Inflation has hit very hard in this restaurant. We dined here last year. The previous experience was great. Unfortunately this time was far from a great experience. The portion size of the exact same dish as last time had been cut by almost half. The price was similar. The chips were advertised as triple cooked, this was not the case. The service when entering the restaurant was bad. We got shown our table without having been asked if we would like to see the menu or if we would like a drink. I went to the bar to order drinks for my wife and I. We will not be going back.

I recently celebrated my birthday at the Narrowboat pub, and it was absolutely unforgettable! From the start, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the team went above and beyond to make my special day truly memorable. Kamila was incredible – she helped decorate the space to perfection, ensuring everything looked festive and stylish. She also took care of cutting and distributing the cake and champagne, adding a personal touch that made the celebration feel even more special. Ben was equally fantastic, expertly handling the distribution of food and drinks and ensuring all my guests were happy and well-attended. The food was exceptional and a real surprise compared to other venues of this kind. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients, elevating the entire experience. The area we rented was spacious, with a fantastic balcony that offered beautiful views of the Regent's Canal, creating a perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. The combination of the stunning location, the outstanding food, and the exceptional service provided by Kamila and Ben made my birthday celebration everything I had hoped for and more. I wholeheartedly recommend the Narrowboat pub for any celebration – it’s a place where you feel genuinely cared for, and where every detail is thoughtfully handled. A huge thank you to the team for making my birthday so special!

The Narrowboat: A Gem by the Water I recently stumbled upon The Narrowboat and was pleasantly surprised. This charming pub offers a perfect escape from the city hustle and bustle. The canal-side location is simply idyllic, providing a serene backdrop for enjoying a drink. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with friendly staff making everyone feel welcome. The drink selection was impressive, catering to a variety of tastes. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or prefer something a bit stronger, there's something for everyone. I'd definitely recommend The Narrowboat for a leisurely afternoon or evening drink. It's a hidden gem that's well worth a visit.

Unfortunately we had terrible dining experience here, we were 6 people for dinner and waited a long time for our food to arrive. When our food eventually appeared, one of the dishes we ordered was a medium-rare steak but upon arrival it was cooked more well done. The steak was £29 and at this price I would expect this to be cooked correctly. I mentioned this to the waitress who accepted this was not cooked correctly and said they will send it back to the kitchen for a replacemenr. After 5 minutes, the manager came to our table questioning if we wanted the steak rare, as what they had provided was "medium" (in their opinion) and we kindly explained to her that the steak was brown throughout and had requested "medium rare". After 25-30 minutes had passed (the rest of our table had finished their meals) I complained to the manager, who told me my plate was next. A further 10 minutes later (meanwhile all the tables around us had been served their food) there was still no replacement sent. At this point we asked for the bill and for the steak not to be included on this, they said 2 minutes and 1 the steak appeared. Unfortunately, we had been waiting over 40 minutes and felt this was unacceptable so decided to pay the bill and leave.

🌟The Narrowboat Pub: A Hidden Gem on Regent’s Canal 🌟 I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Narrowboat, a delightful pub tucked away along Regent’s Canal in Islington. Let me share my five-star experience with you! 1. Scenic Views and Cozy Atmosphere The Narrowboat is a true hidden gem. As I stepped onto the balcony, I was greeted by picturesque views of the canal. Even on that slightly overcast day, the charm of the waterway and the surrounding greenery was undeniable. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, whether you’re with friends or family. 2. Friendly and Attentive Staff Kristina, Aimee, and Agnes—the heart and soul of The Narrowboat—made my visit memorable. Their warm smiles and attentive service elevated the entire experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, quick to recommend their favorite drinks, and genuinely interested in ensuring guests felt welcome. 3. Craft Beers and Cocktails The drink selection at The Narrowboat is impressive. From cask ales to craft beers, they cater to all tastes. I highly recommend trying their Guinness — perfectly served with a view. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or a cocktail lover, you won’t be disappointed. 4. The Perfect Escape The Narrowboat offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of London life. Whether you’re sipping a pint by the water or enjoying a leisurely meal, you’ll find solace here. It’s a place where time slows down, and conversations flow freely. In summary, The Narrowboat Pub is a must-visit. Kristina, Aimee, and Agnes, along with the entire team, create an inviting haven where good food, great drinks, and stunning views converge. Cheers to this charming spot along Regent’s Canal! 🍻

As a regular that's local to the narrowboat I was frustrated at the attitude of who I think is the pub manager, accusing me of running off without paying the last bar tab as well as insinuating that I am a bad dog parent. It was a genuine oversight in not paying the bar tab, of which I offered to pay but he refused to take my money. Drinks are always paid for before they are taken to the table. I can't but help wonder if this is a personal attack on my character, especially being gay. I hope not. Be mindful of being a patron at this pub.

We did walk by downstairs later and it looked more busy. We ordered via the app which was convenient, but do note that you will need to sign up, so you may prefer ordering at the bar instead. Every time we visit, he eagerly anticipates the attention of the staff and his own water bowl. This past weekend when we popped by the staff noticed Casper's excitement and wanted to give him a little treat however the treat jar was empty so they went out especially to fetch some treat for him. We have previously enjoyed this pub but had a terrible dining experience tonight. Our food was sub par and not tasty at all. The main course came not as described and was mushy and luke warm. It’s a nice pub on the canal and the atmosphere was fine. The problem was the roast. The mashed carrots and parsnips were stone cold. The ‘honey glazed’ carrots were flavourless. The ‘roasties’ were bland and aneamic. The beef was undercooked and so thinly cut that it all resembled Parma ham and i got literally 1 tablespoon gravy on top of it all. The only nice thing was the yorkie which was lovely. Might go back for drinks but definitely not for the roast.

Superb spot. Appreciate the staff. Many pool tables and not too busy in the early evening during the week.

Staff are not very welcome and also they don’t care much about clients satisfaction

Ordered a takeaway from the Angel store last night. Within a few hours I began suffering with food poisoning, and a few hours later so did my boyfriend. We are still very unwell and would not recommend eating from this restaurant as the food is clearly contaminated.

My favourite pub in London. Great decor and atmosphere, and ticks all the other boxes you need. Has a lovely old school charm in an unpretentious, authentic way - whilst remaining friendly and welcoming to all. It shows football as well if you're into that, but rarely feels like an overwhelmingly football pub. It feels fitting that their adopted team is St Pauli; a German club known for being the first to align itself with the anti-fascist movement back in the day. All in all a real gem.
