Nizza Pizza in Calderdale

First trip to Marc's cafe on Saturday. Decided to sit outside, it's compact and more suited to 2 persons per table (3 on ours so a bit of jiggling about required but we managed) Basic menu, had pizza, a couple of beers and a glass of wine. The pizzas smelled & tasted great, you get the freshness in the toppings, very nice indeed. The set up won't be for everyone but the food was the star of the show!

Possibly the best lasagne I've had in any restaurant! Delightful outdoor eating on a beautiful sunny day. Helpful, pleasant staff. No hesitation recommending.

Staff are lovely and really attentive. The food is amazing, the best pizza place in hebden.

Best Italian food outside of Italy

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Ricardo and the team were incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was delicious, and the price was very reasonable. Ohh and the coffee......was amazing! We highly recommend it and will definitely return!

What a breath of fresh air, an outstanding independent restaurant which is just so authentic, though why wouldn’t it be, Marco is the real deal. We keep coming back after many years and it only gets better. Thank you Marco and your team, superb.

Managed to get a table outside overlooking the river,the weather was fabulous,and there were grey wagtails picking about on the weird. The food was served quickly and was lovely, chicken foccacia and a salad shared. Perfect.

Well what can I say. This place is outstanding. I had pizza which I called a meat feast. It was the best pizza I've ever had. Absolutely delicious 😋. We was sat by the river on a lovely day eating truely authentic pizza's and the staff was superb. I asked for a cheese garlic bread and the the lovely lady said are you sure? The pizza's are quite big. Got my lovely pizza and glad I didn't order the garlic bread as I couldn't even finish my pizza. Highly recommended and thank you for a lovely day Marcos

Proper simple but aromatic Italian food. The owner is very friendly and so are all the staff. The focaccias are simply perfect.

Pleasantly surprised with the place. I have walked past it so many times but I thought it was just another cafe like many in town, today my partner and I were looking for a place to eat and he suggested Marcos cafe and it is now one of my favourite places to eat in Hebden. I had a delicious calzone and they have a nice variety of Italian sodas. I will definitely go back and would recommend the place to anyone who likes good food!

I had a wonderful time, it has the best atmosphere I loved the paintings the herbs and everything it smells so good in the cafe. The pizzas are amazing they didnt fail to fill me up a the herbs and way it’s made is perfect !

A bit expensive but simply the best

Easily some of the best pizza going. Staff are great.

Visited often when it was called Marcos. Absolutely divine food for Hebden and a frequent go to recommendation for new visitors and friends to Hebden. Ever since the rebrand to Nizza something was lost along the way. Visited Nizza to dine in whilst with friends who came over for the weekend only to be welcomed by a very snotty pretentious lady who was very condescending in her service. We were sat on a table and were blatantly ignored for over 35 minutes whilst 3 tables that sat down after us were served/offered drinks. It was a very biased service and felt incredibly unwelcoming to the gem we once knew last year. Server was avoiding eye contact when passing the table and basically left us to rot with no refreshments or attentive table management whilst being very attentive to all of the others. This boiled down to simply leaving the restaurant and having to find an alternative dining venue for our guests. The magic has simply been lost and even though the food is superb the service and atmosphere will never make me return again. Sorry to the man who was prepping/cooking as he was genuine. Stay away from here unless you are part of the pretentious side of the local community otherwise you will not be treat with grace. Thanks Edit: To your reply it’s clear in your demeanour that you are defensive and ignorant to your amateur mistakes in dining/hospitality. Personally I believe you should truly acknowledge and reconsider your statements and not lie in favour of your pride, that’s how your progress as an individual & establishment. Your 7 minute statement is already falsified by my phone tracking data that day but I won’t embarrass you as in the end these are your mistakes not mine. I am happy to travel out of my way for the same level of food and better service. You’re way out of your depth old bitter lady.

Service not great , we ordered at 12:45 and we didn't get it until 13:30 . And when it came it wasn't even SLICED. !!!

The plain margarita we had today was really nice, super thin, nice crunchy crust, generous with the herbs and olive oil, just the right amount of garlic and well seasoned, the cappuccino I had was exceptional, there’s a lot of very average coffee around but here it was really really good.

