Well known Chinese in York. have been a customer a long time. Food is hot and tasty and delivered always with a smile!! Hot box my favourite and the starter for two. enjoy!!

Awful delivery service, took 1hour 15 minutes to deliver. Threw it in bin and went to bed instead.

Duck Chow Mein was just (very little) duck with lots of noodles, and NO other vegetables. Beef with crispy noodles was slightly better but had no real taste. Would not recommend.

I could say that this is Authentic taste! everydish is very good. the portion is good 👍🏼 it’s just so tasty that makes us keep coming back! 😊

After oder the duck on prune sauce I get duck on pineapple sauce, when I asked to replace or refund their are very very rude, don’t care about the customer or about the food you order. Avoid at all costs, if oder online you get what they want to send to you. No replacement or refund.

Food is always delicious from here. Will not get a Chinese from anywhere else. The salt & pepper chicken is delicious.

The best Chinese Takeaway in York. The food is fantastic and consistently good. The service is always friendly and detail oriented. Ive become a regular and they always know what I'm going to order the moment I pick up the phone or wall through the door. Parking is good, both within the courtyard, and opposite at Tesco. The cherry on the cake is that they take digital payment, so not cash only 👍

Very good experience for the first time using them. Food was delicious, delivered hot. Food portions were very reasonable and the person who bought the food was very polite and friendly. Would definitely use them again in the future.

I ordered one meal online for collection. A service charge of 50p was added plus a 10p bag charge, I was also invited to leave a tip. For a takeaway collection!!!!. When collecting, it was in a paper bag. This really is taking the p!ss, even Arkwright in 'Open all hours' wasn't miserly enough to charge for a paper bag. Having said that, the food was good so no complaints there. I know it's only small amounts but I dislike this attitude of adding extra costs, so I won't go there again.

Popped in just to get a bag of prawn crackers for a home made stir fry...£2.30. On opening bag there were only 14 in there! 14p per cracker absolute rip off. Will not return or recommend

Not usually a fan of Chinese food in England but got told this takeaway has changed ownership. O wow!! Family of 4 different meals, amazing. Food cooked beautifully. Not the cheapest but you pay a little extra for quality. Large portions and plenty of chicken and no grease. Excellent.

Place an order after hotel staff recommendation. we have had a wonderful valentine meal at hotel after we’ve been let down by nearby restaurant. Delivery is quick and driver is polite which is bonus. The chef recommendation Munchy box is awesome 👏 Definitely worth the try. Will recommend.

Best Chinese takeaway I’ve found in York so far, I’ve tried atleast 5 different places but this is the best so far. Food was very quickly delivered within 30 minutes of ordering and delivery guy was very pleasant too. Portion sizes were really good too compared to elsewhere that give half the amount for same price. Only knocking off 1 star as I felt egg fried rice could’ve had a bit more egg in it. And a little extra seasoning on salt and pepper items, but will happily order again

Visit after friend recommended. Free parking area and quick collection staff is friendly when we collect our meal. Salt and pepper Munchy box is spot on ! Love the noodles box so much. Others meals is hot and tasty!

Normally we order from here and it’s amazing but this time the chips looked soggy and tasted like they had been reheated in the microwave and I’m disappointed that I found two hairs in the curry sauce to say I paid £22.00 for a munch box there was hardly anything in there very disappointed I don’t think I’ll be ordering from here again what a shame! I highly recommend you ask your staff to wear a hair net or some sort of protection if your dealing with customers food very disappointed

Nearly the best Chinese I've had in York. The ribs were a bit dry and lacking meat for the £9 cost, not great value. The rest of our two meals were really good, though. It was disappointing not to see rice included when you're paying £12 for a dish.

The oriental elements of the meal were delightful and would certainly use them again. Having said that, the chips were awful, dry powdery and a big dissapointment.

Ordered while visiting York. Missing spring rolls and the bbq sauce tastes awful. I can't even describe the taste but it was pungent and sour. Rest of the food was OK I guess

Pretty much the only thing that we get from here is the Munchy Box. We love it!

