Was approached at entrance in a friendly manner, although yhe restauarant was busy at this time about 7pm in the evening. We was still attended to snd felt welcome. Their poppadoms was the best its must ! They catered for hot spicey dishes and mild dishes. The butter chicken was the perfect consistency. The king prawns was a generous amount too, perfect for a meeting after work. Definetly will visit again when im in the area.

We are enticed off the street by the misleading and alluring set menu offer: 1 starter, 1 main, I veg side, rice and naan. However, once you are seated by the strangely sinister staff, the menu alerts you that the set menu is indeed VERY SET. You have no choice of dish, unlike the billboard claims. I still ordered it, as the other items were a little on the pricey for what Kwality is (or isn't). A small thing to pick on - but quite important - is the horrible, almost plastic-y chinaware. When our food was unceremoniously plonked on our table, I was in shock. The 'main' was in a bowl the size of a tuna can, and so was the veg curry. The meat was almost certainly microwaved, the samosa came in a swamp of tinned salad, and even the poor old Pilau was not really well cooked. Even the tap water tasted vaguely of microwave radiation. To be fair, the naan was very nice, although I wish the menu specified that it was HALF a naan, not a whole one. We left Kwality unfilled, unhappy and with that wonderful and quintessentially Gourmet aftertaste of frying oil and bitty Turmeric. Its not quality, its Kwality. Just go to the Thai place next door.

The set lunch menu seems like good value but you are given no choice despite it claiming you get a starter, main and rice where as in reality they give you a preselected starter and main that they have put on the menu but not on the sign outside. The curry was so small for the price, barely a starter on its own. Oily food of awful quality that tasted as though it had been microwaved. The service was atrocious and the staff are rude and the food takes hours to come. This restaurant is in no way 'kwality'.

I called in on the way back from the V&A, attracted by the large sign outside advertising the Afternoon Set Lunch for £9.95. I fancied a change from the usual sandwich shop and thought I'd give it a try.Well, the sign is extremely misleading! Trading Standards should be on to them!!! The 'starter', 'main course' and 'pilau rice' are tiny 1/3 size portions served in little dishes on a big plate, while the 'naan' is only half a naan. They bear no resemblance whatsoever, at all, to the food illustrated. And there's a compulsory 10 per cent service charge, so the price is totally misleading too!Having said that, the food itself was very nice: the naan was delicious, the rice was nice and fluffy and the chicken rogan josh was full of intense flavour. So, if you don't mind being made to feel like an exploited tourist, it's actually not too bad for £10.90. The room is warm and the service is not too bad if you can succeed in engaging the staff in conversation. For a light bite it's quite recommendable. Why pay £20 or more for a big meal you don't really need if it's just the curry hit you're after? You won't feel bloated afterwards.I might return. But the competition (Khan's of Kensington, Moti Mahal) is very good, so make sure you check them out too.

My wife and I visited in February mostly because it was close to our hotel and it wasn't anywhere near as busy as some of the restaurants on the Exhibition Rd pedestrian plaza. Service was prompt and polite. The food was quite good. My wife doesn't like too much spice so she had a chicken dish that was just right for her. I had lamb which was also delicious. Stopped in here on the way home after a show at the Royal Albert Hall. Hadn't read the reviews so this is an unbiased review based on our visit.Service was pleasant enough, maybe not over the top friendly but polite and efficient given the restaurant was filling up pretty quickly (probably a lot of people doing the same thing). We had a few dishes between us: meat, rice, naan and poppadoms and two large cobras. Against some of the reviews I actually found the food to be very nice, it was tasty and hot. My partner (who's not great with spice) had the chicken korma and said that it was pretty hot/spicy - maybe a one off and someone was too liberal with the spices or maybe it's how they make it. My lamb sheesh kebabs also packed a punch so maybe watch the even spicier dishes!!The negative I am giving is towards the bill. The total was a decent price for the location (around £40) as someone else mentioned. The bill included a service charge. As I was going to leave a tip anyway I was happy to leave this on. I paid by credit card and was asked "Do you want to leave a gratuity?". I looked at our waiter and said "The bill already covers a service charge, doesn't it?" at which point he agreed and handed me the card machine to finish off.I thought that was a bit cheeky and for an unsuspecting tourist or for anyone who doesn't glance at the bill - you might find you'll end up paying a lot more in tips than you anticipated. So watch out.

