Lovely little pub, really friendly staff and management, food was excellent and certainly great value, would certainly recommend and will certainly return, nice big garden area to sit in when the weather is good 👍

Reviews said this was dog friendly I totally disagree, we went with out dog and from the off the greeting was rude!! We had read reviews and were planning to eat but after being greeted so badly and the dog made unwelcome we didn’t stop! Agree thus is dated but also not clean! Would not recommend to dog owners!

Nice Area to gave a pub in . Pub is very tired and really needs some updates. We didn't eat but the food looked, good pint of ale. Nice beer garden. Camper vans can book to stay overnight. Dogs are very welcome as we were the only table without one.

Interesting old pub and location. We walked to here for a drink whilst staying nearby. Would pop in again if nearby and would like to try the food next time.

Nice pub right by the sea ,lovely home made fresh food and reasonable prices ,nice garden when weather is warm to sit in free for motor homes to park up too.

Went in at 1.30pm in September told they wouldn't be able to take orders for food for at least half an hour. Didn't look very busy so didn't bother to stay as it would have been at least an hour before we got fed. Not impressed.

Been coming here for years but it's got more popular now ,food is lovely and gets busy good prices too,will be back soon

We visited here while on holiday at Haven in Caister Bay. We came across it on a walk so booked in for Sunday lunch. ( you must pre book otherwise you wont get in) we wasnt disappointed. The best Sunday carvery we have had! A great system of taking so many tables at a time to queue at carvery server and to save congestion.The meat was cooked lovely and a great choice of vegetables. It all tasted completely home cooked. I am fussy when I eat out as I prefer home cooked food but this was a huge hit. Definitely give it a try. Wished we lived closer bit will come back here if we come to Caister on Sea again. Nice outdoor tables snd benches, very dog friendly. Overall a welcoming friendly little pub owners take a pride in it. Delighted by the price too.

On holiday in caister, we was all hungry so looked on Google come across this place , and glad we did . The meals are lovely I had scampi and chips, my daughter had tikka masala, she never normally finishes hers she cleared her plate, my son ate all he's chicken and chips in a basket, and my other half enjoyed the burger, very filling, staff are friendly 👍👍would recommend

Me and my husband stumbled across this pub on our walk down the beach from caister haven, we each had breakfast which was the best food we have eaten all week, the meat is fresh from butchers and really worth the money! We decided to have a quick drink in the garden before heading back and found the price again to be good! Love the old fashioned pub vibe and friendly customer service, next time we are down this way on holiday we will definitely be popping in :)

The Barman/landlord is Good and grumpy. (The sign behind the bar does warn you) It has a 1970's vibe (love thy neighbour) and Fawlty Towers customer service. GB news was on the TV's..... Beer was great and the cheapest around this part of Norfolk. perfect on a sunny day for an outside drink. The garden is quirkily lovely and has a quintessentially English seaside feel. You can't imagine this pub anywhere else.

We hired an Haven caravan which was beautiful . The site was lovely and clean . Entertainment good . Staff were excellent . We didn’t take any children but they were very well catered for ,plenty for them to do . We ate off site most of the time , as I like vegetables etc and on site it was mostly quick food , chips , burgers etc . Prices for the caravan were very reasonable for this time of the year . Really had a good time and ready to book again .

We just had a lovely pint in here as unfortunately it doesn't do food! The pint was very nice, and they have a lovely garden which we sat in! It's also got path too beach which is behind the hedges! This pub is in Caister!

Used to be good. Now you have to book for Sunday lunch (even takeaway!) It's highly inconvenient when your on holiday.

Tried to book dinner but even though the place looked quiet we were told they were fully booked and to come back next week.

We absolutely love this place, right by the beach, very friendly staff, stopped the night here, was too late for food but enjoyed a few drinks in the garden

Great place to stop for lunch while walking along the seafront

Tried the breakfast menu that has been recently introduced and it was stunning. Vegetarian for me and it was tasty and plenty for me. Would definitely recommend.

