Cool place, good food and nice, friendly staff. We went for some good mexican food and got served really good birria tacos and wings. Worth a vist, good value for money 👍

Had the absolute best time in neon cactus! Zoe was an absolute star! She looked after us after we told her we weren’t local, but she carried on being professional and caring towards regardless of it getting busy at the bar, you can rely on Zoe she’s an absolute star!!

Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Great for a few drinks and some nice food. The chicken tacos are out of this world and to say this place is both a bar and restaurant the food is really worth it. Staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. We waited around 25 minutes for a round of drinks (without realising to be honest) and the staff continuously apologised and even brought a shot to say sorry. It was a busy Saturday evening so we expected a bit of a wait. Highly recommend this place, definitely overlooked.

This was a lovely start to our weekend in Leeds. The food was delicious (I had the chicken birria tacos, my partner had the Guinness burrito) and the cocktails were strong! All food looked to be cooked to order by one guy, and all arrived very hot and fresh! We only wish we had ordered the Queso Fundido too!

Went here thinking it was a restraunt, it’s a bar serving decent enough food, wouldn’t go hear if you wanted to talk, as the music is loud. Good atmosphere though

The staff here have an absolutely disgusting attitude. On numerous occasions a girl came and lifted very clearly full drink off our table. When I went back up to the bar and nicely explained this to the other lady I was told ‘I don’t know what you want me to do about it’. I also witnessed the bar staff being rude to several other customers and conversing between themselves laughing at a customer. There was a man wearing a bow tie who was responsible for a lot of it. Really disappointed with this place as this is not how you want to feel when you go for a few drinks.

An absolutely wonderful place and the prices are great too for a city centre! I will definitely be visiting again

Excellent ambiance a bit expensive

Amazing place. Cocktails were stunning in taste and theatre. Atmosphere was great, service was friendly and attentive but not pretentious or in your face in any way. Will def revisit this gem. Didn’t eat so can’t come t on the grub.

Regularly come to Neon Cactus. Great place to either start and finish a night out after sampling a selection tasty Mexican food.

Been many times, always enjoyable. Bar person was very busy, forgot a pint from the order, as soon as she realised provided us a free shot and the pint. I didn’t mind at all but it was a very nice touch. Best tequila bar in Leeds

do not be mislead by the taco deal they are tasty but u don't get to pick tacos off the menu it's either chicken or mushroom be warned. very tasty but not mega filling

Booked a table of 15 for my birthday and we had such a fun time! We had to pre-order as we were a large table, and the food was incredible - everything came out on time and every order was correct which can sometimes be tricky for bigger parties. The staff were so lovely and accommodating and put up with us as we progressively got more tipsy! I really cannot recommend Neon Cactus enough if you're looking to book a big birthday meal. Thank you guys for making my birthday so special xx

Great Mexican restaurant tucked away in the centre of Leeds. Great good and drinks. Recommended.

Shocking food, only rivalled by the dismal portions and staff too intent on changing the music “Mr DJ barman” to pay any mind to their customers. Protracted wait for food, that was not worth the wait, and certainly NOT worth the price. Avoid.

Food was delicious! The prawn tacos were amazing and we ended up ordering 3 of these because they were so good! We had the mezcal cocktails but we found these a little too sour and lacking syrup as they are normally a little sweeter elsewhere. However we would return!

Booked a table and seated promptly. It was perfect for what we needed. The order was delivered quickly and it was delish! Really tasty. The mango chicken wings were impressive. The cocktail menu was fab and sampled many margaritas! Would return. It you want a fun place to eat, this is it.

One of my favourite bars in Leeds. A great place to relax and unwind very knowledgeable staff who will mix a manner of mocktails for the sober ones out there like me! The food is always top quality and really great timings and portion sizes with various special offers and dishes! Taco 🌮 Tuesdays is my favourite!

