Fantastic fish and chips and the homemade pies are scrumptious staff very friendly best chippy in shoebury good prices to.

What a lovely find this is! Apart from great fish and chips it was so nice to have some friendly chat whilst waiting. Both the owner and the young lady were so friendly. We hope to be back soon but wishing this business every success as they certainly deserve it!

Will someone photograph the menu / price list and post it on here. I used to go to this place when it was called Owens. Mr Owen, his Wife and Daughter used to run it as a Chippy. At that time it was the best chip shop within 50 miles. You could get a portion of chips for 10p.

Fish and chips on Friday 4th August. Food was piping hot and all was perfection! Will not go anywhere else. Sooo good!

I recommend using cod fish and fries and green peas. Awesome. The same fish in our country does not compare in taste. Every time I visit my daughter, I have to buy this fish. I recommend it.

Never been here before was in the area so I decided to stop and get some dinner they took the skin off my cod for me and the cod and chips were very tasty indeed well done all round I have autism and find ordering difficult not all disabilities are visible kind regards Paul

Went here for the first time after discovering that McCoy’s fish and chip shop by Asda is a cash only operation when I only had card. To make matters worse all the cash machines at Asda were out of service. So I went looking for an alternative. After seeing some good reviews on Google I decided to drive to Nessy’s and so pleased I did. Great food, really friendly staff and decent prices. I think we have found our new go to local fish and chip shop. Will definitely be back from no on. Highly recommended.

Best fish and chip takeaway in Shoebury. The owner is local and works the fryers himself so he really cares about the quality of the food. The service at the counter is quick, efficient, friendly and the girls have never got my order wrong. I never go anywhere else.

A lot of my chips had lots of eyes and peel. Above the usual acceptable amount.

I call this the The Sportsmans: Decent little snack yesterday. Large cod, Steak pie, large battered sausage, Pancake Roll, bread and butter roll, chips, curry sauce and gravy washed down with a can of Rio. All extremely pleasurable apart from Pancake Roll but I'll let them off that! Also worth noting that prices are very reasonable. #currysauce is amazing 👏 4 stars from me!

This is the most disgusting fish and chip shop I have ever experienced in my life! The oil was clearly very old with a horrible taste to it. The fish was cooked from frozen NOT FRESH and the batter was so thick and greasy, I could vomit just thinking about it. This place cannot have passed its food hygiene inspection. WARNING ⚠️ DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH!

Thought this would be good way to end a morning on the beach and the reviews seemed good. Sadly my own experience wasn’t. The batter for the cod was greasy and the 2 large chips portions were mediocre. The board said you could buy halves which I’d not heard of but apparently it’s just a small portion with the plate only half full. So I asked what a large was. The woman indicated a portion about double so I thought great I’ll have 2 larges. When I got back to the car and opened the bag the chip portions were a joke! I can’t recommend this place… unless you want greasy fish and small chip portions charged as a large.

I don't understand the good reviews here. Took myself out for a day off at the beach today and wanted to end it with a traditional fish 'n' chips supper. I'd read the reviews and made a beeline for this chippie, but I found the batter was really greasy, the chips underdone and even greasier and even the gherkin didn't smell right! The oil didn't smell good and I couldn't eat it and binned the lot. Sorry. I hate doing bad reviews, but if they want to keep the good ones, they need to not serve this level of food. I only gave 2 stars because they were sort of friendly.

Absolutely delicious....phoned order through...10min wait for it to be ready. As I walked in it was being bagged up. 2 med cod and chips. Could easily have done with 1 portion of chips between us. Highly recommend.

Wow! The pies are in a league of their own. I called the manager tonight as I was blown away by the Cornish pasties. He told me makes them himself! What a very talented guy he is. A few years ago Harrods sold fabulous Cornish pasties and I used to treat myself to one if I was in London, then they changed suppliers and the later ones were never as good. Nessy's pasties are every bit as good as those original Harrods ones. I will be going back for more!

Freshly fried Haddock... old oil and very old tasteless discolured tough fish. Did not have time to return but felt they knew it was sub-standard when they served and wrapped. Will not be going back.

The best chippie in Shoebury in my opinion. Clean and friendly - unlike other options locally who (last time I checked) had poor star ratings. Owner always good for a chat too, and will help with any requirements you have like skin off etc.

We've been coming to this fish bar for nearly 6 years. Its consistently fantastic. Fish is always cooked fresh (and to perfection), the fish itself is clearly of a high standard. Staff are really friendly. Can't recommend enough.

I found Nessys on my phone while travelling round the area last Saturday, and I was not disappointed. The service was nice and friendly, and the food was lovely. I had a steak pie, which I believe are hand made, and was very tasty. As for the chips (cheesy) I can't remember having better, they were delicious. I will definitely be returning.

Crispy batter, fresh chips, fresh fish. What more do you want. They provided friendly service and did not charge me extra for ketchup. I love a good chippy, and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the chips were not triple fried. Otherwise i took it down to East Beach Park and enjoyed it with the lovely view. I will definitely go back.

Never visited before. It’s a quiet, unpretentious chippy. There is free parking along Ness road. It’s not far from East beach, the Garrison and Shoebury Common beach. I did a test run of buying just a couple of portions of medium chips (cost under £4). They serve several sizes including a cone of chips. They were freshly cooked, super hot and tasty. Don’t be put off by the unpretentiousness of this chippy. They have a five star food hygiene rating. Absolutely recommended.

Tried Nessy’s on the off chance, and I really enjoyed it. The girl behind the till was really helpful, the food was great, freshly made pies are well worth trying with a generous helping of chips. Fantastic work, definitely coming back.
