Las Vegas Grill in Southend-on-Sea

In the area and fancied a bit of fish and chips so after a walk along the front I chose to pop in here. Found a table near the back and chose what I was going to have before heading down to place my order. Two members of staff on and the younger of the two served me, firstly apologising as it was table service and she didn’t realise I was ready to order. To be fair to her I’d only been sat less than a minute. She was really happy in her work, not false happy, really pleasant and welcoming. She was also very chatty when she brought over my food. She’s a credit to this business. The food was good, a decent price and I left full and happy. What more do ya need on a cold Tuesday night in November?

Our first visit to this restaurant and probably our last . There must have been a staff shortage on the day of our visit as service and the cleaning of tables was painfully slow.The burgers for the children were fine,the cod was good but the rock eel was greasy, small and not very fresh .The hot drinks were poor including a watery hot chocolate. No enquiry made to see if everything was correct and to our liking. Would not recommend.

Went in and sat down to eat with family, but unfortunately, we were not served as they were too busy chatting away. After 15 minutes, we left and went to another chippy. They only had two tables with customers, so that should not have happened.

Lovely people, very accommodating. Very clean. Food was lovely. Value for money. Will definitely be going again. Thank you

We was greeted with amazing customer service, we had a choice where to sit and was ask to call over when ready... when coming to order the lady was very polite and it was really quick service too, when the food came it looked amazing the presentation was lovely and the first bite to the end was perfection i enjoyed every single minute of it I didn't want it to end amazing portion for the price and it made me wanting more and for the price i would've, the place was lovely the service was amazing the food was delightful I was made very welcome if I didn't live so far I would be in there everyday .... 1 million stars for this amazing place ..

My partner and I chose here due to the signage outside. The service was good. You have to pay before u eat. They accept cash and card. The meal was nice.. I had a large cod, chips, and a mug of tea. The fish was meaty and plentiful. The chips were a little disappointing. My partner had 2 fish cakes, chips, and mushy peas with a mug of tea. She again said nice meal but chips were disappointing. With other alternatives around, the quality of chips needs improvement. However, clean restaurant and pleasant staff.

The fish and chips are freshly done very good Definitely recommend

Had a lunch there today. Do not recommend at all. The place stinks toilet smell. Cutleries extremely dirty. Food quality under average. Toilets better not to mention. I really don’t know how they passed hygiene inspection. I had a beef burger. Definitely frozen cheap quality meat. Had to pay before received the dish and haven’t got the bill at all…. Stay away !

Today, Saturday 27/7/24, We were a group of 9 people, were given table straight away, all ordered Cod and Chips, and all said the chips wasn't the best, yet we all were shocked by the quality of the Cod, another thing to say this shop is very clean, well done 👏, you deserve 5 Stars

I wouldn't recommend this place considering all the other shops on the strip. We sat inside and had to wait a long time to be served overpriced food. The cod and chips £12.75 was a complete bump: a single handful of chips that looked as though they had been scraped off the bottom of the fryer, empty vinegar bottle on the table and 3 sets of cutlery on a table of 4. Another customer ordered burger and chips and was given twice the amount food we were given and was charged less so obviously we left quite confused. No wonder the place was empty compared to all the other restaurants.

The staff mugged us , we bought takeaway but when checked they receipt from the takeaway bag on way back to home they had charged us restaurant prices. Don’t trust their staff. Muggers

We stopped tonight for dinner at this little gem on south end sea front was greeted by a very nice polite young lady blonde hair had her hair up I went for the large cod chips and curry sauce and friend went for the scampi and chips again but came out very quick was hot cooked fresh the mature lady working I think she was the boss and what a nice lady she is all the staff where happy smiling happy the place was very clean and tidy you guys and girls should all be very proud your all doing a fantastic job I went to the loos again these was very clean too there isn’t any thing I can say negative about my customer experience here today 1/6/24 630 pm 100/100 stars so if you find your self in Southend try this little gem of a plaice on the seafront where customer experience matters staff are very nice and polite tell them mr cheeky sent you in Kent 100/100 stars big hugs see you next time I come down Xx glen

Can definitely recommend the fish and chips and curry sauce. Asked a lot of questions but Leanne was incredibly patient and hospitable and even offered to fill a takeaway cup with tap water for me!