Beautiful food very authentic. Can sit outside with it dog but it was a bit chilly. Reasonably priced abs very generous portions.

Top service, food, and surroundings, especially the outdoor seats by the river. The owner also kindly let us use their toilet long after we left when we found that the public toilet nearby was closed.

We had an absolutely amazing meal at Marco's! Omg, I will be DREAMING about the aubergine parmigiana forever! I'm honestly gutted we live 2.5 hrs away because this was the best meal I've ever eaten. We came for dinner (2 adults and a child) and ordered the veggie calzone, parmigiana and a salad all to share. The portions are HUGE! We left stuffed and so happy as the food was just gorgeous. We sat outside out the back and had the lovely waterfall as our soundtrack. The staff were really friendly, attentive and moved tables about to accommodate us (and to fit the massive plates on!). The food came out quickly and was so hot and fresh. Everything was just divine - I honestly can't express how delicious it all was. I am NOT a salad person and I loved the salad as the dressing was so tasty. The calzone was crunchy, cheesy, buttery and garlicky. But the star of the show was the aubergine parm. It came with this deliciously crunchy foccacia bread. The top was cheesy and crispy, the sauce was the absolute best tomato sauce I've ever had and the aubergine and veg inside was the perfect filling. You will not regret visiting!!

Great food, friendly staff, nice vibe. The bruschetta is delicious, and a very generous portion!!! Fortunately we were provided with a takeaway box, so we could enjoy the rest at our leisure. Yum! Will look forward to calling in again

Really nice place to eat and drink, coffee was excellent, we used this Cafe to take our Grandaughter to with her friends whilst at Shibden park. Very popular place to go to.

Found this place by Google suggestion. It was so good the food. Very traditional tasting. Also the portion size wow make sure your hungry. If I had one down point it would be a very small one that they could do with another waiter/ waitress as you did have to wait a while because its so popular.

Amazing little Italian restaurant, the meaty calzone is beyond delicious, the pizza spectacular. Recommend 100% but watch out. They are big!!! Haha the Rica pizza also out of this world

My life was changed forever when I had my first pizza at this most amazing place. I was sent into another realm of ecstatic bliss upon the first bite. The best pizza I've had in a long time and I used to live in Italy!

Unreal pizza. Best I've tasted. Rivals Florence, Rome and pizza sampled across Tuscany. Definitely more memorable on flavour. Large glass of wine for £6 was v nice.

Marco and his team are very friendly and care a lot about the food and the coffee. A little island of Italy in the Calder Valley and quite simply the best pizza you'll find for many miles around! Marco is from near Rome. His Roman-style pizzas are very similar to Neopolitan pizza, though of course he will tell you they're better! In truth, the only pizzas I've found that actually were better than Marco's were the very best that I tasted in Naples. 90% of the Naples pizzas were below his standards, his pizza really is that good! UPDATE OCTOBER 2022: Now listed as one of the top 100 Pizzerias in England by Restaurant Guru!

Had a really delicious lunch here! The pizza was great and so was the vegetarian foccacia, and the staff were really lovely too. Beautiful seating by the river too.

Had lunch here sat by the river, having had it recommended by our Airbnb host. It didn't disappoint, really great pizza with perfectly chilled beer! Pizza was big enough to share between two and is relatively cheap for a simple one - £2 per topping otherwise. Would 100% recommend the pizza for eat in or takeaway. They also offer focaccia slices with any of the same toppings if you want something to go and staff were super friendly

A Lovely Hidden Gem! What drew us to have our Lunch here was the Smell as we Walked past, then we saw the Fresh Focaccia in the Window....We found the Entrance along the Canal Side. Was quite popular, quiet and friendly. The Menu was small and limited but that did not affect the Quality of our Pizza. The House Wine was DELICIOUS too! Cannot Fault, Highly Recommend. Really Welcoming. We had a Simple Margarita Pizza between Us. I've never had such a Thin Based Pizza, it was Yum! This is now our No1 place to Dine! We will be Back :)
