Nando's Stoke Newington in Hackney

Of all the Nando's branches, this one was the most insufferable. The restaurant was dirty, super dirty. I don't think customers who are disrespectful, don't have manners and leaves the restaurant worse than they found it should be allowed in for a second time, even at the cost of corporate greed. I feel sorry for the staff who have to clean dirty tables and floors and then served food to new customers with the same hands without wearing disposable gloves. Talking about staff, they are tired, unmotivated and rude - probably because that's the treatment they receive from their manager. In a culture where the staff are treated like the most valuable assets, they'll treat customers like royalty. But for this restaurant, that's not the case. They sell ice cream but don't have proper spoon for ice cream. The smallest spoon they have is for drinking soup. The food was a menace - small portion, burnt, and the garlic bread went through some kind of existential crisis. The food took forever to arrive which disrupted my day plans. I have to be very desperate to be able to make a second trip to this branch again.

Very friendly staff and food was great. Had my extended family visiting from Italy and we decided to give it a go. They were made comfortable and the assistant manager was fantastic 👍🏾

We were served by Aneta who went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. We arrived quite close to closing time, but she welcomed us in and treated us so well. The food was, as always very good, which made for an amazing visit all round.

There has been quite a difference in the quality of food since last year. The last two times I visited this year, some chicken pieces looked overly burned, which was not the case before (I think the previous griller has left). Also, they are not serving their iconic fries any more! They serve lower quality fries now, which is the same quality as that of a take-away fried chicken shop. Such a shame that the quality of their food has been declining so much in such a short time.

I ordered from Deliveroo on the evening of 7/2/25. Not only was it extremely late, but two items were missing and I was told by Deliveroo customer service that I would not be refunded, despite sending photo evidence to show I didn't receive what I ordered, but something else instead. Terrible service.

Standard nando's. The service and quality you've come to expect. Can't fault it so 5 starts for that reason.

It's a Nando 's, so you know what the food is going to be like; but the staff were pleasant and the tables were clean. Food was quick, hot and as good as usual.

Overly complicated ordering process and freezing cold - please turn the heating on, it’s January! Food was fine and staff were very good.

Fatima was really unprofessional. Her passive aggressive attitude isn’t a good look for this restaurant. I come here regularly with my boyfriend & his family. The other manager (European tall lady) is lovely I’m not sure what her name is. Disappointing service today. I also heard her talking about us to her colleague?? Made me feel very uncomfortable. She was also shouting at her staff. This needs to be looked into

Been here a couple of times and Yash has been there each time. He's very efficient and kind and always helpful! Also can't go wrong with a nandos and the new fanta chicken is great!

This is a great Nando’s! The staff are very friendly, the food was quick, and it has a nice atmosphere. The manager was very nice and made sure we had a nice meal.

Everything was awful staff manager had attitude and served me chicken with the butt still on it only noticed when I left!!!, I had an extremely horrid belly ache after eating here absolutely outrageous, DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SICK!

Staff was rude and was laughing when asked for coleslaw to be removed she refused to apologise till the manager made her and made my whole experience unbearable

What's there to complain about. It's Nandos, it hit the spot, the place was clean and service was friendly and quick.

todays visit to nando’s was not what i expected. the staff were lovely, our food came out very quickly and everyone was very friendly and welcoming, except the manager FATIMA. from the moment we sat down we had to endure Fatima absolutely berating her team members saying they weren’t good enough for the duration of our entire meal, baring in mind we were there for over an hour. she was extremely loud and disrespectful towards them, and considering the nando’s is already very small, i don’t think it was appropriate to have such serious (and harsh) conversations with your staff in front of guests.

So this Nando’s used to be great and then we came across Alda or Alsa Elsa I think her name was. Here is what happened, strap in! I normally order my food from deliveroo and because they don’t do the wild herb sauce in sachets any more and they only have them in the bottles. I usually call ahead and ask them to put it into a small pot and send it with my order. Every single time the staff are more than happy to do so and it’s greatly appreciated. So Elsa lads or Alsa, not quite sure what her name was, on this occasion says that it’s company policy not to do this. So considering every colleague of hers over the last year or so has been more than happy to do so to keep customers happy to do so and give fantastic customer service and satisfaction, she seems to think that it’s “company policy” not to do so. She subsequently told me that she was the manager. This is a perfect example of when you give the wrong person the wrong job … I got an extreme whiff of the power has gone to her head. I really wanted to say to her “you are a manager at Nando’s you are not a chairwoman at a large global organisation, calm down”. However I kept it polite and professional. I think some retraining here is urgently required.

