Nicoll's Steakhouse in Perth & Kinross

Very good Steak cover restaurant in Perth. The front is not very encouraging, but the interior is very warm, and we ate really well.

Food was excellent, so nice if a chef treats vegetarian dishes with respect and love. Sautéed veggies were perfect and the spinach tortellini delicious. The meat dishes too! Really appreciated the music (classic originals, not covers) and that the table wasn't sticky.

The food looks nice but where is it?, 😳 Portion sizes look tiny.

Perths best restaurant I reckon!! If this place ever shuts down I might cry, the best steak, drinks and staff, my boyfriend treated me for my birthday on a whim we picked here last minute, the steak was cooked to perfection, the staff were so friendly and the Diane sauce was out of this world!!!

We all had a lovely meal in nice surroundings. The service was great and not rushed. The restaurant was busy, toilet facilities were easily accessed and clean. Compliments to the kitchen team for making delicious sirloin steak, steak pie and fish and chips. Gluten free options are available. Keep up the great work.

Simply and plainly EVERYTHING PERFECT. Exquisite food, very friendly service and ambient music at the right volume level. What more could you ask for for a pleasant dinner. As an anecdote, we are from Madrid, and they called us “Cerveza de Madri!!!”. Hahahahahahahaha.

Don't let the outside dissuade you; this place is a hidden gem. The food is both delicate and hearty, the service is friendly, and the music play list is excellent golden age of pop tunes.

First visit here, worth the 300 mile journey just for the t bone steak. Not often in Perth but this place makes me want to go back soon

Came across this place by chance. We hadn't booked, but they accommodated us. Great service and the food was absolutely delicious. Definitely be heading back here. 5 *

We were in Perth for an overnight and fancied a steak so picked this restaurant boy did it not disappoint , I actually picked the rack of ribs the rest of the company had fillet steaks , my dinner was the best I have had in years , would definitely recommend this infact a would drive the hour just to go here again.

We visited Nicoll’s for our Anniversary , it was our first visit here and we will definitely go back. The staff were friendly and the place had a warm welcoming feel. The Sirloin steak was delicious and cooked to perfection. Definitely good value for money .

This place is well worth a visit. Great atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and most importantly the food is outstanding. We were a table of 12 for a birthday celebration, all steaks cooked to perfection, excellent choice of sauces and sides and a good choice of drinks. Pricing also very good considering everything you get here. A must go to in Perth, our new favourite.

Fantastic range of the highest quality steaks (they do other things, but why would you not eat steak here!! And they even serve veggie options too!) My eldest son had a huge, tasty T-bone steak; his brother had a juicy ribeye and my hubby and I shared a delicious Chateaubriand. Good choice of generous sides and sauces. Everything was cooked to perfection by Aussie Richard . The service by a young but very knowledgeable staff was swift and excellent, led brilliantly by front of house Jenna. The restaurant was full all night - so book to avoid disappointment! A thoroughly enjoyable evening - we will definitely be back!

Had a birthday dinner with my wife on Saturday night. Had the haggis to start and the chateaubriand to share for the main. Haggis was lovely and steak was fantastic - cooked perfectly with good sides. Service here is great too - lovely atmosphere with attentive but not over bearing staff ! Would recommend this to all - make sure you book though - very busy for a Saturday night in January…

The food was really good, my steak was quickly prepared to perfection. The restaurant is a bit dated,small and very cold even though the heating was on.

Upon booking I've been informed that we'd be seated in the live lounge area where a band was playing. Upon arriving we were instructed to take a seat in the front restaurant to wait for our table which was understandable as mamy restaurants operate that was. Then the waiteess took our drinks order which was understandable so we waited patiently. Then they came back to take our food order at which point I mentioned that we have booked a table in the live lounge area and would much rather not sit in a really cold room, especially that the rest of our party were wearing dresses and such hence they were getting cold. After enquiring about our table, the waitress mentioned that we're welcome to go and drink in the live lounge after we've eaten our food, which would take another hour of sitting in a draughty room everytime people went in or out the restaurant. The waitress then said she'll check what she can do but has never came to our table after that. Very disssapointing as the experience was spoiled despite the food being excellent. 3/5

Went for a family meal on Christmas eve havong heard positive things about place. Its a large open traditional style hotel with a restraurant. It was quiet but we were seated quickly by the friendly staff member. Really nice menu with some very traditional dishes as well as modern stuff plus all the grill dishes. We all had starters which were lovely and a nice sized portion. All 4 of us had steaks, 2 being T bones. Steaks were excellent, cooked to perfection with lovely sides. Best steak for a long time. Chef obviously lnows his stuff. WE sadly couldnt manage desserts but the dessert menu looked great. Overall it was a 5/5 and a must return. My wife who is a discerning diner really enjoyed the food which says a lot. Great place, really worth a visit.

