New Yorker Dark Kitchen in Manchester

Ordered it at 4am pissed and arrived 2 hrs late and I was sober with the wrong order, still leng though

Didn't even go inside as there was no seating it has been moved to a new location and was joint with another takeaway.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting the New Yorker and I must say, the service was absolutely abysmal. It is with great disappointment that I write this review, as I had heard positive things about this establishment in the past. However, my encounter left me feeling frustrated and disheartened. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive throughout the entire evening. It was as if they were completely unaware of the customers' needs and preferences. My attempts to engage with them were met with indifference, which further exacerbated my frustration. Furthermore, the overall ambiance of the restaurant was far from inviting. The atmosphere felt stale and unwelcoming, which significantly impacted my dining experience. It is unfortunate that a restaurant with such potential fails to create an environment that is enjoyable for its patrons. Given my experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the New Yorker to anyone. There are numerous other dining establishments in the area that offer far superior experiences, and I would encourage anyone seeking a pleasant evening to steer clear of this disappointing establishment.

Decent food but ridiculously over priced, like £12 for a burger. Drinks taste of cleaning product.

Excellent customer service, average food. Ordered Dirty Burger it was more like Clean Burger. Extremely thin chicken fillet. However, buffalo wings were nice. I will give another try and depending on that experience will update my review.

Absolutely atrocious, staff had 0 care for customers, more focused on eating the stock crouched behind the milkshake area, tables had less stability than Theresa Mays cabinet, trays and utensils were filthy, drink sizes were far too small for an "American" diner and the food. Not only did it have way too much salt (seriously think it's given me high BP) but somehow managed to vacuum your sense of taste away, but still managed to taste like hell. Do yourself a favour. Walk 5 minutes and go to KFC. Less greasy, less expensive and at least has some element of taste. I do not know how this place is still open, but from what I saw of how many customers go in and out, it won't be for long. And thank heavens for that.

The most amazing food shop in the town. My favourite. Staff is really polite and helpful. The place is really cool. Nice music on everytime. Foods taste is awesome. Quality food with a lot of variety.❤❤❤

Had some food here. Tebles were oily. Toilet was in bad state. Too much sauce on the burgers and not enough tissiues. 1 out of 5 for food taste.

Bought chicken wings, thay tastlass so went into bin, waste of money. Don't ever go!

Service absolutely shocking. Placed our orders and was then left for well over 45 minutes. Went to enquire as to where our food/drinks were and was handed what we had ordered. Milkshakes look nothing at all like on the menu but are actually very nice. Can't really say much about the waffle as it was cold and dried out. Unsure why they give you a device to alert you as to when your order will be ready when it clearly doesn't work and they don't bother to come and let you know your order is ready. There was no one else in at the time so it's not like they were busy. Also only have one toilet which was out of order! Won't be going again.

I never write reviews but this place is just amazing the staff are very welcoming especially the young lady at the desk she's so friendly. :) The cheese burgers they offer are gourmet and the prices are very good. perfect place to go out with friends xxx 10/10

Went to eat at this place yesterday honestly the best burger diner in the whole of Manchester the staff are very nice and the place is very clean, unlike other places in the area :/ The milkshakes at this place are definitely worth trying you won't regret it. p.s The I forgot to mention the young lady at the desk was very welcoming so thank you for helping to find my phone which I had left behind :) we need more people like you x

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!! Date of visit: 11/02/2020 19.05pm I was looking forward to eating a nice burger, but instead it turned out to be a pink raw burger. After showing the lady at the till the pink meat, she said it was usually like this, so I continued to eat the and burger but felt like the very rare burger was uncooked and made me feel sick. I went to the lady at the front again as I was concerned I would get ill from eating raw meat who repeated that they are usually like this. The chef inside started arguing with me saying that it is normally like this and that there's nothing else he can do. He did not offer to cook the meat further for me, replace the burger for free or even offer a refund to an unsatisfied paying customer, which would have been the decent thing to do. I never complain or review food places but was compelled to do so in this situation as this was the first time I have ever been served uncooked meat. Save yourself the hassle of poor food by avoiding this place at all costs!

AMAZING FOOD! Best Diner in Manchester!!! Not only does the great atmosphere and service set this place apart from other diners in Manchester but you can taste the genuine quality in meat throughout their menu. Would definitely recommend to tourists who are looking for a place to eat as well as workers/students who need a quick bite to eat as their huge menu has a variety of options as well as the amazing desserts!! 10/10 Would definitely recommend

I went there yesterday, first time going here and NEVER AGAIN!! Before ordering food, I see a rat scurry around!! The chef was just looking at the rat like it was his friend. Obviously this place has seen rats before. This place needs to be looked at. Good job I didn't buy any food and ran out the place as fast as I could. This place looks appealing but seeing the rat just made me want to throw up!

