I ordered lasagne, it came warm outside but cold in the middle and I ate a bit of it before realising and then they heated it. And today I have food poisoning !

Great discovery. This restaurant/café/coworking area is very cosy and well decorated. If you need a place to work or chill, go there without a doubt!!

Absolutely awful. The girl working there was nice, but the whole cafe was a mess. Everything's dirty, the guy running the place was a mess too. The coffee quality was awful too.

We were really let down by our recent visit. Before heading over, we called to check if they are pet friendly (cause we have dog). The owner joked over the phone, saying as long as our pet wasn't an elephant, it was fine. But when we got there and ordered, he came over and rudely said big dogs weren't allowed, referring back to his elephant joke. We ended up not eating there. It's frustrating when places don't stick to what they say and treat customers poorly.

Bad experience. Called ahead to see if they allowed pets, the owner said: “as long as it’s not an elephant”. But when we arrived and ordered, he rudely said big dogs weren't allowed and we should eat and leave the place. We decided not to eat there. This was very disappointing so definitely not coming back

It's rare to find such a perfect co-working space with excellent food and drink and interesting soundtracks! Amy and Harlam are amazing baristas who provide friendly, attentive service and really contribute to the relaxed vibes of the place! If there could be more vegan lunch options, Franze Hackney would be EVEN better!

Great coffee and lovely staff except from the older guy with white hair and glasses who works there, who is a very stressful energy who clearly micromanages his staff and causes them to feel anxious when they're around him -- leave them to do their job and trust that they're doing great work! This is why I give 3 stars for 'atmosphere' which is a real shame :(

Your menu online for this branch says you serve food (hot, cooked food, not the items left on the counter all day) until 3:30pm but on enquiring apparently the kitchen closes at 1pm and that is disappointing service to me.

My partner and I came to the cafe for the second time after enjoying our coffee here the other day. Last time we bought oat latte's, this time usual milk latte's. The coffee tasted bitter, sour even, the milk tasted gone off, it tasted really bad with a lasting after taste so I told the two people serving that the coffee was bitter and if I could please change them for oat milk latte's. The guy said I can exchange then tried to charge me £2.95 for a whole other coffee in exchange to which I responded that I had already paid £5,95 so it would only be oat milk I need to pay for. I don't know why he tried to charge us another coffee for a simple exchange if there was something wrong with the coffee. The lady who made the original latte's made the oat milk latte's and gave it to me clearly offended that i took the coffee back with no smile, negativity and a cold stare. It was not personal to her skills of coffee making that i returned it, the milk tasted gone off so of course i wanted to switch. I was not happy with either of this reluctant service to simply change my coffee, I know the taste of milk when it has gone bad. The oat latte's given also tasted like a shared shot between both coffees as we could not taste the coffee. It did not wake us up, taste like coffee or like the first time we came. We went on to continue our work, drank our coffee, to look up and see the both of them were talking between themselves staring over at us. This felt like a we were being talked about in offence because we changed the coffee. This type of immature behaviour is unnaceptable, it should not be taken personally if something is wrong with a coffee and needed changing, let alone to congregate and clearly be talking about us as customers. We originaly felt this is a comfortable environment to work, eat and drink, we are yet to try the food menu which we looked forward to trying. Although after this we don't wish to come back. Things will sometimes go wrong with coffee making and to simply exchange and continue would be the service that shoud be given, not this level of immaturity.

Popular in the area, especially with the young upwardly mobile of today. Although a limited menu, what's on offer is pleasing to the eye and tasty. The prime driver is it is a mobile work area and food spot.

Whilst looking for somewhere to eat with my family after my son's football class in London Fields I was delighted to find another Franze and Evans has just opened in Mare Street Studio's. The space is amazing, large enough for families and plenty of space to cater for prams and children. We also had a small dog with us which was no problem and space was very comfortable with large sofa's to lounge on too. From little ones to grandparents all our tastes were catered for with the same great signature food and cakes that you can find on Redchurch Street, Cremer St and in Bow. This is definitely a great place to check out and one to keep on your radar.

We had an excellent meal in this new addition to the are. I had the trecolore, the poached egg was done to perfection and love having spinach as well as smoke salmon at the same time! There is a promotional deal on so we were compelled to try the dessert and we were not disappointed. I thought the croissant pudding was an absolute delight. Would love to return and try the other dishes.

Notting Hill lacks in grown- up, cool places where one can set an informal business meeting, meet a friend for coffee (out of the ghastly coffee chains that are around) , or have a great cocktail with your partner before heading to a restaurant. This hotel lounge and bar could be all this… but despite opening only a few weeks ago, It was 3/4 empty at 7.30pm yesterday. There is too much harsh lighting; not enough sofas, too many high tables. Despite an interesting attempt to evoke the Caribbean origins of post- war Notting Hill, and its famous carnival, design overall feels artificial, because of some details that are truly bad. Mainly these are the “fake distress” aspect of too much of the furniture which drags the whole into cheap artificiality. If you do distress, do it with real, beautiful distressed old stuff - there are lots to find in galleries, flee markets etc but the cheap chemically done items are a no if one wants to create ‘ an atmosphere’.It is baffling to see that with probably the big budgets such hotel “brands” have, they don’t get it right despite good intentions. Bottom line this huge space lounge and bar looks like a lost opportunity for the place to bring in Notting Hillers who would help making this place a nice hub. This would probably delight the hotel guests and makes it a real destination hotel. But perhaps it is not too late for them to fine tune it- so that the neighbourhood does not have to cope with a huge slightly desolate and bright non place!

I stayed at this location, and the service from the team was priceless – everyone was so friendly and happy to help. Breakfast was fantastic! The only downside was a strange smell in the corridors, but the manager informed me that the hotel will be refurbished soon and assured me that next time, I’ll be staying in brand-new rooms. Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I’ll definitely be back!
