New Asia in Kensington and Chelsea

La Nueva Asia ha sido una característica de la escena del restaurante Earls Court desde la década de 1950, pero lamentablemente me pareció deficiente. Cené allí el sábado 28 de septiembre y no hay mucho que recomendar. En primer lugar, me pareció que la manera del caballero mayor, presumiblemente el propietario, era bastante discreta y no muy acogedora en absoluto. En segundo lugar, para mi sorpresa no había té caliente en el menú, solo bebidas frías y gaseosas. Finalmente, el naan llano que pedí estaba tan gravemente quemado que era imposible comer. Quería señalarlo, pero como nadie parecía estar interesado en saber cómo disfrutaban los comensales de su comida, la dejé pasar. El plato principal era la única característica de redención, pero ni siquiera eso me hará volver.

Not a good meal experience the food didn’t taste like Indian food, it was so sweet and not spicy at all, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone

New Asia is a decent Indian restaurant in Earls Court. It’s a BYOB. Food is tasty. Prices are reasonable and the service is good.

Restaurante é simples, mas a comida é muito deliciosa. Frango tandoori ótimo. Arroz com canela e cardamomo e frango com molho, tudo perfeito

Read some mixed reviews.... can relate to some of them. Ultimately, the food was good, tasty, and hot. Kemma rice was banging. Evening was ruined by a drunk Eastern European girl who thought it was OK to vape in the restaurant. She thought being drunk was a good excuse.... she was wrong. That didn't ruin the evening/ambience.... her eating her curry and making more noise than a horse eating out of a nose bag did that. Anyway, besides old horsey in the corner, the food was good. Yes, prices are crossed out and written on biro, but the menus looks like they were printed in 1984, so prices have no sound needed to be increased. Speaking of 1984, the decor is similar to the curry house Del Boy visits in Peckham in "Only fools and horses." Don't let that put you off. The High Street is full of fast food joints and chains. Fo yourself a favour, pop down Hogwarth Rd and have a nice "Ruby". Lovely Jubbly!

This is a fantastic Indian restaurant in a nice location. I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews, because we found this place to be absolutely wonderful. Service was very good, food was excellent, and prices are very fair. It’s not a fancy place, it’s very simple, which I love. The food coming out of that kitchen was just amazing and these guys are all working hard to take care of you and make sure you have a great dining experience. It’s a small operation, so be patient because it’s worth it. But the service was actually quite good and helpful. We will definitely go back when we’re in London. It’s right around the corner from the Marriott Hotel Kensington, too.

I grabbed some take away on my way back to my hotel one night at 11.30. A chicken sagaloo. Beautiful. Bursting with flavour, chicken was soft and not chewy. BUT. It was ready, quickly (less than 10 mins) but it sat there while the waiter was on the phone to god knows whom for 12mins. Had I have been sure it was mine I would have interrupted him or just taken it.

Had a great Madras and paratha plus onion Baji washed down with a cobra beer. Friendly waiter and pleasant waiters.

Great indian cuisine. Dont read any negative reviews . This place is the best in west london by far. Faslur our waiter was lovely. Chicken tikka was so tender.. A must try.

Went here on a Saturday night. Found us a nice table, served us drinks promptly, and took our order. Food served within 15 minutes and it was superb. Reminded me of how Indian Restaurants were in the 1970s and 1980s before it became regionalised. By the time we left at 8pm it was full and people were waiting outside. I can see why. Reasonably priced but you will pay more elsewhere and get a lot worse. Thoroughly recommended!

Delicious food. Generous servings. We are visiting from Melbourne Australia and dropped by for dinner. We had a meat thali and a vegetarian thali. Thali is served with both rice and naan which was more than enough. The food was so good, we returned the next day for Biriyani which didn’t disappoint and the owner only charged £8.45 each. Another great tasting aromatic meal. Service was excellent.

The food was excellent. I had the vegetable pakora for an appetizer and the dhalsak with lamb and jasmine rice for the main. It was delicious and easily enough for two meals.

Visited this restaurant this evening with my husband while staying in London . We are frequent visitors and sad we hadn't tried this place sooner . We were welcomed in by a very friendly staff member , seated and made to feel at home . Order was taken and food arrived quickly , well presented and hot . Curry's were the best we have tasted and the beer was brilliant also . Garlic nan bread was beautiful. I honestly can't relate to any of the bad reviews as this was a lovely experience for the whole package , staff , venue and food. We will definitely be back again on our next trip .

