Nee How in Gedling

This is our favourite Chinese take away. The food has always been hot and cooked through. We have never had a bad meal from here and we have been visiting for the last few years. The staff have always been friendly too.

Food cold! Thai green curry? Really disgusting! Won’t be using again!

Sorry but I would never use this establishment again. We have just collected a take away which was liuke warm. It also completely lacked in flavour and the bbq sauce was nothing but salt!!. I would encourage you to look elsewhere.

Always great food and quick service

First visit! Pretty poor really - the spare ribs give it away, they must be the cheapest they can buy - dry, tough, inedible really. The shredded beef in chille sauce was very sweet, couldn't see evidence of any beef at all. Chicken skewers were dry.... I really can't see how places like this get away with it these days, we certainly won't be returning.

Should have read the reviews before ordering the green thai curry. It definitely didnt taste like a green thai curry. I’ve given 3 stars to match the very mediocre standard of the food.

Just ordered our take away from here as I was getting bored of eating from the same place and wow the food was absolutely amazing and we will be definitely eating from here again Can highly recommend this place

Staff lovely. Food very tasty with excellent portion sizes. Only criticism is that I think they should not chop up spare ribs. Leave them whole, apart from that. We'll done Nee How.

It's been a few years since I last visited, but still as friendly and quick as ever, and front of house is spick and span, as it always was. Food remains excellent.

The mushrooms had a funny taste as did the sauce in the curry , the lemon chicken tasted old with a chemical taste, we only ate some and were both ill, disgusting food avoid at all costs

Pedimos una comida para llevar grande a las 17:15 horas el 22 de febrero de 2020, para todos los miembros de nuestra familia (12 en total) para ayudar a celebrar el cumpleaños de la calle 81 de mi suegra. Todo estaba listo para nosotros cuando llegamos a la tienda y nos dieron un descuento de 10. 00 ya que el costo fue superior a 100. 00, que fue inesperado y muy amable. Toda la comida estaba preparada con un alto estándar, todo estaba muy rico y el tamaño de las porciones era bueno. Pedí un plato sin cebolla y lo conseguí sin ninguna molestia. Mi sobrino y su esposa dijeron que era lo mejor que habían probado y decidieron hacer su comida china para llevar a pesar de vivir a cierta distancia de allí. Tenemos comida de aquí con bastante frecuencia y siempre la recomendamos a familiares y amigos.

Great food, great prices and the lady on the phone is very helpful. Fast delivery and large portions, the best Chinese delivery in our area (Calverton) by far!

Llamamos al Nee How el sábado 07/12/2019 a las 17:00 pm. Tienen una excelente opción para elegir, la comida para llevar que tuvimos fue cocinada a un alto nivel y estaba muy sabrosa. Volveremos de nuevo en el futuro, especialmente cuando tengamos una noche familiar para llevar.

We used this takeaway all the time and it’s always been great. Just collected a meal and 80 percent of it is now in the bin. Shredded Duck rubbery and not shredded. King Prawns in Green Pepper was also disgusting. Called to complain to be told I don’t know what to say I don’t cook the food!!! Won’t be frequenting again that’s for sure.

Absolutely RUBISH service !!!! I waited over an hour for the wrong food and to add insult to injury the food tasted horrible. Never ordering from this place again.

Visit a friends who’s new moved to Burton Joyce , order this Chinese take-away for collection , Hot foods and good counter services ,let know they was new owner take over . Foods taste very nice , absolutely return 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This so called takeaway. Wow. Where do I start. Firstly the old manager running this mess is impolite especially (on his staff) even I witnessed him grabbing the young lad on the till. Wouldn't go again if you want a nice takeaway go to yaus.

The food is disgusting from here!! We spent £50, the spare ribs were that spare you couldn’t get any meat off them, the prawn toast tasted like plain fried bread, the sweet and sour sauce was dirty looking and smelt very strongly of vinegar and the rice was hard and chewy. Please don’t waste your money. We also didn’t look at the hygiene rating before ordering.......it’s 3/5 🤢

Quite good delivery and food quite good too. Curry sauce could be hotter or spicier, but that's personal choice. Take Away arrives hot, so that's good too.

A good friendly local fast takeaway. Excellent choice and freshly ground. The food is always done to order. Crisp fresh vegetables. Chicken tasty and succulent. Rice dry and cooked to perfection and chips just everyone's favourite.

Have ordered from here in the past when it was under the old management and it was great. Now under new management the food is horrible. The duck was very fatty hardly any cucumber and spring onions. The rice was dry, the prawn crackers were soft like they had been sat out for a day. The crispy beef was slimy. There was more veg in the Hong Kong chicken than chicken its self! Very poor, will never order from here again.

Habíamos estado de compras todo el día en Lincoln y decidimos llevarnos una comida de camino a casa. Llamamos a la comida china para llevar de Nee How en Burton Joyce. Encontramos la comida muy sabrosa y cocinada a un buen nivel. La comida para llevar estaba limpia y ordenada, y volvería a usarla.

We used to order from here a couple of times a month. Food used to be great, however our most recent experience was awful. My husband ordered the Beef Curry. The "beef" was just gristle, and tasted like it had been processed. Very poor, won't rush to use again

The best Chinese Takeaway in the area.

