New World in Bromley

We went by recommendation and had a bad experience. Only 2 servers , they tried their best , but clearly couldn’t cope . One was dressed in jeans and a rain jacket, as if pulled from a different area . Mixed starter , was ok , but crispy seaweed too salty . Our daughters main fish came at the same time as the starter and I had to ask to take it back . Our main came when we hardly had finished our starter. My chicken in teriyaki sauce was hardly recognisable, looked pale and was fatty .Unappetising, I tried a few pieces, but ended up just eating the onions. My daughter had crispy Chili beef , too crispy , no beef detected. My husband had beef in oyster sauce, a few tender pieces, but the rest was very tough . Even the special fried rice looked like plain rice with a few bits thrown into it . There was clearly an issue that evening with a restaurant that had many great reviews, but honestly this was the worst meal we have had in a very long time . We would have understood if an explanation had been given. Very disappointed .

Excellent authentic chinese food. Fisherman Style King Prawns were particularly delicious. There are many unusual authentic chinese dishes at the back of the menu :-)

Ordered a take away. Phoned 3 times and they said it was on its way each time. 2hrs later phoned again and they hadn’t even made the order. Said it would’ve another half an hour making it 10pmafter ordering at 7:30. We cancelled the order had no hint of an apology. Absolute disgrace

Takeaway meal: our usual place, TenTen (good) was closed so thought give this place a go. The salt and pepper tofu was inedible. Small chewy over cooked fried chunks. Really awful and I’m fair. I couldn’t eat it the tofu and ended up opening up a box in the fridge and eating it! The broccoli was tasty bit over cooked. We spent £40 on a take away and £15 was on the tofu, 2 portions, (we had high hopes). Never again.

Friendly local chances with an extensive menu and fair sized portions. Well worth exploring vegetarian options like '3 earthly treasures' a dish with aubergine, potato and peppers. Also recommend the chicken with peanut in spicy paste and the prawn with ginger and onion. The sweet and sour vegetable dish was not to our taste. Will be revisiting!

Really great service, great atmosphere and g great food! One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to locally! Staff were helpful and accommodating and I will be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family!

I ordered a takeaway for the first time and I chose very carefully, taking time to look at all the reviews, and came across good reviews for this restaurant. Sorry to say we were very disappointed. I was looking forward to find a reliable good Chinese as we would normally order a Chinese takeaway once a month and had gone off our usual one. The food was only just warm not very big potions and we were disappointed as not very tasty either. it was a bit more expensive than we usually spend. Personally we will not order again. Back to the drawing board I guess.

Totally shocked at this restaurant overall. Since moving here in 2021 I’ve always walked past repeatedly telling everyone how much I’d love to try this restaurant one day. Especially with a Chinese being my favourite takeout/eat out. Totally disgusted at the fact we didn’t given menus until about 25 mins after arriving when other people who arrived after us got their menus straight away. After eventually getting our menus and ordering drinks. The drinks tasted so watered down we may as well have just ordered water. We booked this reservation for 6:30pm and got there just before. After ordering food, we still didn’t receive prawn crackers for another 90+minutes. As this was my birthday meal there were a good group of us there, so we took that into consideration with the timings for the food but still at 8:20pm we were only just starting to get our rice which was freezing cold. By this time the children we had with us were starving and tired as it was getting late for them as well as us adults now getting frustrated as we’re also hungry. Granted we were given free drinks each but even then it still took them ages to start to bring anything out. Most of the people on my table didn’t get their mains and just cold rice that we had to send back. Most of the dishes that eventually was brought out, they didn’t even know what meal belonged to who or if the special allergy requirements were met or not. Everyone on tables around us that had come in after had their menus given straight away as well as drinks, not to mention that they had eaten their food way before us which I find shocking! The manager wasn’t very helpful at all and didn’t seem to know what was going on in the restaurant that they was supposed to be managing. Maybe we had just gone there on a bad evening but it had totally ruined by birthday evening that was supposed to be a lovely meal out with family and friends. They’ve definitely lost what would have been very loyal, regular customers! Like I said maybe we had just come there on a bad day but my personal review and opinion on the place is, unless you’ve not long eaten, it’s early enough and you don’t mind waiting hours for food to half come out. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant which is really gutting for me to be writing.