It has an underground hipster, retro cafe vibe especially considering you’ve gotta go downstairs to get to the diner. They have some really good lunchtime saver offers, so it’s even more of a reason to pop by. On our outing, we filled our tummies with; Bklyn Boy [£7.99] - (or said as Brooklyn Boy :P ) We’re loving combo dishes at the moment because it’s so difficult with the good food out there, so we got ourselves a beef and chicken mash up. The sweet, chilli (Chipotle) mayo gives it that nice spicy kick you know you’re craving and with both the chicken & beef patty cooked the right amount, this is the meal you’re after Badman Burger [£8.49] - Drool alert with double buttermilk chicken fillets and sriracha sauce, because why have one when you can have two. The gherkins add a twang to this dish and we enjoyed this Kickin’ Wingers x5 (Bbq Jerk) [£2.99] - The wings were fried (no batter) and were in such a yummy sauce, quite tangy and sweet. Not a usual flavour we go for and definitely glad we tried it All the burgers can be made into meals for an extra £1.99 (pick a side and drink). Our sides were New Yorker Fries and Creamy Mash. The Fries were good but the mash seemed like a standard boxed mash so if in doubt, go for the fries If only we had space left to eat more because we were so intrigued by the Peanut Buttercup Fries...watch this space! Sort your service staff, read and action customer notes for online orders and you'll have it sorted. Really good burger (The Dirty Harry) and cheesy chips. £3.59 for a Lemonade Snapple...I won't walk straight for a week!

Horrible place I’ve ever been . It took 30 minutes for a tea and a milkshake despite that it was dead quiet. The milk inside the tea had gone off and when they changed it ,was same again.and milkshakes mashin wasn’t working . They didn’t refund us despite asking them instead the old guy was working there started fighting with us . I asked for the manager they said it’s not here .they didn’t care and no one even apologised or tried to make it up and we had to leave

It's cheap, it's quick and the fries are great

Stumbled across this gem in the heart of Manchester and wow, was pleasantly surprised! Order the “Dirty Harry” and it proved true to it’s name as my hands were destroyed at the end of this meal. Very filling, each ingredient cooked perfectly and the chipotle sauce merged the flavours together really well.

Standard burger, fillets were inconsistent and the burger finished pretty quick. Chicken was pretty dry, extra sauce definitely added on. Havent tried the beef, but would advise it instead.

Shocking ! I don’t even know how to describe this place Food is horrible , cold , presentation is awful ! My friend ordered a mean and all she got was a small piece of chicken and a tiny bit of rice The way they presented it was like they’re putting food for a dog to eat ! You really need to work on this And waiting time is long as well , staff have no idea what they’re doing

The 4 stars are for the burger, which I would definitely come back for; I'd give the cleanliness 5 stars, but the ambience and service only 3 stars. I thought the prices were average to slightly high, however the burger I had was well worth it. I ate in and had the Dirty Harry burger. It was really good, chicken was nicely cooked in a crisp coating, beef was also nicely done, and the pickles, lettuce and bun were good. I was asked if I wanted spicy or mild and chose mild; the sauces were tasty and possibly a little more than mild, but they suited the burger excellently and were not too spicy. I didn't receive, and couldn't see, any serviettes. The tray the burger was served on was quite small, making using a knife and fork unsuitable; eating the burger wasn't the tidiest activity so I ended up with quite sticky fingers. The rest room had a "sorry out of order" sign (which did not apparently apply to staff), so I left with my fingers still sticky. The ambience wasn't great - tables quite plain and some looking a bit rough and old, but they were very clean; the staff were very quick to clear and clean after customers left. The decor was average (although possibly just not to my taste? Less adventurous as I get older?) Taking away would have been fine, I probably would have given 5 stars. If I have enough time I'll definitely come back and try something else from their menu.

Not happy with my experience at New Yorker, over priced and food quality is horrendous. Won’t be coming again! Knicking people with very low quality food. Service is okay food is not up to standards and very weird smell in seating.

The food looks amazing however quality and taste is a different matter. - eating in - ordered 2 burgers and 2 hot dawgs between us all The food was barley warm except the chips which were hot The buns felt stale I think they microwave there food as it felt rubbery and how microwaved takeout tastes Whilst we only waited 5-7mins for the food i think it was because they only cook the chips fresh. Milkshake was decent No toilet paper and when asked they said no we don't have any.

Upon arrival the lady was miserable and just awkward. Making the customer experience journey a poor one. The service and food over all was more or less appalling. I have Crohn’s disease and needed to use the lavatories, to find there’s no toilet paper! I asked the same member of staff and they claimed to not have any and walked away. The food was plain, tasted like it was microwaved and barely warm. Only the milkshake was nice. Genuinely disappointed as I looked forwards to it!

I had the Dirty Poutine (Poutine with fried chicken strips on top. pictured) and a milkshake. The food and the drink were really nice. The service was quick and the staff were welcoming. Didn't have to wait too long for my food either. Reasonably priced as well. The place looks small on the outside but actually has a fair amount of tables and room. No complaints.