Takeaway delivery the pancake roll one was fine the other was thick & sticky under the crust, the meat was tough in two meals the special curry meat was tough & the onions out weighed the meat very disappointing. I sent an email to let them know how disappointed I was they never replied.

If I could leave zero stars I would!! Appalling service!! As what was a loyal customer I do not expect to place an order at 9:30 with an expected delivery time of 10:30 to be still sat waiting at nearly midnight having not received my order not any word of explanation or apology!! I have enquired numerous times where my order is and what time I can expect my order totalling nearly fifty pounds!!! All enquiries have been ignored and I STILL haven’t received my order!! Absolutely shocking customer service and I will most definitely NOT be a returning customer after this appalling experience!!! AVOID IF YOUR ACTUALLY EXPECTING TO RECIEVE YOUR ORDER?!!

My “go to” Chinese takeaway, whenever I’m in the area.. sadly I don’t live local as I’d be ordering every night.. the staff are amazing, always a smile and a wave from the kitchen. I’m even logged on their telephone system, so they know it’s me calling “Personal Service” with class!! We have nothing local to where I live to compare with New Hong Kong , the nearest decent Chinese is a 12 mile round trip!! Cannot wait for my next trip over!!! KUNG PO CHICKEN- to die for. “Triple Yum Factor” GUARANTEED!!!

waited nearly 2 hours for food delivery that was meant to be 1 hour! food was barley warm so had to reheat...chips was like they had been re cooked and left again ...very crispy and scrappy. curry was ok. rest of food was edible only because we had waited that long and was hungry but most went in the bin. Man on the phone was very arrogant and didn't care at what we had to say.....

I’ve just had a delivery from here (Boltby road york) wow!! The most beautiful Chinese meal I’ve ever had even sitting in a restaurant doesn’t compare!! Terrible food part cooked spring rolls No chicken chicken curry .... rice was OK salt pepper chips ok duck was absolutely terrible no sauce in it and over cooked and dry... deliverywas over 1.5hrs called when it was 1hr and told 5 or 10 mins still took another 30mins I would avoid this takeaway

First time having a takeaway from here. Ordered mine with a bunch of guys from work and boy oh boy, it was delicious. I can see why the guys n gals wanted food from here. It was clean and tasted sooo delicious. Note, most of the meals don't include rice or chips tho, but it was worth the little extra for the sheer quality of food. Staff were very friendly.

Some dishes are not great and others are. Depends on preference. Noodle boxes are good. Food always hot for ages. Sweet and sour sauce is peng! Salt and pepper box good, Has improved alot over the year. Expensive rice though compared to other places.

Put food was over an hour late on the first occasion and the next time we ordered from here it was late again and I found thick black hairs in my food 🤢 nearly made me throw up and completely put me off my food! Wouldn’t recommend

We ordered a delivery on Saturday evening and it was delivered when they said . It was a lovely tasty and well flavoured meal. We will definitely return and would recommend that you give them a try

Very impressed with New hong Kong staff , I ordered on line and when food arrived we were missing an item After phoning them to let them know it was missing the staff were super speedy to rectifie the issue . Food is fab guys !!

Really good food, delivered hot, friendly delivery drivers. I especially recommend the hot box udon noodles. The sweet and sour sauce isn't over sweet like other places either. Portions are good also.

Just looking for a different "Chinese" takeaway, rather than our usual, we tried the New Hong Kong, it is in fact our closest. We ordered at 5pm to collect at 7.30pm. It was ready on the dot and it was good to see the kitchen, through the saloon bar type swing doors, was a hive of activity. The food was excellent. We will return!

Hello folks in these covid times as a truck driver its getting harder to find food . As soon as I mentioned I was a truck driver the owner refused to deliver to the lorry .thank you very much to you sir you obviously have that much money and don't need to trade with the likes of myself. I ordered chicken chow mien and well there was no chicken no veg, just noodles. The chips was cold and was over an hour to wait. If I could give it zero I would have. Tried ringing to get a refund but you can’t get through. Won’t be ordering from there again.

