First visit in almost 8 years with family for birthday meal. Chose late afternoon (after 4pm) slot and was relatively easy to get to, plenty of parking and seated immediately. A wedding party had just finished so presumably the plentiful space was created by that ending. Good things… Parking was good at the time we arrived. The foyer is a great photo opportunity with picturesque waterfall background. The restaurant has a whole looks wonderful inside and probably one of the largest around, A large food offering, from sizeable salad bar, to good starter options, large mains offerings with request for speciality dishes should you want them. Deserts were also plentiful. All tasted good and was pleased with that aspect. Particularly pleasing what they the dishes were replenished regularly and felt freshly cooked. The waiter service for drinks was impressive. Always someone around and had multiple people to cover every area. Not so good.. Like most restaurants the toilets are rubbish. In fact was a queue for the only baby changing. Youd think with attracting mostly families this would be a priority. At peak times it could be somewhat a nightmare. Just as we finished mains there was a large queue going all the way to the drinks bar. This was quite uncomfortable as we had endless people staring and listening in (as well as bumping into our group, one even decided to sit on one of our chairs as the standing was too much!). For this i would say ask to be seated away from the tables alongside the salad bar. You will get charged for everything, water including! As above, the wait times for food increase and there is no queue management from what i saw. When we left there were cars circling the car park which by this time had become so busy there wasnt enough space left. There is a parking steward but seemed like he would rather be somewhere else. All in all it is still a good place to visit and had good food options but to make the most choose an earlier booking slot!

We've been there yesterday allocated table no. 67. I'd like to give a big shoutout to the (young) waiter guy Sameer who has been amazing in his level of service provided to us. He has been well attentive and followed the drinks related ordered carefully. Overall experience with him and the restaurant was flabbergasted and would recommend to everyone.

When I last visited it was named Nawaab but unfortunately everything is changed to Merzee. I was expecting this more better but I was wrong. I went there with my relatives, I drove from Birmingham to there as our first stop was Trafford Centre and then next stop was this for food. I recommended this, that is best but I was wrong. Firstly the cost per head £26.95 it is extremely high. Secondly you have to pay for drinks even water. Thirdly the quality of the food is not the same like before. If they increased the prices they should provide delicious food taste and quality. (Even the non famous buffets have better food taste and normal prices). Fourthly the waiter services became laziest, I ordered pepsi max and i got around 10 or 15 mins later, called waiter twice. We were expecting tasteful food but there is nothing tasteful anymore. It was really bad experience I ever had, even my relatives felt very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone never ever.

I just thought they changed the name but realistically everything has changed from the staff to the quality. I have been coming here for years and spend easily over £500 on each occasion but I promise it’s my last time would not come again, the chef has becomes stingy in the way they give the nihari paya etc nearly got into an argument also the quality seems to have gone down too. Save your money go somewhere else

Disappointed!!! We have been a regular customer to Nawab for years.The food and staff at Nawab have always been top notch. But since the change of management to Marzee we are not that impressed with the food. Our recent visit was awful wherein some of the food items felt like left overs from day before. Especially with the hiked prices one would expect even better quality that Nawab used to serve. But the fact is the quality has gone really down. Recommend not to waste your money

Saturdays r very rushed and highly recommended to avoid 7./9pm rush .manager came over whilst we started deserts ' plz can you finish quickly ' etc ..... Was very off-putting.same again in carpark as on a cold winter night warming car up ......no people in cars waiting ????? Paid then get out policy . MERZEEE MANAGER RUSHIG WAS RUDE , CARPARK ATTENDANT RUSHING US FOR SPACE .RUDE AGAIN . FINDING A MORE FRIENDLY PLACE IN FUTURE .