I can't speak for all nandos but the Stoke Newington branch is the only branch I go to. The service is fast, Excellent and the food done just right. Definitely recommend

A pleasant street and a nice building with wood interior, service was great and the food was delicious and with a Nandos points card a free meal for two today and that was excellent.

It's very much a nandos. Delivers exactly as you'd expect. Good option if you're out on church street with a larger group or children as there is more space in there for luggage or push chairs than you'd find in the cafes surrounding it. Disabled toilet v accessible.

Lovely Nando’s in the heart of Stoke Newington. The food is in full nando’s style - so the usual. The decor of this restaurant is quite nice and the atmosphere super chilled.

Very rude staff unfortunately, especially the black woman with coloured hair extensions, clearly discriminating against the people with lighter complexion. No customer service whatsoever. Disappointing experience in this day and age.

Hands down worst nandos I've ever had, ordered a fully loaded wrap, was literaly just chicken sauce and lettuce, no avocado or pickled red onion or any of the other extras. Staff were also arguing and order took 20 minutes rather than the 10 stated, awful.

Really, how can you not notice the overload that has been present in this place for a long time, beautiful people work as hard as they can, but they don't have ten hands to serve everyone on time. How come no one has realized yet and HIRED MORE EMPLOYEES!!!! I personally saw poor sweaty employees who couldn't keep up, a terrible experience, there should have been 3 more people and maybe it would have been easier. shame and disgrace nandos

Had a beautiful sunset burger, with some halloumi sticks as a starter, enjoyed this very much. Service is always good from Shakira, serving with a smile. £26 for only two starters and a burger and wrap, is a bit pricey but it’s what is expected when you live in this country.

To be honest i hardly write a a lot of reviews but this one I had to write today was my mums birthday and we decided to go to Nando’s oh boy the wait was horrible i know they tell you it will take 10-20 minutes but it felt like a hour when the food came out it was good expect for the salad and chicken which was burnt- also customer service here is atrocious they don’t give u your table quickly also the staff is a bit slow but I understand it’s a tiring job.

Delivered boneless chicken thighs were way overcooked, dry and so blackened we had to throw at least half of it out

The service from some of the staff was awful. There were dirty tables and the staff member didn’t take initiative to clean it and when told didn’t do a good job. She looked half asleep. The order had missing items in it and had to go back to the restaurant twice to rectify. The floor was really dirty too. When the kitchen staff was making my Mac and cheese she picked up the cheese with no gloves 🤢 The service has really dropped not sure what has happened.

Came in with some friends for a quick bite. Food took a bit longer than expected and we asked for an update to a floor member. They came with our food one by one, but some sides missing. The floor member was nice and apologised for the wait. Food came out piping hot and nice :) pitta bread with halloumi and chicken, fries and veg made me full after a bouldering session :)

Lovely experience this evening in store! The lady who took our order Kyra was patient and waited while we decided on our orders and was extremely helpful

Always treated lovely here. Even when somethings not quite right , which is rare, the staff go far and beyond to make it right. Amazing customer service. Well done lovelies- good customer service is hard to come by nowadays 🫶 so keep it up. 😊

First time there and customer service was on point from ordering at till to waiting for food. Food was good chicken came off bone, mash was creamy and coleslaw was good. Will be back. Keep up the good work guys👏🏾👍🏾

I came here with My familiy and orderd some food. And i was wating for the food for 35 minutes when the food came it was burnt and dry. So they took the food and told us that they will come back with some new food that was fresh and worm but it tasted awful and the rice wasn’t cooked well enough. When I ate the rice some hard thing kept coming in my mouth. We paid 150 pounds. And the service wasn’t that great as well. The 150 pounds was a waste of money and time here😡

Every time I visit Nando’s on Stoke Newington high street, the service is great, food arrives in a decent time. The facilities are always clean and presentable. Great little spot for a quick evening meal with friends or family.

I enjoyed my visit here, a good branch. Food better than some other branches. Will return if I’m visiting this area again. 👍

Never understood the fuss about Nando’s. Very friendly service though and the kids all ate their food.

