The best Fish and chip shop around! Really delicious always cooked fresh (non of this reheating yesterday’s left overs like other Chip shops) and the staff are always really kind and caring. I’m yet to have something of the menu I haven’t enjoyed !

We always know we'll get the best when we visit Newtown. It's not often that you find an establishment that looks after their customers like Newtown. What a lovely team... so genuine and welcoming - their customer service always goes above and beyond. We've never had any issues with the quality of the food, which is a huge achievement considering we come here A LOT 😂

We have been here soooooo many times and think it’s about time we bigged up just how lovely it is! Not only is the food perfect every single time but the beautiful family that run it really do go above and beyond! They remember us, the previous conversations, my kids they really are such a lovely bunch of people… it’s an absolute bonus that the food is so lovely so we get to keep going back! I highly recommend EVERYTHING that’s in the menu as I can guarantee it’ll be absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is also joyful and it’s an absolute please to pop in and have convo whilst we wait for our freshly cooked food! Get yourself down there you will not be disappointed!

I could have gone to much closer Fish and Chip shops,but after seeing a review online ,I’m so glad i decided to make a detour. On arrival all the staff were really welcoming.Didn’t have to wait long until I ordered and got chatting to the owner,who turned out to be a family run business.Told them I’d travelled some distance and after ordering ,my food was wrapped in foil and they also added some great potato fritters and a small chicken and chips,amazing!After saying thank you and returning home,the family loved everything we ordered,my fish was probably the best I’ve had in years and we will definitely be returning.Thanks again and see you soon,cheers.

Tried this Newtown F&K house for the first time as read it was ‘’ very good ‘’ and thought I’d have a chippy tea for a treat ! I must have caught them on a bad day. The fish batter was soggy, chips dry and tasteless, salad also tasteless ( fortunately had some salt with me) The sauce, supposedly mayo was the blandest cream I’ve ever tasted. In fact so dubious as to what it actually was, I wiped it off and tried to eat salad without. Mini fish and chips, medium salad for £9.50 ? The star points are given for the neat packaging.

The best fish and chips I have had in a while ablsotute beast of am meal and the staff are politer and well mannered. Definitely recommend if u want the best values and quality

Highly recommended. Cannot fault the quality of the food or the portion sizes, excellent value for money. Staff are friendly and efficient. Parking can sometimes be an issue though because it’s such a great local chippy.

I never write reviews but this place deserves a shout out. Easily the best fish and chip shop in Stourport, if not the West Midlands. This is no exaggeration, I've eaten all over the Midlands and indeed, the UK, but Newtown is one of the best chippies I've come across. Their food is fresh, their service is excellent (so friendly!) and their portion sizes are very generous. You really can't go wrong. Try them out of you're in the area. (And no, I wasn't paid to write this good review, I'm just a very satisfied customer). ☺️

We always use this chippy and the service is excellent. We either pop in or do click n collect which saves a lot of time if I’ve been working all day. The brothers and Helen are fab. Tbh the whole team are. Best fish and chips ever. Even better than the well known Bournemouth chippy. We won’t go anywhere else. I like my chips a little moist, not crispy and the chips are just perfect. Plus the Cod is top notch. You won’t be disappointed

I never write reviews for anything, but I just had to give these guys their dues. Every bit of food we've ever had has been perfectly cooked and utterly delicious. The portions are also really generous. This might sound like they're paying me, but they're honestly not haha. Every time we go in, we get a smile and asked how we are. They're the kind of local family business that you really want to get behind. If you want the guarantee of a good feed with lovely warm service, this is the place to go!

Faultless from fish to meat to the potatoes they use to the salads these guys are flawless in what they do from prep to completion everything is done so efficient and they're friendly every member of staff are wonderful and the food is the best in the county without fail!

Had another fantastic Chicken Tikka Kebab from here again. Plenty of meat & lovely fresh salad with a huge range of sauces. Service & staff are brilliant. Expect to be queueing out of the door on Friday's, but you'll quickly be served

We live in Bewdley Worcestershire yet always come here when we fancy a take away staff always polite,smiling and happy to help no matter how big or small the order, value for money is brilliant, food amazing highly recommended ok so sometimes there are big cues but the staff are very well organised and we never seem to be waiting long not that we mind because we dont one bit when the food and value is so good wish they would open a shop in Bewdley and show them how its really done .

The best Kebabs, Fish and Chip shop in Stourport-on-Severn, Good portion sizes and fantastic service. The queue can be long but goes down quickly and it's well worth the wait.

As always, the food was lovely. Yes you have to queue but this place never fails for deliver. My only comment, maybe it's time to allow payment by card

I have been coming here for years, this fish and chip shop gives a great service every week without fail. We travel a distance passing other chip shops on the way because we know how reliable and friendly they are. Excellent food and a quick, friendly service.

Normally go to the chippy in town when down in our caravan, but thought we would try new town in Brinkley street for a change. I don’t normally write a bad review, but this meal was so bad, just couldn’t eat it. Loads of chips, but tasteless and hard, the fish wasn’t ready, so they put 3 mini fish instead. Batter was awful, so just ate the fish, but parts of that was hard. Sorry, but never again. I will stick to town.

We visited here whilst staying in the area and based on the excellent reviews we had read.The staff are polite ,friendly and give a service with a smile , despite a long queue of customers behind us.The food was delicious, we all agreed the best fish and chips takeaway for along time. Only criticism is we don't live closer to it otherwise we would be a reqular customer.Definitely visit again when in the area . Thank you

The staff at Newtown always let you take your time no matter how busy they are. They do get very busy as they are very popular but the queues go down quickly. There are lots of staff and the whole place seems to run like a well oiled machine. They have loads of meal deals and there is always food cooked and ready. Prices are good and quality is great.

