Ordered at 6.15. Received message to say it was dispatched at 7.15. Didn’t arrive so I messaged in the app requesting an update but got no reply so I rang at 8.00 and was told it was on its way. Now 10.15 and not heard a thing!

This place is definitely my favourite Chinese. The prawn crackers are thick and not at all greasy and the peking sauce is the best around. Full of flavour and the right amount of heat

Food was cold, all dishes including portions of noodles filled with onions and the salt and pepper chicken couldn’t have been any plainer, gravy had a layer of oil on the top was unedible.

Food was bland. Chilli & Garlic sauce on chicken like slime, never seen anything like it in our lives absolutley vile. Spring rolls and prawn crackers tasted like old oil too. Not the best to say the least.

I've put 'on time' as 'early' looked negative but actually, by the time I order, I'm ready to eat, so arriving quickly is a win for me. I also ordered at like 5:15 pm so they obviously just made and brought right away. couldn't fault it, will order again.

Ford was cold when received no taste everything was salty.. salt and chilli chicken not nice I used to order from here all the time but food quality has went right down hill when you can't make curry suace it might be time to call it a day

Ordered Beef Black Bean and Green Peppers and Pork and Beef Kung Bo. Both dishes had good quality plentiful meat and veg..however Blackbean sauce was a bit tasteless and Wishy-washy. The Kung Bo sauce was just sweet and Sour with a bit of added chilli. So meat and Veg were nice and well cooked both sauces were disappointing!

driver said he was in the car park waiting for us but he was no where to be seen, he apparently was at another park so he said, the food was cold and I had to reheat everything

2 hr 30 for delivery and cold. 45 minutes after "latest" delivery time for food that had to go in the oven again. Good quality food but massively let down by the delivery times.

Delivery was over 2 hours late, arrived late and items missing. Now into 3rd day and still no reply from Just Eat regarding my complaint. Disgusting!

waited 2 hours for barely warm food to be delivered. decent size portions but the chips were stale and sauce had gone cold. would have ordered from elsewhere if I'd known they couldn't deliver within the 60mins stated

Ordered food at 6.30, so we could plan our night, was quoted 45 minutes to an hour, it arrived at 8.20, for the delivery of two meals is a disgrace……food was cold when it arrived, I rang the restaurant and they were very unhelpful and told me to complain to JustEat as that’s where I ordered, terrible first impression and terrible service!!

Delicious chow mein and spring rolls!

Order took more than two hours and shouldn’t have been accepted by the restaurant! When I rang after 90mins and told them they should decline orders to give people the chance to order elsewhere I was told ‘don’t tell me what to do’. Food was cold and not worth the wait, Ku Bo is basically sweet and sour with cashews and loads of onions .. awful! Will never order from here again!

This was honestly the worst meal I have ever had. Two people had sweet and sour and felt it was OK. I ordered special chop suey which was utterly tasteless and the chow mein we ordered was so dry (I know it's supposed to be quite dry) we had to mix a little sauce from other dishes to be able to eat it. The other dish again chilli and garlic beef was bland anaemic awfulness. The special fried rice weirdly spicy and dry as sticks. Just awful. On the plus side the prawn crackers were ok

When you wait 2 hours and have to microwave the half empty cartons when they finally arrive, you know you've been had. Won't be using this place again. I understand that some days get busy, but we've all been doing things for long enough now to have measures in place to cope with buys periods. Be better and do better, nobody wants to wait 2 hours for a takeaway and then have to microwave it. I just paid near £35 for that, it wasn't worth that at all.

I've ordered food from New eighty eight for years but found the food to be very disappointing tonight. The chips look like they were heated up from the night before, scabby & hard & chicken curry I had to reheat again & chicken was hard & cold inside the chicken even after reheated. Very disappointed

TERRIBLE. Really disappointing. The chips were clearly old and reheated. We had satay chicken skewers which were vile. The pork from the salt and chilli mix meat was disgusting old leather straps. The so called orange crispy chicken was a disgrace. Plain chicken with an orange slice! WE WILL NOT BE BACK would give less than one star if possible.

Food was bland. Soup had no flavour, salt and chilli chips were soggy with limp veg. Salt and chilli chicken was all batter, no spice, no flavour. One bit of egg in the fried rice. Crispy seaweed was alright.

Ordered crispy noodles with prawns & duck. The "duck" was big lumps of soggy fat and quite disgusting. Wish I could put a pic up of the mound of fat left on my plate

What an absolute joke!!! Ordered at 8pm didn't arrive until after 10pm, without an apology or even a complimentary bag of prawn crackers. Tried to cancel the order, but it would have meant that I would not get a refund. When the food eventually arrived, it was tasteless. Definitely won't be getting any of my service again. 🤬🤬🤬 Should have stuck to my usual place (Shiremoor Chinese) Definitely know for next time.

Food arrived stone cold food quality was shocking I mean plain noodles to find bean sprouts and big chucks off onion in and gravey and rice looked like you rubbed the gravey spoon on to there was no sauce on it what so ever ordered salt and chilli chicken to get plain batter with a a strand of chicken I have been ordering from here for years you have lost your self a customer now I could get better out off Iceland freezers

Crispy beef was good, flavours of the ribs were nice but very little meat on the bone for the cost (relative to ribs in general) and undercooked (or old) crispy seaweed that was cold and soft.

Delivered hot and in delivery window, quicker than expected. Very tasty and I swear the best prawn crackers, only had them so good in restaurants

OMG so disappointed with this order. First Chinese in months and my daughters first Chinese. 1st thing forgot curry sauce, 2nd thing 2 lots of chips weren't fresh...they were stale and dry and absolutely rank...straight in the bin. Then the spring rolls were just like stodge! Ordered thru just eat and just seen their hygiene rating as 2...so wish I'd looked at this before ordering. Definitely won't be ordering again..for what we had at £28 I'm truly disappointed 😒

Very disappointed by this order. First thing they forgot curry sauce so had a bland meal, then the chips were awful...ended chucking them all (2 lots) they were stale, dry, reheated definitely not fresh and the spring rolls were doughy. Overall so so disappointed as not had a Chinese for months and this place definitely gone downhill since last time we ordered from there.

My very fav, only chinese i use now! X normally get same stuff, experimented with what i ordered this time and wasnt keen, but my taste NOT the food (im fussy) so will cont to order my fav stuff from my fav chinese. Only wish is that always got free prawn crackers as with other places, but that is only thing!! Fab food, fast delivery and amazing delery drivers x

Best Chinese for a while we’ve had

1st time ordering from Eighty eight takeaway and definitely the last. Worst Chinese food in Whitley Bay. Hard rice, dry meat, sludgy prawns, the portions were small and chicken balls only filled half the packet. Everyone's feeling the pinch, but other local takeaways still give you full portions. You could save yourselves more money by putting your mains in the smaller carton rather than half filling a large carton. Absolutely will not be wasting my money in your takeaway again. I wouldn't recommend any dishes from here, save your money.

I ordered crispy duck it was terrible just very dry crispy bits no duck meat would never order from them again it was actually inedible