We ordered for take away but it was nice and warm inside when we picked it up so we asked to stay. The waitress was more than accommodating and much to our surprise they re heated our food and gave us fresh chips. Chicken was spot on as usual but the service was impeccable on this occasion. Thank you!

Great music, great food but what say that one of their staff shouldn't impose that their customers should have religious beliefs and pray because the colour of their skin.

Awful service. Waited about waiting to be seated, normally someone would greet you at any other Nandos. Told by the guy behind the till to wait, his colleague steps in to help, and he more or less is batted away by the first colleague, telling me to wait again - four staff behind the counter and only me waiting to be seated. I walked out and went to the great Spence Bakery instead and had great service and food.

I've gone here quite often and each time is different, depends on who's working. This time I had to wait more than 5 minutes just to put in my order and the chicken was not really as hot as I'd like it.

The service was absolutely poor... Don't get me wrong, there were a few members of staff that were helpful and tried their best to give us great customer service. But the fact that half of our food came out, whilst the other half was still sat waiting to be brought to our table was absolutely ridiculous. Once the food came, it was nice - I mean it is nandos

Sadly the store loses points because of the negative attitude of the so called supervisor Reece. Apparently its ok for staff to eat customers food when its on the line and to play with their hair while standing over food. I brought my concerns directly to the 1st assistant Aneta, however even she has issues relaying this important information to her team. Clearly this young, impressionable young lad Reece feels that he is the store manger and of value. He berated me for being honest and became confrontational in front of patrons. Hopefully he will learn as all of the evidence should be on the store cctv footage and I've submitted an official complaint. When will these young adults learn that with a little bit of respect, hygiene skills, patience and a clean concious they would go a long way.

Bad service at Stroud Green Nando’s so I thought I’d give Church Streets branch a go, as I’ve always had good service and food here! But again unfortunately slack customer service upon arrival and burnt chicken, which I complained about so the manager took it back reluctantly and said they’ll make another one which they did, however they brought back the same sides which were cold! So didn’t eat my meal which I was actually looking forward to as I hadn’t eaten all day. Again I must say Nando’s has definitely gone down hill. And I won’t be going back.

Food mehhh, wings had soft skin, butterfly was dry, broccoli overcooked…mash was nice. Service was good. No liver on the menu, thought all locations had same menu…guess not…wouldn’t go back much better food at Covent Garden’s.

The friendliest staff I’ve encountered in a Nandos branch. Special mention to Andy who was great from the moment we walked in the door. 10/10 service and the food was great, hot and full of flavours.

A young mixed race woman on the co-ordination section behind the till was eating and sucking food off her fingers whilst putting plates together. Put me off ordering whilst standing in line. Informed the manager who then told her to go and wash her hands which is why I have put 2 stars instead of 1. Really unacceptable and unhygienic, I was watching her do this and she was un phased and gave me looks as if i was staring at her for no reason, I thought overtly watching her would be an incentive to stop but she just questioned her manager as to why afterwards

Staff left my food waiting serving other table, I was only on my own. I waiting for 25 minutes to ask about my food it was then dressed in sauce and served to me. I gave up and left. I had noticed that a previous worker was there supervisor since the past two years from Poland she now seems uncaring and unhelpful towards service although everything was running behind on a Monday evening at 6:30p As I waited for my food employees were out the back whist my chicken remind on stand for 15 minutes. After receiving my food drenched in uncooked sauce received by the waiter look ok 2 mins later asking after a 25 minute wait I then did not receive one of my side orders. The service was very bad. How can I send my photos of this please? Most staff were standing about seeming not knowing what to do. As people were waiting for there orders staff were laughing at the back and upstairs. Hygiene was to nothing. Knifes and folks very very dirty.

They accepted my order but never delivered the food. I had to call head office to get a refund. Waste of time!!!!

Cannot fault their service. Everyone who attended to us was excellent!!!! Food was nice and hot including chips. The children all wanted water so I got water cups but one child decided to take a drink with the water glass. I reported myself to their cashier and offered to pay for the drink and cashier was really lovely and said not to worry about it. Obviously scolded the child. We also sat near the door and every time the door opened we shivered but it was lovley food and very family friendly. The staff was jist so patient and lovely.

The toilets are on the second floor, the toilet tissue was on the ground and there was a very bad smell.
