Now a Thai rest. This cafe has been closed for quite a long time so don’t bother to visit it unless you want Thai food.

This is a very friendly cafe with smiles and jokes. It is obviously a favourite location for older customers who are known by name and friends. It was obvious to me that the owners care about their community. The food is a mixture of Asian and typical British cafe fare. It is cooked promptly and fresh. The prices are also very reasonable. There is a large forest mural on the wall and a loop of birdsong is played in the background. This was a nice calming touch and the owner explained that this is a proper live recording. I liked that tea was served with a nice teapot and a china cup and saucer.

New Orchard Cafe has a strange vibe to it. Decor feels a bit weird but the staff seem pleasant enough and the food is tasty, as well as being a very reasonable price. The menu is a bit of an odd mix of jacket potatoes, sandwiches and oriental food, but I suppose it gives a variety of choice. They have a separate vegan menu with some nice options. I had some pan-fried vegan dumplings, which came as a very generous portion and were really tasty. The homemade chilli sauce was also lovely. The dumplings came with a decent sized salad and the meal came to £5.50. The gentleman at the counter seemed to think I was a guy, but I had just rolled in out of the rain and was wearing training gear so I won't put that as too much of a mark against them. Aside from a mild case of misgendering, the service was friendly enough and prompt. Good shout if you're looking for vegan food in Poole city centre. Everywhere else seemed to have limited or non-existent options.

This cafe is now under new management. We called in for lunch. As soon as we opened the door there was a strong aroma of Chinese food. The menu now is peculiar, Chinese food, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, English breakfast and cake. Coffee wasn't that nice. Ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans plus poached eggs on toast. The meals did not arrive together, the potato came first with the beans in the potato but the cheese was on the side salad. Five minutes later the eggs on toast arrived. Bill was £11. There wasn't much finesse and we didn't really enjoy our visit. Wouldn't rush back.

Passed this cafe by chance. Popped in for tea and cake. A lovely place that served my tea in China cup and saucer and no leakage with the tea pot. Gorgeous coffee cake. Definitely return. Shame not open Sundays.

Whilst in Poole we called into this cafe for lunch and chose the Cheesy leak topped Shepherds pie which was absolutely delicious, it came with vegetables and was very filling. The food at this cafe is all home cooked and the staff are really friendly. Whilst there are not many tables it is a great little cafe and I would highly recommend a visit.

Whilst on the way to Poole Harbour Boat Show we wanted lunch so called into this cafe. We were immediately given a warm welcome by the staff and told to sit wherever we liked. There was a table menu and a specials board with plenty of choice and they cater for gluten free and vegans. We chose two coffees, sausage mash & peas, Mediterranean meat balls also with mash and peas. There were also some very good looking cakes at the counter but after our meals we were too full to have any so will have to go back another day. The meals arrived and the portions were very generous and delicious, proper comfort food. This is a great cafe with genuinely home made food served up with a smile.

I have just visited this cafe and we had a toasted teacake which is the largest teacake i have ever seen and my partner had chocolate brownie with ice cream. The brownie was a good size and was served warm with 2 scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream. Reasonably priced. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend

Nice little place home made cake was lovely , I had the lemon and hubby had coffee. Very large portion, tasted lovely and fresh. Toilets outside done out nicely, and clean much better than M&S; ones all over the UK. The coffee here very strong , I had black coffee needed to add water to it, fine after that . Hubby' s coffee was very strong , tipped a bit away to add more milk , but very strong and unable to drink it. The lady said they do instant, which we never got offered. A shame as people , tend not to drink strong coffee. The place was clean and friendly.

Good vegan food right on our doorstep! After living in the area of poole my whole life you'd think I'd know where to find good vegetarian and vegan food but this little gem has been hidden right under my nose this whole time! A whole separate vegan menu and extra options on the specials board. (Specials including a tofu quiche)

At work we often place orders with this cafe and they are brilliant. Even when we make a request at short notice, and containing vegan items, it is never too much trouble. The cakes we have ordered have been beautiful to look at, and even better to eat! The pricing is extremely reasonable and I look forward to visiting outside of work shortly.

