Lovely owner. Very good at explaining what the food is all about. We had lattes made with organic oat milk. I’d never tried it before. Yummy. We also had toast. There are a selection of cakes and soups. Great place to go for a light lunch or morning coffee. We went to the Hythe branch. Well worth a visit. Cx

A while ago I was at Old Street station where I discovered a soup specialist called Nincomsoup. You can't miss it because you can literally smell the lovely soups a mile away. Nincomsoup have been specialising in liquid assets since 1999. On the menu it is primarily soups as well as soup companions like bread and they also have juices, pastries and other items. There are about six soups to choose from and they let you try the soups which help you decide. There were three soups that day which were my fancy: bangers and mash, Sengalese chicken and Russian Fish soup. Sampled all three and I was a bit disappointed with bangers and mash as it tasted more like potato soup but chicken and fish stole each others show in different ways. The chicken was very exotic in taste with peanuts and spices as well as the chicken while the Fish was equally comforting even though it was Russian style because of the dill and smoked haddock. In the end I settled for the Chicken as I rarely have Sengalese chicken as opposed to Fish. I went for the small soup because I still had other restaurants to try. At the soup counter, there are fresh herbs which you can add to your soup. Overall, I would really recommend this soup joint and hope to come back for the Russian Fish soup next time. The trouble is, they always change the soups so there could be something more exciting next time.

Fresh hot soup in a relaxing dining area. No fuss, no bother - just fresh hot soup and a crusty roll. Bread is extra but no need to buy a drink.

I stopped buying lunch from Nincom many months ago why ? soup is expensive but amazing, worth paying the price but the staff were always rude and disinterested so I thought stuff them. Today I was walking past and thought hey things might of changed, but no, soup was still expensive but amazing and the staff were as rude as ever and disinterested. Unlike the Terminator I will not be back !

I highly recommend the soup, good variety and you can find vegan options! The juice they have are the best you can find around. The coffee and the matcha tea are delicious they both have a balanced flavour.

I ordered an açai espresso smoothie bowl, waited an absolute eternity for it, and when I asked them where it was they told me "these things take a while to make". Fine, I waited patiently only to receive a smoothie bowl with a big block of frozen açai puree in it and whole coffee beans. I'm still struggling to understand how a barely blended bowl could take that much time to make. That is £6 of my money and 15 minutes of my time I will never get back.

Located in Old st station an excellent stop off for something to eat and drink. I used to come here years ago when it first opened, loved sitting in the window people watching, not been back in a long time but glad I made a stop here. Noticed a few reviews commenting about disengaged staff, I found them to be really friendly and helpful, and they asked if I wanted to have a try of the soups first to see if I liked them. Just like the good old days.

Gorgeous space and appealing menu but, after a year of visiting, I get a lukewarm welcome at best. Disengaged staff who prefer to entertain each other rather than give good service and attention to loyal and new customers.

Located in the subway system of Old Street station, this has a range of flavoursome, fresh and interesting soups (I had Lombok Fish Stew) and breads. Coffee was good too. The vibe and décor is spot on, basically I couldn't fault it.

Situated in the bowels of Old Street tube station this is my 'go to' place for lunch on my monthly visits to Shoreditch. A simple concept - 6 or 7 homemade soups which change regularly covering a broad spectrum of tastes. Never the same on two occasions. Soup and bread for under a fiver. I usually pitch up on a window seat and watch the Shoreditch trendies file past - wearing daft beards but not socks.

Love the soup here. The cornbread is awesome. Great veggie selection and they have free water to hand. Coffee is also good. Downside is it’s a little expensive for soup so it’s a treat not somewhere I’d pop into every day. If they sold the large soup eve night for £5 I’d be there quite a few times a week rather than once every few.

Out I went, for a thoroughly intense knees-up with Janto, Chunger and Big Mervyn. After drowning our sorrows with Big Merv’s inheritance from his deid Mam, and ingesting some lighter fluid avec workerman’s glue, we headed to The Joker for a knees up. First in, Chunger got in the pints which were all exceedingly tasty and helped wash down the acrid tang of glue at the back of my throat. It was only after Janto repeatedly and brazenly kept impersonating a couple on a date next to us, by doing the young man’s lovely, soft posh accent that things really got funny. ‘WHAT IS SO FUNNY?’ He boomed. ‘Please let’s just leave, these men are savages and I think they’re on something, they’re out of their heads!’ said his date. We laughed some more and Merv said, too right, we’re out of our heads on good times, and also a heavy dose of my deid Ma’s dosh. ‘You sick freaks’ intoned the gent. ‘You think you’re so funny!’ It was then that Chunger stood up and roared with the strength of a hurricane into his own pint glass - ‘I AM TRYING TO HAVE A LAUGH. MY FATHER WAS NOT VERY NICE TO ME’ We fell about the floor laughing and ordering more pints which flowed as fast as the beautiful currents of the Arno. Things became decidedly ugly when I took a gulp of the young gent’s gravy which was on his plate, but Big Mervyn settled accounts by leaning on the man’s shoulder and whispering a few sweet nothings. Overall, I had a cracking night and the craic was 90 as we Ho Ho Ho’d all the way home with the young couple’s umbrella which they very kindly gave to us, as well as £50, which was very generous.