Group of us go for curries every so often, we decided to try the buffet here, at 27 pound a head excluding drinks ( non alcoholic only) price wise it was definitely cheaper than a normal curry based on the amount of food you can get. The actual venue is very nice , can see why people book for weddings/large parties There was a large variety of starters and a fair few curries ( although mostly all chicken based ) . However quantity doesn't equate to quality and for me the food was no where near as nice as you would get in a decent traditional curry restaurant. I think you just end up eating more than you need to of average food to justify paying the buffet price. I wouldn't return , although the place was very busy so I assume for some people the variety and amount is worth it

What a stunning place, the entrance hall looks like a 5 star hotel. I am far from an Indian expert but there were so many choices it was great. Wasnt too amused with the tikka masala but the rest was delicious. Please bare in mind if you go that there is no alcohol being served.

The curries have improved since we last went when it was Nawaab. The curry is thicker with more flavour and way less oil. The starters were nice but the daal has changed. I preferred the old daal. The old daal was the highlight of my trip in the Nawaab days. But now the curries are the highlight with Merzee. The lamb chops were much better too. Much more moist and flavourful. I didn’t have any digestive issues or nausea after the food which I did when it was Nawaab. I used to dread those watery oily bland curries that they did. The only downside is that they charge you for popadoms. At £26 per person plus the extra cost of drinks, it seemed cheeky to charge for popadoms when it’s supposed to be a buffet. It was nice to have one last visit there since its changed. I won’t be returning again. Purely because of the price.

We had big party here and told when booked any person not come we pack food to take home. On the day more than 60 people not come in the party. We been given food of 5 person to take home. While party going on they took our food down stairs to sell in buffet. When asked management for explination no one wants speak about it. Rang so many times no answer. Please do not book any party here as they rob you.

I recently visited Royal Nawabs with my family as it is usually a more child friendly place and the kids love choosing from the many varieties that Nawaabs is known for.We all came back home, even the children feeling we had the worst meal ever.The food was awful, theres not much starters anymore and my usual favourite, Chapli kebab hardly had any salt in it.If the meal wasn’t nice usually the desserts can cheer you up. Years before they had good quality cakes and you would have to come for seconds. Nothing seemed appealing. The desserts are now made with cheap ingredients; I picked the lemon cheesecake as the other option was the forever there chocolate fudge cake and it was awful.Over the years prices have doubled and it seems that the more successful of a business you become you then want maximum profit minimum spend. Such a 5 star restaurant why would it lower its standards?Also the plates are so small now. I get that they want less wastage, but for a main plate this is out of order. We just left feeling angry. It’s ok spending over a hundred pounds if the food is good but I don’t remember the last time I felt so bad. Not just me but the kids don’t want to go there again.If we’d chosen the usual restaurant that we normally go to and then to the desserts shop we would have been a lot more satisfied and even saved extra money.

I had been looking forward to coming back here for a long time. As usual I was greeted by the very friendly doorman like a long lost friend. Temperature checks on the way in. Then seated at your table. On the way to get your starters there are hand sanitising facilities and you get a plastic glove to wear. Not the usual large range on the salad bar. Some chutneys and other bits. Then onto the amazing range of starters various chicken bits including chicken tikka, shami kebabs, pakoras, onion bhajis and various breads all in one section. After several plates of delicious starters onto the main course. Which was in its own section. You start with rice dishes including birani, then various veg curries I usually have a great carrot one amongst many others, then onto a range of lamb dishes, some of which the chefs give you. I had a delicious lamb hzlerm, then various chicken dishes. They also have a range of pasta and chinese style dishes. Finally onto the pudding section. A range of delicious Pakistani puddings, ice cream and western deserts. I had a delicious gulab hamam. As always a amazing experience. Iove this place.

Nawab is my favourite restaurant. They have lots of variety. My favourite is their lamb nihari the best I have had. Their desserts are also nice. Starters are fantastic. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants.

Absolutely fantastic take away--the first take away I've ever been compelled to leave a review for! Samosa chaat was delicious, and the lamb curry was so tender and flavoursome. Even the way the food was served in the little circular labeled tubs was well thought out and impressive. This will now be my go to Indian to order from, and I can't wait to try your food out in your restaurant as soon as lockdown is over.