Me and my friend (one of us vegan and the other not) had heard about the cafe and as it has a vegan and meat menu we decided to check it out. It is amazing the staff are friendly and welcoming. It's small but not overwhelming, very cute. There was many food choices for both of us and it was fantastic, very well presented and tasted amazing. We normally have trouble finding somewhere to go and we now have the perfect place. We will definitely be coming here again.

Popped in here prior to a wedding at the registry office. My partner had apple cake and I had lemon. The portion size was huge which as an avid lemon cake lover was brilliant. My partner loved his too. This is a lovely, welcoming place with a good menu. We would have loved to have stayed and eaten a good meal but time wasn't on our side. If we're ever in the area again we'll be sure to call back.

Driven past this cafe so many times and finally managed to try it out. Breakfast was good and staff very friendly. They also do glutton free cakes and scones which made my husband happy. They should publicise this as it only states vegan foods in the window. There are more people with this food intolerance who would be happy to try the cafe.

I went here as a vegan with my non-vegan mum and sister and we were all happy with the choices on offer. There was a whole vegan sandwich menu and I loved my vegan cream cheese and apple slice baguette (and some carrot cake for after). Meanwhile my family were happy with their meaty toastie/sandwich. Very tasty food and great value! Would definitely go again.

Always seeking restaurants with vegetarian fare that isn't the ubiquitous pasta, we happened upon this little gem by asking at the Poole visitors' office!! Very simple but clean interior, very good food - providing for both vegetarians and those who eat a variety of foods. The mushroom and chicken pie with mashed potatoes, served piping hot, was delicious; served with a small salad of several different items. The vegetarian in our group (of 2) did end up ordering a special cheese sandwich, but there were other options. The brie was perfectly ripened and the whole grain bread fresh and chewy. Also had several delicious salad items. We were going to order one of the delightful-sounding desserts, but the meals were so filling that we didn't. Also, the service was prompt and very pleasant.

This café is only a stones throw from the Guildhall in Poole and provides the most wonderful home cooked food... We sampled the main meal menu, and their unbelievable home made cakes... We found the food was more than worth the walk to get there the building is as we have stated; dated but we found the café was very clean. My wife and I used the toilets during our visit and found them spotless, and so we assumed if the toilets were so clean the kitchen would be equally clean... the whole experience was a good one.

Went there as it said outside "vegan food available" I had a vegetable and tomato bake with salad and it was lovely. Also had a carrot cake, all vegan. I was impressed by how fresh the food was and how cute the cafe is inside. Prices are ok I guess, veggie places tend to be a bit expensive sometimes. I liked the food and the service, it was very homely.

If you fancy a nice lunch, snack or treat, this is the place to go to. I go with my parents usually for lunch and they are happy with the vast choice for meat eaters. Me being a dairy-free vegetarian, I am presented also with a variety of choices, which is very rare! My favourite so far has been the dairy-free cheese with Roast vegetables in a Sandwich. It's served with a creative, generous helping of salad. Just yummy! They serve hot meals, cold snacks, daily specials, home made cakes and it has a great atmosphere. Julie and Jane are always welcoming. Plus the price is really reasonable. All food is designed and made in their lovely kitchen. We love it.

We visited this establishment on a Tuesday lunch time. There was outdoor seating available we chose to sit there and watch the world go by. Orders were taken at the table, but I would note you had to go inside when you wanted to pay. We both ordered Ham egg and chips, which was disappointing. The egg ( yes only 1) was cooked in a ring ( very McDonald’s esq) and was very overdone. No runny yolk as one would expect with this dish to dip chips and ham into. The Ham was ok, and the chips passable but sparse. I’d say possibly we made a bad decedent with what we ordered, however it’s not difficult to get this british staple meal right. I’d say overpriced based on our meal that day. I wouldn’t choose to go back. On a side note and this is outside of the proprietors control. We were bothered several times by shady characters whilst sat outside establishment. All trying to sell counterfeit or stolen perfume and tobacco. They are quite persistent and off putting.

Lovely coffee bar with great coffee such a pity that the pavement table area is dire, full off debris, cigarette ends and lots of dead leaves. Would we find this level of squalor outside a French cafe, I don't think so!