Terrible customer service, will not use again. Ordered online, used a menu sent with a recent order (which apparently is now out of date)! Ordered a curry, which according to the menu, comes with an accompaniment. There was no place to add this, so I left a note in the requests box for a portion of chips. Food order arrives 1 hour & 40 minutes later with no chips. I called the shop to which I was told I didn’t order any. They explained that all food items need to be ordered separately now & nothing comes with an accompaniment anymore (apparently had a new menu since last week)! None existent customer service skills. Had they called back & requested payment for the chips I would have done so, instead they sent half a meal!! Call handler so rude & aggressive as was the manager!

Ordered food at 20 past 8 still sat waiting at 20 past 10 only oder chips anD rice would not mind the food is lovely and we oder ever week will not be after to night quicker to eat out

Eaten here a few times and it's been excellent everytime. 5* all day, everyday!

REVIEW CONTENT CHANGED! Food hub said it was open, so ordered a substantial amount for the family supper. No problem. Put a film on with the kids and waited (Hotel Transilvania). Started to wonder where the food was so checked my phone and they had cancelled it, shut. Was too late to order elsewhere three very disapointed children. Why advertise as open on Food hub if your shut had we known we would of ordered elsewhere. And now have to wait 2-3 working days for a refund, you took the money fast enough. Was recomending you guys, will now do the opposite. So trying to sort refund out. Manager of New Hong Kong got on food hub customer servicies and is currently trying to sort this out will let you know the outcome. But its not the resteraunts fault it is Food Hubs. Changed to five stars because of the effort made.

What a god awful service. The order stated it would take an hour and 15 minutes to arrive. An hour and 35 minutes later, still no food. My partner called to inquire and see where our food was, and the lady on the phone couldn't find our order, and had to ask how we had ordered so she could track the order. She then told us it would be setting off in ten minutes, but we could very obviously tell our order hadn't even been started yet. I then spoke to the woman myself and mentioned the fact it stated an hour and 15 minutes on the confirmation email, to which she replied "thats just what it says on the email. In store its actually anywhere up to two hours" I commented on the fact that that is completely unacceptable as we wouldn't have ordered if we knew it would take two hours, and that this situation was on their backs. she told me it wasn't on their backs at all as their policy is 2 hours (It says this literally nowhere.) I went on to state I would appreciate some discount as this situation is not ideal. My partner and I are waiting to get a new oven fitted so a takeaway seemed like the only viable option for this evenings meal. She responded "Nothing I can do about it. I can't knock anything off" to which I requested a conversation with a manager. She told me no managers were present, and "No." I could not speak to anybody else, but if I would like, I could cancel my order. I have worked in the food industry for the entirety of my adult life, and can say without a doubt, there is no chance that a takeaway is being run, on a saturday night, with no manager present. The lady on the phone was incredibly patronising, unhelpful, and very rude. 2 hours later our food arrives. Will not be ordering again.

First time of trying I have to be honest this was one of best Chinese takeaways I have had for a very long time All the the food arrived within the hour it was all piping hot ! The spare ribs were huge had plenty of meat on them All the veg was fresh and again the prawns were huge ! I would recommend the New Hong Kong to anyone ! In the words of Arnold Swartznegger I'll be back !

My son ordered me a birthday meal, 20mins past it's due time, which was an hour and 3 quarters after it was ordered my son phoned them, they had no idea where the order was. They dont letbyou pick up even though I can see it from my house, they said they'd make it and have it right out. Well as an apology I got a tiny bag of prawn crackers and they couldn't even be bothered to chop the veg properly, the onions were huge....I'm very disappointed and will never use again.

Got one of large the salt and pepper munch boxes from the New Hong Kong. The entire contents of the meal was dry, overcooked and just tasted of grease. It was that bad that I actually felt sick and binned the majority of it. I would not recommend this place.
