Nando's Newport - Friars Walk in Newport

I am not keen on this restaurant; however, my son and grandson love it.

Kept us waiting for 45 minutes to have a meal. Unacceptable. However the service was friendly.

Terrible delivery experience for a birthday meal. There were missing items on the order. I rang to request that the missing items be delivered asap but was told they will send me a refund. If I wanted my missing items I would have to reorder them on the app! This would also mean paying another delivery charge. Very disappointed and ruined a birthday surprise.

Delicious food would definitely be back ...Served by an incredible young lady Niamh who was so lovely welcoming chatty and took time to explain everything...Look after this young lady she is a little gem

It tempts me to visit every time I cross this place. Always the chicken is juicy, tastier and fresh. Never felt disappointed. Always fascinated and motivated by the way the gals and boys carry plates and glasses, running table to table. The gals always carry a welcoming smile. The reception had always been great. Keep it up Nando's, thanks to everyone over here. You always receive us with smiles, well of course, the boys have to learn from gals. 😂 Thank you Nando's.

Quality service, selection and food

Food is not bad. Delivery service is so ridiculous. Staff have non serious attitude. It takes 30 minutes to give 1 deal which did not make any sense. Not worthy to visit next time.

Nando's Newport- Friars Walk is actually an excellent alternative regardless of where you come from, you must see a menu that can make you fit in. I was excellently surprised.

The best tasting nandos by far, had a lovely staff member called Tyler who served myself and my boyfriend. Highly recommend!

Usually have Nando’s in Cardiff which hasn’t ever been that great, So popped to Newport for a change. The food was really nice and loaded with chip’s which was great. Just stack the plate with chips it costs nothing and brings people back. Pet hate a tight portion of chips 😡lol

Friendly and quick service food is out of this world I tried the mac n cheeses and the new cheese chips with chicken it was out of this world filled me up.

One of the best nandos I’ve been too around the uk in my opinion foods cooked well and is so fast quicker than McDonald’s like it’s incredible.

Been here 3 times recently for takeaway 1st time. Came back after agreed time to be told didn't have my food, and would take 40 more minutes, and an alternative would take 20. Went for the alternative, they surely could have checked in the first instance and known they didn't have what I wanted and taken 40 mins at that point.... pretty shoddy 2nd time. Ordered, checked they had what I ordered, available this time(I had learnt) was told all in stock, no need to worry. had no sauce's annoying as part of reason I came to nandos was the sauces. Got home part of meal missing, called to arrange replacement, can't deliver, so took a voucher for missing part.(see 3rd for how helpful this was..) and ordered from KFC for missing part. 3rd time, ordered, tried to use voucher code, told it's not possible to use via walk up, manager couldn't do anything about it, (maybe give your management the ability to deal with the terrible service....) got embarrassed so just paid for the food, should have just walked out... Since this I have asked for a useable voucher or refund, if I get a voucher I will just give it away as so fed up with being disappointed with this terrible excuse for a restaurant. Either way I doubt I will ever visit a nandos ever again. Let's see if I ever get an apology for their useless service. --- Update, canned response from nandos, thanks for so little.. not the managers fault, he can do anything for the specific situation, as his hands are tied, obviously not creating the problem at the store level would help, but that isn't going to happen any time soon..

Visited for lunch today had the rainbow bowl with extra hot plant based strips. So delicious. Super quick too, hot and fresh. Staff were lovely and friendly. Will def come back

2/5 mainly due to the "loaded fries" I say that loosely. The main reason for Nandoes was to try the loaded fries, and was just mega disappointed. But I'll get to that at the end. Sunset Burger: Absolutely lovely, and tasty. Around £8.95 on its own I believe, and then instead of going for the sides we opted for the loaded fries as another dish instead. The burger as a stand alone item would be 5/5. Loaded fries: Don't get fooled by advertisement. It was £8, and I tasted £5 too much. Firstly the loaded element, which was hard to find any chicken it claimed to have in, I think I counted around 3 strands. And then alot of the loaded, is very central, so you feel there is no flavour else where. The main issue is the flavour/taste, the only way to describe it, is it tasted like the old mini oven pizzas I used to have when I was younger. The taste was identical to that pizza, which was so odd to have that cheap oven pizza taste on chips. It didn't have any unique flavours, or any spice. We had to drown it in hot sauce, to then get Hot Oven Pizza flavour. Honestly I wouldn't recommend it at all, it's not worth disappointing yourself for £8. Stick to what you know, and get the usual with 2 normal sides. And stay away from the odd flavours loaded fries. Shame!

All round excellent experience; haven’t been to Nando's much, but this visit has solidified a future of many more. The food was spectacular, and quick service ensured freshness throughout the entire meal; with every flavour bursting mouthful a rush of dopamine and enveloped me. When I had any questions, my waitress Jasmine Bailey, was always there quickly ready to listen and quickly resolve anything. She made conversation with me and her friendly mannerism made me feel instantly comfortable, this continued throughout my entire stay and cannot be faulted. Not sure if the name of my chef but the highest of compliments also. Will be reccomending a visit to all friends and family, and don’t doubt I’ll be there too, as I cannot wait to visit here again. Fully satisfied 10/10. Sound

Cheap, cheerful, good food cant really ask for much else not my closest Nando's but would prefer to come to this one as never an issue.

AMAZING service but the food was the worst I’ve ever had at Nando’s. It was as if the chef had never cooked before and was completely unfamiliar with Nando’s dishes. Everything was soggy and the components of the pita/burger were cold as well as the sides.

