I have just discovered this place after trying to find the best middle eastern food in the area. As a Palestinian I'm quite homesick and miss the taste of the Levant. Unexpectedly, only this place brought me back home with exceptional taste, food quality and portion size. It's not as expensive as anywhere else even though it tastes so much better! I don't know how I haven't been here before it's amazing! Looking forward to returning soon. Thank you so much for your delicious food and hospitality! Jazakum Allahu Khair

The best food in Edinburgh. I'm extremely fussy when it comes to middle eastern food and have tried every restaurant from Sofia's to Beirut in Edinburgh yet the food quality (even though cheaper and doesn't have the unnecessarily fancy look of the others) is hands down the best I've ever had. It's authentic Syrian food, the most delicious mezze and meat I have had, and the most reasonable price. I have finally found the one!

Excellent food and lovely service. Guy behind the counter brought us free tea with our food and a plate of chips for our friend who hadn't ordered anything, which was really nice. Would definitely recommend

This is my favourite local eatery. I've had occasional takeaway but I like to sit-in, especially for delicate dishes whose presentation perhaps doesn't travel well e.g. Muhammara. Whether you're in the mood for something light, such as 'small plates' and salads or something more substantial such as Shawarma Meal, you'll find something nice. The reception is always very warm and friendly and you never feel rushed. If you're a music fan, be sure to have Shazam on your phone to help identify some of the sounds played. If you're travelling any distance from Leith Walk you'll find it right at the Balfour Street tram stop or close to the Balfour Street bus stop.

Very tasty, well seasoned and fresh. Made to order when I requested a mixed shawarma plate. Fattoush is to die for! Falafel shawarma comes with a beautiful hummus. Absolutely recommend this place, will return time and time again.

Very affordable and delicious food! The handmade wraps are worth going back for, and they're open late so perfect for after you've been out for a few drinks.

Well enjoyed!! randomly went in and got what I paid for , well fed and exquisite food the chicken shawarma is the best Iv had in Edinburgh . Had the shawarma on the hummus which was 10/10. Koftes fresh not frozen . Shish tawook banging .nice rice , lovely bread and service was even better very attentive .

They have a downstairs area as well and the food is one of the best middle-eastern cuisine in edinburgh. would recommend their broasted chicken and arabic shawarma meal 🌷

Not sure if there is other places with same cuisine in Edinburgh, but this place has amazing food, you taste the real Arabic style there 👌

Incredibly tasty Middle Eastern food! Their lamb shawarma is generously portioned with warm and succulent lamb meat and delicious Syrian chips. Their fried chicken is also excellent, with a flavourful crispy batter and with juicy chicken on the inside. Highly recommend this place, absolutely bang for your buck

AWESOME SHAWARMA. Perhaps my favourite in all of Edinburgh. The chicken or lamp shawarma plate is excellent with vegetables and incredible meat with lovely presentation and really great garlic sauce. Highly recommend. All halal of course.

One of the best Shawarmas I’ve had in years! We had Shawarma, Shish Tawook and Fatoush, all surpassed our expectations, fresh, delicious with great quality ingredients. 100% recommended!

We came across this place by chance, looking for something with an open kitchen. We were surprised by the amount of food and the price, everything was very good.

The restaurant is quite and nicely decorated. The Lamb Shawarma is too too much oily and the salad was cutting not fresh. So it is 👎 for us. The price is not worth for our orders. Hope to improve the quality of food. Never ever try it again oily and non-fresh meat and salad.

Best place in Leith. Open late, staff are lovely, portions are huge and the price is very good. Nice atmosphere too, very relaxed. Falafel wrap meal is my faviourite, with pomegranate sauce. Mmmhmmm

We came here for an easy lunch and had the best meal we’ve had in ages. The shawarma was delicious and a bargain as well, my partner loved his shawarma plate. we left with full, happy bellies.

For the first time I dealt with them, I ordered Arabic chicken Shawarma, which was a cut box containing a salad, spiced sweet-tasting fried potatoes, three sauces (garlic, chili, and a store-specific sauce) and a shawarma sandwich in saj (unleavened) bread, cut into four parts, but the quantity was sufficient, may God bless the Lord. To be honest, I hesitated before ordering from them because I feared the chicken was not cooked or had a bad taste, but the taste was very nice, God bless the Most Merciful. The chicken was spicy and its salt was balanced, and I did not encounter any immature or browned pieces. Also, the sauces tasted delicious, God willing, God bless the Most Merciful. My order was through one of the delivery applications. I do not know about the atmosphere and service inside the store. May God bless them and good luck to them. The order was repeated more than once within a year, and as a matter of honesty in conveying the experience, the taste is still good and the chicken is even and impressive, but the quality has decreased somewhat.

