Neighbours Food Bar in Lancaster

We have just got fish and chip from here and the fish is absolutely disgusting. It's like a piece of rubber. It's definitely not fresh fish and the chips are warmed up . Probably from yesterday .never again

Normally, get plain chow mein without vegetables. Love their noodles.

Chicken balls overcooked. Salt and pepper chips and chicken inedible, looked like they’d been precooked then cooked again with the flavouring added. Fried rice, chips, sauces all ok. More went in the bin than we ate.

A stones throw away from the Caravan parks on Regents road. Can't fault, very quick from walking in to order and collecting.

Use Neighbours regular...unfortunately they don't deliver into Lancaster so I go there rather than use anywhere in Lancaster...A+++

Absolutely dreadful customer service !!!! Forgot to send some of our order we phoned to ask for the rest of our order to be sent. There was a lot of shouting in the background and when it was delivered to us we were verbally abused by the driver shouting in the street to us !!! Absolutely dreadful never again will we use this Chinese they should be ashamed of themselves!!

On holiday from across the country. This is the tastiest Chinese takeaway we've ever had. Food is delicious and fairly priced. Great value. Placed a big order and food was ready very quickly. Highly recommended.

Was always my Chinese of choice before one opened much nearer me. Sweet n sour nicer than my local (which is REALLY good!) Spare ribs had much more meat on them and were very tasty. But the beef satay and the Thai green curry were very salty ☹️. Still enjoyed but wish they'd put much, MUCH less salt in them. Customers can always add more if needed!!

Me and my partner went here ordered food I asked for fish and chips I got home. There was no fish only chips so my partner went back. The owner was very rude and screamed at him asking for me to come down so I proceeded to walk back down to the Chinese only to be screamed at made fun of what I was wearing because I was in pyjamas only for them to admit they missed it off

Walked in and ordered food with my partner which we have done so on many occasions, had to say to the lady 7 TIMES we wanted cod & chips on the order. Received the order after a 25 min wait. Got home to find out there was no cod handed to us. I had a walk back to the Chinese to speak to them and get the cod to just be shouted at, screamed at that the cod was there and that I was lying, the man even screaming at his own staff. After a 10 minute argument they told me to go back and get my partner! So off I went after being followed and watched walking down the street. My partner Had gotten changed into pj's and had to walk back to the Chinese in pj's. Upon arrival the man screamed at the top of his lungs (in Chinese) then stared my partner up and down and screamed again, to which the lady instantly apologised to us which clearly means he was saying some horrible stuff. So after another 5 minute argument with this man walking about full of rage screaming his nut off they decided that they hadn't put the cod on the receipt. The lady that spoke little English was apologetic but the man is vile and disgusting. This place should be closed. The owner has no manners, no care for anyone or anything. Stick to friendly, kind businesses. Not this absolute shambles of a Chinese.

I have always liked this place. However ordered duck with pancakes and the duck was tiny and unshredded by the time I had shredded it, it had gone cold and only filled 4 of the pancakes.

The chow mein is good but when it comes to the chicken curry, it's full of peas and mushrooms. If I wanted peas and mushrooms I would have asked for them and every other Chinese takeaway I've got food from doesn't have any peas in a curry. Peas are normally added in fish and chips but doesn't belong in a Chinese curry. The beef and chicken in the blackbean sauce is far too salty as well but the vegetables are really nice.

Frozen foods!Be careful! By end of hours the boss is very rude,! Not recommended at all!

We ordered on the 10/12/2022 and as I’m a vegetarian I ordered the sweet and sour mixed vegetables and I found pieces of meat which made me sick. The first woman I spoke to was lovely and handled my complaint well. The second woman was very rude to me and hung up the phone. Then 10 mins later the delivery man delivered my new sweet and sour mixed vegetable and he was very passive aggressive. Safe to say I will be ordering from here again.

Always excellent service when ordering from here. From taking your order through to delivery, they're always happy and greet you with a smile . The menu is great with loads to choose from and , it's always cooked fresh. Delivery is quick , taking around 20 to 25mins on average and your food is always piping hot . Neighbours is my main go to for a takeaway , you will be hard pressed to find better .

By miles the best Chinese takeaway in Morecambe, if not beyond. We have ordered from them regularly for a few years now, the food is consistently BANGING, the delivery time is always really reasonable, the service is quick in shop too. Salt & pepper selection is second to none, the crispy chilli beef, sweet and sour chicken, duck in plum sauce, house specials, everything I have ever ordered from there was cooked to perfection👌 they always throw in some freebies too.

Staff polite, never had food poisoning usually pretty quick with delivery's! Order from here probably twice a month! Defiantly the best special curry Prawn toast & plain chow mein in morecambe! Salt and pepper chicken pretty nice to!..

Update 03/12/2021 - ordered again with friends round. Food was disgusting!! Everyone has been ill from it. Again £50+ order and we're all ill. Food was alright, I suppose - portions are very small for price. Service alright. Delivery APPALLING!! Firstly he didn't bring full order, rang got this corrected. Main reason for bad review: Once the driver had returned, he had left gate open which meant our bulldog managed to escape through open gate, which has a warning side fitted, to warn you off dogs roaming free in garden. When we have high fencing around the full garden and two gates that get bolted, after walking through the closed gate, you would close it when you're leaving. I rang the takeaway after we found our puppy, I was very angered at this. Nothing was said, we just got an apology. Sorry but this is not good enough. The first lady we spoke to sounded like she was going to get it sorted and speak to driver regarding this, but then manager came on phone and all we got told was "sorry about that". After spending over £55 with them, you'd expect the least they can do is close the gate behind them... I know we should have checked but as I left the house our dog ran straight past and out. No excuse is good enough, if a gate is closed when you get there you close it when you leave.