We arrived on the early side and were seated immediately. We ordered the mixed tandori grill, butter chicken, pilau rice and naan. The food was good. However, nothing else was. The service was awful. The owner (believe the owner) seemed disappointed that we didn't order beer, but just water. We had to keep asking for it to be delivered and then our glasses were never refilled. They snuck in a 10% service charge on the bill. This was not on the menu and maybe they hoped you wouldn't notice. Clearly with their poor service, this was the only way to receive a tip. The bathroom was disgusting -- soap dispenser was empty and looked like it had been for awhile; trash can was overflowing. It was cleaner in the alley. Go elsewhere.

Virkelig en skuffende og kedelig oplevelse, vi har før besøgt denne restaurant og synes den var et besøg værd igen. Men den kan bestemt ikke anbefales, maden var ikke gennemvarm og bar præg af at være varmet i mikroovn, naanbrød svømmede i olie. Personalet virkede ligegyldige og talte indbyrdes om gæsterne, også mens de tog imod bestillinger. Ikke et rart sted. Vi kommer helt sikkert ikke igen!

Visited here on a recent visit to London. We were seated pretty quickly ,and offered drinks. They only could offer soft drinks, beer and house wine and that's all. The wine isn't very good and they fill your glass to the brim, not a problem if the wine tasted ok! We ordered food it was nice, but lacked flavour. We thought the portion size was ok and the prices fair. The staff did seem quite manic but were friendly. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area to try before I would rush back here i'm afraid.

This could have been a decent meal, albeit served by an extremely inexperienced waiter, as the food was quite good. However, when it came to the bill it included a 10% service charge. This was NOT shown on the menu so I asked for it to be removed. After a long delay, with excuses that he had to consult the owner, a revised bill with part of the service charge was removed. I paid as we will never be eating there again (and I would have been happy to leave a 10% tip) as I understand it is illegal to make an extra charge for "service" not shown on the menu and then refuse to remove it.

I’ve been a sporadic visitor to this restaurant since the mid 1980s, so a fair few visits over about 35 years give or take. But the review is about today. The food was fine but the smallest main course portion I have ever found in an Indian restaurant. It was somewhere around the size of a single tapas dish in a Spanish restaurant. With rice and a chapati it was just enough. The customer service was terrible. Nobody asked how my food was. I guess they don’t care as long as you pay the bill. The bill was just about ok but I don’t understand the portion size at all. I struggle to understand why so many restaurateur s don’t understand the value of good customer service. If the owner showed he cared, I’d have tipped. But he didn’t, and so I didn’t.

A chaotic meal, where three of four of us were served completely different main dishes to that ordered. The staff then tried to get us to eat the incorrect food by saying we wouldn't be charged for it! We declined this offer. While waiting for the food actually we ordered to arrive, another completely incorrect dish was delivered which we also declined. The right, and pleasant enough, food was eventually served. At the end they offered to remove the beers we'd had from the bill, again declined, and we paid for what we'd actually ordered and consumed. We won't be returning.

Abbiamo ordinato un Pilau rice, Vegetable Thali, piatto composto da: pane indiano, riso Pilau e cinque assaggi di diverse verdure, (a parte gli spinaci il resto non era male), un Balti vegetable ottimo e dell’acqua. On vous y pousse à consommer (3 bières commandées, 5 servies). Plats servis après une heure d’attente. On nous a donné une pile d’assiettes à dresser nous même sur la table... Plats corrects sans plus, mais surtout très secs. Le jus d’orange est directement versé de la brique cartonnée. Boissons température ambiante stockées au dessus du micro-ondes. Serveurs souriants mais cela ne suffit pas. J’oubliais, insister pour payer par carte bleue car on vous fait d’abord croire que seul le cash est accepté... incroyable. Du jamais vu pour ma part !

Caminé una noche para comer, es bastante insípido por dentro, pero de inmediato me ofrecieron una mesa (cubiertas de papel) muy aplastadas. Menú era realmente a un precio razonable. Pedí dos copas de vino y un plato principal, de acuerdo con el menú, calculé que tenía un máximo de 16 - 18, cuando la factura llegó a Más de 22 Me decepcionó, la comida estaba bien, pero en realidad no era nada especial para justificar tales precios.

