I ordered delivery through just eat. Saw their pamphlet on my door step and was craving some flavorful soup as I wasn’t feeling well. The ordered arrived in 15mins, which was surprising as on the website it was showing one hour. We were happy but when we opened the food except the crackers nothings tasted good. We ordered two Tom yum soup as it’s our go to from any Thai place. But trust me this is the worse I have ever had. No lemon grass, no galangal and no kaffir…. are you serious??? How is it even a Tom yam soup then. It was just flavored water with few mushrooms, prawns and cherry tomato. I was so disappointed we paid 14 pounds for that :/ we also ordered Pad Pring so we thought let’s try that, might be better but again disappointed 😔 the Pad pring had three chillies on the menu shown for the spicy level but this wasn’t even close to spicy nor there was salt, it was just bland. Paid nearly 30GBP for this food. Biggest regret ever. Please don’t write “taste of Thailand” on the menu when it’s not even close to it.

I visited here very recently, we sat upstairs in the restaurant part. We were given some complimentary prawn and thai crackers whilst waiting for our food. We ordered Thai fish cakes and scallops, the names are different on the menu, it took about 22 mins for the starters to arrive but were well worth the wait, well presented and very very tasty. The Mains were quicker, we had the Thai burger, which was a bit spicy with bacon and cheese, also we had the crying Tiger which was sirloin steak cooked and cut on a bed of hot and sizzling vegetables and very tasty, and also we had the drunken noodles with prawn all very delicous. The atmosphere differs here from other restaurants as it is at the top of a pub but the food is definitely worth the visit.

Ordered for delivery. waited 1 hour ten minutes. Called the restaurant, apparently food is on its way. Half hour later still no food. Called the restaurant and was hung up on twice. 2 hours after ordering and the food arrived. The delivery driver called the manager and we were refused a refund, so we refused the food and put a complaint in to just eat.

I went here to try the food as a treat for my wife, and arrived on a Friday afternoon. We were shown upstairs to a table in what was just an upstairs to the pub and not enclosed. There were a few people in the pub having there Friday drink with some colourful language spoken from the people downstairs which the waiter apologised for. The food itself was very good we ordered starters and mains, the portion sizes were very generous, hot and tasty and took a while to cook but worth the wait. If the environment was better I would have given more stars. It is a shame they they do not partition off the restaurant part away from the pub, as it would make for a better atmosphere.

Delivery over an hour late. If you don’t have the staff to deliver don’t take orders. The crispy duck was horrible dry and struggled to swallow it so over cooked. The crackers tasted odd as well very fishy. My husbands meal was meant to be duck but he got beef. Won’t bother again lots of other better restaurants.

What a disappointment! After reading the reviews I was expecting the food to be good. Sadly it was disgusting. There was no difference between the red curry or the Penang sauces (which tasted packet rubbish). The starters were what you buy in your Supermarket and stick in the oven. £60+ when I could've spent £10-12 Supermarket thai takeout for 2. I love Thai food but this wasn't it!!!

The food was simply fabulous and plentiful. Duck pancakes and squid were our firm favourites. We also ate fish, Thai green curry, lamb shanks and Singapore noodles. It was my daughters birthday. Thai is our family favourite. We were visiting the nearby aqua dome, Hollywood bowl and Ifly. This was near. It did not disappoint despite being a bit grotty and totally empty on a Saturday lunch time. The carpets have seen better days and the smell of the pub reminded me of my student days! Cute mezzanines to sit in meant we could have an area to ourselves, open presents and bring my own cake. The staff were helpful throughout our visit. They also kindly packed up our left overs, which we enjoyed for our tea. We will be back.

I ordered through Just Eat and the delivery estimate was 45 minutes. 2 hours later and the food eventually arrived. Apparently traffic was bad! I live less than 1 mile from the restaurant and it was 10:30 at night. Don’t order any fried items as they arrive soggy - you have to put them in the oven when they arrive. Eating in the “restaurant” is a bad idea... it’s a dodgy pub complete with sticky carpet and pissed up locals. Avoid!

Loved the food here - really tasty! Angry lamb and Pad Thai as well as SeaBass with mango were fabulous. Really attentive and thoughtful service too.

Shame that when you try and order almost half hour before said/stated close time phone is left ringing. Why state a time then dont comply? If you dont want to take a order at the latter time dont advertise being open to stated time. Shame because the food; although expensive, is lovely!

