The food was tasteless nothing like s Indian food. No proper spices. Even a simple staple Luke sambar was inedible.

Was in Rotherham watching wrexham take three points ! Stayed overnight after the match and as usual on away days we went for an Indian. First of all the good points: Staff friendly and nice surroundings, decent cobra on draught. Popodums really fresh and nice chutney trays. Veg rice with our curries very good and plentiful. Keema Nan really good. Now the really bad points: Wife had butter chicken, I asked for chicken tikka madras. Sauces were really poor for an Indian restaurant, tasted like they were out of a jar, never experienced that at an Indian restaurant before anywhere !! Chicken was very uniform in shape looked like frozen, my chicken tikka was the same and definitely not tikka. We were so disappointed with the meal. Perhaps the more speciality dishes is there thing but there is no need these days for an Indian restaurant to serve such poor standard food.

Don't think their takeaway service is best...not worth for the money you spend as food quality and quantity is not good as what you get when you Dine in.. second time had takeaway and same bad experience! But Dine in experience has always been good and recommended...

Had a worst experience today in store. We a group of 6 went had our food. Food was fine but the manager treated us the worst way. The customer service was terrible. His attitude towards the customers was very rude. I am not visiting again and not referring anyone to the store. #notsattisfied

Disappointing Experience!!! We visited this restaurant with high expectations, eager to try something new, but unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. While the food was okay, the service was shockingly bad. One of our orders arrived very late, and when we inquired about it, the manager's attitude was extremely rude and unprofessional. We ended up having a very uncomfortable conversation with him. This completely ruined what was supposed to be a nice evening out. I would not recommend this place based on the poor service and unwelcoming atmosphere.

Excellent! Food really, really tasty. Best dosa's I've had in a long time. Three people for dinner and everyone of us loved the selection of food chosen. Plates were all empty! Nice classical soft music to allow conversation - not too loud. Chai and homemade warm carrot halwa at the end was a pure delight. I only wish we lived closer to eat here more often (staying in the area to visit friends). Good value for money too.

Reeeally good. Has a masala dosa and it was 😘👌🏽 delicious. And filling. And only 8 quid. Massive party on another table but the staff handled it well and didn’t keep us waiting too long. Check it out - you won’t be disappointed!

Although initially we were the first customers in the restaurant the greeting was very polite. We were shown to a comfortable table. The service was good and the waiters were not intrusive but were there when you wanted them. The food was really good. We started with the Onion Bhaji that were crisp and not greasy and just the right amount of spice. We then moved onto the main course. We had the Butter Chicken and the Appella Fish Curry. Again the food was very tasty with the right amount of spice. The Pilau rice was again just right with an aldente texture. We had accompaniments of Chapati. They were lovely and soft and obviously freshly made. All this at a reasonable price. A great meal was had by both of us. Definitely worth a visit if coming to Rotherham.

Known not only for their Kerala food which takes you down the tasty path , their Garlic naan, Goni Manchurian , paneer tikka are some of the best in the area. When it comes to hospitality they are the sweetest people who always serve you with a smile. Ambience is lovely quiet and serene. Had chicken Biryani, and was amazed by the taste. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the gravy was tastier than expected. Also had super soft naan bread and beef curry. Would recommend for authentic Kerala food for anyone missing.

The lamb main course they suggested was potentially the tastiest curry I've ever eaten. I eat almost daily! Will be back soon. Hopefully it will be the same

Been going to Neelagiree for a good few years now. Always excellent food , service and a lovely welcome by the owners. Everyone we take there really enjoys the experience 👏

The ambience is very nice. The service is attentive and the food itself is really tasty. Unfortunately, everything just seems to taste the same. A mild butter chicken tasted pretty much the same as a medium hot tikka masala...you'd expect to taste a difference.

We used to have a good food experience. But this time just the starters were good enough. Rest all the indian food were really poor. We had beef curry and fish curry which was absolutely disappointing. We also had chiken biriyani which was the worse biriyani we had in last 2 years. Being a fan of indian food this was really bad experience.

Good Indian food with nice ambience. One of the best restaurants in Rotherham to find quality food. I would recommend the starters both vef and non-veg they are always worth mentioning. From the mains, hyderabadi biryani is good, but it feels like on and off. Some days, it is good, and other days it tastes very bland. Dosa is also another one worth mentioning. There is no proper parking nearby as it is very near to city center.

Wonderful. I had the dosa accompanied with tomato chutney, coconut chutney and sambar which were all delicious. On the recommendation of the gentleman serving me, I also had a kurumulaku curry which had to be one of the best dishes I have tasted in quite a long time. The service was brilliant and I will look forward to the next time I get to visit.

Not so pretty outside but amazing inside. Staff can't do enough for you so lovely and polite. Food is out of this world. Extremely well presented and enough to fill you. Can't praise enough. Toilets are downstairs but have disabled access toilet. Lovely n clean place. Nice n bright n colourful. They will pack your food for takeaway if you can't eat it all.

One of the best kerala restaurant in UK with authentic kerala recipes. Beef roast was too good and all other recipes were excellent. Price was also affordable as compared to others restaurants with this much of ambience and service.

Neelagiree restaurant very warm welcome to start our meal lovely setting we started with poppadoms and pickle tray which was the start to a fantastic meal my husband had the tandoori mixed grill which he thoroughly enjoyed myself had the chicken tandoori supreme which was mouth watering big portions from start to finish a lovely experience certainly will be coming back great staff 👌👌

Great food, service and ambience at a single place. Decent street parking and the place isn’t crowded for a weekend lunch. We couldn’t figure out what to eat so tried the recommendation from them and were not disappointed. Loved the Biryani, parotta, poori, lamb curry. Coming back soon.

