Great takeaway, not much can beat it in the area

I was getting petrol at the Jet garage opposite and smelt the Chinese food on my way back to the car before I actually saw it or thought of it. This was one of those unplanned gems, found purely because I went out for fuel. I went over and upon seeing their 4* food hygiene, entered and placed an order. While waiting I was reading the menu and New China points out all food is freshly cooked and I was not disappointed. A basic order of chicken chow mein, and salt and pepper chips that went down well. I would completely agree, it was fresh and the chow mein was tasty and not greasy. The chips were also clearly freshly prepared and not refried. Portion size was also generous. I high recommend and will be returning.

Ordered food at 5.30pm, was told 1 hour for delivery. Called at 7pm and was told food order misplaced and would be 20 mins. Finally arrived at 7.30pm. Wouldn't normally mind but was for a birthday party. Very poor service.

The duck and plum sauce gets me going.

Our local Chinese for years until it gave me food poisoning from old, stale and undercooked food. Last time we will be going there thank you.

Have been using this Chinese for years and we love it, the food is delicious and you get lots of it. We even have relatives who come from quite far outside of Norwich to use this Chinese too as they loved it so much when they had it at ours once. Reasonable prices, highly recommended.

Absolutely disgusting 🤮 customer service. In a little while ago we have ordered our dinner to collect. The owner (I guess) talked to us over the phone very rude. But I thought that’s ok he may be a Chinese person. When I have to order I clearly told him chicken chowmein for my son Needed with out beansprouts. He said ok at that time. When we brought food home son’s dish with beansprouts. I have called him and complained. Then he started to go at us and said that I never requested that! Nasty rude man. !!! We never ever going to order from New China at all again.

I literally just got takeaway delivered , it was pathetic. Food was cold and when I tried to call to complain I was insulted

So much more expensive then other Chinese takeaway, daylight robbery. And the food isn't even great, the meat is very rubbery.

Absolutely disgusted with the service I received today. Been my regular Chinese take away ( every Tuesday night ) for at least 20 years but tonight was the last straw. Got my order wrong then told me it was my fault. Missing items despite repeating myself 2-3 times. The food (if you can class it as ) was old and clearly reheated and / or under cooked. I will not order from new china again.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE , DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, I ordered over a £30 order today and my order came wrong , the sweet and sour sauce is like water. The chicken is like eating grey meat and tastes old, the food looks and tastes like it’s been sitting there for days, their ‘crispy chilli chicken’ was a tub of plain chicken in sweet and sour sauce?? After calling the shop up the man was very rude, didn’t give me a refund and wouldn’t sort it at all. Really unhappy and disappointed.

Rude and unprofessional telephone manner. Soon as I rang them him accused me of making crank calls and wouldn't deliver to me. I had used them before ( despite being very slow) but not anymore. Top Chef Chinese everytime from now on.

Called for delivery from flyer, it states £1..over 2.7 miles. I googled, I’m 2.6 and they want to charge me £3.00. I’ll spend my 60 quid elsewhere!

Well what can I say I wanted to place an order for delivery , roughly 60 quid and they wanted to charge 4 quid for delivery , considering they have been shut down by environmental health for rat 🐀 issues then the defense rests , will never bother with these again , absolute joke

So so rude, the food is rank and the gobby tw*t who answered the phone has 0 customer service skills. They forgot our curry and chips then told us we were sh*t and to never order from then again🤣 They never delivered our curry and chips or offered a refund. The food is so bland and dry and the chicken was also undercooked. We even had an eyelash extension in our food!! Disgusting will never order from their again.

the worst customer service i’ve ever had. was so rude when i was ordering and then when food was missing he was swearing down the phone at me. i told him he was being rude and he told me to “f*** off and that i’m a piece of s***.” will never order from here again and still haven’t received food that was missing. how do i get my money back for this ?

