New Ocean in Nuneaton and Bedworth

Been going to this Chinese for over 30 years - and it’s the worst take away I’ve had from there - I’ve complained in the past but this was appalling tonight - owner was very rude - chips was like scratchings and the special curry had no taste or meat in it and was like wster

Ordered a meal for 8.30 as wife at work arrived 7.45 rang to say too early they said send it back we will send it to someone else !!!!!! Not a chance been a customer for 20 years never going again Thanks for your help Sue

Always order a takeaway from here and enjoy their food and we always order the same but on this particular evening it wasn’t great. Ribs were dry/over cooked/tough and chewy, not the usual standard where it falls off the bone and sweet and sour chicken balls were too thickly covered in batter that was spongey inside. Maybe a different chef but felt I had to leave a review on this particular occasion. Sorry but didn’t enjoy tonight.

Chicken wasn’t cooked and was like rubber! Salt and pepper chicken tasted fishy and not cooked/like rubber again Pork balls - hardly any meat and full of fat When calling to complain they said they precooked the chicken and then reheated, they have complained to the supplier due to the standard of the chicken - so why would you sell it if there is issues Managed to get a refund after I had to rebag everything back up to be taken back £45 waste of money and will not be eating there again I got a further call back asking why I didn’t put the duck in the bag that we half eaten, to be told I won’t be allowed to eat from there again and I’m black listed!!

Food was tasty, hot and a good selection

Very accommodating on how you ask things to be cooked. However you can a chicken ball the size of babies fist and get one the size of a 50p with the same amount of chicken in both. Curry is nice and chips are mostly.

Great local Chinese the best I found in Nuneaton. Prices are also very reasonable.

Order wrong. 3rd time this has happened when ordering from New Ocean. Couldn't eat what they sent us. Food and service has dropped drastically over the last few months. Won't be ordering from there again.

Terrible Chips hard as rocks rice mushy and curry had no taste

The chicken in the chow mein was soggy and fatty did not taste like chicken! Salt and pepper chips hardly had any flavouring on them only nice thing we had that was ok was the chicken curry, last time we had it was really good but really let it down today

Never had a bad meal from here! Used the place for a long time. I don't often have Chinese takeaway but I'm never disappointed when I do order one from here. Highly recommend 👌

Ordered a chicken curry and beef curry both with fried rice and salt n pepper chips, all were very very nice,really impressed, cooked to perfection, staff are friendly. Will definitely be ordering again 👍🏻

Food is always superb. Be prepared to wait past the time given for collection. So popular and very busy. Massive shout out to the young lady on the phone - it doesn’t stop ringing and with people coming in on spec, she handles everything calmly and superbly!! Well done - very professional under pressure and listening on a very poor phone line with the shop TV on in the background. You need two people on the phone at busy times!! Be prepared to wait folks but the food is outstanding - been coming for years!

What a place, what a menu!! I am partial to salt and pepper ribs and crispy beef, both of these are on the menu luckily for me. Food tastes amazing and they deliver to the other side of town. There was a time when I ate nothing but takeaways so would come here about 3 or 4 times a week. I wouldn’t have done that if the food wasn’t good.

We have been going to the New Ocean Chineese for 20+ years and think it is the best Chineese in Nuneaton, we have tried others while out and about and they just aren’t as good. The meat (we usually have chicken or beef) is good quality and you get good portions - full containers 👍 I have never had a bad meal and if there were to be a problem Siu (Sue - the owner) would correct it. You can pay by bank transfer but not by card. Highly recommended Top-tip, they always say it will be ready in 20 minutes but don’t start cooking it until you get there, so you may as well go straight there if you are hungry

Great food a little expensive I thought

On the whole a good place, quick service friendly staff. Food is normally good but every so often it falls below its high standards so can't give it 5 stars because of the inconsistency.

No point in ordering food for collection from here as you still have to wait 20-30mins before the order is even ready. Its quicker just to order when you get there.

Took us a while to find a decent Chinese takeaway in our local area, but we settled on New Ocean, as the food was the best of those we tried. The staff are always friendly and courteous, and the food piping hot and delicious.

Didn't like the food, and staff was rude on phone. Wasn't even busy on 1st Jan. So no need too be rude. And food was tasteless, possibly the reason I was poorly on 2nd and 3rd Jan.

Poor - ordered at 5.20 pm and told an 1hr and 30 mins wait - arrived at 8.20 pm and then they forgot part of the order. Tried to call them (125 times on redial) but always busy. I understand that New Years Eve is busy but either staff properly or be honest and then try getting the order correct. Shambles.

Absolutely love this place, food is always spot on. Can't say I've had a bad one in all the years I've been going. Staff are always busy, get the order done and that's it. Not alot of room to wait for food in current climate. Bank transfer now accepted but prefer cash.

Used these for years, have NEVER been spoken to in the manner I was tonight, I understand there is a pandemic and that food takes longer but almost two hours and they were so RUDE when I rang to chase the food. I am not sure how they run a business if they think that it’s ok to be the horrible to what we’re regular customers. AVOID if you want polite and friendly service.

Have ordered from new ocean every Friday evening for a while now due to our disappointment in the quality of the Chinese food offered local to where we live. We order food and delivery which is extremely reasonable. The food is always lovely and hot and within a timescale of on time to up to 20 minutes late- but well worth it! Thank you!

Doesn't show the hygiene rating certificate you have to go online and it's always a low score I wouldn't Trust getting a takeaway from there

Been using New Ocean for years. Has had its ups and downs over that time. Sometimes it almost seems as if they are trying to deliver the food too quickly and as a result the quality suffers (extra crispy or oily food for example), other times the food is "spot-on".

We've used them for years. Only time we had a late delivery was on a Saturday night when they were really busy. We've always liked the food

I phoned for some food only to hear the woman on the front desk tell her manager it was me I ordered my food but was told it would be a two hour wait and there being like this cause I complained about the food I had previously... it was well over cooked, dripping with fat and had an hair in it...

Always order from this place as they have never disappointed, always good food that arrives fast. Staff on the phone and delivery staff are friendly and are English so no miscommunication.

Ordered over the phone to pick it up was told 20mins so i went there 25mins later and it was not resdy i had to wait another 15 to 20 mins in the shop there staff are rude and there chicken balls are discusting the worst i have ever tasted do not recomend this Chinese at all avoid at all costs

It was ok but the rice was dry and don't bother with the plastic beef best to try the chicken dishes really overpriced to boot