Absolutely brilliant food. I can not emphasise enough that if you want to go out for an Indian meal, this is definitely the place to go. The food was fresh and well prepared. The staff were friendly and provided a great service, and the atmosphere was calm, enjoyable, with the perfect level and tone of background music to enjoy the ambience whilst also able to hold a conversation with your companions. Great place, I’d certainly recommend you at least try it once; it’s certainly the best Indian food I’ve tasted within Rotherham.

I have tried each and every Indian restaurants in sheffield and Rotherham . Trust me i felt Neelagiri is the best among all of them. My favourites are Tandoori chicken, Gopi manchorian, Biriyani etc.

We recently been here for my husband's 40th birthday. Staff were very professional, kind, smiling, down to earth and looked after customers wholeheartedly. A big shout out to the Manager Ajit who made our whole dining experience wonderful. He offered us to buy a cake for my husband and to add more joy into our celebration. As we were already full we had to say no to his kind gesture. Abita was highly professional, patient in serving excellent mouth watering delicacies and then another lovely staff was Maria who served us masala chai. 'Athiti Devo Bhava' is a perfect saying to this place. Restaurant is so hygenic, food quality, authenticity, taste and presentation are 10/10.Well done to Chef too! Off road parking is easy too. Highly recommended 👍 We had gobi manchurian, papadam, butter naan, chapatis, bindi fry, palak paneer and masala chai.Super delicious! Thank you ❤️

My friend and i havent been to the neelagiree for a good couple of years,still the most delicious,clean,beautiful south indian restaurant ever. The food is served on nice hot plates beautiful surroundings and friendly waiting staff,well cooked perfectly spiced indian cuisine,authentic great quality dishes. Lots of different choices of south indian fayre.

Been to this place many times. Love the south Indian food especially the dosas. Chutneys and Sambar are very tasty. The service is very good. Try the chicken 65, best we have had in the UK. We come all the way from Derby for the food.

Wonderful food. Real South Indian Cuisine. Enjoyed the Uthappam and Chana masala. And chicken lollipops. Plenty of veg and non-veg options to choose from. Excellent polite service. Ambience very nice with pleasant instrumental music. Will be going there again soon

Great food!!! I have ordered chicken lollipops and prawns fry as starters, and they were yum!! Then came the main course, which included garlic naan, butter chicken, porotta, and beef ularth. Oh my God!! It was heavenly!! Especially the garlic naan and Kerala porotta reminded me of my place and felt nostalgic. All in all, it was a great experience, and I will recommend it to everyone. Great curry the first time we went, but second time, we booked on line and it was closed when we got there. A bit disappointing given we'd travelled to enjoy the good quality food from our previous visit.

Visited today with family. Selected Neelagiree after reading many good reviews, however, I was still completely blown away by the amazing taste, quality of food, and quantity. One bite of the 'houseboat beef fry' and I was transported directly back to the backwaters of Kerala. Bravo to the Chef! Kerala style chicken biriyani was also very flavourful, quantity was more than sufficient, and again, reminded me of authentic Kerala taste. Chicken lollipop and Chicken 65 were more or less similar in taste, yet, they are ready to customise to our liking based on how hot we want the dish to be. The subtle music in the background was very calming (good choice of soft music), service was quick, restaurant manager and staff were very courteous as well. We visited around 8:30pm, and hence, were very lucky to find parking close by, however, there are plenty of paid parking lots closeby, which should be able to support during peak crowd hours. All in all, this was the best Indian Restaurant that I have been to so far in the UK. Will be visiting again, 100%. Thank you for the amazing food experience, @Neelagiree Restaurant!

Came here to celebrate my birthday with my wife, she’s been here before and booked it for me as my first time. I’m a massive fan of Indian food and Neelagiree does not disappoint. Fantastic food and brilliant service. I recommend Chicken 65 and Masala Dosa to get things started, and I had Chettinad Chicken with Pilau Rice and a gorgeous garlic naan, all washed down with an ice cold, crisp few pints of Cobra. South Indian Keralan food at its best! Service was outstanding, thank you as always 👍🏻

Went last night staff friendly. Lovely starter however really disappointed with the main course ordered a king prawn dish and the prawns were the cheep frozen ones. Ordered garlic Nan and definitely did not taste garlic. Won't be going back.

Proper indian taste @ good price

A group of 17 of us came for a work night out. We ordered our meals ahead as the restaurant requested, As you can imagine there was alot of food ordered between the group of us, the staff remained calm and patient throughout our visit. The food was all served fresh, hot and the portion sizes were really generous. All the staff were very welcoming and dispite been a rowdy bunch they didnt stop smiling and joined in a good laugh with us. The vene is super tidy and clean with lovely decor that has a lovely warm feel to it. Food was super tasty and you can even take what you cant eat away with you. Thank you for having us, your staff cannot do enough for your customers and we all enjoyed the visit.

First time I had been. Food fantastic carnt fault it. I'm just sorry that I was in a hurry to leave to get to the Theatre and forget to leave a tip. I will return and make sure the tip is paid. Fantastic staff

Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was very tasty and worth the value. Good portions too. Atmosphere was pleasant. The restaurant is well kept and tidy. The only negative being that it was a bit too cold inside.
