Newport Fish Bar and Chinese takeaway in Lincoln

An excellent chippy with a wide choice of the usual and also chinese food on the menu. I got sausage, chips and curry sauce for £5.20, and it was delicious. The chips were done perfectly and the curry sauce is chinese style and very tasty. The service here is also worth a big mention as the lady behind the counter (I presume the owner) is very friendly and welcoming, which was much appreciated by a hungry and tired customer. You can sit at a small table inside to eat your food as well, another good reason to visit and I made use of it. It's a couple of minutes from the cathedral so perfect if you're visiting the historical part of Lincoln and want a good, traditional chippy meal at low prices. If you're in the area then I'd say it's definitely worth a look.

Woman at the front is very rude. Food is lovely though. It’s a shame she ruins it. Going to give my money elsewhere. Place looks like a mental asylum

Pretty decent place, had a nice large haddock, chips were cooked well (how they should be) and to top it off, the side of chinese curry sauce was 👌🏽 Highly reccomend the same combo. Would have been 5 stars if the fish was less greasy.

Great place for fish and chips, and Chinese food. Expect to wait a while for the Chinese but worth the wait. Lovely people own run the place. Never had a bad meal from there.

We have found that the Chinese takeaway is the better option. I suspect that the greater choice may have a bearing on that. In all it's very good.

Very fast. I go there all the time. Has many vegan options and the English chips are vegan too!! The lady that serves you is so nice and the staff are never shouting or argueing. I go there for vegan Chinese food and also just normal English chips. Not greasy at all. Great prices and service. Allows cash and card. Good opening hours. There is seating inside while you are waiting but you are not waiting long ever!

Had A prawn and black bean sauce, n boiled rice just a little less rice. 5/5 Hubby had Beef,Ginger and spring onion boiled rice perfect best hes tasted. Had pancake role bit to filling. Nice tex to say takeaway was ready 5/5 We go there for fish/chips,chips n fishcake lady is so nice etc. Everything is 9/10

Highly recommend, this is a nice little chinese with chip shop. The salt and pepper chips were lovely. The sweet and sour prawn balls were much more like battered prawns in chip shop batter though. Nice but I would try a different dish next time! It is also open on a Tuesday when Leon isn't

This is our go to for fish and chips and Chinese food, service is always friendly and we have never been disappointed with our meal.

Could do with a deep clean. Fish is battered in same batter as sweet and sour chicken balls. Very heavy, might be enjoyed by some but i prefer more fish to batter.

Best chicken curry I've had for age's

Chips are lovely and I also order sweet and sour sauce with it, as both are gluten free: important as I am coeliac. Love the curry sauce but sadly can't eat it.

Newport fish bar... where do we start? the fish has way too much batter dusty yute. The fish just wasn't fishing.... tasted like cat. I ordered a portion of chips and found a dead sardine... i am allergic to sardines... i puked all over my 2 month newborn and it choked to death..... Long line jebbadiah

Always greeted with a smile from a lovely lady who serves us. Chips are delicious from here . Nice indoor seating area. Even get tomato ketchup , as well as salt and vinegar!

Absolutely stunning food, one of the most immaculate and clean fish shops in Lincoln. Always come back for more, never had a bad experience. Family owned and independent. Some of my friends came to Lincoln for a visit and we came here for Fish, Chips and Peas (stunning batter) and my friends thought they'd literally just had a refit, I had to explain that it's ALWAYS been so clean and fresh! Just picked up Chicken Satay..Mushroom Chow Mein and Chips Iv had to throw it all away. The chicken pieces were the texture of jelly. Really slimey and tasteless. Chow mein had a hint of sweat Chips made from old potatoes Absolutely disgusting

Good portion of food at reasonable prices. Had garlic and mushroom chowmein, small chips and pepper diced fish. The chowmein was nice but the diced fish was mostly fried batter with very few chunks of fish peices here and there....though the stir fried veggies with it were delicious! The takeaway was clean and social distancing and safety measures were in place.

Equally as good as the very good Elite f/chip place but at half the price.

had chips from here a week ago and there were amazing. today my girlfriend ordered large chips and medium chips battered sausage and battered burger. the chips were under cook. still hard. shame as the first was amazing. needed 2 more minutes.

Always go to this chip shop, our personal opinion is that it's better than a well known one, on burton road. The portion sizes are good and the staff are friendly. So we would reccommend this one.

Best chippy in Lincoln by far, and right near the cathedral too. Curry sauce is Chinese style and really tasty. Chips are always done just right and plenty of them. Service is with a smile, and it's a genuinely friendly welcome. They have a couple of tables inside if you want to eat there. If you're visiting Lincoln I'd definitely give this place a try.