Very sorry and so disappointed nawab restaurant isn’t nawab anymore they don’t care about their customers anymore I wanted to visit a nice place with family spent £174.50 last night my family the staff are all very rude and food is poor they serve you very small plates and expect you to que up again . They allow to many people in the restaurant and I didn’t see any social distancing being adhered to

Este fue mi segundo y último viaje a este restaurante.Desde el momento en que entramos, el personal estaba de mal humor, sin idea de por qué. . .Nos dijeron unas 5 veces que el restaurante cierra a las 9. 45 pm, aunque el sitio web dice 10 pm. El servicio del personal fue terrible. Estaban felices de servir una jarra de bebida que habíamos pagado en nuestra mesa, pero cuando pedimos agua del grifo, tuvimos que ir al bar, ya que no se benefician económicamente de darles a los clientes agua del grifo. Nunca le escribo un comentario negativo a nadie, pero estoy muy decepcionado. Hoy visitamos Royal Nawab para un almuerzo familiar. . . . Tomamos algunos entrantes ya que no nos gusta demasiado pollo. Hoy no tenían chuletas de cordero, por lo que los niños no comen curry ni kebabs. Luego, todo el estofado de cordero, el cordero namkeen, el cordero balti Desi estaban demasiado cocidos, los huesos y la carne estaban separados y sirven un pequeño trozo de carne y mucha salsa, pedimos saag, sirven solo para un bocado y tenemos que decir uno. morder más. Visitamos hoy 26 de agosto de 2020. Colas muy largas debido al programa Eat Out. Llegamos allí por 2. 30 pm y me dijeron de 2 a 3 horas, pero probablemente dentro de la primera hora, ya que mucha gente estaba comiendo postres. Toman nombre y número y lo agregan a la lista.Regresé después de 1 hora y 30 minutos para preguntar si mucho más tiempo, realmente no pudieron aconsejar ni verificar que tuvieran el número correcto. Fui al auto esta vez para sentarme y pensé en darles otra hora, donde estábamos hablando con otra familia que recibió la llamada dentro de los 30 minutos de haber hablado con ellos, habían estado esperando 1 hora 30 minutos en total y eran 5 personas y consiguieron llamó antes que nosotros. Esto me molestó un poco porque llegamos primero y éramos 4. Aquí es donde decidí llamarlos por teléfono y preguntarles en lugar de caminar. ¡En este punto me di cuenta de MI error! Mi teléfono está configurado para rechazar números privados, el personal de Nawaab me había llamado una hora antes, aproximadamente la vez que fui a verificar la primera vez.Dimos la vuelta al frente y explicamos lo que había sucedido, al principio decían que tenías que volver a la lista, pero después de solicitar amablemente y admitir que era mi culpa y tener 2 niños hambrientos, nos encontraron una mesa. 5 * por el servicio y el cuidado de nosotros, me pregunto cuántas personas más tuvieron este problema y no se dieron cuenta. Querido equipo,Creo que tengo que ser honesto aquí, estoy decepcionado por segunda vez y mi visión del restaurante ha cambiado por completo.El martes pasado llegamos al restaurante alrededor de las 6 de la tarde solo para descubrir largas colas debido al 'esquema de comer fuera'. Nos hicieron esperar más de 3 horas dado que nuestra reserva se tomó tan pronto como llegamos. Aunque nos aseguraron que la espera no durará más de 2 horas, notamos que había grupos de personas enviadas adentro que llegaron definitivamente más tarde que nosotros. Fue una pena notar que cuando señalamos el error cuando revisamos la lista de reserva y notamos que muchos nombres debajo de nosotros habían sido tachados desde que los dejaron ingresar al restaurante. Cuando se les preguntó más, nos dijeron que habían hecho la reserva por adelantado.Después de esperar concienzudamente durante 3 horas, nos dijeron que no lo lograríamos y sugirieron hacer reservas anticipadas.Como algunos de mis amigos querían probar el restaurante incluso después de una experiencia tan horrible, querían hacer una reserva anticipada. Cuando llamé al restaurante hoy para hacer una reserva para 15 de nosotros, me dijeron que no hay reserva anticipada para mañana, lo que empeoró las cosas. Realmente no puedo entender cuál es la verdad y cuál no.Esta fue la quinta visita a este restaurante y una que nunca olvidaré. Debido a las reglas del covid 19 no hay buffet i. mi. autoservicio del que suele ser Royal nawaabs, me dieron una pieza de pollo que pedí cuando pedí otra pieza me dieron una pieza que no elegiría normalmente porque no se veía bien cocida, en 8 horas tenía diarrea de estómago calambres, básicamente tuve una intoxicación alimentaria que duró varios días, creo que hay un problema con la comida mal cocinada y la higiene, anteriormente he disfrutado de los nawaabs en la mayoría de las ocasiones, ¡pero no lo recomendaría ahora debido a esta experiencia! ! !