The food is delicious. We ordered kebab with rice and it was delicious The shish tawak with rice was the most delicious, as was the shawarma plate And the service is good.. The place is small. There are quiet and more private seating areas. The owner of the restaurant is a halal and tasteful son. May God grant them success and bless them.. I will visit him again

Food tasty and prices are affordable. I had a good experience here. The owner is friendly and welcoming. He offered me free coffee when he knew I was visiting from Canada.

We ordered 2 takeaway boxes. In one: 1/2 chicken, fries and vegetables. The second box contains a rollo with mixed meat, fries and vegetables. Sauces: spicy fed, delicious garlic and coleslaw (amazing). The chicken was very well baked, aromatic, you could feel the herbs and the refreshing lemon on the browned skin. The rollo consisted of lamb and chicken. A little bit of meat, but very good. We will definitely repeat. The only minus is the temperature of the food. The fries, although crispy, were cold.

My husband and I just strolled in. Wow splendidly tasty and fresh food. Staff very polite and smiling. Will go again. Its a gem on Leithwalk. Super job guys. I ordered chicken shwarma platter (to die for) and husband ordered falafel wrap. He enjoyed his food too. Its one of the best Syrian food places in Edinburgh. Fresh food and very reasonable prices.

Just had our first NeighbourWood - don’t get a kebab from anywhere else. It’s amazing. Reasonably priced, supremely tasty food! The pickles are zingy, chicken moist and juicy and the lamb was banging. 100/10!

The waiting time was horrible like they only considering the online orders and letting us wait more than one hour. Its really annoying and they are not even considering us as a customer.

I really liked this restaurant because of multiple reasons, staff are very friendly and welcoming, prices are reasonable, location is good, and more importantly food was absolutely delicious and very good size too.

We visited Neighbourwood on a Sunday evening as a big family and were given a suitable table to sit at in their comfortable seating area downstairs, we ordered the chicken broasted, arabic chicken shawarma meal, chicken shish tawook and grilled chicken wings along with sides of fattoush, tabbouleh and mutabbal which were ALL delicious and tasted authentic. The atmosphere is very family friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for the food which arrived piping hot and can clearly see that it was all fresh. I highly recommend eating at this place if you happen to be in Edinburgh, you'll truly get to experience a taste of tasty Syrian fast food.

Incredibly delicious food and very kind and welcoming staff. We had Arabic chicken shwarma with Syrian chips and were extremely delighted with our choice... the wraps were so full of flavour and the chips were a revelation. Staff were genuine and helpful and there was a lovely family atmosphere. We will be going back again.

Very hospitable and welcoming staff. Their chicken and lamb shawarma is top notch and authentic from Syria. I had the Arabic Chicken Shawarma Meal and it was a very large portion, delicious with two sauces and a big salad! I highly recommend this place if you are ever in Edinburgh.

One of the best places for grilled meats in Edinburgh. Super nice guys, massive portions and vegan falafel and hummus were yummy as well! And it will not cost you an arm and a leg! Will definitely be back!

Ate here last night. Friendly service. The Fattoush was excellent and the chicken wrap was also good. Looking forward to when the muhumarra is on, as it was finished when we went. Returned a few days later and the muhumarra was on and excellent. Great Baba ganoush and excellent crispy fried chicken. Try not to overorder as the food is fantastic and the portions are generous.

The food tasted good, but my wife got sick the whole night after eating there.

I tried the shawarma wraps, shawarma platters, falafel, and dips (hommos, etc). Everything I tried was delicious, but I preferred the platters over the wraps. Their rice was good, too. Their pickles, oh my God, juicy & fresh. Everything, literally, and they are reasonably priced, too. We booked a table & ordered the day before, so our food was served in no time.

Last night I ordered the neighbourwood shawarma and it came without the fries and without the coleslaw. so I ended up paying 15 pounds for a bowl of rice with meat that doesn't even leave you full.