Awful service tonight,the young girl really couldn't be bothered, talk about lack of customer skills, toilets out of order, so nowhere to wash my hands before the meal, chef (and I use that term very loose) stood at the top of the stairs smoking so his filthy cigarette smoke came down the stairs into the restaurant, the ketchup and mayo squeezy bottles filthy and caked in old crusty ketchup and mayo, obviously not been cleaned all day,the food is really nothing special, in all its best avoiding this place

Service incredibly slow, food only average

Place looked small upon enter but was suprised to see they had a nice little restaurant. Menu was big but not too bad, and you had to go to the counter to order. Got the grilled chicken and beef mix burger which was quite nice. Chicken was grilled with a nice spicy sauce and beef tasted fresh. Would recommend to try, only criticism would be the portion size as they are slightly small and the food is given on a tiny plate, and also the service as it does take a bit of time to take your order however this is understand as they only have 2 tills to what I believe.

Food was excellent and I also liked the concept. Food served in metal trays and plates and authentic Decor. I recommend the Brooklyn burger with mash and chicken gravy. Really yummy.

Friendly staff; prompt service; good food

I tried the dirty burger and to be honest did not enjoy it. The chicken was dry and had a bitter taste. Chips were average, under a fiver I could live with it but at £8 I won't be trying that again.

Would give -1 star if I could. Got my order wrong, delivered to the wrong hotel, missed every item other than the hotdog which looked like it had been made by a 5 year old... I called to get the items missed from my order, no answer, I walked over to find them closing almost an hour early!

Honestly quite disappointing, I had high Hope's but as you enter it reminds me of a dodgy pub tha reminds me again of a prison oh and let's not forget that disaster of a bathroom. Siting down in the establishment isn't so bad, the food was not the best by any means I expected a nice crispy chicken burger where as I actually got a soggy floppy piece of chicken that hung of the bun, the chicken is clearly really cheap because if you wanted to put in effort the chicken would have been a nice white colour and crispy however the chicken had a gray look to it and didnt taste or feel too good in my mouth, the soft drinks are extremely small and the milk shakes arent all that good, next time I'll go to KFC. The one star is because I cant go any lower.

Burgers are ok, but nothing special. Hot dogs are school dinner level for the sausages. Chicken nuggets are the same as McDonald's (which is not a complement). Add to that service so bad I was expecting to hear Gordon Ramsy shouting at people.

Sitio para comer hamburguesas. Un poco de gordos y a un precio relativamente barato. Han sabido captar lo fundamental de la comida americana por lo tanto. Si tenéis hambre podeis pedir una hamburguesa wue si se cae salpicas la mesa de al lado. Esta bien ubicada y sirven rápido. Tienen postres de esos que si le acercas un mechero explota de las calorias que tiene. Si tienes problema para subir escaleras te costara bajar y cuando comas te costará subir.

Excellent customer service and the food was delicious!! I had to wait a little bit but when I got to my hotel the lady who served me had left me a note on my waffle box apologising for the delay which I thought was really sweet of her. I would recommend and definitely will return!!!

The decor was excellent, but the food wasn't as good as I was expecting. I was hyped after hearing the opinion of one of my friends and I was left fairly disappointed. The buns really let the burgers down. If they had used better quality bread, the food would have been 4*. On the plus side, the chips were nice and crunchy. The restrooms were also out of service, which was another negative point against NYD.

The only fancy thing about the food is their names. Apart from that it's no different than a regular takeaway and actually worse in some aspects

Food was OKAY. Toilets were out of order, but there was no sign to tell you. They were just locked. We only found out after ordering food, and only because we had to ask. Not good when your dining in with food and drinks.

Was walking thinking of lunch and I crossed this place. Seemed really nice with the branding and decor so had a look at the menu. They seemed to be primarily focused on burgers. Wanted to try it. I ordered the flammin madman chicken burger with fries and soda. It was 5.98£. Seemed reasonable. But the taste wasn't unique. It tasted just like a regular burger from fast food chains. I would like to see them creating their own specialities on the menu. The service was okay.

The portion of food wouldn’t be enough for a 10 year old plus the size of the drink is shocking. Its not worth the price as i paid 8£ and i felt like I didn’t eat lunch yet only the starter

My experience here was honestly so disgraceful we had to leave. The manager was extremely rude. I ordered a milkshake a nd asked how long it would be, she told me 5 minutes and to take a seat. 15 minutes later she said another 5 minutes this started to annoy me as there where other customers who ordered the same as got seen too straight away. It was like she had forgot my order. I then went back up again for the las t time and asked her how long it would be a d she said sorry we have no Buenos left but I had seen some when i first entered the shop hence why I ordered a Buenos milkshake. I asked for a refund and she rolled her eyes at me and huffed as if I was in the wro ng. Customer service skills here are shocking. Definitely do not recommend anyone to go here.

Fantastic food and service! The staff are extremely welcoming and will make you feel as comfortable as they possibly can. I would highly recommend getting a dirty burger and the presedent shake. Lovely place to go for a meal with friends or family.