Amazing atmosphere and truly a hybrid location. Amazing and attentive staff, really responsive and willing to help. I originally questioned the portion size of the beef shin birria tacos but the taste was genuinely the best Mexican food I think I’ve ever eaten. We left Neon Cactus full and completely satisfied with some of the best Mexican food you’ll find in the UK.

Love tacos??? Then get to Neon Cactus... visited Thurs and done a takeaway... had the shrimp taco.. very well cooked and tasted amazing!... price for the portion was really good. 100% will be back

Nice place, only had snacks and cocktails so can't really say much about the food.

Shockingly poor service. I was in a group with 5 other people and it took 50 minutes between the first person and last person getting their food. We did not even get informed about any delay of food, nor did we get an apology for the ridiculously long wait. The food wasn’t great, with the salsa being extremely watery.

As cool as you could wish for the vibe and taste of Tex-Mex in Leeds.

Easily one of the easiest 5 stars I have ever given. The atmosphere is phenomenal, reasonably priced, the food is absolutely astonishing and the service absolutely next to none. Bought a shirt before we left each too and they made my partners birthday top notch. Get yourselves here.

Very fast table service and the piña colada was great!

Came here july 2023 and had tacos and wings. The beef shin tacos were okay, a little small portion size wise for 8.50 so left wanting there but the wings made up for that as they were "full" wings so good value there (5 full wings for 7 quid) and they tasted great. Staff were great!

Was absolutely amazing! Food and drinks were spot on. They forgot part of our order (we didnt even notice) but fixed it straight away and gave us a complimetary drink which was stunning. Staff were so friendly all night would definitely come again!

Cracking mexican food, with a pretty authentic range of tacos, excellent mexican beer, tequila and mezcal selection, and super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was there as part of a group, and we had a great time. Highly recommended!

Came in on Monday night with my partner for drinks, had the Fresh Prince of Belle Isle omg it was delicious hands down one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Gorgeous atmosphere and lovely staff 😊

First time visiting and the vibes are great, quite small inside but had a nice table by the window. They were really accommodating and made me a tequila sunrise even though it wasn’t on the menu, ordered the nachos and cheese to share with my friends and the steak tacos, so tasty and wish I had ordered more. Will definitely visit again.

We hadn't booked and we managed to grab a table for food at 6:30 on a Saturday evening. Nachos were massive with a huge pile of toppings. The shrimp tacos were delicious. The mushroom quesadilla was tasty too. Would recommend ordering a few dishes to make a meal.

I don’t understand why they have candles lit up at the bar so late in the evening. my hair got caught on fire at the bar, and I apparently wasn’t the only one it happened to either. You would have expected to take away all the candles after the first incident??

Used to be one of my favourites, but the service wasn't great, was quite slow, missed off drinks, then took a good while to rectify the issue. Food was ok. All in all, it was ok.

We did enjoy our tequila-based cocktails. The bar was Mexican themed but not so much the music. We grabbed our ponchos and moved on.

Husband and I came here for an impromptu night out and it was delicious! Definitely get the queso fundido - it was one of the first times in the UK I could get a melted queso dip 😍😍 my husband also really liked the pork burrito. One of the stars for me was the Cherr-iot of Fire Patron cocktail. It was soooo good! 10/10 will definitely be back

My friend ordered a drinks at the bar, we were standing there waiting for 10 - 15min and we asked someone at the bar that we have been served and we are confused where our drinks are, one of the bar staff got confused as well, wanted to do another payment, we explained we did a payment but we don’t know where our drinks are, more confusion went out when the bartender who was doing drinks, found out he left drinks on the other angle of the bar, being all offended that we couldn’t find them, nobody told us anything, we wouldn’t ask about them if someone would inform us where they are, and then everything kicked off, the bartender got so upset about the drinks, apologizing and at the same time telling us it’s our fault and started talking drinks back away from us even when we paid for them, so the guy left the bar, his friend was trying for talk to me but the place so loud I had to shout instead of talking, I was trying to explain the situation so the guy was ignoring me and my bad I’m a short girl and I had no patience left I taped a bar to get his attention and I understand everything but taking away drinks which were payed already is not right, no explanation, just being rude and ignorant is not helping, be more respectful and understand with the situation, that was literally taking a piss of us because we payed and didn’t get anything because somebody had bad day. Sad…

I was confused on receiving my bill for two drinks, to be charged a service charge. You won't let ppl get their own drinks until later on in the evening. I don't understand why we have to pay for a service that we can easily do for ourselves if allowed.

