Nishirath Kitchen in Cardiff

I feel it is important to share how bad my experience was with this particular takeaway. on Saturday 15th June I placed an order via there website for delivery at 10.13pm (please bare in mind that I order every single Saturday) the order went through, confirmation was recieved and payment was taken from my account. I had not recieved my order at 11 so thought I would call the takeaway...the phone was ringing but no answer (I tried 6 times and left a voicemail) Please note their website says it was open til midnight. Anyway food did not arrive even though they tool payment. I phoned back on Sunday evening 16th June and spoke to a manager who told me that I had to request a refund online, no sympathy whatsoever and said that they close at 11 when there website says different. I send emails to both the manager and the takaway with a screenshot as proof of order..in one week nobody has bothered to get back to me. what a way to treat a regular customer who orders every week. I will be taking this matter further and will not be ordering from this place again...also as I work in a hotel all promotional menus has now been removed to prevent my guests having the same experience. FUTHER UPDATE I HAD A RESPONCE FROM THE MANAGER VIA MY FB REVIEW SAYING HE WAS SORRY AND WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND GET BACK TO ME...THIS WAS SHORTLY AFTER PUBLISHING THE REVIEW (months ago), NEVER BOTHERED TO CONTACT ME AFTER THAT CLEARLY HE WAS JUST TRYING TO SAVE FACE ON FB, SO AS A REGULAR CUSTOMER THEY TOOK MY MONEY FAILED TO DELIVER AND NEVER ISSUED ME A REFUND.

Dont know if it's new owners or chef but the curry sauce are hit miss can be awful or good and three bits of lamb in my curry on more than one occasion now 10 years of being my favourite takeaway not for me anymore

I ordered the Lamb Sashlick and my son ordered a Lamb Chelami. The Chelami was OK, not too over powering, but the meat in my Sashlick was so tough it was inedible. Plus there were only 4 strips of lamb. We were also supposed to get complimentary onion bhajis if we ordered over £20 which never arrived. When I phoned to speak with the takeaway, the gentleman offered to replace the Sashlick but denied that they made the offer of onion bhajis, which as you can tell from the photo is clear to see. The replacement sashlick took 40 minutes to arrive but was still far too overcooked and tough, but there were 7 pieces of meat this time. More onion than meat, so perhaps better named Onion sashlick. Definitely won't be ordering from here again.

I would've rated this place 5 stars because I've been ordering off them for over 15 years at least every 3 or 4 months. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning October 2023 last year from either their Prawn Cocktail salad or Chicken Korma. I noticed they failed their spot check Food standard review and was allowed to reopen and trade again with Just Eat which was disappointing to read from the official Food Standard Agency website. I've not ordered from them since and won't order again. (Was a whole lot of polava trying to get a refund from Just Eat and Paypal and the FSA never got back to me to take the food to the lab for testing when I contacted them very next day which was also alarming)

Great food, generous portions, fair prices with nhs discount and delivery. I've gotta give credit where it's due - we really enjoyed it and the tandoori mixed grill is sensational

Onion bhajis too hot to be edible, dry and powdery inside, worst i ever tasted. Rest of meal very good. Shame really.

Ordered food at 2020…it’s now 2151 and we don’t have it but the Just Eat app says it’s been delivered! Called the restaurant and they have 1 driver on for Friday. No longer going to use this place. Food arrived a couple of minutes ago…cold and missing the garlic naan. Amateurs. But, look forward to getting my full refund from Just Eat.

Good service can’t rate the food as I waited over 2 and half hours for it so I phoned an canceled the order the guy on the phone had nothing to say shocking I could’ve ran across the road to the chippy an got food faster appalling

2.5 hrs late! Cold and unedible, waste of 25 quid and ruined my night. Do not order from these cowboys

Very disappointed, myself and my partner always order for S.O.W but because we were low on petrol decided to try somewhere new for tonight. We ordered a chicken biryani & lamb biryani which were vile, they tasted like the Cook mixed the curry with a stew packet flavour mix, both myself and my partner threw it away, safe to say I won’t be returning here. I will say the onion Baji & Keema Naan were tasty and the mint sauce was really good, however the only edible parts to the meal which is a real shame, had high expectations for this establishment as it’s presented by a well designed shop etc but that doesn’t reflect on the food I’m afraid.

My usual Indian was closed so tried here instead, via just eat. Positives: - Complimentary poppadom, onion salad and mint yoghurt. - The curry was fairly tasty -nice fluffy tasty pilau rice Negatives: - Arrived tepid in temperature, not sure they insulate it in the delivery driver’s car - the curry was swimming in oil, I had to pour it off (see photo) - not a lot of chicken, enough, but filled out with quite a few pieces of tomato - peshwari naan was a little stodgy - saag balti also very oily Think 2/2.5 stars is fair, as it wasn’t great. Don’t recommend and will be returning to my usual Indian!