Visited this restaurant during a short London break and have to say that the food was rather quite nice although the portions I felt were quite small and I left unfulfilled. My main gripe was the lack of atmosphere, the paper table cloth and napkins (pet hate of mine) and the fork was so flimsy that it bent and buckled as I cut into my somosa. The table rocked really badly and the bench chair had a big lump in it. Finally we noticed old food splattered on the wall where we were sitting ‘yuk’ We won’t rush back to this place even though it was reasonably priced.

I went for a take away dinner and the restaurant was very busy. I have been guided to the basement level dining area and placed my order. My order arrived in 15 minutes and the food was reasonably good and acceptable.

I visited twice in two days. The first day was acceptable. Service was good and my Onion Bhaji was tasty, Vindaloo very hot and mushroom pilau fine. The second day we arrived later and the experience was very different. They rushed every course, bringing main meals before the starters were finished. The starters were okay but main meals were not so good. On reflection we should never have stayed there and they would have been better telling us they were closed.

I have visited this restaurant before and food was good. I went there Thursday night and food was tasteless. I ordered Tandoori chicken but it was tasteless. I tried so many indian cousin but never had Tandoori chicken like that. It had no smell and was not even fresh. I won't back again.

So bland. Avoid if you like a curry with any flavour in. Without doubt the worst Indian restaurant I have eaten at.

Comida sabrosa y de precio razonable para Londres pero servicio normal. El personal parecía ser hace los trámites en vez de acogedor y amable.

El camarero nos tomó 20 minutos para coger su pad ordenar después nos dijo que estábamos listos para pedir. Luego viene otro camarero y grita en nosotros; no se pide, no puedes pedir? ! Entonces tenemos que elegir persiste un menú fijo que nos disminución. Cuando por fin llegó la comida no tenía sabor y no muy indio. El personal habla inglés y apenas tienen graves problemas de actitud hacia sus clientes. Incluso se negó a darnos nuestra factura aunque felizmente tomó el dinero.

Cenamos allí, ya que estaba cerca de nuestro hotel.

A notre arrivee, le serveur nous a forcé la main pour consommer. Face à notre refus de consommer de l'alcool, il nous a apporté juste un verre d'eau. Serveur a aussi forcé la main sur la consommation des plats. Le restaurant a refusé de nous diviser la note en 3 (nous étions 3 à dîner) et nous a rendu la monnaie sur un vieux billet de 5£. Vieux billet de 5£ déjà refusé dans les boutiques et nous avons galèré pour nous le faire échanger car dernier week end où ce billet est accepté en Angleterre et week end férié, donc banques fermées. En gros serveur qui force beaucoup la main, très peu aimable et arnaqueur face aux touristes !!!

We thought this might be a great antidote to the expensive and trendy Indian restaurants, which are all over London. Small, independent and a bit ‘old school’.

I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to food. Really I am.

I have been there once and realised it’s a terrible mistake. I work in Earl’s Court and thought give it a try. I had tasteless king prawn biryani -£10.95 (4 pieces of smallest prawn I have ever seen). Dirty table cloth and dirty atmosphere. Staff looks like delivery guy wearing hoodies.

Have been there a few time, by convenience as close to the hotel when my parents stay in earls court. However never again. Staff always push you to order more and more. Small portions, food not that fresh and bland. High prices and service charge optional but almost compulsory from the attitude of the staff..avoid.

Fancied a traditional curry- and it was fine. Nice friendly staff, VERY dated decor, but the food was good and it was cheap. Probably not worth making a trip to but worth going if you are in the area.

After reading reviews on TA we were hesitant but decided to give it a try. We visited on a Sunday night around 6 pm. The service was super friendly. A lot of TA reviews mentioned the decor which was fine. It wasn't extravagant and maybe a little dated but who cares. It was your average home town curry house. They were playing nice music in the background and the service was good. We started with the pompadoms and chutneys which were okay. We had the Peshwari Naan which was average. The vegetable samosas where good. We ordered the chicken Madras which was okay, not spicy and was a small portion. We also ordered the vegetable dansak and the Bombay aloo which was extremely flavorful, spicy, and delicious and the portions were larger. So it seems like if you don't mind vegetarian then this is the place to go. The best part was the Cobra beers which were ice cold. Bottom line we would recommend.

