New Sun Rise in Lewes

I threw my meal in the bin and didn’t enjoy it at all. Food was tasteless, noodles shrivelled and dried out, ribs were very fatty. We have enjoyed many Chinese takeaways from other establishments but this has to be one of the worst. Expensive and the whole lot went in the bin. Don’t be fooled by the expensive looking menus. Avoid!!

Has to be the WORST take away I have ever had the lots gone in the bin never ever again stay well clear.

This was my first order from the venue. The lady on the phone was friendly, helpful and patient while I searched for the sole payment option of cash on delivery (unexpected) - not great in current times. Chicken Gyoza - good, duck spring rolls - nice but only two rolls, salt and chilli squid - ate one, ‘binned’ the rest (dropped the rating from 4 stars to 3), salt and chilli prawn - excellent. Delivery timescale writhing the hour (reasonable on a Saturday night); arrived within 30 mins - outstanding!

Worst Chinese I've had around the area, food is tasteless or has too much sauce in it. Eg noodles had way too much soya sauce in and rice was full of oil. Ordered crispy chilli beef and it was soft and soggy and tasted nothing like chilli was more of a sweet and sour taste.

If you enjoy wasting good money on poorly cooked food, watered down tasteless sauces, half filled containers then go here..... If you wish to wait two hours plus for delivery then this is the place...... I suppose one plus is that you are not going to burn your mouth on the piping cold offerings cunningly disguised as a meal....... An anniversary treat ruined.... Christmas eve ruined.... My wife, a care worker was working Christmas day .... Some treat Eh..??? Finally... Do not be taken in by the fake concern and promises to get back from this place .... Dreadful,,,, Awful.... Horrendous......

The food is really delicious, everything is cooked really well, with excellent flavours and good value for money. That’s where the positive review stops. Despite the lovely food, the overall experience was very bad.

I love new sunrise. It has Chinese, Thai and Japanese. What more can you ask? At around £4.50 per main it's literally unbeatable. A huge range of starters.my personal favourite is the chicken satay. It's HUGE and 4 skewers. And the chicken Gyoza are stunning. Nice and cooked on the bottom with a crispy top. We often have the schezuan garlic chicken. Nice and tangy but spicy . The Cantonese beef is tender and lovely.there are alot of positives. The only negative is anything deep fried we have had, has been rock hard. The squid, chicken starter and the squid was so tough and overcooked. Hence the 4 stars. But call them and try it out

Some might find the food from this takeaway restaurant old fashioned, others simply classical: it doesn’t pander to tastebuds reared exclusively on curries and spicy pizzas unless you order accordingly. That said, every one of the six dishes we ordered last night was up there with the best we’ve had anywhere in England and Wales in the last 60 years, as were even the complimentary prawn crackers! That is a little beyond our usual expectations, but it never disappoints and is, for us, by far the best Chinese takeaway this town has to offer at the present time.

I have never eaten such a low standard meal. Not sure how this occurred but it really seemed to be poor quality products and ingredients that were cooked poorly and without any regards to the end product which was pretty much tasteless. There seemed to be no pride in what they were turning out. Come on and show some pride, enthusiasm and commitment in what you churn out. Check out the fifthy curtain between shop front and kitchen.... I should have known better. Sad, sad, sad.

My wife and I have just finished our first take a way from here and we both agreed this was the best Chinese we had in years. The beef was meaty and tasty, the ribs were huge and full of flavour, the duck was decent and the chicken balls were full of succulent chicken breast meat. Having tried most in seaford, Newhaven and Peacehaven, this one stood out and we will definitely be going back.

This place is for take away. We ordered 5 different dishes but none of them were good. One of the dish was too sweet, other dish contained fried meat which was too dry to eat. Others seasoning wasn't right. We will never go back.

We had a take away from the New Sun Rise last night delivered before the estimated time, piping hot and extremely delicious, kung po King prawms, mushroom chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, chicken curry and rice absolutely beautiful and plenty of chicken and prawns, highly recommended.

I have been a regular customer for several years, sometimes twice weekly. A couple of poor meals from time to time. 21.02.19 Inexcusable poor quality, rock hard prawn balls and lumps of bone and fat posing as ribs. You cannot serve such stuff without knowing it. Just one look will tell you. No valuing of the customer: no second chance - I'm off.

So impressed. Food excellent, delivered fast and huge portions. Would have awarded 5 stars but for the fact a sauce was missing necessitating a phone call, whereupon it was quickly despatched Knocks spots off all the other local Chinese takeaways Will be using from now on

Been eating takeaways only from here since I moved to seaford. Always been fantastic. Got one tonight however and it wasso good. Phoned up the restaurant and spoke to a lovely lady who listened carefully and was very polite and sympathetic. She apologised and was absolutely genuine. She gave me credit to buy another meal and was absolutely brilliant!! Please go there even if one time isn't as good as the last time. They care. I will go there again because of her.

Had a takeaway from The New Sunrise Friday 9th Feb. Have to say it was the worst takeaway I've ever had. After tasting it went straight in the bin.