Horrible customer service and very rude receptionist.

I switched curry houses as my usual went downhill and I'm glad I found this one. Great flavours and loads of meat which is hard to find, real authentic recipes and great variety.

Highly recommend avoid this place.. Owner swears to there customers.. Chef dose not have idea how to even toss the food i won't even call him a chef.. These bunch of people are spolling the name of great indian food... SHAME ON YOU!!

Very good chicken tikka biryani. First time I've tried here, will definitely return.

I had a chicken dansak....it was nice but far to much sugar.very sweet.and also the nann was to sweet.chapati was terrible..like crisp.they really need to practise there chapattis.

I have a takeaway every Friday, always good.

Second visit this week and everything was 10/10. The quality of the food speaks for itself

Delicious food. Quick delivery and warm food most importantly. Restaurant was very generous, after ordering I realised I forgotten to order poppadoms with the sauces. To my surprise they had included some without even asking. Thank you, will certainly be coming back. Food was great quality, fresh and tasted great. 10/10

Worst curry I’ve ever seen, smelt and tasted. Both curries ordered came with a deep layer of oil on top and looked brown in colour. Smelt like gravy. Restaurant refused to give a refund or replace the food free of charge, instead offering a small discount on a future order. No thanks.

Really bad food and customer service. Had to put it in the bin as it was swimming in grease. Refused a refund or replacement. Will not be ordering again.

Ordered 2 curries (madras and Bhuna), both came covered in oil and were in edible to eat. Phoned up the restaurant to ask for either a replacement order or a refund and both were refused. The only option given was for a discount on another order. Don’t order from this place, smelt and looked nothing like a curry at all. Awful!

Ordered here and the food was amazing. Ordered again a few weeks later and just wasn't the same. Also, sashalic chicken peices are small slices rather than nice chunks.

Having been on the search for a decent curry round Canton for the last 2 years, this is the best by some distance. Great quality meat, properly cooked, and not just filled with salt, oil, and artificial colouring/flavouring. No horrible yellow stain on your fingers for the next day! Will be ordering from here every time from now on. Please keep the quality up!

Last week we ordered lamb curry madras as it was hubby birthday. It was excellent. So today we ordered the same as it was my birthday and I was bitterly disappointed. Nearly all the pieces of meat were fat and gristle. Haven't complained yet as don't wish to spoil my night any further but will be doing so tomorrow

Been ordering from here for a while now. The food always tastes fresh and the delivery is quick, the curries are never watered down and have a lovely thick sauce that tastes amazing. The portions of the food is great for the price and the spicy level of the vindaloo is perfect. I recommend this place to anyone that likes a lovely fresh curry, and wants a curry with no water! Absolutely amazing food. The ordering area is very well presented and the idea of a large window to view your food being prepared is absolute genius. Customer service from Farris alone would be enough to bring you back day after day. This curry house is a must try. Well done team at Nishirath.

I first ordered a meal here last week (I thought I would try somewhere different from my normal restaurant) and I got to say it’s the best take away food ever. Just ordered again and it was spot on. Quick delivery , lovely and fresh tasting food and good portions. It really is a excellent take away. Will be my new regular Indian take away. Excellent

Found these Guys a few weeks ago, and use them all the time now. They deliver a fantastic friendly service, and their food is amazing! I highly recommend them. I look forward to ordering from them again this weekend.

I ordered take away from here for the first time this week, and was really impressed with how great the food was. The meat was really good quality (which is hard to find from a Cardiff based take-away) and the portions were generous. Overall it was great quality food, incredibly tasty and at a good price. Having tried and tested a number of different indian takeaways across Cardiff this one comes up on top and will definitely be returning!

After the recent new ownership and re furb. I must say this has become my most favourite Indian takeaway. Food is always warm and on time. Staff are kind and polite. They really have increased quality. Could not reccomend it any more. Try it you will not be dissapointed.

Tried out the new Nishrath Kitchen a few times now. All I can say is that the food is delicious. Staff are pleasant and food order was accurate and hot. The place has had a bit of a facelift recently and it’s a lovely modern smart atmosphere in there now. Comfy seats while you wait for the food order or just call it in and pick it up as we did. Good sized portions and fresh tasty food. Couldn’t ask for more.

Really good Tandoori. And service is excellent. But the chips are really soggy

Haven’t eaten from here for about 3 years was a favourite we ate from every week, had a takeaway last night and was so disappointed nowhere near as nice as it used to be
