Found this place driving by. Looked quaint and clean and on the quiet side, which was superb for my son who struggles with noise. I sat in first waiting for our car to be parked. When my family came in the chef/owner I assume. Grabbed my pram with my daughter in and asked us to swap sides. She had already decided where we would be sitting which I found super odd for a small cafe with 1 customer in . Then we quickly realised that if you arnt a local it's league of gentleman and there's nothing for you here !!! Hash brown was the size of a thumb. Mushrooms very greasy but the rest was reasonable. We were not treated with friendly chat like the locals. When she cleared the table my partner thanked her and was completely blanked everyone . She then overcharged me by 7 pounds didn't show me the card reader or give me a balance just clicked away on her till and held out a reader for my payment. Was very condescending when it shown as failed on her reader to which I assured her it wasn't my side and it did indeed go through. 2 old dears came in to eat and the polite young server they asked if they could share a toastie as she didn't feel so hungry the woman came out and spoke to them like children and said are you buying a cake they said no and one didn't feel so well. She said because your regulars just this once the fact the server said to them ill have to check if your allowed to share we were absolutely flabbergasted. Surprised she didn't shout at me and my fella swapping food on our plates. Rip off rude and wouldn't send my NAN there ! Avoid .

Our track record tells us we find the best cafe in the area for breakfast on our last day of a break away, but a short break in the rural area of shropshire saw us reverse this trend. On the first morning of our short break, the usual flick through Google's and Trip Advisor's 'dog friendly cafes near me' returns and we were off to Nan's Cafe Bar. Dog friendly is a bit of an understatement, at one point I was wondering whether we'd get Bob (the dog) out of there; they made such a fuss of him, not to mention the gravy bones he was given (on top of usual tit bits from us. So full marks on the dog friendly, with all dogs getting a bit of the Bob treatment as they arrived; but what about the human interaction and of course the food. Despite the hidden warning that they were busy, 'Take a seat, everyone's arrived at once', front of house was soon there with Bob's treats and to take our orders. The food didn't disappoint, very tasty sausage, bacon and black pudding, and my favourite tomato option of tinned plum tomatoes (I have a thing about 'grilled tomatoes' that have never been introduced to a grill that are a lot nearer 'raw' than 'grilled'); perhaps a touch on the greasy side, but its a full English and no grease would just be wrong wrong wrong. But it was the atmosphere thatt stayed with me, friendly chat and banter with locals and visitors alike; just a nice place to be! I can't vouch for the 'Bar' element of the name, nor any further further breakfast experience, as that was our one and only visit. On checking what time they closed (Sunday) so I could make sure I got back later to sample the magnificent looking home made cake available on the counter; I was dismayed not only would they close before I was going to be in need of more sustenance due to the hugeness of the breakfast I ate, but the deeply saddening news that they don't open Mondays or Tuesdays. Yep, you guessed it, we went home Tuesday. I'm intrigued to know what goes on of an evening if it becomes a Bar, but one thing that is for certain is that should I be in the area again, I'll be in the cafe bar again.

Came to shifnal for a couple of hours while partner on business. There's currently no benches to sit on in the street as there's lots of roadworks etc, so came in to escape all the noise! Glad I did! I had a piece of Victoria sponge cake which was delicious, and an oreo milkshake, the ladies who served me are nice and friendly. The whole place has a nice friendly local / community feel to it. If you're just visiting for the day, go on pop in and try the amazing cake!

Based on recommendations, we visited Nan’s for breakfast a couple of Sundays ago. Friendly greeting and menus furnished. We both opted for Full Breakfasts - I ordered the Big one and Jill had the same with a couple of changes - plus coffees. The coffees came out quickly followed not long after by the food. Freshly cooked, piping hot, substantial plates which were delicious. Lots of toast too. Nice banter with the staff and it was another plus to find out that they are dog friendly. We enjoyed the experience so much that we called in for lunch the following week and breakfast the Sunday after Good value for money and thoroughly recommended

This is a super place to stop by. It’s big enough inside but there is some outside space if the weather permits. Claire and her team are lovely, it’s immaculately clean and covid safe so you do t need to worry there. There’s all the traditional things on the menu that you’d expect from a local cafe, plus homemade cakes- all lovely and freshly cooked. We had granary toast with avocado and poached eggs, sitting outside in the sun- very pleasant!

We called into the cafe today for the first time, it is a small cafe and had a table for 10-12 already in situ. But we were warmly welcomed and told there was a20 minute wait. I’m genuinely shocked by the reviews that claim this is expensive. All food is cooked to order and the cakes homemade, on average the food including home cooked lasagne, chicken casserole and corsage pie are £4.95. The portions are very generous and the cake is £2.95 for a triple layer homemade cake that you can easily share. We will happily return here it really is good value for money

Popped in here on my way through early Saturday morning. Ordered scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and tea. Staff were pleasant and friendly but sadly I thought the amount of salmon on the plate was a little small. I think I counted eight small slivers and nowhere near the amount I have had elsewhere. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things and wouldn't prevent me from visiting again but if you like salmon and eggs don't expect too much salmon.

We had a nice breakfast here... not sensational but tasty. Nice surroundings but not an overly warm welcome. Had a problem with their credit card machine so luckily had just enough cash to pay. Wished we’d been warned about that when we sat down... or, perhaps even more importantly, when we’d ordered (other customers had to go down the road to the cash point!). Wouldn’t rush back but, if passing, would go back again.

Very friendly small café. The menu isn't elaborate, just down to earth meals and treats. Start off the morning with their breakfast selection. Moving to lunch, much of it is homemade like a wonderful beef stew and cottage pie. If you want something lighter jacket potatoes and toasted sandwiches may be your thing. You cant go wrong with any of the cakes if you pop in later in the day though they are available all day- again all home made and can be taken away as well as eat in. Range of tea coffee milkshakes and soft drinks but its also licensed if you want a glass of wine or Becks. In summer there are tables outside too but the drawback it is on a busy road corner

I had the misfortune to get breakfast here today. I must admit it was not the most welcoming of cafe's and I almsot felt like I was intruding. Maybe is was because I was in my workwear and did not fit the clientele criteria!I asked for a bacon and egg bap and was sgarply told that they only do sandwiches and not baps. "Ok" I said "I'll have the sandwich".The bacon was way undercooked and I had a tea and a coffee with it too. The price bearing in mind this was a take out and not an eat in came to £7.80. I could have had two full English breakfasts at other places for that price. Absolutely shocking and a total rip off. Never would I go here again. Rip off prices for undercooked food!
