Good selection of beer crackling landlord, nuff said

Set off the main road, hard to find, unless you know. Great music, good beer.

Much improved, is a much brighter and airyer space than it used to be. Dart board and dukebox, big TV for the sport. Good pub is a highly competitive area.

An 'old fashioned' pub. Lovely atmosphere with great ales on offer. Spent a superb hour or so there - could have stayed much longer. Highly recommended for a real ale officianardo.

Great little pub on Maldon. Attended a live event in there, which was a great evening. The Landlord is a really friendly guy! 😉👍🏼

For me one of the best pubs in Maldon, good atmosphere, decent beer only knocked a star off as the barmaid could do with lightening up a bit, been in there a few times now and always seems massively pissed off. Maybes it’s me!

Old style pub in a beautiful old building with low ceilings, exposed beams, small rooms and friendly staff.

The Carpenters Arms was a much needed spot to relax while we waited for the fireworks. Warm and cosy with great beers. A lovely pub, tucked away off the high street. Well worth a visit.

Stumbled across this pub on a visit to Maldon and booked in for the quiz night. It's a proper pub, with a nice atmosphere. The beer is of a good quality and varied selection at reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and helpful. Quiz was really good and the locals were very friendly. Worth a visit.

Courtyard at back beautiful spent few hours in sunshine with pink bubbles and nibbles absolutely delightful. Wonderful hospitality could not do enough for us. Delightful thank you soo much x

Lovely old pub, great service and atmosphere had a lovely pint of local bitter in the lovely little beer garden. I highly recommend a visit.

Just popped in for a pint . the place is empty as they have 2 tvs I asked if the Wimbledon final which is on BBC could be on -apparently not as that have music tonight Not suprised it’s empty won’t be back !

Was just taking part in a quiz. Reasonable selection of beers available. Don't know if they normally offer food but I wasn't there for that reason.

I hadn't been into the Carpenter's Arms for quite some time and was pleasantly surprised at how clean and welcoming it looked with a very friendly ambiance. Very nice coffee served to us non-drinkers who were driving.

Great little pub in the street that runs behind the blue boar hotel, quite original inside good selection of beers parking is difficult better off parking in the town car park then a short walk seek it out.

This is a real pub, well run, good atmosphere, good range of drinks, friendly staff, popular but not noisy, well maintained and clean. We had the cheeseboard along with our wine and sat both inside and outside. Will be back for a meal and more visits.

me , my partner and our friends went to the carpenters arms last week , the food was absolutely amazing , real nice pub food with a hearty feel , the only thing i have to complain about was the fact that we wanted to go the night before we went and when we booked online they rang us up half an hour later when we had already got ready to say that they are closing and when i asked why they said they wasnt that busy so they closed , even though they was supposedly open for another 4 hours on their website , therefore we had to go the next day .

Time to sort your act out guys winter is coming. Only 4 people in tonight apart from us and all of them offering loads of advice to a 5 stone young girl on how to change a barrel but no actual help. I did hear one gent say to the girl... "If you can move it - then it'll be empty" .... 20 minutes before I got a pint.... Time to fix the fire 🤞 Oh - and the young girl was brilliant by the way - she's a keeper.

I share this gem with some reluctance. A superb local with impressive beer and cider lists.

The Carpenters Arms has had a bit of a varied history but has settled down to a fine real ale pub and a quiet location in Gate Street. Great place for a beer.

The Carpenters is quite simply a "proper pub" that sells proper well kept beer, by proper decent and hospitable people. I love the way its wonderfully basically decorated and that gives it so much charm (I liked the beer clips on the ceiling). Very fair prices too. A real joy to visit despite current restrictions.

This was my first visit. The pub is nicely laid out inside and the barman was pleasant and friendly. I was meeting a friend for lunch and had looked online to check out the menu. Unfortunately, on arrival, we were told that the lighter lunch options weren't available, only full meals. Apparently, they were in the process of changing their menus. As neither of us wanted a large meal in the middle of the day, we settled for a drink and went away hungry. However, that said, it is a pub that I would visit again and the full meals did look lovely.

Great drink selection and friendly vibe :) Visited in February and would recommend. Dog friendly. Nice range of beers.

Not a great meal to say the least.

This is a great drinkers’ pub. It doesn’t do food, but there’s always a good selection of real ales and ciders. Spartan and traditional inside, as a proper pub should be. Friendly service. Situated a little out of the way in Gate Street, but I seldom visit Maldon without coming here for a pint or two.

Ordered two drinks a coke and half of yakama gold. The coke (from hand despenser) was completely flat and the ale was not only cloudy it actually had bit floating in it, not just a couple of bits a lot!!

Recently refurbished, this is a great hidden Gem behind the Police Station/Blue Boar. Definitely worth a visit.

Congratulations on your C .A.M.R.A. award, you certainly won't be getting one for customer service. After ringing to enquire as to whether you did food, was told that you were starting your menu on Monday 20th April 2015, wonderful!, you would e.mail a menu, even discussed vegetarian options, of which you would have two.Did we need to book, no, shouldn't be that busy on a Monday! So today we drove 15 miles to come to you for lunch only to be told on arrival,sorry we don't do food!What a way to run a business?

This is a great community pub, recently taken over by enthusiastic landlord who loves his real ale (and it shows!). Excellent range of beers, many of them sourced from local breweries. No food at present, although I understand there are plans to offer a limited range soon, including home-made pies from Colchester.
