They have now put little fans around the food! A good idea and one that made me buy food from here again - I highly recommend the chicken and avocado sandwich. The coffee is some of the best around too.

I was there as soon as they opened, had a latte, a ham and cheese croissant toasted. One of the best coffees and toasted croissants I ever had, the barista was very well mannered and professional.

I've been here frequently. Good coffee & food for brunch/lunch, especially when it's hot. However, the counter where they house the food sometimes has flies landing on the food which has stopped me from ordering any more food...I want to buy lunch again, but not while flies are landing on said food.

Good coffee and run by an excellent team of staff. The coffee is expensive but it’s also a better quality than nearby chains. We need more independent coffee shops like this

Smooth, a cream, great aroma, great beans, coffee extraction perfect, milk just right. I've had hundreds of coffees from these guys and every single one has been top quality. Cakes are good too... But expensive

We called into this coffee shop for a break on a freezing cold day. Two flat whites cost £6.80. They were very good quality, but unfortunately only served in a paper cup.

Needed a good cup of coffee to get the day started and a bit of pastry to go with. The latte was good and strong, the almond croissant was very good. Not many places to sit, staff was competent but cool.

Without a dought the worst espresso I have ever had. Was so bitter couldn't drink the first one and when I brought this to the attention of the staff as the grind was obviously off , one member of staff completely ignored me and the other concocted this story that this particular Brazilian bean was no good for espresso but was only suited for latte and cappuccino. If you want a pure form coffee don't bother as they do not whay they are selling and do not regularly check the grind.

Nikora is in a great location, just a few steps away from Christopher Place. The coffee tastes great, but it is outrageously expensive. It stings even more when you decide to 'drink in' and receive your drink in the teeniest tiny handmade cup you've ever seen. I'd be happy to pay the price as long as I get the size to match. It's cute and trendy but an overwhelming thought clouds my mind...'Daylight Robbery'.

I am a massive fan of Nkora in Mayfair so was very pleasantly surprised to see this place in St Albans. We came in for a coffee and sat outside on the bench. The coffee was excellent and the staff friendly.

Lovely iced coffee but the staff were lacking warmth somewhat. I know that they have probably been on their feet all day and I’m only essentially buying a coffee but a smile or a thank you goes a long way.

2 stars is not bad considering you served me dried cake. The staff were rude and tables needed cleaning. I definitely won't be going back, staff should be retrained.

I always seem to have a great coffee at Nkora, but not always such good snacks. During the Covid lockdown Nkora has turned itself into a takeaway / local shop (in the early days of Covid I managed to get some items from here that I could not get elsewhere). Looking forward to some form of “normal” returning and enjoying a drink in a china cup and a snack on a plate. Since 17th May there is now some limited seating at the back of the store

Drinks are poor, cakes are average at best. Wanted to buy from a place that wasn't a big chain but will give this one a miss in future.

Visited St Alban's lovely branch for the first time with my family. Lovely food products to purchase, place very nice. Unfortunately, the barista had to make me a 2nd cup of coffee as the oat milk was off. He argued that it shouldn't be off as it lasts for ages!! It may do, but how long that carton was out for, I don't know. 2nd cup tasted very nice but still not hot! Expensive for the size ordered and bought a large. Also bought a keto bar, great that they have lots of choice in terms of dietary requirements. I bought what looked like a yummy GF donut. Well it looked great, texture was good, but again, it was off, infact, I'd go as far to say it was rancid! Think it was made with coconut flour, and definitely wasn't fresh. Real shame.

It was the second time I’d used Nikora and I was disappointed with the attitude of the staff for a second time. The guy who served me seemed more interested in getting back to the coffee he had poured for himself on the surface behind the counter than serve me. However he did give me a smile when I said I wanted to order a single origin coffee and I have to say it was out of this world!! I had to get back to work so didn’t ask where the beans had come from and whether they have them for sale in the shop - wish I had done though.

Popped in for a take away coconut cappuccino with my friend Jennie, en route, to the park, the venue is always very clean, and the staff friendly & efficient, it's a shame due to covid rules we can't enjoy the coffee indoors sat by the historical photo of The Clock Tower, which like it's surroundings, doesn't look much different today. They have a selection of milks coconut, wheat, soya or dairy, my only criticism is they only have one size of cup, for a takeaway, unlike the bigger brands, but as criticism goes, it's not a big deal.

Real shame as the coffee is excellent. Customer service is appalling and the operational organisation of the barristers is an absolute shambles. Management need to step in and complete some staff training, as common sense is dead amongst the hipster team currently employed.

We are delighted that this cafe has opened and were very very happy with the coffee they serve and the really interesting range of food. It's in a great spot and well laid out. We will be back regularly I am sure. Congratulations to the team behind it! If it's this good when it's just opened, can't wait to see how it develops.

Clean, spacious interior with a reasonable amount of seating and a limited amount of pavement seating in front. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, right in the heart of St Albans right by the Clock Tower and all the main shopping areas. My mint tea was lovely and unusually, served in a glass pitcher to be decanted into a cup. It's always good to find good independent alternatives to the big coffee shop chains. I'll definitely use this café again.

Girls who walk lunch gathering - Tudors restaurant was recommended and booked on as a Groupon Steak and Prosecco deal. Not being a steak eater, this was swapped out for Fish and chips and was no problem for our accommodating waiting staff. Starter (Not part of the deal) was Shrimps with garlic butter and bread. Whilst this was quite enjoyable - the Grease from the garlic butter was excessive and not conducive for a pre-diabetic diet. The mains - Fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. Was plentiful and chips nice and fluffy. The fish was not In my opinion fresh and the batter was over done. The mushy peas was dry and bland and I did not eat it or the Tartare sauce. Dessert (Not part of the deal) was Vanilla Ice cream and a welcomed treat on such a hot day/weather. All in all I was disappointed with the food and felt it was "Just okay". Will I visit again? The jury is out. Thanks for the friendly service though.