Fantastic chippy we always have a great meal whatever time we go, the pies are sublime and the fish is not greasy.

I would give it a score of five, as the food is always great? But recently it appears they are getting more people with big orders turn up, who hand over lists, or even telephone ahead and then don't have to queue

Me gusta mi pescado y patatas fritas de vez en cuando ir a por un regalo. Bewdley Pero cuando quiero algo local yo siempre aquí. Cada vez que asista a siempre hay una cola de salida de la puerta. El personal es muy amable, los precios no son caros y la comida es de primera calidad.

This Chip Shop is one on its own. Food is always perfect, piping hot, fresh and served with the a smile. Always have wonderful conversations with the owners and the staff and no matter what the food request, the standards are always high and met with glee. You never ever get a bad meal here. All freshly cooked by the friendly staff and you always get so much. Queues are sometimes long but it's well worth the wait, they soon go down.

I have been going here for years, is definitely the best chip shop for miles and would take some beating. We actually went to the coast for the weekend and thought we'd have some freshly caught fish with chips, my son said it was better at home. Says it all really!

There are, in my opinion, just three chippies in the Wyre Forest that are worth a visit and this is one of them. This is certainly the best in Stourport. The counter area is large, which means you're not queuing outside when it's busy. Staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is good - chips are not at all greasy and are always fresh. This review is based on numerous visits over the past year and the food and service are consistently good throughout quiet and busy periods.

Went to my usual Kebab place on DFS car park ( Charlie's) Monday but he was not there, so my Wife said where you fancy going then? I said I've heard some good reports about a Fish shop in Stourport on Tripadviser, so we both agreed to try it. Got there and I fancied a kebab but the quality and choice looked poor so I decided to have simple Cod and chips. It was really embarrassing waiting after this young lad walked in "Saying you know I don't usually complain but I found a long hair in my food" the manager refunded his money, but it was so embarrassing waiting after that moment. Any got the food home and the fish was just bone dry, probably the worst fish I've ever tried and it cost £6.20 with regular chips. My wife enjoyed her burger, but we both agreed it was our first and last visit, I never usually leave 1 star rated reviews, but this Cod must of been in that heater for hours on end it was just bone dry and terrible. I certainly can't see the hype of this fish bar.

Been using this great chippery for 15 + years now,various specials to choose from,along with kebabs,burgers chicken etc.Can get very busy at peak times (queuing out the door) but well worth the wait,parking can be also be a issue at times,save yourselves the stress and park in one of the side streets or further down Brindley Street.

I have been using Newtown Fish Bar for a number of years, every time the food is spot on. Always good value. Yes, some days there is a queue, but that is a sign of how good the food is! All those people queuing can't be wrong! Heartily recommend it to anyone. Nuff said.

We discovered this chippy some time ago and usually call in Friday or Sat about 7pm for the fish and chip special. It has always been the best fish and chips we have ever had in the midlands .... except ... we were passing about 5.10pm on Tuesday evening and ordered our usual. When we go it home we were so disappointed, the fish was dry and the batter not as usual, the chips were also dry and what happened to the mushy peas? it was just bright green liquid with the odd pea ... to top it off the lady who served us (who we hadn't seen before) put that much salt on we had a couple of bites and binned the rest. It might just be that it was the time we went as usually everything is lovely ..... will still use them but perhaps not at 5 o'clock .....

The staff are always helpful and welcoming.Weekend's can be busy at tea time, overall it's very popular, I'd go as far as saying that it's the best fish and Chip shop in stourport on Severn.

You only have to see the queue of people every evening to know how popular this chippy is.Massive selection of items and is well staffed so your never kept waiting long.

The length of the queue says it all about this place. The quality and quantity are "spot on". Their staff have been with them for a long time and there are a lot of them needed to keep the queue moving and its all done with a smile . The range of the menu is extensive and you need some time in the queue to decide on what to choose. Faultless springs to mind but don't take my word for it ,the queue says it anyway. They say the proof of the pudding is in the eating .Try it once and you'll be back for a second helping of pudding (or should that be plaice?).Their prices are more than reasonable

Always consistently good chippy. The evening special is cheap and plentiful, we normally share one. The staff and owners are so friendly and you get a warm welcome when you go there. I recommend if your are in town it's worth popping in.

Mixed meat kebab and chips to die for, fish that melts in your mouth, friendly staff who remember your faves and how you like ur chilli sauce . To be honest if I wasn't on a diet I'd be in there every week. Plenty of choice and excellent value specials, well worth the wait in the queues (which do go down quickly). Give it a go.

Back in the dim and distant past I ran a bloomin good Chippy, if I do say so myself.Until now I've never found an equal.This family run business is busy all the time, which speaks for itself. This is the finest food I have ever eaten from a chip shop! The fact there is always a queue tells the story of just how high the standards are regarding every item on the menu. DONT BE PUT OFF BY THE QUEUE. Although it is very rare there is not a line of people waiting to be served , the fact they are always fully staffed means the waiting time is short. Top quality food, top quality service, top quality full stop!

been going here for years, have tried the rest as they say, but we keep going back even though its a little way out of town, very good selection and food always tastes good and fresh. only downside is there popularity means that you often have to queue even though they have at least 5 people serving, parking is also fun, as the road is narrow and people park stupidly on both sides of the road.

I use the Newtown chippie on a regular basis, I normally have the mini fish special with Chinese curry sauce that comprises: two mini fish and chips in a tray together with a carton of the aforementioned curry sauce all for £3-80.It is worth my ten minute + drive during which I pass several other outlets of a similar nature to get what I sincerely believe to be the best fish and chips in Stourport where I am served by great staff who are always polite, cheerful and efficient. From a selfish point of view I was reluctant to report how good this place is in case the waiting time increases due to increased business.