This review is based on the latest meal I have had from this Chinese Takeaway, I've ordered from there before with no problems and food has been good, however last night has now stopped me from going back. I normally use Chan's Cantonese in Lowdham, but fancied a change and Nee How have some slightly different dishes on their menu. We placed our order at just after 5pm for a 7:30pm collection. I arrived at 7:30 to collect my order. A few people were waiting in the que & the phone was ringing quite a bit but from what I gathered this was mainly from customers who were querying where there order was (I guess deliveries were also late), so I understood that they were busy. First thing I don't like is that when you place your order they don't take your name, so when you arrive you are asked if you know what you ordered, I personally do not like this approach, feels unprofessional - they should know by your name what you have ordered rather than the customer trying to resight what they ordered. Secondly I have no issue with waiting a little longer for my order, but I think 25 mins with no apology either while I was waiting or when I got up to collect it, other than here you go madam, was just rude and bad customer service, especially when you get charged for a very disappointingly small bag of greasy prawn crackers (despite paying over £15 for the meal) and a 80p charge for Debit card!! Note: You get a big bag of free prawn crackers from Chans in Lowdham if you spend over £10. The food itself was nothing to shout about, the duck spring rolls were undercooked and very squishy inside, the salt & pepper ribs were small, fatty and generally pointless, the rice was edible & the peking dish was average. I shall not be returning any time soon & do not recommend unless they sort their business out.

Changed ownership recently and the last Chinese was great.

I have just been accused by Nee How of having 'prank' called an order. In spite of my being a 42 year old mum of two, in bed watching Bear Grylls, and, having politely explained that there had been a mix up of which we were not involved, the manager at Nee How thought it necessary to phone me to shout vile things at me. I'm sure there are fake orders placed from time to time but not by me. I have been a regular customer - now in the past - and genuinely can't understand how my details ended up on someone else's order but clearly customer service and attitude to the local community is drastically lacking. What a horrible restaurant with horrible staff to treat someone in such a way. Having tried to talk it through, I remain shocked at such treatment. Nee How, please try to use some common sense when dealing with customers. Think, who would prank call you from their own phone to their own address?!?! I await your unreserved apology. Anyway, back to the lovely 'Bear....'.

The food was terrible, people don't order from them!!! The beef and mushrooms was on gravy, the noodles was oily and burned, that was the worst Chinese that I had!!! And I had spent £49 pounds on my order, not again best place around gedling is lucky house in Netherfield!!! Definitely Not Ordering from Nee How EVER AGAIN NOT GOOD!!

I never write reviews but has to be the worse Chinese ever. So I need to write! No salt or pepper on the salt and pepper chilli chips, oh and one chilli, Over cooked chicken balls, the chicken tasted fishy! The lettuce was limp, no prawn crackers, wasted £25! And ruined our Saturday night treat !

Tried this place in Burton Joyce for the first and now last time, food was awful. It tasted as though it had been made with some kind of paste and it had not been mixed in correctly as they were great balls of the stuff in the food it was inedible. I like hot food and the menu stated that it was medium hot but it nearly blew our heads off it was so hot. We will definitely give this place a miss in the future.

We ordered the meal for 6pm, but the email response said 6.20 collection. We went to collect it at 6.20, only to be told it was ready at 6pm! Obviously some sort of glitch with the system!

Had a birthday meal from here last night as we live locally first time we used Nee How all of it was amazing they forgot 1dish and hurried round with it giving us a bottle coke and extra food service and food excellent will be back thank you.

The food was 40 minutes late and when arrived not the quality we expect from this takeaway. We had a party meal, no prawn crackers were supplied, which has always been included for the 7 years we have used them and the duck was like meat dust! Starting to think it is time to use a different takeaway!

Don't waste your time with this take-away in Burton Joyce. The food we ordered didn't arrive and the reason given was that they were too busy. Not recommended.

Food actually tastes vile and I've never actually had a Chinese that's so bad it's not eadible. Funny taste to all food and sweet and sour is just vinegar in a dish! Delivery took nearly 2 hours when originally told it would be 40 minutes, after many phone calls back and fore, we were told there were 2 more orders to our village so they were holding ours off until the others were ready! Had the B2 for two people. Portion sizes were absolutely spot on. Starters were a good variety and being able to choose the main was fantastic. Tasted brill, will definitely use again.

It was very busy so I had a 20 minute wait, the food overall was excellent, the only negative was the sweet and sour pork which was all sweet and no sour but that seems to vary everywhere. The rest was first class and I will definitely be back.

Food is always excellent however delivery is terrible. Ordered twice recently and over an hour later than the 50 minutes already stated. I would suggest always order early as the food is worth it.

Very nice, we tried one about 6 months ago and weren't impressed, however as we have recently moved to b. joyce, we thought we would give it another go. Glad we did, pleasantly surprised, very tasty at a fair price and delivered on time. We will definitely be going again

Can't believe the Chinese staff could be so ignorant, arrogant & not give a shi## about the service, food or customer satisfaction. If I didn't know better I'd say this was run by a boy who has no idea how to use his father's investment wisely....

Very good delivery driver, wasn't sure where the lake was didn't give up and found me, chow mein and chicken wings were awsome!The only bad part were the Pork balls were way too greasy! Other than that very nice!! Would order from here again