We went here today for a family birthday. The food was lovely. Perfect steaks, delicious desserts and the kids fish and chips looked so good. Clean and tidy and inviting surroundings. Will definitely be back.

First time here after a recommendation from a friend. Not at all disappointed, quite the opposite. The food was excellent and perfect & friendly/efficient service. The venue was warm and cosey. We were there with another couple - the starters were excellent with generous portions. We all had steaks - not sure on the word above excellent - the meat and cooking was perfect. Same for the puddings - high quality and super tasty. Will be back again and highly recommended.

Date night and we thought we would give Nicolls steakhouse a go,we have to say we were not disappointed, lovely atmosphere, service very friendly, food soo good , hoping to make this a regular.

We´ve been there last week (and tomorrow again). Very good food, nice place to be. A good recommendation in Perth.

First visit and will certainly recommend. I'm fussy and like a well-done steak and that is what I got. It was tasty, the onion rings were crunchy and the peppercorn sauce flavoursome. The surroundings are cosy, the music not loud and the staff were very attentive. By way of a suggestion, the thin chips were crispy but another side could be chunky ones. Didn't have time to try the desert but the pulled pork bon bon starter was spicy with a chilling side salad. Less than 15 min walk to the Concert Hall.

Anniversary dinner. First wagu steak of my life. Got to compare it to a fillet, my partner had. Incredible. Wonderful evening, chef and his partner took time to sit with us and share a drink together at the end of the evening. Fantastic food, excellent service, ambience could use a little work with the lighting, but very nice decor and high standards. Can't wait to return.

A Sunday lunch. The steaks were great; cooked perfectly. The service was thoughtful and fast. The previous problem with smoky cooking atmosphere that I experienced too has been resolved. It's not cheap if you're eating steak, but worth a visit.

Went on a Sunday evening and enjoyed a great meal with excellent service and very interesting conversation with the couple running the place.

A weekend trip to Perth with no particular plan. Found Nicoll’s steak house as we appreciate a chateaubriand. Starters on Friday were haggis bonbons and tempura prawns, this evening was prawns and creamy garlic mushrooms - all fabulous. Chateaubriand with sweet potato fries and chips both times, and absolutely terrific both evenings. Sweets of sticky toffee pudding and incredible bramble and apple crumble. A relatively undiscovered gem so far. We may well return tomorrow for a roast lunch. We will most certainly return in the future.

What a fabulous steakhouse. Partner had the wagu. If you looking for that Matrix steak this is the place. Friendly all round. Nice decor. Clean professional. Great place.

So good! I brought my partner and daughter here based on some rave reviews I’ve seen on local Facebook pages. We were not disappointed! My partner admitted he initially didn’t expect much based on the decor but quickly changed his mind once we were seated. Service - superb. Food - superb. Ambience - relaxed and friendly. And kudos to the lady running front of house (sorry I didn’t catch your name) for the way she catered to my fussy daughter (she says it’s the best restaurant she’s ever been to) We don’t eat out often, but hopefully this place is here for the long term as it will be top of our list next time we’re looking for somewhere to eat.

We found this lovely place in Perth. The entrance already gets you into the atmosphere of a local unique and nice pales with the fine decorations. The service was excellent and the food delicious - the soups very tasty as well as the steaks cooked to perfection. We had a wonderful time there

Nicolls steak House is recently reopened under new management, so we decided to try it out before going to a show at the concert hall. Very happy we did , the restaurant is clean and tidy , nicely set up and had a nice feel about it. Nice to see a simple menu not packed with loads of choice, but a menu with good food offered at a good price. The service was good , nice friendly staff . The food is cooked fresh for you so just be prepared to wait a little bit, but believe me it's worth the wait. The food was amazing and I had the best burger I've ever had . Would I go back definitely, would I recommend this to family and friends yes very highly.

Recently taken over, and for the better. The venue is much more inviting, a proper bar, and the food is excellent. The steak was perfectly cooked. Good luck with your venture guys, we'll be back.

Our first time here thought we would try it for my birthday treat, we were not disappointed we had the ribeye steak for two with a bottle of red wine. It was so tasty I normally don’t finish a meal but this was so good...

I was doing a tough house clearance and wanted to thank my helpers by giving them a meal. We weren't disappointed. Probably the best steak I've had, tender and flavourful. Will definitely be back. Plenty of parking nearby, yet still fairly central. A good place for a meal.