Lovely staff that were very accommodating. Food was lovely with lots of options. Good vegetarian variety. Great restaurant, will be coming back.

The atmosphere was very conducive to quiet discussion. Even though there were other diners we could hear each other talk which was important to us. We went on a Wednesday evening when it was not busy. Parking after 7pm on single yellow is free. The food was delicious very fresh tasty not too salty and very well presented. The service was great too. The young gentleman serving us was very pleasant. This is one of the best cooked Chinese foodI have ever tasted. Thank you.

My family has visited this Chinese restaurant last week, it locates in Orpington town, easy to find. We ordered to try different Chinese dishes, I have to say the food quality was good and also it wasn't expensive. Thank you for keeping your prices affordable.

The food at the Parkside is beautifully cooked and tasty, if rather on the expensive side. The service is also very good. Where they let themselves down is that the hot food is firstly put into cold dishes, from which you have to dish it up on to cold plates. By the time you get to second helpings, it's cooled off a lot and by the time you finish your meal it's cold. Last time I was here (some time ago) I suggested that they warmed their dishes and put a hotplate on the table as other, similar, establishments do. No action was taken. Although I really like this restaurant, I'm afraid I won't be back there until they've sorted this problem.

We have eaten at Parkside restaurant on numerous occasions and have had excellent food in a beautiful setting, with friendly staff. I would recommend this great restaurant for any occasion. We’ve taken our grandkids here. They are fussy eaters but they love the food, especially when they can help themselves from the ‘lazy susan’. Each time they try something new.

Hadn't been here for a few years and thought we would try it for a change. We decided to have the mixed platter starter for 2 and share 2 main courses. The mixed platter consisted of 2 prawn toasts, 4 tiny veg spring rolls, 2 small ribs, smoked shredded chicken and a small amount of seaweed. Although it tasted ok we were very disappointed with the portion size, especially when it cost £19. The main course of chicken with cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce had to be sent back as it did not contain a single cashew nut. The Singapore noodles were also a smaller portion than we would have expected. For a total of £36, without any drinks I wish we had gone to our usual Joy Kitchen were we get great food for a lot less money.

I would like to recommend this restaurant, it was very good experience and authentic Chinese food. I would love to come back again. Thank you for your hospitality.

We had the worst meal, satay chicken was watery and tasteless and minimal chicken , chips stale and cold , lamb dish minimum meat and just fat , cold sweet sauce no flavour , rice cold , just an absolute farce for the price , never again will I buy from here again, really need to up the quality, the reviews looked good and I think they have a supportive clientele, for this they really should try harder , anyway never again .

A wonderful evening spent at this lovely restaurant. We liked the atmosphere and the interior design, the service was very quick and the staff warm and helpful. The food tasted excellent, we particular liked the crispy aromatic duck! Look forward to returning back.

Aunque vivo en Bromley, estaba a solo 10 minutos en automóvil, pedí Crispy Duck with Pancakes, este es uno de mis favoritos.La niña dijo que estaría lista en 20 minutos.Llegué 15 minutos más tarde y a los pocos minutos me iba con mi pedido.Conduje a casa y apagué la comida que estaba muy caliente. I ordered chicken chow mein and egg fried rice as you can see there chow mein has NOT got medium egg noodles but fine noodles which was very dry. The egg fried tasted like plain boil rice not impressed

El estacionamiento es premium ya que está en el sistema de ida, Resturant está un poco descuidado por dentro, buena cantidad de chinos sentados en las mesas, la comida era buena, una selección muy amplia de diferentes platos regionales, de hecho, la gama más amplia que he visto en un Menú chino, no es barato, un poco caro en comparación con la norma, el servicio no es bastante lento de hecho, pero volvería a comer aquí ya que disfrutamos de la comida.