Ok for those of you are rating this restaurant really poorly partly because of the spelling of the name- it is actually intentioned. Kwality is an extremely famous food chain in India- it's like DQ in America. I guess the intentioned play on words didn't work for the restaurant. Don't get all the panning of this place. On a trip to London, after eating plates of breads and muffins and English food, I was desperate for some Indian dishes. Went in (sign was half pushed into the roof, could barely read name) and the staff was very nice. (Maybe because it was completely empty except for some couple that was sitting outside smoking cigarettes and a pile of empty beer bottles on the ground by their table. Of course, the water was unopened.) I told the waiter about my allergies to eggs and dairy and he offered to make me a dish that was not on the menu- prawn bhuna (which got me a little bit confused- why is it not on the menu if you are going to serve it?) Dish came in about ten minutes, and actually tasted very good- I ate all of it. I skipped dessert because I was getting pretty tired due to jet lag. Anyway, this was a pretty nice experience, considering the reviews on Yelp. I have had worse.

Close to the metal underneath the food gets refried, so you want what is on top. Some things run out of supply and no care to refill like chamusas or nan.On the drinks you would expect an effort from the restaurant to make some extra money.. Slow, and I had to ask for a bottle of water 3/times before we got it...You eat and that is it... And there you go again. On a positive note they did not charge for the kid aged 6.

We popped in here on a Friday night. It was quite busy but we were given a table after 5-10 minutes (we probably would have left if they'd have warned us about the wait as we were stood in front of the door with nowhere else to go). The food was pretty bland. Poor quality curry. The service was ok.

Another gem of a restaurant serving great curries. Very pleasant decor which adds to the experience. Great starters of onion bhaji and poppadoms followed by tasty curry. I must revisit as its been a while.

The location was convenient, and it was busy inside so it seemed like logical place to try out. My dish was kind of dull, but OK. My wife ordered a spicy dish and enjoyed it quite a bit. The service was good, but it was a bit too crowded to be comfortable, and downright hot inside until they opened the front door.

The restaurant at a nearby museum was not appealing, so decided to look for one outside. Attracted by the light and clean appearance of the Kwality and the 'all you can eat' buffet on offer. About ten dishes available plus nan bread, bargees and samosas. The chicken and meat dishes were tender; enjoyed the curried potatoes and the various mixed vegetable dishes. Ideal for a quick meal when visiting the South Kensington museums.

Food was for at least week ago! Tasteless! Dirty jar of water! You have to eat from the same plate and they bother (even after you ask for) to change your starter plate for the main!!! Very bad! Please do not spoil your dining and do not waist your money! Tesco microwave food is much better than this restaurant!

We popped in here for a quick meal before going to the Proms. It was very quiet when we arrived but soon filled up. We had tandoori lamb chops to start which were very tasty and well cooked, followed by some delicious curry dishes. We had two starters, two mains, two sides and two drinks for about £40, a bargain by any standards. Would definitely recommend.

Pulled in off the street and as the place was hectic busy we went along. The staff were nice, helpful and friendly. The tables and toilets were clean. Reasonably priced but some may say you get what you pay for!!The food was 'ok'. It was bland and all a bit predictable and 'samey'. Would I go back. No probably not.

The reviews are certainly very mixed here. We had a lovely dinner. We eat Indian quite regularly, and we thought the food was very good. The service was also fine -- if anything, I thought at the start they were almost too attentive. When our waiter forgot our papadam, he profusely apologized and then comped another side dish we had ordered. Yes, the decor isn't anything to write home about, but we're not really into the white tablecloth/gold elephants decor you find in most Indian restaurants in London. I'd say this place is perfectly fine if you want a casual Indian restaurant.

We had a good dinner here last week after visting the museum of natural history. Kind waiters and good food. The Peshwari Naan was delish! A bit bland on the decor side but not every indian restaurant has to have golden elephants all over, right? Good location.

We arrived here as it seemed the quickest on the street. Service was as bland as the food served. I'm certain if we had microwaved frozen indian supermarket meals we would have had a better meal.Add to the fact the waiter seemed to serve dishes holding them with his finger in the food...needless to say we will never return.Gordon Ramsey , your next kitchen nightmare awaits.....

My husband and I had two dinners here, mostly due to the promixity to our hotel. The decor is very dull and needs a lot of improvement to achieve a cosy feel to it. We had two different waiters, one of whom was very nice and he let us sample the rosé wine before we ordered. The other waiter was so devoid of any charm that it was nearly comical. The food, though, was definitively a nice surprise. We had some very spicy curries and naan bread, all very nice. Having said that, on a trip to London with zillions of restaurants to choose from, I'd go somewhere else in the future.

Approached initially by an employee ushering us in with the offer of free drink for our daughter, should have warned us!! There were no other customers so we were sat in the window to lure other poor unsuspecting victims. The worst indian I have every tasted, watery, cool and lack of choice. The waiter was positively miserable, quite frankly couldn't we couldn't wait to leave.

