Another fab experience at Gurkha Kitchen. Whenever I ask my children which restaurant they’d like to go to, without hesitation it’s always “Gurkha Kitchen!”. The staff are more like friends now that we’ve been so many times. Every now and then things don’t go to plan but as soon as you mention it the staff go out of their way to put it right. All folks can make mistakes, it’s how they deal with it that makes a difference! Thank you to Ram and his team, we will see you again very soon!

Waiter didn’t pay attention to the table when ordering and effectively fobbed off allergen requests. I used to come regularly, I don’t intend to again. Fairly slow service

This is one of those restaurants that one feels very fortunate to have found. Everything was excellent. And Aaiyan looked after us perfectly and with great patience, given our limited knowledge of Nepalese cuisine. A truly great find.

It really pains me to leave this lovely restaurant a bad review, but I really dislike scammers and any business that willingly misleads. We booked for Mother’s Day to take advantage of their Sunday Funday set lunch menu. We’ve done this before on Mother’s Day and they are always a packed house and always offer the set menu. I emailed to book as usual and it was confirmed without any mention of changes. We arrived to an empty restaurant, were seated and when I asked for the Sunday menu, was informed that it wasn’t being offered due to Mother’s Day. When I asked why the set menu was being advertised and why they didn’t tell me when I booked, there was just a shrug of the shoulders. I’ve eaten here lots in the past and normally the food and service is exceptional. Today they have lost a longstanding customer through their own greed and exploitation of a special event. It’s not like they were even busy, we left a quarter of the way through their lunch service (without ordering) and the restaurant was still empty. We will not return.

Have to say Aryan the waiter was truly outstanding (Thank you) Can’t say the same about the food, was not great! We ordered Momo Chicken (Texture felt like it had been microwaved rather than steamed through as the top was dry and crusty) Chicken chillie for starters, chicken not fresh at all – very likely been in fridge for a while, leather springs to mind! Unlikely any of the meats cooked from fresh! Mains = Lamb Shashlik, again meat was incredibly tough! probable been in fridge for some time……Cardboard! Chicken Vindaloo, was average at best – However, covered by too much sauce & spice. Plain rice, fine! Roti bread was the best! Cooked fresh! We had 3 alcoholic drinks, between two of us. Bill was close to £80! Way too expensive. 2 Starters, 2 Mains, shared rice & Roti, 3 Drinks! £80!!! Avoid people, best settle for a fresh pizza!

We visited the restaurant on Friday evening without a booking, the place was buzzing we thought we won't be able to get a table but the owner found a spot for us and squeezed us in, he literally made us feel like home, all staff was very welcoming and warm. The food was just amazing and full of flavours, the portions are generous too, definitely worth every single penny. The variety of dishes is superb, everyone will find something for themselves. Definitely highly recommended. Thanks to all Gurkha kitchen team, front and back, for making our evening so special, we will definitely be back!

Had an early dinner here 7pm restaurant was not busy. Before our group could even get our coats of the staff were asking if we wanted starters. Having sat down they were back again asking if we wanted drinks…. We had not even looked at the menu! We were chased like this throughout our meal which we were rushed through by their behaviour. Would not go here again felt awkward and u comfortable all evening. Shame really as the food itself was delicious but not worth putting up with the rushed service.

My first time with my daughter, who had been once before. We went for the Sunday lunchtime menu for £10.95 which is such good value. There was plenty of choice, with you having a starter, a main and then ice cream or tea or coffee. I had onion pakora as a starter and mayalu lamb, with a choice of naan or rice. Both were delicious. I will return.

Had a lovely birthday meal at the NGK celebrating my daughter’s birthday. The food was delicious and the staff were excellent. Although slightly embarrassed by the ‘happy birthday’ song, my daughter was secretly pleased that everyone had made such a fuss of her during her special night :) Thank you NGK, we will be back soon!

Absolutely delicious Nepalese dishes as well as traditional Indian favourites. The food is so fresh and bursting with flavour. The Rara Chicken is a definite favourite and like nothing we've tasted before. The staff are so friendly and attentive, particularly our waiter Raj. Raj was kind enough to recommend dishes to us that would be similar to a traditional Nepalese daal bhat tali. This brought back very fond memories of our trip to Nepal last year.

Food is extremely disappointing, lacking in flavour and very greasy/oily. Good service if dining in but food is very poor If you compare the food here to the likes of say Saffron Summer down the road there really is no comparison at all. The quality is really lacking here.

Early Saturday evening meal. Very good food and attentive service. We were asked several times if our meal was OK, usually I find this very irritating but here it seemed they really did care. Best selection of Nepalese dishes I've seen as well as many old Indian favourites.

We ordered takeaway tonight from Gurkha Kitchen. Staff seemed nice and friendly. We are quite disappointed with the food. The Bhanta Tankari, an aubergine dish, has no aubergien in it at all. We looked very carefully but there no trace of aubergine, only sauce with lots of onions.

What a curry! Honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Mr Raz, what a guy! He danced for us and it was a spectacle. Recommend to everyone I know. ATS! 🔥

Really disappointing takeaway from here. We are down visiting family so thought we would get a meal from here as our family is Nepalese and we enjoy Nepalese food. Unfortunately the food was not nice at all, all the curries were sweet, there was no flavour in any of them. We love momos but these were really oily and slimy. Sadly will not order from here again or recommend

I’m visiting the UK from Australia 🇦🇺 and finally met up with my daughter. This couldn’t have been a better place to meet and enjoy a fantastic meal. The staff were lovely, attentive and knowledgeable. The food came promptly, nice and hot, exactly the spice I liked, not too hot but more than medium! 😂 The manager was lovely, chatting with us and showed a keen interest in our story. Great host! An easy 5 stars

Warm welcome, great service and excellent food including a delicious simple samosa and a hearty prawn aishwarya. Really worth a visit. Only downside is that the tables are a bit cramped if you are on a table for two.

The food was simply put- delicious. The lamb was tender, prawns tasted like prawns, all food was perfectly spiced. The best part- it tasted like it was homemade and no oil floating around on my plate. Highly recommended and this is now on my list of restaurants to go to.

We ordered a cheeky Friday night takeaway and it was disappointing. All the dishes were watery and bland. Even the lamb shank just lacked any real flavour and to top it all off, the Talapia fish curry was unfortunately so close to being out of date, it tasted fishy and rancid. Very expensive for what you get and the cooking is not refined at all. The restaurant itself may be nice and the staff friendly, but the food is poor at best! Even the vegetable rice had no veg in it, just a few frozen peas. Sorry, I won't be back .