Chicken balls were greasy and chicken dry

I have been coming here for years and just recently they have gotten my order wrong. The 1st time I didn’t bother to phone and complain and just the left it. The second time I order a house special chow mien when i got it home it was a vegetable chow mien. When i phoned and explained that it was wrong and it was my partners dinner (who threw it in the bin in temper) the person on the other end told me i ordered the vegetable chow mien when non of us like that one. When I explained it was in the bin i got told i was wasting his food that i paid for. The customer service is terrible. If i did want another one i would have to travel another 20 minutes to get and mine would be cold. Instead of apology i got verbal abuse and was told i was in the wrong. As a customer who has been going there for years i won’t be going back for a very long time if at all

How rude can you get. My order was wrong. I rang and man on phone wouldn't let me speak. He was right. But u just couldn't get word in. Will never use again as not going to be spoken to like that again, if people get treated like this business won't last. So check your order before leaving

Used to be our takeaway of choice but preferred on shut so gave it another try. Never again, crispy beef was just sheer grease couldn't tell if any meat in it. Was like puffs of pork crackling. Sweet & sour sauce watery with real taste of vinegar. Shame as used to be great. Also waited an hour on a Tuesday night.

The most oily, greasy Chinese ever and I lived in Portsmouth!!!! Horrendous staff rude and disrespectful, and the food was awful!!!! Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy!!

From the original phone call I knew this was gona be a mistake ordering from here. Called up and the clown on the phone was so rude asking for me to hang on 3 times whilst other people were more prioritised! The food was so bland and dull! Only used here as Ken Tong was unexpectedly closed! Never will my money go in the pockets of this dump again

I am absolutely shocked at what has occurred this evening. After driving 15 minutes each way from my house to this Chinese as it’s my favourite & Ive collected every week for at least 5 years. This evening I got home and my usual order was wrong, so I called, firstly he told me that it’s what I ordered (I order the same thing every single time) after having an attitude said he’d re-do another to collect, I asked if he could deliver to me on this occasion as to collect again 15 minutes each way would equal an hour for me in total. He told me he no as I live too far, then I said I’m not sure what to suggest to resolve as I really don’t want to go out again. Then his exact words were “I will deliver this time, but after never come here again ok” I am absolutely shocked at how abysmally I’ve been spoken to after being a loyal customer for years and was not impolite in any way and after saying that it’s a shame he said that the only response I got was again “don’t come back and we want the other food back” My food did get delivered and I thanked the driver and gave back the other food. I’m actually quite upset :(

This place keeps going downhill. Curry sauce is like water, no taste. Can’t enjoy a freezing cold Chinese, not a single person ate it.

I called to question my delivery, the attitude of the man was shocking, he spoke to me as though I was stuck on the bottom of his shoe, I said his customer service was awful, his response was to shout at me and I couldn't believe he swore at me repeatedly. Not sure where the usual staff are as this person is a youngish man. More customers lost because of him. The delivery lady was great as always.

I have not had a Chinese for over a year so I thought I'd treat my family. I ordered mix starter. Prawn chop suey chicken balls and rice the tubs were burnt and tasteless spring rolls hard chicken balls soggy and sauce was not enough and bland the order was wrong I had to go back and get the right order I got orawn curry instead of noodles no apology or offer of drinks or desert the noodles were burnt. Not recommended at all!

Is it the best is norwich? Of course not. However as a local chinese takeaway it ticks all the right boxes, its quick, tasty and cheap. Friendly and helpful staff both over the phone and when going to collect. I dont understand the "staff are rude" comments....its a takeaway. If you want great service then a restaurant (with higher prices and service charge) may be a better option.

The worst takeaway food I have ever eaten. In the past this was a good takeaway but as of recent (past year) the quality has dipped. The staff on multiple occasions have been rude. Orders are often mixed up. All sweet and sour dishes use artificial tasting manufactured source. £60 worth of food in the bin. I would rather eat a Ginsters Cornish pasty purchased from the Jet petrol station next door. Honestly its that bad!!! On a positive, prices are competitive. The recent reviews back my opinion

Call tonight told do not except debit cards ? Have ordered several times by cards no problem. Tonight I am told they no longer take cards . Bye china you have just losses £40.00 a month.