We ordered for the third time a takeaway from here and felt the overall experience was not as good specially as this was our biggest order and placed early at 6.00pm one hour before required.Young lady not over friendly, general attitude that came across on the phone was to take it or leave it really couldn't have cared a damm if we ordered or not.On arrival no eye contact and she let me wait whilst she chattered to the young delivery lad waiting near by, not about business may i add!Food ordered for a specific time, arrived 15 mins early and found it just sitting on the side.Food quality mixed the crispy duck, chicken with ginger and spring onion, special fried rice, Ebi Katsu, Crispy Seaweed & Prawn Toast all good. Teriyaki Chicken, Satay Chicken, vegetable Gyoza disappointing.Cash as the only form of payment this day and age especially when you are spending £40 odd. Another negative for us was the £5.00 delivery charge we felt was not very customer friendly on that quantity of food so early, especially as the driver was sitting around bored.The decor in the place i noticed does look tired and lighting poor, not over welcomingWe will probably not use this place again sadly as we felt the success of TA has made them blasé, resulting in undervaluing the customer experience. Its a real shame as they were so good before and we told all our friends that it was the best takeaway for many miles!

This was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. It cannot be faulted at all. Would definitely recommend you to others. Thank-you!

We used this excellent Chinese Takeaway 3 times while staying in Seaford on a weeks Holiday - the food was very good and the Customer Service at the shop counter was very friendly - the counter / telephone ordering staff were all very nice English people.

Era Domingo. Nos apetecía 'Chino'. Busqué en línea mediante bien conocido - no llevar wesites hasta el lunes. Busqué la zona y metimos la nueva amanecer. Pedimos por teléfono, comida para dos o más personas, más platos. Nos trajeron la comida era deliciosa, y abundante! Llamaremos de nuevo!

Después de regresar de vacaciones, mi marido y yo decidimos tomar una salida era mejor que cocinar. Decidido China y agarramos el menú. Orden dulce y agria pollo (siempre bueno) de arranque de seguridad. . . Las costillas estaban bien. grasos y muy, muy seco. Como masticar cartón nada de sabor. Algas bien. Gambas en tostadas era increíble como de costumbre. Luego en el vegetal chow mein. . . . Que en realidad era un especial chow mein? ? Pero este orden vegetal mucho no fueron ya cerrado por el tiempo que nos dimos cuenta como pedimos tarde debido a que llegamos a casa tarde. si no podría quejarme, pero esta no es la primera vez nuestro pedido había sido malinterpretado. La última vez ordenados de hongos fu yung dieron una especial fu yung ni siquiera remotamente la misma. Hemos notado que las cosas son un poco, pero aquí resbale tbh sigue siendo mejor que cualquier otro chino en la ciudad de Seaford. Sólo ten en cuenta que comprobar y verificar y comprobar su orden con el personal cuando llame

Alway use this Takeaway for Chinese. Food is always lovely and hot. Delivery is always accurate on timings. Food Hygiene rating is always 5/5 which is important.

Sigue siendo el mejor Chino en Seaford. Simplemente lo único que me molesta es su pelotas de pollo y siempre un poco más preparado y no algo a ellos literalmente peel o complemento de la batería para llegar a el pollo. Su dulce y agria siempre es buena y su pato. gambas en la tostada es algo más... el mejor! Sus costillas no siempre son las mejores, pero la comida es siempre caliente. rápido y bueno.

He tenido numerosas tiendas de aquí y nunca me decepciona. Tienen un amplio menú variado, con opciones, incluyendo tailandés y japonés también. No relación calidad-precio fantástica distribución de comidas para un pato e incluso si pasas por libra de £30 (creo que es la figura), que también es genial. Lo recomiendo.

We tried the New Sun Rise after having been disappointed by our regular haunt on a number of occasions and are please we decided to give this place a try. More reasonably priced than some others...Good menu with a few things on offer that you might not get elsewhere. Prompt service and high quality food. Great Pancake Rolls. Noodles, ribs and sweet and sour prawn balls.Highly recommended but watch your waistline....

Only ever use this take away now. Serves the best duck and prawn on toast in seaford. Good value for money and always piping hot and reliable. Never had a bad meal

the best soups served here. other take - aways just bad soups, not enough ingredients, just like water and gelatin (or whatever it is).Dont treat it as restaurant - its a TAKE - AWAY =) but its a pretty much friendly one ;)

This take away was recommended by a friend so gave it a try and was not disappointed and we all agreed food value for money and will certainly will be returning.

After trying another local Chinese and not being impressed a friend and I decided to try this one. The online menu had great variety and the order arrived after only 25 minutes. All food was tasty and not greasy like other Chinese. The prawns in garlic and butter were especially delicious as was the beef in black bean sauce. We will now be using New Sun Rise every time!

Had not been here for many years until recently. Thought the 'new' name, extensive menu and professional website might be a sign of something good. I was wrong. Food was very average compared to other Seaford Chinese take aways. Some dishes, especially starters, were dehydrated and luke warm. Spring rolls were just a dried up hollow rolls with almost nothing inside and some other dishes seemed as though they had been cooked earlier in the day and warmed up.

A regular for 2/3 years...I won't presume on other peoples tastes but for me they have the best sweet/sour Hong Kong style in the area. Really good fried tofu rolls with crispy veg inside. I also love their Japanese dishes with either sweet soy sauce or spicier versions. Udon noodles good. So this takeaway has a broadly more unusual menu than most and I'm giving it a plump '5' as they've never let me down. Thoroughly enjoyable, keep it up!