Tucked away this place offers good solid food and refreshments with a good outdoors located close to the beach. Car park is limited but free.

Lovely pub run by very nice staff. Campervans very welcome (phone before arriving.. about 9 spaces for vans). Food exceptional and very reasonable. Vegan options. Dog friendly. On the beach, which is a great walk all the way to Great Yarmouth and beyond. Will return.

It's a great place, busy, but not crowded

A great pub where you can park your motorhome with prior booking. The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. This is a pub where the locals will make you feel very welcome.

Good selection of beers and spirits, good food, genial host, makes you feel really comfortable, a very nice place to go to.

Sunday dinner at the Never Turn Back. Wow!!. The carvery here is just out of this world. £9 for a choice of 3 meats. 2 large slices of meat and as much vegatables that you can get on your plate. I went for the roast pork and paid just £1 extra to get another slice. The meat was succulent and melt in your mouth. The crackling was crispy with a great salty taste. The potatoes were crispy, the veg was perfect, not mushy, the gravy was nice and thick. Together with perfectly made stuffing and a yorkshire pudding on the side the dinner was completely fullfilling. My mum and dad told me that I would have the best carvery ever and they were not wrong. You need to make sure you book ahead to get a table at this wonderful pub in Caister. Get yourself down there for the best Sunday dinner you will ever have. Dog friendly as well.

Sunday lunch was the best we have ever had in an eatery. Choice of 4 roasts and all the veg were fresh not frozen. Lovely staff and reasonably priced so popular you have to book well in advance. Thanks again for a lovely Sunday lunch.

First vist today for a carvery lunch. I can honestly say it is one of the best we have ever had l. Lovey tender meat thickly sliced. Mash potatoes are definitely the best ever. Roast potatoes very nice stuffing. Good choice of vegetables and big Yorkshire puds everything cooked to perfection. Served with a smile. The staff make you feel very welcome and go out of there way to help. My wife is a wheelchair user and they really helped her taking her to the carvery and getting her food for her and taking her back to our table so I could get my carvery much appreciated l. 2 carverys 2 drinks and 2 deserts for £32 very good value for money we will definitely be back.

Had a very enjoyable early evening at the pub. There were 6 adults and 4 children and One dog. We were made very welcome on 14.10.23. The food was excellent and great value. The staff went above and beyond we have a very fussy eater and they accommodated her needs fully. Can not praise the pub any higher than 10/10

A great family run pub with great food and a great atmosphere. Pre booked motorhomes are welcome to stay overnight if they us the pub.

Did not eat as there were dogs in the place my glass was sticky and inappropriate for the drink. The toilets need a thorough cleaning. Will not be back.

We stayed here in our motorhome. The food was really nice and very reasonable. If you're looking for an overnight park up we'd recommend you give this pub a go. The landlord Ian is very helpful, ring and book a table. Close to a beautiful sand beach.

It was our first time we had been to this pub and what a hidden gem. The actual pub was just gorgeous. Beautiful beer garden and the beach is just a stones throw away. Inside we were greeted by friendly staff. We chose to have a bite to eat for lunch and what can I say. The food was reasonably price, great value for money and was cooked to perfection! Can’t speak highly enough about this establishment. Will certainly be returning.

Absolutely fabulous meal with my family - Ian welcomed us back as if we were long lost family, we regularly eat at the Never Turn Back when we are on holiday. Sandra stopped to chat, even though she was busy cooking. It is like coming home, as both Ian and Sandra remember names. Nothing is too much trouble for Ian, Sandra or their staff. I cannot recommend eating at the Never Turn Back, but I would always ring or book if you want an evening meal in the restaurant. If you have your dogs, they will always accommodate you in the bar or beer garden. It is a fabulous pub, where manners are appreciated & deserved. Cannot recommend highly enough x

Nice place, will visit again food was very good the staff where helpful and friendly. Back again this year 2022 already been here twice and booked a table for Friday. This place is a gem. The best place to eat and drink in the Great Yarmouth area. Back again 2023 still a gem, we Two more visits plan this week

Great pub, good beer great pub garden, right next to the sea

We like it here so much we returned for seconds! Really lovely staff, food is some of the best we’ve had. If you want dinner, you need to book well in advance. Highly recommended.