Amazing food, and cocktails. Staff and service were great. Never been before such a great find. Funky and nice atmosphere and great prices. The chicken tacos are to die for and the nachos are amazing. The paloma cocktail is gorgeous.

Came here with my group of 6 on a friday evening. It’s a super quirky bar with a great atmosphere. Unfortunately we found the service to be very slow - staff were quick to attend to take our drink & food orders throughout the night, but we were left waiting a long time to receive every time we ordered. Particularly strange considering we were sat 2 steps away from the bar could see staff stood around chatting instead of pulling the pints we’d ordered. Perhaps a bit too relaxed here. Normally wouldn’t have minded too much but we did have another booking that we were then late for. The food was fine; my partner & I had the steak burrito & garlic Parmesan wings which we both agreed were quite bland. My friends did enjoy the beef nachos though. Experience made slightly better by the fact some items were 50% off in January. But not good enough to sway me to come again or to recommend to a friend.

Had the birria tacos and garlic Parmesan wings, and they were amazing, surprisingly good portions especially given the price and location. Staff were lovely and keen to answer questions or just chat, overall great experience would recommend!

Had the breakfast Margarita, and carrot tacos. Every bit as good as the best I've had when living in Southwest US and far and above most of the rest. Thoroughly recommend.

Went here on a recent trip to Leeds with quite a few friends of mine, great atmosphere and excellent accommodating staff as well, I had the breakfast burrito along with the parmesan chicken wings as well, good choice of drinks as well including there own selection of cocktails. Overall worth a trip if you are looking for somewhere friendly and welcoming along with good food.

Popped into the cactus for an off the cuff early dinner food was very tasty and the cocktails were definitely original a cool trendy vibe even for us oldies ! Tacos are delicious but a special recommendation for the churros good for a very chilly November evening

Amazing food, cant fault this place

Went there on a Sunday evening, it’s quite empty. The decorations and atmosphere is nice and friendly. We just had food there. Ordered soya nachos, which is quite good. Broccoli taco is surprisingly tasty :) vegetarian quesadilla is good, but it’s a bit too burn. Price is friendly.

This place is great! Very cool yet cozy atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and welcoming - we went for taco Tuesday and the food and drinks were really really good and a great deal! Would definitely recommend!

Such a cool place to eat and drink

Recently booked the Margarita Room of Neon Cactus as part of a 30th birthday celebration. From initial enquiry, through to the night itself, myself and guests received a warm and friendly reception from all staff, who took great care of us. Bar visits and questions in the lead up to the event were also answered and accommodated with ease, making the whole process very stress free. Having been treated appallingly by another bar in Leeds, the team at Neon were a breath of fresh air to liaise with, and a complete contrast in bar/event management. A huge thank you to Lucy, Laura and team for their help in creating a night to remember, for all the right reasons!

Went for tacos and beers on an impromptu visit. The shrimp tacos were immense, best I've ever had. Highly recommend. Cool vibe in the bar too

Intersting cocktails and good food!

I had absolutely terrible service while dining here with a group of friends today. We ordered house margaritas after the waiter was rude to our friend (not sure quite why?) and the waiter was so busy glaring at her that he forgot one of our drink orders. (ALSO 8 GBP for a house margarita and it was in a cocktail glass and half full). We also ordered the birria with our tacos and it was not true birria. It was just chicken soup. For the birria chicken tacos- they were soggy and not melted together well. Also literally no flavor. 1/10 service and quality.