We've been here a number of times and like to try new things from the regional Chinese menu at the back. You would be hard pushed to find some of these dishes outside the most authentic Chinese restaurants in London. Every dish is deliciously cooked. I have food allergy which the restaurant caters for and the service is excellent.

Parkside Restaurant amazed me today. they provider real some Chinese Cuisine dishes that i never met before. It is so good and we spent 3 hours to enjoy our food. The environment is great, bright and clean everywhere and our table was beside the Glass wall through that we had great street view. The price is ok, not too expensive. we spent just about 25 pounds each person. The last is the waitress are nice and friendly. they spent a lot of time to introduce their manu and we finally got what we want.

we are here again .we have some friends be4 night out ,so quickly have lovely meals still enjoy sweet sour chicken and ribs in sauce ..delicious ..all staff friendly . we will come again

We took my dad to Parkside for his 60th birthday and aside from the delicious food, the staff went above and beyond to make our experience the best possible. Dad got a complimentary dessert and a small gift which he was very chuffed about! We had a lot of different dishes and they were all great, crispy shredded chilli beef gets a special mention. The price for the quality food is very reasonable, I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Chinese food!

Un grupo de 8 de nosotros visitamos Parkside anoche. Fue uno de los 50 cumpleaños de la multitud. Al llegar, había un par de mesas con gente, pero después de aproximadamente media hora de nuestra llegada éramos las únicas personas allí, ¡espero que no lo hayamos aclarado! Estuvimos allí a las 8 pm. El personal muy amable que nos cuidó muy bien. Bebidas pedidos tomados y alimentos pedidos tomados con eficiencia. Pedimos demasiado pero creo que todos lo hacen. Buenos menús y el pato vegetariano fue algo que nos sorprendió a todos. Las bebidas tenían un precio razonable. El único inconveniente era que junto al bar había una enorme pila de bolsas de lavandería junto con una gran cantidad de cajas cuadradas rojas de entrega. Aprecio que estas tengan que ir a alguna parte, pero fue una lástima verlo todo amontonado en lo que de otra manera Ha sido un restaurante muy elegante y limpio. Los baños eran agradables y limpios también.

Este es verdaderamente el mejor restaurante chino en Orpington. Me encanta la comida china y visité algunos lugares en esta ciudad, ¡el mejor restaurante es Parkside! Esta es nuestra comida local para llevar y realmente disfrutamos, pero mi compañero y yo decidimos comer el fin de semana pasado. La comida seguía siendo buena (aunque mejor cuando la llevaban) pero era extraño que el menú fuera completamente diferente al menú para llevar. El servicio era normal, me sentí un poco apresurado pero nada tan malo. Pensé que era bastante caro para lo que es, pero la calidad de la comida es buena que fue aceptada. Los inodoros no eran muy buenos, les vendrían bien algunos contenedores de basura adecuados y una buena limpieza.

Este es el mejor restaurante chino en Orpington! Hemos estado visitando este restaurante muchas veces y también pedimos su comida para llevar en base a la regulación. A mi familia le encanta la auténtica comida china y me gustaría recomendarte probar la lubina y el ajo pak Choi. ¡Muy sabroso! Y los rollitos de primavera vegetarianos y los frijoles de sal y pimienta son nuestros lugares favoritos para llevar.

Five of us had a dinner here on last Saturday, the restaurant is nice and clean. We had some authentic Chinese food, my mum loved the Sichuan boiled fish and I like the chicken with fried chili. It was a nice experience, definitely come back.

I love travel in the UK and see new places, I read about Parkside Restauratant in TimeOut monthly review and checked their colourful Instagram account. It was such a great experience, the waiter attitude was welcoming and polite, the starter and main course - both were very delicious and mouthwatering. I loved the authentic taste, it is very rare to find authentic Chinese food places in small towns in the Uk, Parkside reminded my food experience in the North China. I will recommend this place to other travel bloggers.

