New Pavillion in Maldon

Best Sunday roast for my family. They do kids roast and its big portions. My little one has lamb roast and she finished it all. When kids enjoy the food we enjoy it double. Looking forward to our next visit next sunday.

We were driving to Maldon and looking for a good Sunday roast on google. We chose this one from the good reviews. I have to say that the location isn’t the best, but our meals were superb! One of the best roasts ever -succulent meat, fresh veg, homemade yorkshires and we finished with apple crumbles. Lovely friendly service - we would love to go back.

We booked a suprise party for my dads birthday and all we can say is perfect. We hired all the restaurat and everyone enjoyed the food and the service. Everyone said that was the best night out. Highly recommended to everyone.

Sunday Lunch. First impressions; It's a little minimalist rather than homely, but a great welcome from very helpful staff. My wife's Roast Chicken dinner was superb. 'One of the best, with succulent chicken, fluffy roasts and 'just perfect' vegetables', she tells me. My Crab salad was O.K. I would have preferred both the crab and the dressing served separately, rather than all piled in with the salad leaves. The side order of Chips was excellent. Beautifully crisp and fluffy inside.2 soups - 2 mains - bottle of wine = £66 + tipI think they could encourage a greater take up of the wines if they included a greater range of budget wines. These days there are some really good wines which could be offered for less than £15.

We eat here pretty regularly. Always excellent food and excellent hosting. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend you try.

Visited on a quiet Tuesday evening for a 3 course dinner purchased from Groupon.The restaurant is located in old pub. The tables are set out with plenty of room.The welcome was very friendly and unpretentious.The menu is small but I think we'll balanced and I felt that the food would be fresh.The four of us had different starters and all were very good. I had meat platter which was large.The mains were again delicious. I had the belly pork with a beautiful gravy.The whole meal had a personality cooked feel about it. The other diner's were making positive statements about their food.All in all a lovely evening and I will certainly be back.

We booked the groupon deal as never been here before. Well it was excellent. The atmosphere was so welcoming, fantastic staff and outstanding food. Will definitely recommend and will definitely return. The best meal out we have had in a long time.

We were staying locally and the New Pavilion was recommended by our hosts. Nice menu selection and not too much, so guaranteeing everything was made to order. The stand out dish for us was the "special" for the evening, which obviously needed a long slow cook, being pork belly. So many places get this so wrong, but this place nailed it!We understood the place was under new ownership and we wish them well. If the keep this standard up, they won't need any luck.

We have eaten here a couple of times now, and both have been to the same high standard. Really friendly staff, attentive and helpful, serving really fine dining food at sensible prices.

We booked the groupon deal as we weren’t sure what the restaurant would be like. All we can say is amazing food, excellent service and a well presented restaurant. Excellent value on a groupon and they also do a set meal lots of choice and probably one of the nicest meals out we have had for a while.

Been recommended from my neighbour and I took my family for a meal here. Everything great. Only wanted a light meal but I couldn’t resist without trying the Fritto Misto starter and Eaton Mess dessert plus the Ribeye steak cooked to perfection. The peppercorn sauce is to die for. Can’t wait to try the Sunday Roast & live music. Definitely recommend to everyone.

I wanted to check out the new pavilion as I seen it from the roundabout and it looked inviting,A warm welcome from the manager cold beer out backyard then ordered dinner to be eating inside,I had cheese burger it is lovely home cooked onion rings and a fantastic salad garnish My partner had pork roast melted in her mouth ,Well looked after attentive and engaging staff Well done we had a great experience and lovely food Defo returning,, Clean loos large car parking live music

I came here with my fiance last night and had a brilliant time.The food was just lovely! We had for starters carpaccio and olives and for the mains my partner had fillet steak and I chose risotto. Everything was brilliant- freshly cooked and delicious.Service was excellent, very attentive and welcoming.We will be back soon!Thank you!