No clue who the staff in this place think they are, hurtle yourself back down to earth you work in what’s possibly the tackiest bar on Call lane. And half of them look in need of their annual shower. Don’t bother with this place lol

Drinks are good, nachos and tacos also good. The burrito was small and expensive for what you got. The toilets are absolutely *disgusting* and pretty much all are out of order every time I go! Seriously, they stink.. Please sort it out!

Lovely venue and cocktails for Pride!

My visit to this venue was very up and down. Starting with the good points, the food was very tasty. My partner and I loved the chicken tacos and the nachos with queso dip. However, it is worth noting that they had barely anything available on the menu at the time. There was no pork or beef at all and so this meant that we had a very limited choice. Nevertheless, what was served tasted good. The cocktail list has lots of fun options to try and something to suit everyone. I had the Miami Vice, which could get you seriously boozy! Now for the not so good points. The service was not very attentive, there were so many staff doing nothing it seemed and were ask laughing and joking around that it made us feel a bit unwelcome. We could also hear them swearing, whilst joking which was very unprofessional. The waitress was polite but not really more than expected from a waitress. The toilets were also not clean at all! We were visiting the area and so unlikely to revisit. However, I am unsure if I would return even if I was local, given the choices in Leeds.

Really really good food!! And friendly attentive staff. We didn’t go for cocktails/ fancier drinks but a lot of people around us seemed to be enjoying them. The music was a little bit loud but that’s part of the vibe. I got the Cajun shrimp tacos and shared the beef nachos with my partner. I’m usually terrible when it comes to spice but both were so good, even with the jalapeños. Definitely would recommend.

Vidal (the security) was so lovely and welcoming - offered us nice places to eat and we had to come back to his bar! Wish he could come out out drinking with us lol - so friendly ! Time to try out the bar lol...

Tacos were nasty, they didn’t have any flavour, any seasoning the cheese was black literally burnt. The tacos were oily I took one bite and spat it out. If you grew up in household were the meat is washed, seasoned and marinated before cooking please don’t waste your time in this place

food and drinks were nice, however the service was horrific and particularly female bar staff were so so rude, took our half full drinks off our table 3 times in the night, then accused us of saying it didn’t happen, and it’s not happened to anyone else. we were made to feel so stupid and disappointed, as they made us feel awkward, we even told them to check the CCTV then and she just gave us an odd look, one of the bar staff kept giving us dirty looks aswell, which just ruined the experience, i’ve never had a problem before and the staff has always been great so i’m assuming it’s because it’s new staff.

Me and my friend came here for an evening meal. My friend is vegan and I eat meat. We were both starving. The waitress was really lovely but seemed to maybe not have been trained too well. She seemed quite unfamiliar with the menu and...

Lovely food and great atmosphere.

The food was quite good. Very slow and poor service on the night we attended unfortunately. We waited over an hour for food and the waiting staff seemed oblivious to what was going on. The manager wiped our bill due to the disappointing experience, which was appreciated.

I am taking the time to write this review as I feel severely disappointed and mistreated after my visit here last night. I was waiting for over an hour for the food whilst my friends had finished their starters and mains, when the food finally arrived it was dreadful; the ‘burrito’ was soggy and flavourless and the wings were almost inedible. After leaving half of what was a downright disgraceful excuse for a burrito, the waiter came to collect it and referred to me as a ‘slacker’. I was shocked at the deplorable service and feel I was robbed of almost £20! I will warn whoever I can not to visit this hostile place.

food was ok, but service was really poor. Food came out at different times, last main came out an hour after the first one. They did take a lot off our bill, but wouldn’t recommend if you want a nice meal.

The tacos and churros are lovely, highly recommend the beef tacos. Burrito is bland so try and avoid. Customer service wasn’t great, they got our order wrong a couple of times and completely forgot to give us our drinks regardless of how many times we asked for them!

Brilliant customer service off some. Others too much talking whilst we waited for cocktails and did not appreciate being asked where our drinks were. Was given an over spiced bloody Mary for that reason I suspect. Shame the the place down
