Cheap fish and chop shop. Food was ok and they normally have deals on.

Food nice but never very hot as this isn't the first time we've had the same experience. Just warm when eating it.

Food was grim, chips are like they've been dipped in oil for about 2 minutes. Massive piece of cartrlidge in the sausage. I won't put photos on as it will put them out of buisness it's that bad. Scallops like wet newspaper. Best part of it was the condiments. True to avoid this place if you can't cook chips you need a change of buisness. All around grim 😕

Most the food was lovely however i was highly disappointed that there was bone in my chicken kebab

Mushy peas were watery, fish, well tasted funny and small which I ordered large, curry sauce, well that was thicker than the mushy peas and chips, just chips, soggy. The onion rings, well must have been bought from Iceland, small, thin, tasteless. No very hot either. Suffice to say, worst fish and chips ever had, certainly not worth the £20 paid!

Great little chippy. The menu is limited (basic British selection and some kebab options) but what they do, they do well. Staff are super friendly and the cost is really reasonable. If I ever just fancy a kebab or some fish and chips this is usually the place I'll go.

If you go to Newton le willows then this is the place for you, banging kebabs and the best cheeseburger iv eaten in a while and I can put it away! 10/10, all must get This down you

second time we have ordered from here and we were a little disappointed. delivery was on time but we were missing items .the cheese and onion pie was absolutely disgusting it was off qe had to throw it away .chips good and hot but would properly not other again sorry

Not been here for years, went lunchtime got chips,peas and gravy, big portion,had one hard chip but over all it was nice! Ordered again special kebab 10.50 n defo not worth the money, alittle bit of chicken n a tiny bit of kebab meat,chips I didn't ask for n no salad n the pita bread u can get from any supermarket was not worth the money at all! The meat it's self was okay

I placed an order for collection just a simple large fish. Upon arrival I asked for my order and seen the most anorexic, unappetising piece of fish waiting to be wrapped. I asked for salt only on my fish and he proceeded to put salt and vinegar on the food. It was greasy and the fish tasted funny. I will not order from here again.

Food was cold chips some cooked half of them hard and the other under cooked and soggy fish was bland and one fish was hard and cold the fillet of fish burger is the same as the fish samdwich just diffrent price never got my pineapple fritter and old I did not as banana fritter batter had salt and vinager on it so binned most of the order how is this place still open the delivery man was nice and friendly

Vile! How they can sleep knowing they've served up such terribly bad food is beyond me. The chips were disgusting, mostly black, some reheated, some uncooked, they went in the bin. The "large" fish was certainly not large, it was tiny, it wasn't cod nor haddock, I'd say it was hake, and the batter stuck to the paper it came in.

Under recent new ownership, this chippy has improved 100%, food is now back up to quality, the place is far cleaner and the staff more friendly - if this chippy disappointed you over the last few years I recommend you give it a retry ...soon

Ordered food then received an abrupt phone call saying order cancelled no driver yet I received no refund!

What a hidden gem. Tucked away from the limelight in a back street of Earlestown. Absolutely fantastic. Like going back to my childhood. Top quality and sensible prices.

Chips, Donner meat and gravy... all luke warm. Tasted fine though, just pinged it in the microwave for a minute.

The food was horrible and we couldn't eat it, I put it in the trash. No taste, no texture, the fries raw and greasy, horrible, waste of money.

Sausage was cold went in the bin chips look like they been there from yesterday and again luke warm. Will not be going back in a hurry.

Hit and miss with this one. I've had a good takeaway and a bad takeaway.

Best Pizza i have had!... i was informed on delivery I was the first to order their Pizza... and it is easily one of the best takeaway pizzas i have ever had!!.. and im fussy!

Absolute dog food chips all burnt half of them green and the sausage tasted like saw dust! Pathetic, avoid. Went straight in the bin! And I'm not a fussy eater. That was on another level, nearly walked out when I saw him put the chips in the tray. Wish I had now.