We came for dinner on Thursday afternoon after a 2 hour drive up from Essex and apart from our chatter being interrupted by a very rude family in the garden we had a delicious meal - so much so we came again today to get out of the rain. The food is such good value and always delicious 😋 100% recommend

My house my rules is not what you say to paying customers, for moving a table in the beer garden. The rudest landlord i have ever come across.... made to feel like i was in a prisoner of war camp. Certainly will not be coming here again... give this place a wide berth....

Lovely pub, great location, friendly and helpful staff. Bonus for us it is dog friendly. We stopped here for a drink and a rest before walking behind the pub to the beach. Great view's of the sea. Nicely spaced seating outside and a lovely area of seats made to feel like you are on the beach 👍🏻😊

Will not be visiting again, neither will the family on the next table. The landlord made a huge deal about us moving a picnic table 2 metre. I was incredulous and when I asked why I was told my house my rules and that we should have asked. He was very misogynistic and as a woman u felt quite uncomfortable as he shouted in my eldery friends face.

We were having such a nice lunch in the Never Turn Back. Sadly our pleasant experience was destroyed by the most entitled people I have seen in ages. The landlord tried to exercise his managerial rights in asking a customer at a garden table to not move the garden furniture ( largely because, for customers safety the tables are covered by CCTV) which invoked the most obscene torrent of foul language and abuse. The professional response from the pubs management confirm to me that this is a great place to visit who have the customers interests at heart. I just wish those entitled punters would stay away.

Visited here for a spott of lunch and was very disappointed by the staff. The food was nice however after seeing the staff's level of cleanliness I was instantly put off. The young girl behind the bar was constantly touching dogs then serving food without seemingly washing her hands. I understand this is a dog friendly pub however you would expect the staff not to touch them while serving food and drinks. When my husband went to bar for drinks, the filthy man behind the bar and after reading some of the other reviews I assume is the landlord. Decided to blow smoke into my husbands face he did apologise through his own laughter as he seemed to find this funny. This was incredibly rude and disrespectful, I understand that these electronic cigarettes are not illegal in pubs however I would advise that it's not appropriate while serving people's food and drinks. I have reported all of this to EHO and I hope this is rectifed soon, as I work in the culinary industry myself and this level of uncleanliness is both irresponsible and disgusting.

Was pleasantly surprised when I ate at this pub. As the food at other pubs in the town is rubbish. Anyway had the best fish and chips here ever. The pub is a bit tired but it has a certain local feel about it. It’s right by the beech and does a good pint. Dog friendly and defo worth a visit .

If your looking for good value British pub food this is the place for you excellent portion sizes and red hot meals . Dogs are welcome but be advised you will need to book

Bought back memories of childhood, Went out of season on a lovely day although quite I bet it gets very busy. Brilliant location and a iconic building definitely worth a try, the service was great and the food was fresh and tasty. Good choice of beers from the bar, lovely interior with a large open garden, easily accessible from the beach and town.

Nice pub with good atmosphere. Food good pub grub. Stayed in the motorhome in the car park for free if you eat in the pub. We'll worth a visit.

If you are in the bar (they closed the lounge at 3.00pm when we arrived), you HAVE to like dogs. You'll find yourself being stared at by other people's dogs, which the bar was full of. The owner was smoking vapes behind the bar. Food was okay but I won't return.

Just spent 3 nights in a campervan in the car park of this lovely place which is next to the beach and really quiet. We booked ahead as limited spaces and didn't want to risk not staying here having returned after a stay at Easter. The staff are really friendly, helpful and very accommodating to your needs. Food is tasty, good portions and well priced. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else if in the area.
