Don't believe all the negative reviews on here. Lovely pizzas and desserts, some of the best we have eaten. Very small restaurant and slightly cramped feeling but you're there for the food. Enjoy

Quite the best pizza I can remember. Excellent choice of toppings, wonderful deep crust and delightful service. Will definitely return.

The pizza is a good neopolitan, although the dough was a bit tough and not even the best I've had in London. The atmosphere is truly dire though. It's deafeningly loud. The need some sound baffles rather than all hard surfaces. If I ever go back it would only be outside, the problem is they don't even let you book outside.

I was delighted to get a table at Napoli on the Road yesterday after reading the review. The menu looks great and the atmosphere is bustling. However the pizzas were poor. Both came with a thick outer crust were had a good fresh taste. However the base of the pizza was very thin and very soggy. The ingredient's were placed in this soggy mess which did not help bring out the flavours. To be honest it was the worst pizza I have eaten.

Went because of the hype, feared the worst after reading reviews here. Ok, so the pizza: FYI everyone, a neapolitan pizza is supposed to be soft and elastic (what you might call "sloppy") - if you want a crunchy base then you want a roman style pizza. So yes the pizza dough is very soft. The nduja and stracciatella was very good imo (fyi the straciatella is meant to be added at the end, cold otherwise it will vapourise in the oven). and the buffalo margerita also. The best? no, probably not. But still a tasty, well-made pizza - and remember we live in a time when great pizza is commonplace: 15 years ago this would have blown your mind. The starters were so so. Because of reviews I actually noted how long the pizzas took: 11 mins from ordering which was absolutely fine, good even. Staff were good. All in all it was deemed a success by 5 very fussy pizza enthusiasts. No1 in Europe? I wouldn't have said so. A really nice pizza? Yeah.

Visited recently based on title of "best pizza in the world". To sum up - small restaurant, not a very varied menu, service was slow, pizzas a bit sloppy. Child loved the Marg though - but that's always an easy one to get right.

Went on Friday and it was pretty poor. Incredibly rushed, too tight on space and the pizzas were really average. Very sloppy, you can barely pick up a slice - and we had a take away a couple of months ago after all the award hype and it wasn’t great either but thought we’d try again. It used to be delicious, best pizza’s around, but since the award things have really gone down hill which is a shame. They’re also super expensive too!

Disappointing pizzas given its reputation. The restaurant was buzzing and the staff were really good but all 4 pizzas didn’t live up to the expectations that the web site suggests.

The pizza is good, perhaps not mind blowing but the menu is creative and has a lot of uncommon options, which is great. The starter items were a mixed bag, some were delicious while others were a bit stodgy. Personally I would skip those and go straight to the pizza. We were quite full after the pizzas, I went for a tiramisu, which was delicious. It’s on the thick and creamy side, which hits the spot for me, just bear that in mind if you prefer the fluffy sort. In the pizza front, we ordered the Ricordi D’infanzia and Mediterranea pizzas. The Ricordi was delicious, lots of rich ragu and the fondue sauce was great. I perhaps missed the texture of some melted cheese but that’s preference, comes with not ordering a pizza with cheese on it. The Mediterranea was interesting, perhaps best for sharing among 4 people instead as a side? We were keen to try it since we’d seen the same style done in I Masanielli. It’s tasty but wow is the base rich thanks to being fried, don’t underestimate it! Service was prompt, pizzas were coming out quickly, the staff were attentive, was nice seeing Michele in the kitchen from the table too. I’m not a fan of having to book a table though. It just doesn’t seem like the right move for a pizza place that has people coming and going quickly. Your food arrives at your plate in a few minutes, table turnaround is naturally fast here. A chunk of tables were completely empty the whole time we were dining. I’d happily just wait for a table quite frankly, booking for 2-3 people just becomes a headache for a fast weekday meal. This hasn’t affected my review, just a small vent.