Chef needs to get manors if he is a chef I am and won’t go back, walked in nobody behind counter and it was 12:15 no one else waiting to be served restaurant empty, they put chips in when I ordered then served someone that come in 10 mins after, chips were over cooked!!!! Saying there wasn’t enough chips for us so served them first. got money back told you will Wait ten minutes everywhere else, he went for a vape our order was given within two minutes as they know how to Run a restaurant/take away. That’s why ye old Chippy and neptunes have been there for donkeys years and Las Vegas grill keeps changing hands

Had a takeaway, rock eel and chips, sausage in batter and chips, chicken burger and chips, everyone was happy. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. Tried a few different ones over the years but this has been the best on the seafront

There's a massive sign saying above the shop saying 'best fish and chips in Southend' - we had our doubts, but it turned out to be true! 😂 Seating and service is basic but the fish batter is light and crispy, chips cooked to fluffy golden perfection, everything fresh, and really decent sized portions. The next day we tried one of the chippies in the strip of six near the seafront (with higher reviews) but while the fish was good, the chips had a dry texture, more like frozen oven chips. Recommend this place for the real McCoy :)

Visited this clean little chip shop on a Saturday night. Ate in as a little breezy outside and was pleasantly surprised by cleanliness and service was very friendly and food was fresh, hot and tasty. Would definitely go here for fish and chips again .

Overpriced, small portions, 15 quid burnt fish and 15 chips. Order a kids meal, get charged adults. The people waiting the tables have no idea at all. Best avoid.

Ordered 2 small chips, 3 members of staff took 20 mins too make the 2 small potions. There was only one customer infront of us aswell

Wouldn’t recommend, was given only half our order and wasn’t even given cutlery (had to ask if we should eat with our hands) food was cold within a few minutes and weren’t the greatest and small portion/bad priced, the customer service was quite poor and staff seemed very incompetent and nervous and floors were absolutely drenched in the toilets, will never be coming back here!

Brilliant food, Brilliant Staff, Brilliant service and ALWAYS with a smile. Our Favourite Chippie, and THE BEST IN ALL SOUTHEND, we are there every Saturday, would not miss! Go there You won't be Sorry!

Terrible food . Waited ages. Nuggets were the worst I’ve ever tasted ! The amount of chips served were comparable to a child’s potion.

Great value for money and friendly staff. Food was cooked to perfection. Only downside was they had no Worcestershire sauce.

We were on our first outing with our Son and newborn daughter and needed somewhere to eat and feed the baby, nothing was too much trouble. We requested a quiet table so that my partner could breastfeed and were shown to a table near the back which was quite handily behind a curtain. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and the staff overall couldn't have been more helpful. The food was excellent and the service we received made what could have been quite a difficult experience a breeze. We would highly recommend and will return when we are next in Southend!

£3.70 chip roll!!! Roll was edible so 1star chips shocking! Only got 4 that you would class as chips! Coke £1.50 which is normal £5.20 total for a drink and a roll!! Worst chip shop I’ve ever EVER been too!

Absolutely Awful. Initially we sat outside but due to birds above splashing in the previous rain, our drinks & us were getting wet, we moved inside to be informed that we have to pay extra, not too much of an issue however, what a performance with a lot if fart arsing about. Already gaving waited 10mins for 3 plates of chips (Just shy of £14) waiting a further 10mins. When asker server how much longer? She said 1min, 7mins later the 3 plates of chips then dat on the counter for a further 5mins (less than 20m from us). Disgusting service, run like an absolute sham. Will never return & would mist definitely NOT recommend. Shabby service & food mediocre. Toilets dirty no toilet paper & no lock.

Best chips around here. Lovely service from Alison .. so very lovely and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. Chips are not greasy and you can taste the lovely potato. Highly recommend this place.

First time eating here. Place is clean. Staff very friendly. Was served by Allison who was so lovely and friendly. Darcey was also very friendly and helpful. Food delicious, hot and well presented. Had haddock and chips. Will always come back here when in Southend. So very glad we came here.

Best chips in Southend, nice crispy battered fish too. This is the place to come when you fancy good fish and chips and generous portions. Tastes better than any fish and chips I've had in Tower Hamlets and Barking and Dagenham.

Poor food quality, ordered Scampi had to be returned as it was over cooked and almost black. 2nd offering was no better and chef I use the word lightly seemed offended I did not want those either. A pleasant enough man returned to the table to ask if I wanted anything from the menu. Needless to say I declined. Waiting staff very helpful.

When we go to southend and we eat there we always go here (Las Vegas Grill) for food. The food is always of a high standard and the staff are friendly. It's also nice they know us now.

Every time we go Southend we always make our way to Las Vegas Grill cause the Staff are absolutely amazing,prices for Food is reasonable,if you haven't been I'm here I would highly recommend you do so.

I have been to this great restaurant on a number of occasions now, and each time I have always left with a smile on my face, and a full tummy! Popped in at the weekend with my girlfriend and was made to feel 'at home'...

I have been visiting this restaurant for several years, I was always happy and kept coming back. but recently it has changed the fish and chips are not good there anymore, the fish swimming in the oil is uneatable. I was not given a cup to the water, as I noticed that this fish cannot be eaten, I was ignored. shame because it used to be a nice restaurant, it was my last visit to las vegas
