New Gurkha Kitchen in Reigate and Banstead

We have dined here many times, the food and service is always fantastic and it never disappoints.

Very happy to have recently discovered this restaurant and have been ordering regularly from here since then. The only place offering Veg Momos and authentic chutney nearby. The vegetarian food options are good. The paneer is actual paneer and not tofu as a lot of ‘indian/nepali restaurants’ offer. I would like to make a special mention of the staff who are always respectful when we call. They deliver within the time frame they mention. I would really recommend this restaurant

Visited for dinner last week , my lamb shank was tough and blend , my wife’s lamb dish had barely meat , very small pieces and you can even count them less than 4-5 pcs swimming in only thick sauce . The only good thing was my daughter dish which was the chicken Korma. Very expensive for the quality you receive .

We went from neighbouring city after reading its review. And it didnot disappoint us. Our party of four went for sunday funday set menu. We ordered vegetarian and non vegetarian food and every dish is full of flavour and portion sizes are generous.

From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, adding a personal touch to the entire dining experience. The ambiance was cozy, and it felt like a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a good meal. Now, onto the food—simply delicious! We started with the momos, which were perfectly steamed and bursting with flavor. The Sag Paneer was rich and creamy, reminding me of home-cooked meals. The Tejilo Machha (fish) was a standout, with its delicate spices enhancing the fresh taste of the fish. The Sherpa Lamb was tender and cooked to perfection, each bite melting in your mouth. To complement our meal, we had paratha and naan, both freshly made and a perfect accompaniment to the dishes. Thankyou Aryan and rest of staff at Gurkha Kitchen we will be back. 5* First time trying Gurkha Kitchen in Reigate. We gave it a try last Saturday lunch time, we were not disappointed. The food, atmosphere and cleanliness was excellent. For our lunch we had the Khurshani Chicken, I forget what my girlfriend had, but she said it was very good. Accompanied with various vegetable side dishes (chana masala, gharko daal, saag ra aloo) along with Roti bread, we don't do rice. Every dish was cooked to perfection and we really enjoyed it all, there was none left. The service was excellent, our waiter Aryan did a great job being very attentive and making sure we had everything our drinks were never empty.

Very tasty food and reasonable prices. Much recommended if you are a foodie lover that is not shy about spices. I had one of the lunch menu sets and the meat was tender, juicy and full of flavours. Also I must mention great service and pleasant atmosphere 👌🏼👍🏼

A definitely go to for a curry in Reigate. My usual takeaway at the weekend, but decided to do a group dinner there for 14 guys. Very accommodating, ready to reserve a table and head the upstairs to ourselves. Had really positive feedback from the whole group on choice of restaurant and for the food. Did a family style between tables of four and the usual large bottles of beer. Good fun and the service was great 👍

A family favourite especially on Sundays when nobody wants to cook. They offer a very good value lunchtime menu with a wide range of dishes to try. So surprisingly quiet on Sundays.

The best food in Reigate! deliciously complex and subtle flavours, the food here is a delight, the portion sizes are reasonable allowing you to sample multiple dishes. You cant go wrong with any of it. Plus the service is excellent, our waiter was attentive and helpful, thank you Aryan and the staff for a lovely experience.

Another fab experience at Gurkha Kitchen. Whenever I ask my children which restaurant they’d like to go to, without hesitation it’s always “Gurkha Kitchen!”. The staff are more like friends now that we’ve been so many times. Every now and then things don’t go to plan but as soon as you mention it the staff go out of their way to put it right. All folks can make mistakes, it’s how they deal with it that makes a difference! Thank you to Ram and his team, we will see you again very soon!

Waiter didn’t pay attention to the table when ordering and effectively fobbed off allergen requests. I used to come regularly, I don’t intend to again. Fairly slow service

This is one of those restaurants that one feels very fortunate to have found. Everything was excellent. And Aaiyan looked after us perfectly and with great patience, given our limited knowledge of Nepalese cuisine. A truly great find.

It really pains me to leave this lovely restaurant a bad review, but I really dislike scammers and any business that willingly misleads. We booked for Mother’s Day to take advantage of their Sunday Funday set lunch menu. We’ve done this before on Mother’s Day and they are always a packed house and always offer the set menu. I emailed to book as usual and it was confirmed without any mention of changes. We arrived to an empty restaurant, were seated and when I asked for the Sunday menu, was informed that it wasn’t being offered due to Mother’s Day. When I asked why the set menu was being advertised and why they didn’t tell me when I booked, there was just a shrug of the shoulders. I’ve eaten here lots in the past and normally the food and service is exceptional. Today they have lost a longstanding customer through their own greed and exploitation of a special event. It’s not like they were even busy, we left a quarter of the way through their lunch service (without ordering) and the restaurant was still empty. We will not return.

Have to say Aryan the waiter was truly outstanding (Thank you) Can’t say the same about the food, was not great! We ordered Momo Chicken (Texture felt like it had been microwaved rather than steamed through as the top was dry and crusty) Chicken chillie for starters, chicken not fresh at all – very likely been in fridge for a while, leather springs to mind! Unlikely any of the meats cooked from fresh! Mains = Lamb Shashlik, again meat was incredibly tough! probable been in fridge for some time……Cardboard! Chicken Vindaloo, was average at best – However, covered by too much sauce & spice. Plain rice, fine! Roti bread was the best! Cooked fresh! We had 3 alcoholic drinks, between two of us. Bill was close to £80! Way too expensive. 2 Starters, 2 Mains, shared rice & Roti, 3 Drinks! £80!!! Avoid people, best settle for a fresh pizza!

Had an early dinner here 7pm restaurant was not busy. Before our group could even get our coats of the staff were asking if we wanted starters. Having sat down they were back again asking if we wanted drinks…. We had not even looked at the menu! We were chased like this throughout our meal which we were rushed through by their behaviour. Would not go here again felt awkward and u comfortable all evening. Shame really as the food itself was delicious but not worth putting up with the rushed service.

We visited the restaurant on Friday evening without a booking, the place was buzzing we thought we won't be able to get a table but the owner found a spot for us and squeezed us in, he literally made us feel like home, all staff was very welcoming and warm. The food was just amazing and full of flavours, the portions are generous too, definitely worth every single penny. The variety of dishes is superb, everyone will find something for themselves. Definitely highly recommended. Thanks to all Gurkha kitchen team, front and back, for making our evening so special, we will definitely be back!