I went with a friend for dinner on Saturday night - there was a singer (the lovely Jessi Cooper) who sang a brilliant variety of songs and the restaurant was busy but not crammed, which created a cosy but lively atmosphere. Often when there is a live singer you cannot hear yourself speak but Jessi was just the right level of sound which meant we could still have a conversation. We were served by Laura who was attentive and friendly and she worked well with the bartender which ensured service was prompt. The bartender did not 'hide' behind the bar as some do and served several tables himself.I had the cod and chips for my main, my friend the tagliatelle and both were served steaming hot (which should be a given but isn't in some restaurants!) and were very tasty. For dessert I had the Eton mess and she the brownie - both were homemade and delicious. This is the first time we had eaten at the restaurant and I would definitely go back, perhaps on a date (if I can find a man!) as this is the perfect location for one. Busy enough that the atmosphere is lively but small enough that the experience feels intimate in a way that bigger restaurants do not.

This place was a groupon deal I brought for my husband and myself. I have to be honest it is the best one I have ever brought. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. We sat and had a drink at the bar before being shown to our table. The food was delicious and they offered and did a small cheese and crackers for him as he doesn’t eat puddings. I went to work the next day and told my friends to go

It's a shame that more people aren't aware how great the food and service are at this restaurant.Visited tonight and the food was wonderful... although a slightly limited menu in comparison to some restaurants I found that the choice was perfect and not overwhelming. Definitely quality over quantity and the service to match. Quietly competent without being overbearing.3 courses plus a drink for £25 and a really enjoyable evening. If you are looking for somewhere to eat locally please don't overlook this little gem.

We have passed the cafe/restaurant many times and decided that we would give it a try last night and are we glad that we did.Although it was quiet it still had a nice friendly atmosphere and the manager Ylli made us feel very welcome. The menu is quite basic but has something for everybody, it certainly isnt fine dining, however, the food was excellent and the presentation was an indication that they make an effort and the chef wants his food to looks its best on the plate. We would highly recommend this place as it is great valued, great food and has owners that really do care, they deserve the restaurant to be successful and to get the support of the local and wider community.

Me and my beautiful wife have just finished dinner here and I cannot believe this restaurant is not packed every day! Excellent value for money, the menu caters for all and the service was polite attentive and professional. I would recommend this restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. It has only been opened 7 months and deserves to carry on for as many years and more.

The food was very nice, well presented and also generous portions. The manager and the 2 waitresses are very efficient and friendly.

Visited this pub restaurant recently. The menu at first glance seems large however it's pretty much the same menu for all day. As a vegetarian I was disappointed to find apart from soup, cheese stuffed mushrooms was the option as a starter, and mushroom risotto was the main option. Baked camembert was also available. So if you like expensive cheese and mushrooms it's the place for you. Unfortunately not for me.

Anniversary dinner on Saturday night. Took my wife for anniversary and all I can say is great. We enjoyed all 3 courses but the best of all was the Eton Mess dessert. Service and atmosphere was excellent. Heard they do amazing Sunday Roast and can’t wait to try it soon. Would definitely recommend

Came here on a friend's recommendation. Sunday evening out with girlfriends. Each course was delicious. Great service. Even met our requests to share starters and deserts - after all sharing is caring .....

Amazing. One word that may be used for many of this restaurants’ qualities. Amazing food, amazing staff and last but not least... amazing prices! Highly recommended for an amazing night out. 10/10 dessert for the sweet tooth’s out there as well 😝

Came here as a table of 2, walk ins, had starters and a main, chicken and bacon linguine in a chilli sauce, all where great! Lady who served us was nice. Not a great choice of drink thats the only negative thing! Would definitely go back for a lunch when we are back in the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome. We weren’t hurried and enjoyed a relaxed drink with the host before ordering. The meals we had were very good and it was obvious that fresh produce had been used.It might seem quite difficult to park here but there is parking behind the restaurant so don’t be put off. We would recommend a visit!