We had an excellent meal in Nicholls's Steak House in Perth. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. Most of importantly of all though was the quality of the food. We were a party of 6 and had various steaks and also Gluten Free fish and chips. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the GF fish was a very generous size and was very tasty I would recommend anyone who is looking for quality, delicious steaks in Perth to visit the recently reopened Nicholl's. You won't be disappointed

I can highly recommend the recently reopened Nicholl's Steakhouse in Perth. We visited on Sat 19th Aug 23 and the service, atmosphere and food were excellent. There were 6 of us in our party and we ordered various steaks from rump to ribeye and t-bone....

First time eating there. Very good steaks, pleasant service. Richard and Jenna are doing a good job. Alcohol is a bit pricey. Toilets very clean. Remembering that this has recently been reopened, it would benefit from being cheered up decor wise. Overall we would recommend eating there as the food is high quality.

Popped in for lunch today. Server was very attentive. Food served was of a high quality. Nice to know there are restaurants that take pride in there food. Will defo visit again for a steak sampling

So disappointed booked for a meal for a friend's 65th birthday hotel booked spend the day in Perth lovely, however no nice meal as the restaurant was closed no notice really bad management 😡 won't be back.

As a group of 5 we had a sharing starter and a sharing steak board for mains. Both great! The steaks were really lovely. Staff very friendly. The only let down was the bland (pepper) sauce - fed back though and it was taken well.

Absolutely amazing and delicious meal. Staff were fantastic, so friendly and pleasant. I'll definitely be going back and would highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

Excellent steak house. I ordered fillet steak and my husband had the chicken burger. We both feel satisfied and recommend this restaurant.

For lovers of the genre the meat is very good, but I would say high average. If you are looking for an alternative to the classic pubs this is an excellent solution. They have soups, different types of meat, a remarkable assortment of desserts (a plus). The service is fast and the staff very kind and patient (as Italians we were not used to a Scottish accent, they were very kind in pronouncing the words)

We had a really good dinner and at a very good price. The soup was very good and the meat (chateaubriand) spectacular! Very friendly service.

Dismal- place was dirty with tables left uncleared, food debris on the floor and the table we were sat at needed a good wipe down. The badly printed grubby a4 menu had clearly been in the hands of many diners. Starters were ok, nothing special, but the steak was a let down considering the place is reportedly run by.butchers. My small sirloin arrived grey, no grill marks or colour, and the excess fat was raw and not rendered at all. Ordered medium rare but it was cooked through and honestly looked like a budget cheap supermarket steak. My wife ordered the chateaubriand, which, at £60 should have come with a bottle of wine (never arrived). The steak looked like it had been run over - never seen a flat chateaubriand that was less than an inch thick before. Asked for a glass of wine to go with the steak as we didn’t get offered the included bottle- that never arrived either. Overall, disappointing, dirty and badly cooked, poor quality steak.Wont be back.

Went here with 14 members of family to celebrate my 70th birthday…the food was amazing, everyone had different things, steaks, steak pie, chicken and various other things, every one of us found our meals delicious, the staff, Kirsty and Colin were amazing, nothing was too much trouble to them and they really went above and beyond and made our afternoon so special and enjoyable….will definatly be back ….it’s a 10 from us !!

Only visited Perth for one night to see Peat&Diesel, asked for recommendations - and Nicoll's did not disappoint (although I thought people had misunderstood my request for breakfast recs when they told me about a steakhouse?) The ladies at Nicoll's were fabulous, so welcomin g and also knowledgeable about the meat they were serving - wish we could have stayed for dinner here too! If you keep your receipt from Nicoll's you get a discount at their 'sister' buthers (which explains the amazing fresh meat) I would actually contemplate travelling 4 hours back to Perth, just for their dinner menu - please vist if you're local - you won't be disappointed

Over priced for the quality of product... service bellow par... had to ask for steak knives in a steakhouse..... and order 6 starters but were only served 5..... after 15min had to ask for 6th starter.... wouldn't go back.....

Nicholl's does steak to perfection. 8oz fillet with the trimmings for less than £20. What more would you want.

Truly outstanding. I wouldn't change a single thing about this meal. The staff was kind enough to share a simple recipe with me. There's no way you'll have an experience like this in America.

We came home from Turkey just the day before & had a super steak pie & chips with great veg! This was followed by a STP served with icecream & custard ..... shared of course! Kirsty & Colin were great hosts & we really enjoyed the whole experience! We will be back!