Have ordered many times from this Chinese takeaway and paid by debit card tonight they would not accept any card payment, said they only accept cash from today all card payments stopped. Ludicrous can’t understand the reasoning as debit payments are authorised immediately. Had to give this one star only because you can’t rate lower. Thanks new China, your service is abysmal, don’t recommend at all

First and last order from this Chinese Takeaway. The rude girl serving cut me off mid-sentence to answer the phone while I was ordering face to face and she walked into the kitchen. I ordered a basic starter, Spare-ribs and Prawn Crackers. Sat waiting for 40 long minutes. After noticing locals with larger orders, who got served after me, got theirs first and staff were more concerned about home deliveries rather than people who'd bothered coming in. When I complained "my order" was sat in a cardboard box for ages and she tried the "oh look it 's ready just now!". Opened the order and the ribs were stone cold. "Food" and the "fortune cookies" went straight in the bin. This happened between 5.40pm-6.10pm- today. Wish I'd gone to KFC instead.

Ordered from this place throughout my life and never had a single problem. The food is amazing, its always fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly and happy to serve. I would recommend this place to people that haven't been here.

I ordered food to be delivered at 6.25 pm and was told it would take 1hr 20munites to which I agreed , however after several calls we received our delivery 2 hour and 5 minutes after ordering. Shocking service

Fantastic evening Chinese takeaway

Had a take away from here for an evening meal. It was really good. The food was hot and the portions were great. My curry and my sons was spicy and really tasty and the rice was well cooked and was a very good mix with the curry. My granddaughter ahd a chop suey and there was to much for her to eat. Mind you she did have curried chips to go with it. It was a very very good take away and we will certainly use it again when visiting the family. One grouse my local gives you free prawn crackers when you spend £12 or more. I had to pay for our rice crackers, my bill £27 for spending that we also get 6 spring rolls as well free. New China take note.

Cuando se trata de comidas para llevar de China, soy muy difícil de complacer, ya que he viajado y he visto un poco del mundo en el que he probado el verdadero negocio. Nuestros restaurantes chinos y para llevar están demasiado occidentalizados y llenos de alimentos a granel como los guisantes y las cebollas, pero no podría culpar a esto. Estaba caliente y realmente muy fresco y auténtico. Mi ir al lugar ahora - nunca probaré otros.

Quería cambiar de nuestro chino habitual, ya que había ido cuesta abajo recientemente. Tuvimos la comida entregada (fideos de arroz Mei diversión que pedimos ser más picante, arroz frito de pato, pelotas de pollo) Todo estaba muy sabroso, con porciones generosas. Definitivamente ordenaremos de ellos otra vez. El único aspecto negativo es que nos dijeron que sería de 45 minutos a una hora, pero fue una hora y 15 minutos, no hemos marcado para esto porque vale la pena esperar buena comida recién hecha!

The food is good and is very popular with the locals. There are a few parking spaces. Try avoid Saturdays because that's their busiest day and you could be waiting for quite some time.

Very good meal every time always hot and l have had no trouble with them it costs me £5 for delivery but l live in Lingwood 9miles away not bad a.

Ordered a meal for 4 people to be delivered they advised on a busy Saturday night it would take an hour, arrived within 40 minutes, hot everything we wanted would recommend the egg fried rice, and the curries

Sirve una deliciosa comida caliente para uno por menos de 10 libras. Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita a este lugar. Their leaflet states free delivery within 3 miles, our address is 2.7 miles from the Chinese and they try and charge us for delivery. We told the driver the situation and he verbally abused us and drove off! The food is brilliant, however I would definitely not reccommend this Chinese because of the way the staff treat you and the false advertising!
