Wimpy in Southend-on-Sea

Definitely recommend this branch, staff is very lovely and service is always fast, also quality of food never disappoints. They also have quite a few veggie options compared to other fast food restaurants.

My husband and I ate here before we went to the Cliffs theatre for a show. We were the first people in, and we were made to feel really welcome. We both had quarter pounders with bacon and cheese. For dessert, my hubby had chocolate brownie with cream, and I had a strawberry Eton mess - lovely!

Over an hour wait for 4 milkshakes and only 2 came! WTH

Awful experience due to the courier.

I had to wait for a long time almost an hour followed with my ordering so altogether an hour 15 minutes

don’t order the peas. they don’t give you nearly enough. paid like two pound for practically nothing

The lady who runs this is really nice. Burgers are nice. Chips are better than mcd's. Kids meal has massive portions!

Hour and a half wait for 2 items that were stone cold and given 4 mozzarella sticks not the 6 that I ordered. Won’t be ordering again

I waited for forty minutes for a triple cheese without receiving my drink in the meantime. I did a headcount and there were zero Just Eat drivers, four sit-ins, and two others who were dissatisfied with their desert. We were then told that they were busy..

Despite asking for no lettuce or tomato this request was ignored

Estimated delivery time before I made the order was 15-25 minutes. If I knew it would take an hour and a half for a couple of muffins to arrive I would have never ordered and I never will again. Order still hasn’t arrived now even though Just Eat says it has. Appalling

Spoke to the restaurant on the phone. When food was 15 mins late. They said food had left 27 mins ago. Food arrived cold.

Hamburger was lovely as usual, but the Brie with Cranberry sauce was not good. The cranberry sauce had just been scooped out of a jar. Even the Brie had to be thrown out.

Outstanding! Burger sauce in a separate pot (as requested) as it makes the buns go soggy. 🤤😋👍👍

The food was cold the drink had no flavour supposed to be strawberry no taste what so ever. Last meal we had was fine so might give it another chance. If I read it right the delivery time was 15-30 mins it was nearly an hour.

It has a large selection of meals . It did take a while for her to make the milkshakes, but it was good . The desserts were good, but the waffles and ice cream were a bit stiff

Food was all soggy so really ruined the taste of it, ended up throwing most of it away. Will not order from here again. Prices have gone up but food quality really low! Really unimpressed.

From the time it stated meal was with the courier it was around 30 mins late. Cold and sweating in the packaging. I live 5 mins from the shop. Usually it’s piping hot and delicious, that’s what you expect when you pay £30 for burger and chips. We didn’t enjoy it and as it was past 9pm too late to order anything else

I did ask for no salad on the burger 🍔 but it came with salad. And chips were cold.

The burgers were slightly squashed due to packaging. Maybe consider an eco friendly box to avoid squished burgers.

Your scale won’t let me say it was 1.5hrs late I went out to get other food and then it was delivered as I was coming home. I tried to ring the restaurant 4 times. Completely unacceptable

Clean well cooked and presented breakfast at a fair price.

Driver was lovely but the food was awful. Some of it was so burnt that it was rock hard and black. 2 of our meals were inedible due to this. I can’t believe that they sent food out in that condition. Will not be ordering from this wimpy again.

When you see how sad people are on Social Media that their Local Wimpys are closing!! But you're dancing because WE STILL GOT OURS!! .....10/10 Everytime xx

Tried the new Louisiana burger, wasn't bad, food was well cooked & delivery was good, driver was very pleasant. Only down side was they sent plain fries & not the smokehouse seasoned fries.

They are consistently delivering on time with hot food and all items there. Chips were a bit dry.

Our usual go to Wimpy, you cannot fault anything with this restaurant.

Hamburger delivered not cheese burger called to request that I collect a cheeseburger as I do not like plain burgers the lady said she can only give me the price for cheese back!! 23 pound I spent for cheeseburger and chips what I fancied purchased and don’t have

They did two cheese burger kids meals which was wrong.We ordered one cheese and one plain. Otherwise it was excellent but they need to get the order right!

Food was lovely, was spoilt by being over an hour late, as the food was unfortunately delivered over an hour later than I expected i had to feed my kids something else.

Disgusted with service from restaurant. Called to ask for a modification to the burger as forgot to add an order note, got told by the employee he was “too busy to talk now” and “it was (my) fault for not leaving a note”

Driver couldn't find my address because they weren't using Google maps then got rude at me because I couldn't describe where I lived other that the street name and surrounding areas.

