Showed up 10 minutes before closing hoping they would still be serving and while the options were limited they still offered Kebab which is what we came for. They were clearly ready to close but still served us. The kebab was delicious and had lots of veg and a nice sauce.

They have amazing chicken burgers & fries. Chef ahmed is really sweet & kind. Good hospitality skills with friendly staff.

Bought wrap chicken yesterday for my son. There was no flavour at all. He couldn’t eat. We binned it. He was upset as the meat was not tasty at all, neither had a Turkish kebab flavour.

Newly visiting Edinburgh we fancied a chilled night and a kebab was absolutely delicious and the donner wrap was massive - gent behind the counter was lovely and friendly and even offered to recook the pizza as he thought it was a little over good but was still amazing not sure what they use for pizza base but YUMYYYYYY was kind of like a paratha base highly recommend

A highly recommended restaurant, the portions are huge and the ingredients are generous and not merciless. One box is very filling for two people. There are a variety of varieties. The red fried chicken is a huge piece, the skin is crispy, the meat is tender, and it tastes very filling. The mutton has no fishy smell, and there are many sauces to choose from. I got a kebab here a couple days ago and it was great. Today I wanted another kebab but they weren't open yet so I bought one from down the street and it was horrible. I waited until #1 was open and got one from there. It was superb! The service was top notch. I couldn't be happier. I've eaten kebabs on three continents and this was definitely #1. Their name says it all! Highly recommended.

Great take away spot in Haymarket. We got chicken kebabs, mixed kebabs, and a pizza. They were all excellent and the owner hand made the entire order. He took great pride in his product and was super friendly.

We had the lamb doner, chicken wings with salad and chips. The food was amazing and the garlic sauce is home made. The guys were friendly and went above and beyond, we highly recommend you try this place when you visit Edinburgh and are in the Haymarket area.

Was in Edinburgh last weekend. Stopped in here for a kebab looking for a quick bite around 1am. Got a mixed kebab with all the trimmings, food was fresh, delicious, portions were great and service top notch. If I'm ever in the area again I'm going there.

I’ve been coming here for over 9 years. The original owner’s Ahmet and Berat are absolute legends. They sort me out every time. The food is delicious and fresh and such a hidden gem of a takeway, which is hard to find now a days. I just got a large chicken kebab, 12” chicken and mushroom pizza, chips and chicken pakora. Everything was fresh and tasty. I’d highly recommend this place if you’re close by or even out for a night out. Great service with a smile. I’ll be back!

Worth checking out. I ordered in person. I got a donner wrap with fries&salad. Decent portion and quality of the food & service reflected the price. If you sweet talk the guy he might even chuck in a tin of juice. Good scran

Avoid avoid avoid. They overcharge. Used card to pay for food that should have been around £5, instead found a £22 charge applied to my bank. Be sure to check amount before using card / contactless for payment. See similar reviews with same complaint so it seems to be a regular thing of theirs.

Can't get a shish kebab where I live, so quite pleased when I found this. "Is it home made chilli sauce?" I asked. Yes, he said. I then saw squirty bottle chilli being used on other orders 🤮 Changed my order to sweet chilli, which I was also told was home made, but was squirted from a mass produced bottle available from Costco etc. Salad was not marinated as it is in London, where shish kebabs are fantastic . £11 seemed excessive as a result. It filled my belly, but I was left a little disappointed.

I ate the best pizzas in Edinburgh here. The shop is very clean and the owner Berat is very friendly. I can only recommend it to everyone.

Poped In on 06/08/2023 order two Shish chicken. It was really nice the owner was really polite and friendly with soft personality. I have asked for additional extra item in busy time he always welcome me the same smile and respect. All staff were really good and professionally trained. Definitely Recommended

Got some chips omw from work on a Tuesday night. Servers were very pleasant and accommodating, got some kebab meat on the house as well. It tasted quite nice too so it was an overall lovely experience.

Today I visited the No 1 Kebab Shop with my family. The food quality is very good and the quantity is also valued for the money. I met with a staff, named Firat; he showed a good customer service, particularly to young child. He expressed extra care to my child. I am really expressed by the customer service.

Watch out for being double charged. I was walking my friend home when he saw this place. I had heard bad things and advised him against it. He ignored me and went in. I was proven right! The place was quiet, there were 3 people in front of us and there was 2 things on the menu. Donner or "chicken". My pal asked for a donner kebab and then waited patiently. A rush of young women came in and all focus was lost on order tracking. We watched as order after order was given out without my friends coming up. After 10 minutes he sheepishly asked about his order. The man tried to charge us a second time. When we refused to pay a second time after insisting that payment was already made, èthey dismissed us and went back to gawking at the girls. It took us a banking app to prove that we had paid already before even one of them would take us seriously and the kebab was produced. Barely an apology from the man who had to admit the mistake after we had shown the withdrawal in the banking ap. The bad things i had heard was, it's a rip off merchant. They will double charge you or add extra charges for made up items. I was proven right in this case. They prey on drunk people to turn an extra profit and have no shame in doing so. I have never recommended this kebab house, and I never will!

Ordered some food tonight and we were disappointed. It arrived lukewarm and looked a bit sad. The chips, cheese and donner meat was awful. Small portion of each and all seemed terrible quality. The chicken kebab was tasty but again ordered large and the portion size wasn't great. Would not recommend or order again.

Visited last week. We got chips and cheese, veg pakora and chkn tikka kebab. Charged £16.10 which was dearer than menu stated. Chkn tikka had donner thrown in which we can't eat, veg pakora was mostly flour. Chips and cheese was horrible. Most disappointed with fact they thought they cld charge us more as we'd had a few drinks. Shame on you 😡

Unfortunately they refuse to listen to your order and cut you short when you try to confirm this order. We ordered three items, received only two with the staff determined we had only ordered two things, probably due to repeatedly interrupting our order to tell us they already have everything we are trying to ask for...oh and both the things they bothered to give us were wrong! The food would have been fine had they actually given us what we asked for ...but they didn't. Although their chilli sauce has no spice, the food was alright. Your main hurdle here is getting them to actually take your order without deciding to give you what they want to give you instead

Busy takeaway. We had the mixed kebab and chips, which was nice. Garlic sauce is not very garlicky, sadly.