My son likes spare ribs and we'd almost given up on them as a takeaway dish because they've always been awful. We gave them one last go, by using Parkside. So glad we did, he really enjoyed them and will definitely order again.

Really nice Chinese food with friendly service. Restaurant maybe a little bit dated but it was clean and welcoming.

It was our first visit to Parkside and overall we thought it very good. Service was speedy and the food we ordered was tasty. Just one thing.......the man serving us was a bit grumpy! No smiles and didn’t really interact with us. It made you feel uneasy. A smile doesn’t cost anything and can make for a more pleasant meal.

I saw their Christmas advertisement in Parkside Instagram account and decided to invite my family to Parkside Restaurant, It was excellent experience. I tried Singapore Fried Rice, it tasted very good, my son tried Crab claws and Salt squid. The waiter was very helpful, he explained all in details, how food will taste and what side dishes go together.

Had a fantastic time celebrating my daughter's 21st. Food didn't disappoint. Will definitely be back.

I visited this restaurant after I saw their advertisement on Instagram. I have tried a traditional dish - Pork Belly Slices. I have to say it was very tasty and I would love to return back again. I also give my 5 stars to the Chef.

We found Parkside after looking for a Chinese in the area as the website and reviews looked great. The restaurant is very dated and not the cleanest. We ordered a selection of starters and mains to share and found the portions to be on the smaller size. It didn't matter in the end as the food was pretty much incredible. The sizzling lamb was chewy and very fatty. The grilled chicken dumplings were so watery inside they were very unpleasant to eat. Service was good but honestly it was the worst meal we've had in a long long time.

Highly recommend this restaurant, it is by far the best Chinese in the area. We have a takeaway once a week from here and the food is always good we especially like the smoked shredded chicken.

We have eaten in and had many take away meals from Parkside and the food is of a consistently high standard. The owners are lovely people and the restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

I simply cannot understand the bad reviews given to restaurant. We have eaten at Parkside on a number of occasions and the food has always bee fresh-tasting and delicious. Coupled with excellent service makes this our favourite, in fact we are off there tonight.

Ordered 4 dishes via the restaurant website. Szechuan beef, Sweet and Sour Pork (HK style), Salt and Pepper Tofu, Mixed Meat Ho Fun.

The take away we had tonight took 1 1/2 hours to arrive. We ordered sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and received sweet and sour pork. This was quite disgusting, hard, chewy batter which we were unable to eat. The pork chow mein had slices of pork which were hard and tasteless.The salty squid was supposed to be spicy but was not in the least! I do not intend to ever use Parkside again. Waste of money as most of it went in the bin

This is the best Chinese restaurant in Orpington by far! Friendly staff , good service food is delicious!

Normally very good however, tonight the takeaway was very disappointing. Singapore rice was gooey, sticky lacking flavour. The chef’s special of cumin lamb was undercooked and swimming in liquid. Feel like I’ve wasted my money tonight.

This was the best Chinese meal we have had for a long time and so glad we discovered this restaurant. They have quite an extensive menu and we were not rushed to make our choices. Although there was quite a big party in, our food came out in good time once we ordered and every dish was freshly cooked and piping hot. The staff were very friendly and took the time to speak with us.The atmosphere is very comfortable and the dining area spacious. We shall certainly return to try some more of this delicious menu. It really is a fantastic find!

Staff have a big effect on your enjoyment of a meal in a restaurant and it is amazing that so many people still don't realise this. We had a sullen male waiter, who couldn't be bothered to explain the menu, in particular the set menu. This may have biased our view of the place, but my meal I found very salty. Won't go back as I want an environment that is friendly and has people who care about what they serve.

I went there with friends last night. It was much better than I thought. I never thought there was a nice Chinese restaurant outside central London. The food is great and very local. The environment is nice and clean. I highly recommend it.

Very nice meal and dining environment! Food is fresh. The shop owner is so friendly and introduced the menu really well. the Chinese dish there is really tasty and authentic. They've got happy hour from Monday to Friday 5 to 6pm as well, after discount the price is relatively cheap compared with other Chinese restaurant