Place is super busy but we managed to get a reserved table early afternoon. Personally a full pizza is always too much for me, but that's why I would definitely recommend the small starter trio of three small pizzas with different flavours everyday courtesy of the chef. This time we got a pork and pesto, classic tomato and mozarella and bolognese sauce, they were absolutely delish alongside the other starters like the arancini. We also shared the charcuterie board with delicious focaccia bread and really nice ham. I had the (one!) non pizza main in the pasta bolognese dish, which was actually really nice but a little bit on the small side in terms of portions. Still we had a dessert to share at the end, a really nice creamy pistachio dessert which was not too heavy but filled you up all the same. Lovely service too!

PROS Wonderful food, especially the pizzas with delicious fluffy crusts and chilli oil (dip). Starter, pizzas and a shared dessert were all tasty and decent portion sizes. Reasonable prices for Chiswick. The waitress who served us had a lovely manner. Concise menu sticking to what they do best (a breath of fresh air) :) CONS The menu was incorrect: the listed cherry /Chantilly cream maritozzo was wrong - partly the reason I booked. The place is relatively small so bookings are very rigid (no lingering/relaxing). We were reminded twice about our time slot - probably because I was late. Unnecessary - I was fully aware. Really off putting. Lovely place. Would return, but certainly not on a Friday or Saturday.

Interesting menu and more tomato-free than I’ve seen. Everything was well cooked and tasty. Lots of staff and plenty of smiles. Not cheap but it is vfm: staffing and quality is expensive. Pudding essential and their limoncello cured my wife’s cold. A miracle? Booking is wise.

Managed to get a table for two after being unsuccessful in other occasions as the place is always extremely busy ( but we never booked either ! ) . I think overall the pizzas were really good , but not 5 starts pizzas. The crust is a little too wide and the centre of my pizza was very soggy ( i got the ricordi d’infanzia one ). The other pizza was much better ( cicoria and capocollo ). The staff is super friendly , Sara was lovely and quick service . We would surely go back if the prices were cheaper ( our 2 pizzas were 36 £ ) , but its just too expensive for what it really is . Other places in London have cheaper prices and the pizzas are bigger and better . We are Italian and we have experience with good food .

Pizza looked beautiful when served and taste is ok but definitely not the best pizza out there and doesn’t merit its rating of best pizza of 2023 by a long shot. Both pizzas we ordered were soggy and undercooked in the centre. All in all it’s ok, but hard to get past the mushy sogginess of it all. A true pizza napoletana is crispier and doesn’t drip off the fork like stew.

A very good pizza, nice staff and right prices. The pizza choice is non-traditional but interesting. In my modest opinion, it is a very good place, but it is not the superbest of London as I read around, but definitively in the top ones.

Staff were friendly despite a busy Friday evening. Pizza was “meh”, it was nice in that it was thin base but soggy, and way to much bread on the crust, maybe this is just the style? However having been to Crisp W6 pizza quite a few times where the pizza base is thin & crispy regardless of toppings, it confuses me how this place won the “worlds best pizza” award. Crisp W6 must’ve been too busy to apply to participate in the competition.

When we arrived we were ushered outside. It wasn’t a warm welcome. It almost felt like we were being questioned . It was in doubt if we were going to be allowed inside, even though we had a reservation. Once we were inside the atmosphere was relaxed, and a friendly waiter took our order. The menu is varied, and we had no complaints with the quality of the food. The pizza was of a high standard. However a salad we ordered was over 30 mins late in arriving. Once the delayed salad was eaten we went to order desert but were told that we weren’t allowed desert as our time was up. We insisted on desert as 3 courses were advertised, and our main had been delayed. It was reluctantly bought out but there was a lot of pressure for us to leave. The whole atmosphere was tense, and it was all very unnecessary. They are turning tables around far too quickly. If you go just order a main course as there won’t be enough time to enjoy anything else. It’s such a shame as the quality of the food is good.

Napoli on the road is rightly deserving of Pizza Maker of the Year 2023. This was hands down the best pizza we've ever eaten. The team are super friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is wonderful. And it's great value for money. We will be back again very soon!