Arrived at the restaurant at 5.30 PM only to discover there were extremely long queues because of the 'Eat out to help out scheme'. Had to wait around 4 hours despite the fact that we had booked as soon as we arrived. Although they assured us the wait would not be longer than 2 hours, we discovered that they had sneaked large groups of people inside who had arrived much later than us. We found out about this deceit when we insisted on seeing the booking list and noted that quite a lot of names at the bottom of the list had been crossed off since they had been allowed into the restaurant. In fact, when we finally managed to get inside the restaurant, we saw a lot of diners who came much later than us! This was my very first visit to this restaurant and one that I will never forget. I think they should have informed the people in the queue that they were not going to allow anymore inside since the restaurant was full for the night, but they kept people waiting outside in the hope of making more money since these people were not important to them. The least they could have done was to offer complimentary tea, coffee or soft drinks to calm everyone. This is a restaurant which refused to take bookings on the phone and told people just to turn up on the day. With regard to the food, I asked the waiter for some chicken biryani only to be given a plate of rice with no chicken. When I asked him if this was chicken biryani, he replied in the affirmative but still didn't give me any chicken. So my view of the restaurant is negative.

For Indian food this is easily the best buffet restaurant in Manchester. The selection of starters is wide ranging. Fish pakoras are excellent, along with sikh kebabs, shami kebabs and tandoori chicken. The selection of curries is again wide ranging along with the several side dishes such as bombay potatoes and saag. The lamb and checken curries are excelent. The chicken biryani is fantastic. The price you pay is nothing when compared with the quality, choice, and amount of food you see on offer. I have visited this place for many years, and will be sure to go there again.

We had heard good things about Royal Nawaab we are not local so were not sure what to expect. You can't book which seems crazy in this day and age so we turned up to be told a 30 minute wait - no problem even though at this point the restaurant was quiet. 20 mins our pager went off. We orderd some drinks and off we went (drink are fairly reasonable to be honest, £5 for a jug or coke) What can i say i've been to a few buffet but i've never been to one like this the choice of starters alone was fantasic. A lot of it very tasty and spicy if you like things hot your in the right place. Main courses had a good variety - although many were very very oily and this put me of trying some of them. Nann breads sufferd for being under the heat lamps but a small complaint. The dessert counter was excellent the ice cream was miles better than expected and wish i'd gone back for some more.By the time we left the place was heaving probably too busy so i was glad we ate about 5.30 on a sunday. 7pm was madness. 4 stars mainly because the curries were a bit too oily for me, and the resauant has a bit of a choke point where they have the pizza and the pasta opposite the rice and naans so it can take some time to get around. But other than that it was great, well priced, lots of choice and I enjoyed a lot of what I ate will keep an eye out if we are over Levenshulme way again.