I saw the restaurant ,the prices seemed reasonable and the décor inside didn't seem up to much , but the food was good value for money, it was Tuesday evening and when I sat down the restaurant was empty within 30 minutes it was packed, I haven't anything to complain about the food was good value for money, staff friendly and attentive.

Andrò contro corrente rispetto alla maggioranza... Alla fine il locale è carino il cibo non è male e mi sono trovato bene... Non è il miglior indiano che abbia mangiato ma appena arrivati ci hanno offerto una specie di piadina rigida con 3 salse... Poi abbiamo preso 2 birre da 66 indiana... 2 antipasti 2 primi piatti e 2 contorni... Porzioni belle abbondanti eh... La sera avevo una bella pancia piena...il tutto per 50 sterline totali... Alla fine costa poco e si mangia abbastanza bene... Io lo consiglio

Jeg har bodd ved Earl's Court flere ganger de siste årene, og kommer ofte tilbake til denne restauranten. London har de beste indiske restaurantene i verden, og når man er her bør man spise indisk. Men her synes jeg nivået synker for hvert år. Fortsatt hvite duker, men gulv og vegger ser mer og mer slitte ut. Satt ved vinduet. Det er jo fint, men denne kvelden var det kaldt. Til og med lenger inn i lokalet satt folk med ytterjakker på. Åpen dør inn til kjøkken viser med tydelighet at orden og hygiene ikke kommer i første rekke. Maten er fortsatt god og forholdsvis rimelig. Men helhetsbildet er ikke godt nok. Her trengs en større opprydning til før jeg returnerer. Heldigvis trenger man ikke gå sulten gjennom dette området, nok av andre spisesteder, selv om det mangler en annen gjennomført indisk opplevelse.

Found this small well established Indian restaurant whilst wandering the streets near Earls Court in search of a place to eat. Although nearly full of what appeared to be a good mix of regulars and tourists, I was soon seated with a chilled glass of Cobra and some fresh popadoms whilst I chose off the main menu. Attentive service and a very tasty prawn saag puts this place on my list for returning. Highly recommended.

Arrived at Earls Court Tube station and was looking for somewhere to eat, Indian was preferential, quickly came across New Asia its very close on Hogarth Road.Restaurant is dated, but that goes with being nearly 64 years old in London, don't let that put you off, the menu offers plenty to chose from, the food is tasty and beer is available in the large bottles which is always a bonus. The size of the restaurant is cosy, service was quick, attentive and prices are very reasonable. I will go back here on my next visit to London.

Nous avons séjournés 3 jours à londres pour le festival jamaîcain , nous sommes tombés sur ce restaurant qui offre une cuisine traditionnelle , un service de qualité , des prix plus que corrects , je me suis régalée ... Cependant ne faites pas les malins avec les piments , vous seriez surpris ! Le personnel ainsi que le patron sont d'une gentillesse extrème (ils nous ont dépannés en glaçons pour notre chambre d'hôtel ) . Je le recommande vivement et je sais dores et déjà que j'y retournerai avec plaisir la prochaine fois que j'irai à londres . Céline et Quentin

Visited here on the way to the football. Inside the restaurant it's very dated and in need of refurbishment but ultimately it's the food we came for.Food was ok but nothing special. Ordered Chicken Balti which was ok (although only had 4 pieces of tough chicken in it!) and a garlic nan bread which although was nice and soft it didn't taste like there was any garlic on it. The Bombay aloo side dish wasn't too bad and had a bit of flavour.All in all I paid under £20 for a drink, poppadoms, main and side dish which is very cheap for the area so I can't complain too much as the food was edible and I've suffered no ill effects!I wouldn't go again though and the fact we were the only people there on a match night probably sums the place up

.....is this little gem... Yes, it's a bit run down. Yes it's a bit of a squeeze inside - but the food, which is what you're there for, is absolutely fine. The actual curry portions are a little bit on the small side, but the sides like rice & naan are enough for anyone. I would say that it's best to not sit at the table by the till - it's quite squashed there and you're blocking a gangway too. Also it's a little off putting when the "staff" are standing there in the "bar" area, right next to the table - it doesn't feel very private or relaxing (maybe that's just me..). Any other table would be fine I'm sure. I would go back.

This is an old fashioned British curry house tucked down a little back street full of interesting places. They are very keen that you have their set menu which at £14.95 covers starter, nan, main, vegetable and ice ream is great value. Not cordon bleu but decent and very good value