A while ago I was lucky enough to be invited along to this lovely restaurant, which has recently been taken under new management. On arrival, the building looks like a pub & is very large, however inside is a cosy little restaurant with an extra seating area to the rear - so definitely not what I was expecting (not a bad thing! I was pleasantly surprised). Onto the absolutely gorgeous food! Personally I thought the menu was quite limited, however sometimes I do prefer this as you can be a bit spoilt for choice. Regardless, there were plenty of dishes on the menu that I would pick. For our starters, my mum & I enjoyed the beef carpaccio (one of my absolute favourite dishes - so glad to see this on the menu as not a lot of places offer this) & the anti-pasti board which included your typical bread, balsamic vinegar, olives, sundried tomatoes, meats & cheese. Both starters were very tasty & generous in size. As mentioned before, I love beef carpaccio so this was a roaring success! For our mains we enjoyed a dish from the specials board which was a chicken & bacon linguine - this was lovely, albeit a little bit rich. Again, this was plentiful & generous in size. For my main, I enjoyed the cod which was served with spring onion mash & spinach in a tomato sauce - beautiful! The dish was nice & light & didn't leave me feeling stuffed. Both mains were more than enough so you could probably get away with not having a starter)... Which leads me on to dessert (of course we had 3 courses!!) We indulged in the lemon tart & eton mess - both desserts were lovely & light, & very fresh in flavour thanks to the fresh fruit. Everything we ate here was lovely, & was really well presented as you can see from the photos. This is not somewhere I would've visited as I'd never heard it of until recently - however I am glad to have found this restaurant! I've also heard they do a fantastic Sunday roast - watch this space! Thank you to the team @new_pavilion for having us & for looking after us, we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Found by accident for Saturday night family meal. Outstanding. New owner and nicely redecorated to traditional friendly standard. Limited menu which I prefer as it means in house cooked meal rather than extensive menu of frozen meals from wholesaler. Had scollops as starter, best i have had for a long time. Rest of the meal did not disappoint with very good in house wines. If in the area give it a try, we will be going back

Our family group of six had a lovely meal, great food, friendly service, always felt well looked after. Good value too. Proper coffee to finish a satisfying lunchtime meal

Very well cooked food, tate five staff. Gentle music playing in the background. We were made most welcome even though we had chosen to eat at a quiet time. The Cod in cherry tomatoes with mashed potatoes and green beans was very good indeed. Am looking forward to coming back.

This amazing gem of a restaurant never fails to deliver. We have become ardent regulars due to the high quality of the food and service. We have experienced breakfast and lunch on numerous occasions and it doesn't matter whether it is 8.30am or 2.00pm the quality remains outstanding. The New Pavillion is a real Jewel in Heybridge's crown!

Returned and found the first visit here was no one off. Another delicious meal and lovely friendly staff. This restaurant so deserves to do well.

Me and my boyfriend visit this restaurant frequently. We love the food, always amazing quality and flavours. The presentation of the plates is just what you want when eating out. We have also recommended to friends who have visited and have also taken my family there for a meal and everyone was as pleased as us with the whole meal. My partners favourites dish is the Herb Crusted Lamb and my favourite is the Cod Wrapped In Prosciutto Ham. Although every dish we have tried we have loved. The decor is lovely and the ambiance is perfect. The staff are very friendly and are always making sure you have everything you need. 100% recommend this lovely family run restaurant and will definitely be back again.

Just got back from having dinner and it was a joy.Food was good, plentyful and not expensive.The staff were friendly and the service was very good.In fact one of our friends had the lamb which was a bit rare for his liking and they cooked it a little more without any trouble.We will be back.

We were let down at another place so decided to have lunch here, so glad we did. The service was amazing, the food was fantastic and it was decently priced too! We will definitely be visiting this place again!

The place has had a great refurbishment and the new owners are fantastic. Great food and at a good price. We had a family get together and we were not rushed to eat up and leave defiantly be back again.

Had Sunday roast here for second week running. Lovely refurbished restaurant with very friendly couple running it. Food is wonderful. Freshly cooked, homemade, plentiful, reasonably priced and very well presented. If you want to try a new restaurant you won’t be disappointed.

Been looking for a new venue for good food with friends and found it. Delicious food and reasonable bill at the end. Friendly staff too. They deserve to do well.

Visited yesterday for the second time for Sunday lunch table for four everything wad fresh and well prepared & presented beautifully.. if you are local you should go there and support them if your not local it’s worth a trip you won’t be disappointed..

It has recently been taken over by new owners. The food is excellent and the menu varied and more than sufficient. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The fox is excellent. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Had lunch here today and it was a total delight.....the refurb is really lovely, you can see where improvements have been made...cosy atmosphere on a cold bleak day.....food was incredible. Wishing the new owners all the very best, they certainly have had a great start!see you soon x

Saw this was under new management and visited for Sunday roast yesterday. Superb food and excellent service. Great to have somewhere good to eat in Heybridge. We will definitely be back