Many Thai restaurants to select from in the local area and this has to be within the top two. Authentic Thai at a reasonable price unlike its main competitor. Have been here a few times and wanted to ensure others would try it out based on the positive reviews. Hopefully it will serve Thai food for years to come. Can order from the English menu at the same time.

We recently ordered a takeaway with some of our friends who had ordered from Narong previously. The food turned up hot (despite us sending the driver to the wrong address!) and was all delicious and well received by everyone. Food ordered included: Narong Thai platter Veg spring rolls Chicken satay The lost fish Thai green curry Goong choochi (highly recommended, the prawns were huge!) No complaints about anything. Will be using again.

Read the reviews and was going to order in but my “carer” fancied an outing. The pub is a sports pub with multiple TVs and a pool table. We sat in the upstairs area , which is a drab place, and ordered our meals at the bar. The food was okay, the presentation was below okay, so I can understand the better reviews on takeaway. If I fancied Thai again , it would be the Thai Lounge at Ropley. The quality of food and presentation would make the journey worthwhile.

A last minute decision to have a take away here proved a good decision. Som tam papaya salad had a nice kick of heat. As did Gang pet yang duck curry. Nice amount of meat in a tasty spicy sauce. Pad thai gai was pleasant and a decent portion. Nothing to complain about here. Well worth a visit. Pub itself is nicely laid out too.

Had a fabulous takeaway ordered on JustEat while visiting some friends in Basingstoke. It was four of us and everyone has had a very enjoyable meal. It was so great, that we have decided to make another trip to Basingstoke to have lunch at Narong Thai. I called ahead to check on the food serving times and I was welcomed with open arms to visit on the following day. Lunch was delicious and the gentleman serving us has done marvellously to make it a very pleasant experience. Thanks for reading and i hope you enjoy the food as much as we did when you go there =)

We booked a table which turns out wasn’t necessary as it’s located within a large pub. We were put upstairs which was perfect.

Although the food arrived slightly later than the predicted delivery time, the driver was very polite and food was hot when arrived. The portion sizes were huge and definitely worth the money. Very impressed with the food received.

Went for a family meal. There was twelve of us including children and everyone was well catered for. We ate off of the children's menu, English menu and Thai menu. Would definitely recommend. Will be ordering Thai takeaway (Which you can get delivered locally) We had the added bonus of being able to watch the football at the same time. A really good experience. Thank you to the helpful friendly staff

It's a little unusual to order a Thai takeaway from proper pub and I mean a proper old school pub , the White Hart most in Basingstoke will know it , I like it proper pool tables, sports and darts , great service, but hey ho I'm not bothered by that. It's about this Thai takeaway ? What's going there I'm local too . So gave I try and we ordered several dishes starting with two Thai Tom Yum Gum (hot soups ) and the two hot Thai dishes one with prawn and one with chicken , plus crispy duck (I thought that was Chinese ! ) along with sticky rice and Garlic rice. It wasn't cheap £49 but as a special occasion we got home and wow ! This is a superbly secret little find here, it's superb , hot, fresh , brilliant , I have to second guess did I just pick this up from a pub? Make no mistake this is some seriously decently cooked Thai food , everything was excellent and I mean good. Well done guys . Fabulous I'll be back :-)

The food is actually delicious and the prices are great - It's only a shame that the kitchen is situated in such a boring, dismal pub that lacks any atmosphere.

I ordered a delivery from Narong Thai a few weeks back, and seriously enjoyed it. When my wife arrived from Mexico, I took her to this restaurant, and albeit it is a pub with seat for eating, we have already decided to return and shall bring along friends the next time so we can share the food, as the portions are amble!!

I took my Mum here for lunch on Good Friday, just because we thought we'd try somewhere local to her house. There is a car park right outside so it was easy to park. It was a Friday lunch time but fairly quiet so we easily got a seat. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was reasonably priced and the menu was really good. They serve delicious Thai food which I was keen to try, but as it was lunch time and we had only popped in for a snack, I have decided to go back another time to try the Thai menu. The food which was served to people on the next table looked delicious though. Mum had a sandwich and I had a salad - it was beautifully presented. The only criticism is that the carpets and toilets could probably do with a bit of refurbishment, a bit grubby but no worse than a lot of pubs.

Worting does not spring to mind as the most obvious place to find a really decent Thai Restaurant near Basingstoke but there it is , a regular looking pub with all the modern day trappings of Sport Bar etc. Don't let that put you off just use the Balcony bar because the food is fantastic, the TomYam Soup as a starter is brilliant, 2 Chilli warning and it deserves it. I followed that with the Asparagus Scallops which again was cooked beautifully.