I have always been extremely satisfied with the quality and price of the food from Neighbours Food Bar, our local Chinese takeaway. They always give you one additional item and sometimes two. They are polite and efficient. The only problem is placing your order as you need to speak loud and clear. They should invest in a better microphone and speaker at the front desk.

Good food slightly salty though

Highly recommended by a friend and he wasn't wrong, beautiful food and the beef and mushroom curry and rice is probably the best around. Great value too.

Terrible service!!!the owner shouts at customers and does not give refunds for poorly made food! My brother ordered ribs from there and there was no meat on the bone AND it was chewy In my opinion do not order from here as the chances of good food is 2 in 10

Absoulty shocking customer service ! They brought chow main instead of special fried rice my partner rang up and they said they would swap it then the woman rang back and said they wouldn't swap it cos she put the order in wrong well how's that our fault that she got it wrong rang back again and they just hung up the phone on us defo wont be returning again !

Ordered first time, good portions of food. It alright taste of the food pork is a little hard but sauce is nice. Good value. The delivery was on time very quick. The delivery man was a little rude cause I wanted to pay card and not with cash and he got annoyed waiting to ring back at the Chinese restaurant so I could pay by card. and then I did pay on card but the delivery person was rude I would order there’s again but I won’t get it delivered I pick it up

After reading some comments I'll share mine, the circumstances we are in are hard enough without people being picky.. Anyway saw this place online, ordered was a lovely girl i spoke too, food came at a good time frame, 2 nice guys delivered The food was absolutely superb 5* from us, will order again, soup was amazing, spring rolls, beef in oyster sauce, free chicken wings, and some fortune cookies, nice touch just lovely Thanks again, will definitely recommend

Absolutely disgusting customer service. They brought the wrong food then argued it, then put the phone down. Whats worse is i have used it loads, I order the same thing everytime and I know that the dish they sent is not what normally comes.They have just lost custom because I will not go back and my family will be told not to use them. Who knows what that is in the picture because even the person that cooked it does know. Prawn toast rock hard aswell.....disgusting place 🤢🤮

The best chicken chow meniu which i ever had!

Just ordered a meal and specified several times I am allergic to shellfish and NOT too send me seafood spring rolls and they sent me seafood spring rolls, this has happened before but not again. Too ignore customer allergies is lethal! I wish anyone ordering from here doesn’t get ill from employees ignorance 😡

Took family over to this takeaway because normally get decent food there after driving back to Lancaster found half of our order missing and after a couple of hours I started to get the runs i will never eat there again and I'm hoping everyone else in my house is ok in the morning because we both work now I've got to stay off work for a couple of days not happy .

Average food, stopped going because a member of staff shouted at me over the counter regarding another customers order.

Chips, fish and peas: possibly the worst I've ever tasted. Obviously out of a freezer and not fresh.

I order every week which it is normally lovely but last night I ordered and they said it would be 20 minutes for me collecting. I turned up half hour later and my ordered hadn’t even been processed. They said I could wait but I said no and there was no apology or any discount for waiting. 50 minutes later I had a phone call of the delivery driver to say he was at my house when I said I wanted to collect as I wasn’t home. Not a happy regular customer so I won’t be returning.

I come on holiday twice a year to morcambe and I visit neighbours food bar as it's the best Chinese takeaway in the whole of Morecambe and they do the best salt n chilli munchie box ever and the staff are very friendly and I look forward to my visit in July again as I will be craving there munchie box until then ❤️ it and highly recommend this Chinese takeaway 😉

Had chicken in lemon, really enjoyed it, got the sauce seperate though, Hubby had fish and chips, fish wasn't very good he said.

As far as Chinese takeaways go, neighbours is the best I've had and I've been to all the others in the area. I usually order special fried rice and special with chilli and garlic( lovely sweet chilli and garlic sauce ). I sometimes get the special with ginger and spring onions, and I occasionally get the barbecue spare ribs. Compared to all the other takeaways this is the most authentic Chinese take away food and I won't go anywhere else now. I've lived all over the country and I struggled to find a decent Chinese takeaway in Morecambe but I've finally found what I was looking for.

I did give this takeaway a glowing 5 star review the first time I ordered here, thus taking me to place more orders with this Chinese and over the past few months I have ordered a few times so would like to say fairly regular customer. Last week me and my boyfriend ordered food but unlike usual it arrived and 2 of the meals were wrong, they had sent items like chicken just in a bag that was plain and bland not salt and pepper as ordered. I tried calling back but late at night and line busy. I went into the shop the evening after to be what can only be described as hurled abuse by the owner of the business because I hadn't bought the food back with me or done this the evening before. As I explained people aren't going to head out at night to return food especially after a glass of wine and when you order you expect the dishes to be right. The ones we did get were salty and cold. I didn't ask for the full amount back just the 2 meals they botched up and iv never known such bad customer service or seen a shop owner get so angry and start screaming in Chinese at me as he didn't speak English. He sent his son over to translate who apologised for his dad's attitude but I ended up leaving with no apology or token of gesture for being what I consider a previous good customer. So 1 star to neighbours for the most rude staff iv embraced and wouldn't give this business another one of my pennies. Also shocking food and cold and incapable of taking orders correctly.!