We went for a family meal yesterday evening, it was cramped because it was so busy you are having to juggle your way to the buffet if you are sat on the other end as we were. The food wasnt tasty, steak was thick and overly sweet, starters are ok but from there onwards it's all tasteless. My 11 year old was charged £18.95 per head so we paid £92.87 for 5 of us for eating about £10 worth of food. The water is expensive as are the drinks, would never go again or recommend.

I have been coming the Nawaab since it first opened. I have never had a bad experience. We went as a group on a friday night this time. We had to wait for around 20 minutes for a table to become free. They have a special device which calls you when a table is free. We had a soft drink whilst we were waiting.Once we were seated it was the normal busy, hustle and bustle with loads of families and people of all generations and ethnicities enjoying the fun which is the NawaabIf you wanted poddadums you would pay extra to have them served at your table. SInce there was so much choice we decided not to bother. From right to left. You can start with a massive range of salads, chutneys and other healthyish stuff including tahini, then onto the starters, various sheek, shami kebabs, various chicken starters including chicken tikka pieces, chicken drumsticks and various other combinations, lovely fish pieces in a light spicy batter, various vegetable pakoras, pakistani style spicy chips, then onto nan breads, parathas and chapatis, then onto various rice dishs, including mixed vegetable rice, pilau rice and others, then onto a massive choice of vegetable curries including a amazing carrot dish which I lover every time, Matter Panneer, aubergine curry, kidney bean curry, sag panneer, pumpkin curry and loads more besides, then onto a range of lamb dishes I had a lovely Lamb Karahi, then various chicken dishes. Being cooked behind the meat dishes various amazing specials are being made. I had my favourite Lamb Haleem,. Other dishes including Paya(sheeps feet), Lamb Nehari and loads of others are available. If you have room they have a breathtaking array of puddings. Including various pakistani deserts ,my favourite being Gulab Jaman, and their rice pudding, I also had a guard pudding which was amazing, plus they have loads of ice creams and gateaus.As usual a amazing experience. Service was a little rough and ready. I love this place.

This place has gone downhill. The food quality is not what it used to be and the service is gone worse. We asked a waiter for some tap water and he said that he cant get that for us and that we have to go to the bar and get it ourselves. Which didn't make any sense since you order the other drinks and they are brought to your table. When I mentioned this to the manager he said yes this is our policy, on asking the reason for it he said it's always been like this. We said that's not a reason can you give us a proper reason and he said we are only obliged to give you water if you alcohol to drink. Seriously? That's such a pathetic reason. The restaurant does not serve alcohol. I think the guy just made is up on the spot. Also when asked him if any of the dishes contain nuts as my son has a severe nut allergy he was very lax about it. He said some of the dishes have nuts but we can't stop the cross contamination and I'm sure your son will be fine with that. Its normal to have some nuts traces in all the food. He couldn't even give us a straight answer. We were shocked at his behaviour that how lightly he takes life threatening allergies. None of the dishes are labelled if they contain any allergens. Im surprised the food authorities haven't picked on this. This is a major failing in a restaurant.On the whole He came across very rude and cocky. I would strongly suggest that he goes on a hospitality course and learn a thing or two. Will not be coming back here at all.

Visited here on a Friday night. The food choice and quality is fantastic especially the cooked to order dishes they have behind the counter. There’s numerous starters, mains and desserts to choose from. You certainly won’t leave hungry. Our waiter was Sihab and he could not do enough for us. He was absolutely fabulous. He didn’t stop running around the whole time we were there. Plates were cleared immediately and our drink order was very very fast. Absolutely no complaints!

Was expecting this place to be amazing since the price is high and with all of the reviews but it wasn't. There was me and my partner and our 2 children. We were seated quickly and drinks order taken but took at least 15 minutes for drinks to arrive. We had a little bit of food but it tasted like it had come out of the jar and the chicken was very rough. The garlic bread seemed stale it was so tough. Then when it came to dessert, we got given the tiniest slither of cake and was told we were not allowed another one, so much for unlimited! The knife he was cutting with was thicker than the cake! Spent £65 on 2 diet cokes, 2 fruit shoots, 1 plate of food each and a tiny slither of cake. Like i said, disappointing. Will not be returning. Place looks beautiful but food does not live up to expectations.