Some confusion over what was and wasn't vegetarian due to how items were cooked, but once that was cleared up the food was fresh and tasty.

Placed the order in 5 minutes and received the food within 15 minutes which was great. Food came hot, everything we ordered came and I got 2 meals plus delivery for less than £20. I call that a win, would order from here again.

Nothing better than Wimpy - always the best at fast food burgers.

I love this wimpy and they have never failed to be punctual and provide hot , nice food. I talked on the phone with a person today after some confusion on my end and she was nothing but nice!

Nice food and warm, order was all correct. Unfortunately original delivery 1hr which is a long time and then this got further delayed by another half hour. Using Just Eat has been 50:50 with decent delivery times and then some really late and delayed times. Quicker picking up yourself.

Enjoyed the food loved it in fact only one thing wrong asked for BBQ sauce but got mayo

I started going here occassionally many years ago. I like that I am allowed to take my time, and just have a drink, and chill if I do not want to eat. I will remember to take pictures of my food next time I go, and upload. I am absolutely shocked at the vicious comment by a fake profile below, so, I am finally giving my own review. Although I have seen staff change, and come and go, even though not many are English staff, the international group who are happy to work there, are so friendly, and try very hard, in English, which is not their home language, to make you feel welcome. Never any rolling of eyes (as I see one liar claim), sneers and gritted teeth, but always a wide friendly smile. They are NEVER rude, as I have recently seen one nasty person, who is even going so far as to make multiple FAKE profiles, to falsely imply. How disgusting, and what a completely nasty person. The restaurant staff are patient, even when parents are not prepared to discipline their children, but allow them to run riot, shrieking and carrying on like banshees. They quietly ask that people take care with a child, to try to avoid the child being injured, especially when it is jumping all over the furniture. As much as I, as a woman, detest the need for SOME women to haul out their gazungas and flap them all over the place to "make a point". Most of the women I have seen do this, do try to be discreet, not wishing to offend others. ... sadly, not always the case. The staff never oggle or stare at anyone. And, in the many years I have been going here, I have never seen any woman who feels the need to be a public embarrassment to older women, who did know how to go out and not expose themselves, make a scene, as one woman has done a few days ago. The service, given lack of staff, is still quick, and the food is always carefully, and well prepared. Not only that, but they are always happy to change the order, if you are unhappy with what you are given. They also often give help to the needy. And, sometimes are even willing to meet shortfalls out of their own pockets! I have taken many friends from overseas here for a cheap, quick meal, and all of them have raved at the quality and reasonable price, as well as being impressed at the great, friendly, and caring service. I think this place deserves 10 stars, as a mid-range family-friendly restaurant. Anyone giving it 1 star, needs to see a psychiatrist, or should perhaps stop taking drugs.

Food arrived at 21.23, even though it was ordered before 8! I called the restaurant when received the notification enjoy your food, the staff were rude and not helpful at all, interrupted me while I was talking saying that there is a lot of traffic and I have to wait. Will never order from this restaurant ever again.

Food was due at 20.25, arrived at 21.05. Made 2 calls to restaurant & got 2 different answers. Only 1 driver on so not his fault. Won't be using them again

The most expensive smallest side order ever. I could almost count the baked beans. I think they use a thimble to measure the portions.

I have used these guys a few times now. There is nothing like a good wimpy, and these guys don't disappoint. Always tastes good and freshly cooked highly recommended by me and the family

Waited over an hour and half for food, things were missing and very cold. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.

Arrived much later than specified originally on just eat, when it arrived it was only luke warm and chips cold so not good for £14 and for a restaurant round the corner. The food itself was nice asides from that.

Food was fine, delivery time stated was 20-30 minutes at time of ordering. They knew it would be an hour as they only had one driver. The manager refuses to change the estimated time, according to the girl who answered when I rang. Every order, for everyone is told 20-30 minutes no matter what. Even the delivery time stated on the request for the review is wrong by 10 minutes to make it look good. No-one can enjoy food that isn't there.

Ordered my meal at 11.40, it didn’t arrive until 13.50, then when I opened it, the restaurant had forgotten to give me chips with my burger meal. Rang the store and told them and they said they would try to get them to me but I would have to wait another 30 minutes at least. Absolute joke, definitely won’t be ordering from here ever again.

While the food might have been delivered ahead of time, it needed to be reheated in the oven as it arrived cold. Worth the money paid? That's debatable. Sorry to have to leave a negative review but the order didn't merit a better one.
