Haleem is excellent, not very often go I get impressed with this dish!!

Food is good but service is appallingly slow. Waited half an hour just for the menus. Staff served people who came after me first. Would not recommend unless your ok with waiting over an hour just to be fed.

It was a proper Pakistani cuisine experience. We ordered Naan and chicken kabab. Which was very delicious so we ordered more for take home. We had a nice chat with owner sorry forgot his name. He offered us a free cup of tea. Which was brilliant, and I never had that wonderful tase before, so I asked for the ingredients. Which amazingly owner told us. Taste wise, the experience was 5 out 5. Surely we will visit again and will recommend it to friends as well.

Food was good but the main thing is the staff was welcome me with warm heartly. Atmosphere was good , staff was friendly.

After careful consideration, I've decided to revise my previous positive review to a negative one, granting their service a meager one star, though in truth, they now warrant no more than half a star. Once loyal patrons, we used to frequent this establishment at least once or twice a month, thoroughly impressed by their delectable vegetarian fare and excellent service. However, our recent experiences have left us sorely disappointed. During our last two visits, we encountered significant service issues. Despite strictly ordering vegetarian dishes, our trust was shattered when we discovered chicken pieces in one of the Lahore chana masala dishes we ordered a few weeks ago. Upon raising our concerns, they replaced the dish at no cost during our subsequent visit. Unfortunately, our recent visit on Saturday proved to be equally disheartening. Despite ordering two servings of Tarka dal and one Chana masala, the Chana masala was fine, but the Tarka dal tasted old and bitter, suggesting it may have been several days old and gone off. Although they attempted to mask the stale taste with fresh seasoning, the quality was unmistakably compromised. We promptly alerted them to this issue, emphasizing the potential health risks of serving such tainted food to other customers. Based on these recent and unacceptable experiences, we have made the difficult decision to cease patronizing this establishment altogether. We can no longer endorse their food quality or service, and we urge others to exercise caution. Our once glowing recommendation has now transformed into a firm stance against visiting them again.

First time and not my last food was amazing not your usual curry night out at a restaurant atmosphere was brilliant food supurb and quantity and quality over the top portions not what I expected couldn't eat it all A*** definitely recommend

Go and have there chicken karhai and lamb chops . Dont forget to order sweet lassi .

Highlight of the night was the mixed grill, fresh, juicy and finger licking tasty. Chicken karahi was 8/10. The owner was pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be going again. Needs to get rid of Coke Pepsi Fanta and sprite.

Amazing food After long day at work

We ordered lamb curry without bones and payed extra, when we received the order it was full of bones and did not taste good (too oily) and customer service was rubbish

Curries here are just brilliant! Staff are polite and well-mannered. Definitely, a great find. Prices are also very reasonable for great quality food 👌

I ordered fresh chicken karahi but it was not fresh they roasted the chicken weeks before and freeze karahi was sweet put too much tomatoes in it really disappointing not recommend at all

Great food. Had Karahi lamb, the lamb was so soft and tender litteraly melted in your mouth and was infused with so much flavour. Also had lamb kebabs that where grilled to perfection. Would definitely recommend to anyone to try

I went there few days ago ordered large curry for a take out he inly put 5 pieces of meant in the curry barely any so i called him back to tell him he was very unprofessional with me never going back again

The guy who serves behind the counter, who to my understanding is the owner is dishonest, crafty and unprofessional. Ordered a chicken biryani with seekh kebab. The quality of the food was very poor. Was extremely salty and unedible. I told him this and asked if he could make another one but he refused saying it was perfectly fine even though he didn't taste the dish. only come here for the biryani and seekh kebab but will no longer be giving you bufoons any custom.

Best curry I've had in a while!!! I had fish masala starter which was ace and the lamb madras that was excellent and my friend had the tikka masala and it was just as good, loved the charcoal flavour on the chicken tikka!!

Place has become popular as a small restaurant...dishes are good Don't expect fine dining It is my regular place at the moment for a good homely curry place Recommend the lamb karahi chicken achari chicken ginger lamb bhindi bhuna Karahi fish really good starter Lamb chops can be hit and miss However can be inconsistent with the chilli at times esp takeaway But overall still well worth trying and adding to ur curry takeaway number no deliveries though

Best food in Derby. Mixed grill is perfection, curries so full of flavour. Recommend the lamb achari and chicken ginger balti. Can't get enough of this place 😁

Went here the first time and I must say the best mix grill in Derby. Food was fresh. If you are looking to walk into a fancy looking restaurant then this is not the place for you however if you want good food then this place is worth a try.

Very plight staff and good service

Great little local place with proper Pakistani flavours. The currys are top class, the starters are good too. It's not very large, takeaway sized more than a restaurant, but well worth a visit. Best curry in Derby by a country mile. If you want good food visit Desi Karahi, if you want fancy decor and an atmosphere, this isn't the place for you.

Amazing fresh food. Make sure you try the mix grill platter succulent sheesh kebabs, chops, chicken and lamb served on a sizzling bed of onions. The place itself is quite small and if it's cold, like when we visited, then you will feel it each time the door opens so wear a jumper! It can get cramped when the restaurant starts buzzing. The food was amazing, can't fault it really. We ordered a chicken and lamb karahi's which were delivered to the table in wok's!! Unique and awesome nonetheless. It isn't an upmarket place so go with an open mind but if your like me and enjoy good food then definitely give this place a try. I can't give it 5 stars due to the draught when the door opens. Solution would be to either have a heat curtain over the door or if they wanted to do it properly then build a porch with the heat curtain inside that area. Excellent food.