Me and my family genuinely love this restaurant, we visit all the time whether it be for a celebration or general outing - its the best. We have visited both restaurants: London and Manchester but i personally prefer Manchester. I suggest everyone to try Royal Nuwaab Manchester, for whatever occasion it maybe, you will most likely want to visit again. The only thing you should be aware of is the (annoyingly) lengthy wait... There is almost always a long wait but to be honest i understand why, it's so popular and very worth the wait.

This was the most terrible and disgusting experience at this restaurant. We booked a table for 21, 7 children including 3 disabled children in wheelchairs. The booking was for 6.30pm Saturday 25 January 2020. This was a birthday treat for a disabled child and family and friends went from Bradford in a hired limousine. Upon arrival there was nowhere to sit. We arrived at 6.20 so 10 minutes earlier than our booking time. We were told initially by staff we're late as our booking was 6.15 or 6 and we'll have to wait up to 2 hours. Staff were confused and clearly trying to cover up their fault as the booking was confirmed for 6.30 and not before. We gave them the name of staff 'Taha' we spoke to book. Staff were aggressive and threatened to refuse us to serve if we didn't go outside and wait. Then it was after one hour at 7.30 that we finally managed to get a table. Whilst the waitering staff were all polite and helpful. Some staff behind their kitchen were not so polite, rather abrupt and somewhat rude. We were told you've to ask for chop sticks as they were not out on display. Once when my brother went to get some chops he was told it is only 2 per person and that's it. This is supposed to be a buffet at £18 per person. There are so many restaurants up and down the country that don't have such limit. Kitchen staff said this is instruction given to them by management/owners. There was no proper apology, let alone any discount for all the inconvenience caused by the delays due to their staff, service before and after and the fact that not all food can be served from display out. Instead good few items are behind and if you don't see or ask you won't know and get to see it.

Having been a loyal and fairly frequent customer for the last 20 years approximately I decided to take my grandparents for an anniversary meal. The food was awful- full of both salt and oil. Despite complaining numerous times whilst there, the staff were unhelpful and not bothered. My family and I were disgusted with the service and food. They even refused to give a refund/ gesture of good will. The standards have dropped dramatically and I was even told my the manager himself not to come back again!

La comida era todo lo que podía comer buffet, que era normal, la configuración no estaba sincronizada, por lo que hubo muchos cruces al seleccionar sus cursos. También me resultó difícil obtener una selección de postres, ya que tenía que pedirlo por separado. El servicio era muy pobre y no lo recomendaría ni visitaría de nuevo.

The experience we had today from start to finish was absolutely amazing. The greeting we received from fantastic. The staff are so welcoming and they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The food was delicious with an excellent choice right across the spice spectrum. There was something for everyone’s pallet. The drinks were very reasonably priced which is very unusual for a buffet type restaurant. It was very clean and beautifully presented. There is a wide range of salads, starters, mains and desserts. I couldn’t find anything to complain about. It was well worth the journey. They have a staffed car park just for customers. We will definitely come back again and bring our family next time.

I celebrated my wedding with Nawaab last Saturday and the day itself was lovely until we discovered after the event that the staff members had given our leftover food from the wedding - valued at a significant amount - to the other wedding party at the same venue without checking. Whilst we could understand if this was a genuine mistake, we were told by the staff member in question that she gave the food to ‘some Asian guy in a baseball cap’ - clearly to Nawaab staff, all Indian and Pakistani people are the same! Appalling treatment. Having raised a complaint with Nawaab, we have been told that this issue was not their fault and that we won’t receive any compensation. I’m truly disgusted by their lack of responsibility and the ignorant comments of the staff member who can’t differentiate one Asian person from another. Very disappointed by the appalling treatment and lack of efforts to remedy the situation.