We were glad to read other reviews on returning home from our London break because it means anyone looking up this place on Tripadvisor will steer well clear.Trying to avoid rammed and somewhat soulless cafes we settled on "Kwality", this was a terrible mistake. The food wasn't bad, but all through our meal the owner (I'm guessing?) stood over two chairs nearby, staring out of the window with a livid expression, which made us pretty uncomfortable (especially as we were the only customers). We wondered if his English was bad, if he was depressed over something, and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but over the course of the meal we realised he had a bad attitude and that was it.Other reasons this was poor "kwality" -The fact that we were the only people in the restaurant and not one other person stepped in during our time there spoke volumes (we imagined it was a slow start or something, but nope)Fair enough we ordered off the menu, but god knows how much buffet food they waste each day when nobody turns upThe waiter brought our mains before we finished our starter and grunted rather than spoke (even that took some prompting)Sometimes when someone holds the door open for you it feels like they're shooing you out. This was like that. The whole thing felt like some comedy sketch, reallyDidn't say thank you (for paying, our custom, or anything)He said I should drink the rest of my beer first when my girlfriend asked for the bill. His tone smacked of male chauvinism. Eventually he decided he would be bothered to get the bill, after prowling the window to presumably glare at far more successful chain cafes and scowl at happier customers. The bill was unfathomable with symbols (probably of hate) and when he realised we were spending more than half a minute reading it he quoted the price for the drinks. Helpful!I sensed then that we were probably paying for the service, the grunts, the comments, the horrible looks (looked like he wanted to kill me when I went to use the toilet). Basically, like some of these other reviewers, we just wanted to get the hell out by this time, so didn't push it further. He can have his ten percent, but he's never having our custom again, or I expect anyone else's if they have the misfortune of stepping into this restaurant!

Well, it looks like there is a mix of opinions, so I will rate the dishes I tried.Peshwari Naan: Fluffy Naan With Coconut, Almonds & Raisins. This was excellent. Just the right amount of sweetness with very nice flavor. I'm trying to duplicate this at home. Loved it and was sorry I didn't get some more to takeout.Malwa Chicken Or Lamb: Marinated Chicken Or Lamb Cooked In A Specially Prepared Mango & Almond With Fresh Cream. A Sumptuous Dish Which Is Sweet & Mild Palate. I had the chicken and this was also so good I would like the recipe. This was not hot--I don't like hot curries. The flavor was rich, but not overpowering. Mango and chicken combined flavors went very well together.Service was fine, though slow. Perhaps they prepare each meal from scratch instead of reheating previously prepared dishes. It was a nice, quiet place, which I really appreciate after a long day. Not crowded. Staff isn't super-friendly, but not rude either. I tried to leave an extra tip and they gave it back.I'd go there again. I should say I'm a good cook myself--I even went to cooking school in two countries, so I'm fussy about food. I can't say why other were disappointed. Maybe I had the luck to arrive when the best cook was on duty.

We were looking for indian veg food and ended up at this place, one of the worst places I've been to in London. It is crowded due to the tourists but do not be deceived by that, the curries tasted horrible and weren't fresh at all. The naan's were extremely dry and did not have any flavour. I would avoid at all cost.

This is the first time I have ever gone to a restaurant where I felt the service warranted a bad review. The waiter was incredibly rude: gruff tone of voice, walking away before we had finished ordering, bringing us neither serviettes nor water until we had nearly finished eating. I felt very uncomfortable, like anything we asked for was too much effort. The food was adequate, though a little too oily; definitely not one of the better tasting Indian restaurants in London. We had to ask for the bill three times, and when it came there was a 10% service charge which we couldn't be bothered to dispute with the surly waiter.Definitely one to avoid.

My friend really wanted to go for indian and since this was the closest restaurant, we decided to go in. Wish I hadn't bothered. They had a 'buffet' for a decent price of various different curries but they weren't filling it up very often, and they didn't taste very authentic. Wasn't sure about the chicken in the curry either, so had to pick that out.The service was fine, nothing spectacular. The main issue was the food - almost inedible, leaving me wishing we'd chosen somewhere else. Would not recommend.

I Visited this place with my wife and son. This place does not deserve to be called a restaurant. Even the staff working at fast food places are much more polite than those who work here.I ordered drinks and starters, asked waiter for few minutes to decide on main course. He arrogantly demanded us to order everything together. It looked like all staff members were in hurry and behaving like headless chickens. Manager does not know if orders are served to a table or not and came asking if we were finished even before serving main course. That enraged me and walked out of restaurant paying for everything which was not yet served. Shameless people, forget about asking apology , charged me for all those items which i ordered and not yet served. Seriously guys never ever visit this place and spoil your time.
