Cannot recommend this place enough. At £22.80 a person for delicious, made to order, fresh sushi, the value for money is insane. The service was quick, friendly and portions were perfect. The hot food was delicious and freshly cooked too. Drinks are a little pricey but honestly it doesn’t matter when the food is such a bargain. We left feeling satisfied and like we had great value for money. You absolutely need to try this if you enjoy sushi and Japanese cuisine. We will be returning soon.

We visited Nara Sushi for a family lunch. We decided to try the buffet, which was excellent value at £22.80 each (half price for kids). We tried a wide range of hot and cold food and left there very satisfied! We‘lol definitely be back!

Highly disappointed with the food

Very delicious. The salmon skin sushi was amazing.

We took advantage of their all-you-can-eat deal, which does end up quite pricey with drinks compared to a normal meal out. However I'd still recommend it and there was a great variety of sushi dishes to choose from, which were brought out as and when they were ready.

Vegetarian sushi was amazing, fresh and delivery was fast and friendly This was my last order as I'm vegan now

Really delicious mix of sushi, ordered the family mix and really good choice. Only negative was that they only supplied one set of wooden chopsticks!

Reviews on deliveroo rated this above Wagamama and as an independent we wanted to support so took a chance. What a mistake.. Horrific and inedible. Noodles straight out of the 90’s when no one in the UK had a clue about world cuisine. Slippery & over sauced in sickly sweet sugared yuckiness ! Not a piece of veg in sight. Husband ordered skewers and we only could stomach one between us! Only thing that passed was the complimentary miso soup, which takes no effort other than a bit of boiling water ( was reconstituted). £35 for a take away for two and only the complimentary miso soup was edible Yuck yuck yuck Offended my house still has a lingering odour from it.

No Katsu sauce with chicken Katsu, had to order rice, miso soup not ordered, cold food, thimble full of iceberg lettuce for £4+, measly 4 Yakitori's for going on £7 that are grisley, teriyaki and katsu same battered chicken different thin flavour. Won't be ordering again, £30 for 2 and still hungry.

My husband and I love Nara Sushi Bistro. The food is excellent and the buffet offers a lot of variety for all tastes. The place is nothing special to look at and the service is generally good so can not complain. Atina is lovely, very friendly, and attentive. We have visited when it has not been busy and service is ok but you do sometimes have the get their attention to order some more food or pay the bill. They do sometimes miss items off the order but we just have to get the staff back to remind them and they then bring it over, so its not a big deal. Over all we find the place great value for money, food is incredible but service can be hit or miss but nothing that ruins our dining experience.

I'm a regular customer & usually the food is amazing. Unfortunately this evening the avacado in the sushi was black in the middle & rock hard, and the endamame beans were rock hard too. I'm hoping this was a one-off disappointment.

Nara is one of the best Japanese restaurants ever. The food is amazing, it looks good and everything always tastes excellent. The only thing is you might eat too much but I’m fine with that!

Honestly the best sushi in Portsmouth! I used to go to Nara before lockdown, staff was super nice and food always good. Now I am ordering quite often even tho I live in Cosham and I am coming to collect. Also last time when I’ve ordered sushis I got soup for free! Lovely gesture. Thank you

The food was just inedible. The worst ramen I ever eat, and the salmon teriyaki I don’t even have words. Sushi was warm and looked like was there for days.

Buffett on a Sunday afternoon. It was brilliant food and because me and my wife were the only people there the service was good. The fish used was so fresh. Deffo reccomend!

I'm afraid the food just isn't very good :( the tempura was kind of soggy and the noodles were a bit tasteless. The sushi was alright but not good enough that I would order from this place again. Overall, a bit of a disappointing meal.

The delivery was so quick, it arrived like 20 minutes earlier than expected! The food was delicious, my family ordered a teishoku each and it was so tasty and filling, would definitely recommend it. Also they were lovely enough to put in a free beer on fathers day! Thank you for the amazing food!

Best takeaway I've had in months

I love this place. But I'm not sure why the wait is so long. Even on weekdays, why is there always at least an hour wait? Especially when another rival has opened up, I'd hope that they became much more competitive as their food is by far the best sushi in Portsmouth

The food was excellent, as always. My tuna sashimi was missing, which I reported to just eat. Next thing you’re at my door with the missing tuna. I don’t know any other takeaway in the area that would do that! Once again proving why you are my absolute favourite restaurant in town. Great customer service. Thank you

Loved the food! Amazing quality

I ordered enough food for two people but I was only sent one set of chop sticks. The wife and I had one chop stick each and stabbed our sushi like cave men instead of the eloquent pan Asian quiet tapping while we watched 47 Ronin dressed in komodes. Food was good, the film wasn't.