The place has new owners and they know how to cook chips properly, like it used to be in the 90's. Not greasy. Lovely staff behind the bar. Lunch time is busy so if you're short for time I'd order online and collect 😊

disappointing dont waste ur money food harf hour late stone cold had to heat it up my self and dont waste ur money on the kababs i had a chicken kebab and all i got was harf a chicken brest on a dryed pitta if u can call it that taste like cardboard and that was it on it that cost me £7.30p well got robbed im fuming if i new thats all i would of got for £7.30p i wouldn't of even got it first time haveing food from there and never agen getting from there robbed blind shocking

Best fish in Durham. This used to be terrible but new owners and its loads better than bells. You get a huge fish fresh cooked

Ordered 2 kebabs, cheap at £6.50 for the two, piping hot with plenty of salad, lovely bag of chips too. Counter staff were pleasant and the order was prepared quickly. Decent size portions and plenty of choice at this chippy, the fish is really tasty

Went in there accidentally gave him 2 tens and I instantly said I give you 2 tean and he said no and he put the money in the draw and made the food poorly the order was £8.34

Small little chippy with decent selection of food. Chips aren't the best but lack of chippies in the near vicinity means you don't really have a choice. Prices are pretty good though

Awful. Doesn't really reach 1 star. First time I have ever been and I will not be returning. Pudding was overcooked and cold, chips cold, peas watery, gravy tasteless and I have no words for the fish. All went in the bin.

I've enjoyed many a good lunch and evening meal here over the years, but on my recent occasion, the quality of the food was below standard. 2 x Fish and chips for my wife and I. One fish had been standing in the cooking range upon arrival and turned out to be dry inside and less than piping hot. The other fish was quite nice but a touch too greasy. The chips tasted like something else had been cooked in the fat previously. 2 staff and 2 other customers did not wear face masks. Sorry Newton Fish bar, others do it better

I went to this chip shop for me and my kids dinner today got home chips cold like they been in the fridge awfull food. sausage burnt fish cakes burnt all in all it was bad and all in the bin i give it no stars safe to say wont be going their again

Phoned order through, ordered the Newton special, asked for, not a lot of batter on the small fish, these instructions was ignored. Got other items off the menu, mushy peas and fruity curry and overall food was ok and good value for money, food was ready when expected. For future reference, I will ask again, for less batter on fish on collection. I will still return here again.

Curry was water. Rice was awful. Everything was the lowest quality and I can't believe I paid that much. Will never go there again.

Always enjoy the food from here - it's good and inexpensive. It's my local chippy, been going there for years now, the chips never disappoint!

Since the change in staff and owner it looks like this once great chippy is not even a shadow of what it used to be. Waste of time and money, the pricing a fair for the area but rubbery chips basically water for gravy just awful. Will not be going back until something changes (threw away the meal wouldn't even give it the dog)

I called into the Newton Fish Bar for a spot of tea whilst waiting in Earlestown for a connecting train back to North Wales. It's not the most convenient takeaway for the station, in fact it's about the least convenient one, but I really fancied pie and chips so off I went. The pie was actually really small but in fairness I knew this as all the pies were on display in the range. The meal was however surprisingly filling, and cheap as chips as well, and it all went down a treat. I'm not sure if or when I'll be in Earlestown again but I'd consider returning for more if the opportunity ever arises.

Place is nice and clean, and the counter staff were friendly and inviting, I bought donner meat with chips and a good old bit of mayo, it was pretty tasty although slightly overpriced compared to alternative take aways / chip shops in the newton area.

Always go here as you can stay in and sit at a table and have you meal on a plate...the fish here is the best by far in our area.

Went at 21:36 couldn't order chips or kebabs as they close at 22:00 hrs. Won't go again. Over 20 mins to close and couldn't serve. Rubbish chip shop. Wonder if any other business would turn u away. What a joke.

called in today as we went to the market had.mini fish and chips meal really tasty and excellent value for money. £5 each for fish, chips and mushy peas with a round of bread and butter and a cup of tea. wow. and it's incredible. tasty meal, nice staff and clean premises. worth a visit