A group of friends and I recently stopped off at Nando's for a celebration meal of sorts following a truly arduous day. Exhausted and in need of a meal, we'd opted for Nando's as one of us had some dietary restrictions, and we could not have been more delighted with our service and the quality of the food. The perfect table for our party, which we were seated at almost immediately without a booking. An incredible selection of food of which we sampled a wide array of from starters, platters, mains and sides, a little bit of everything. I personally had the chicken pitta with broccoli tenderstem, peri chips, and halloumi fries and not only was every single piece delicious, I left feeling full - but not bloated - at an incredible price. Tyler served us and I hope his manager realises what an asset he is to the staff. He guided us through a rather hectic large order, worked carefully with the dietary allergies, and made what would have otherwise been awkward adjustments to the food seamlessly, ensuring all five of us had our food exactly how we wanted it. Despite the size of the order, he handled it incredibly efficiently while ringing it up and our starters and mains all arrived at the perfect times (incredibly quickly I might add, kudos to the kitchen staff). I've certainly worked with colleagues in the past who would've turned the situation into a nightmare! He was polite and welcoming but also friendly and chatty, with an attitude that implied he in fact enjoyed his job and was more than happy to make our dining experience the best it could be. Absolutely the kind of gent you'd just go to the pub for a pint with and a top-notch customer service rep. Nando's has previously always been a middle of the road option for me, but I can't recall many times in my life I've had better service than I did tonight and I'll be sure to visit more often as a result. 10/10, not a single complaint. Food was immaculate, service was quick and efficient, price was unbelievably good for such incredible food, atmosphere and seating was brilliant, and the toilets were pristine. I do believe there was meant to be some kind of online portal mentioned when I inquired about leaving a review, but I couldn't locate one on the receipt so am leaving one here in lieu! Amazing work from the team.

This has to be the worse experience at Nando's in many years! I am writing this review on the same evening when we visited the restaurant. Please bare in mind, that we visited the restaurant at 9.10pm and there were 3 sets of family ONLY. Ellisha, a blond young girl, the waiter, seated us at a table with attitude, but didn't think much of it. We then ordered food and Ellisha, forgot to add a beer to the order, which was fine at first, then our food sat on their hot plate station for over 15 minutes. We approached the staff and the gentleman behind the counter apologised, so we returned the food back as it was cold, on top of that Ellisha forgot the coleslaw and to be honest, she wasn't really bothered and never apologised. We complained to the Manager, Curtis, and he apologised to us and refunded us the difference. He offered us the loaded chips FOC, and to be honest, he was polite but didn't bother acknowledging us when leaving restaurant. We sensed discrimination but probably didn't want to admit it. I wouldn't recommend this particular restaurant to anyone, but if you do visit, then avoid the waiter, Ellisha!!!!

Recent trend of staff not communicating when they don't have an item on the menu, twice I have been there and they changed my order without letting me know and didn't take responsibility for it. I only found out when I had gotten home on both occassions.

Never have to queue to get in.but like all other nandos, perfectly cooked chicken wraps and breasts. And their coleslaw is the bomb 😋

Delicious food and the peri peri sauces are a dream! We order the complete chicken and the portions were amazing! The staff was always nice and really helpful!

This Nando’s is really nice inside and has a great atmosphere (most Nando’s are really nice inside anyway) I’ve always had a good time whenever I go and eat in this Nando’s and the garlic bread is the best around and that is not arguable

Nando's is always great, the restaurant was very busy and there were lots of large orders coming in. However despite this the food was run over as soon as possible and was all hot and fresh. The manager was also very kind in coming over to apologise for any delay, all the staff were kind and very willing to help with anything we needed. Was very good atmosphere, everyone was happy and there to have a good time. Can't get enough of the Halloumi fries and chilli jam and the chicken is always brilliant.

Great food and good service. Place is looking a bit tired and is in need of a refresh. Furnature is rustic by design but it's looking pretty worn out in placed.

It is GOOD! More people should go there. The food is DA BEST. I LIKE DA CHICKEN. The personnel are friendly, I'd like to be there boss/manager because they are so friendly. The only thing I don't like is the worn-down seats. :)

Probably the best service from a Nandos ever...proper busy but managed to get 7 of us seated, long complicated order but zero mistakes and food came out quickly. All staff were awesome, especially Elisha 👍😃

Great food, great location, great staff and great room temperature. Although one complaint i do have is that the mens urinals have no at all. This is especially dangerous for children. No boards inbetween no nothing. Apart from that it's great.

The people were nice but the service with refill cups to come to the table took 40 minutes. Then the desserts came really cold was expecting it warm but idk I wouldn’t come for that again

Great visit, food was lovely, served in good time and it was piping hot. Only downside is that it always seems cold in there no matter where you sit.

The worse nandos service we ever had. disgrace. We as a family, lover nandos, but that branch was the worse and we will never back there again.

I love going to Nandos and yesterday was a treat night for myself and my partner.. we were waiting just a little over 30 mins for our meal while others had been given their meals, when we did eventually have our food.. part of our order was incorrect, chips were warm-cold , their was only a child's portion of chips and possibly one or two table spoons of rice.. Chips were over cooked, or left for a while.. I'm not one to moan but I shared my disappointment with the manager (who was really empathetic about our evening) she offered us extras, and puddings which was kind - but the night was already spoilt by the waiting time where their wasn't even anyone in the restaurant.. it just took the spark off the wholw evening which resulted in us just eating a slightly warm-cold meal. This is a local Nandos for us, so I will go back just this once and hopefully things will be much different.

Gluten Free - amazing experience!! My family went to Nando’s in Newport yesterday, 2 are gluten free. They offered the GF options straight away, made sure the chefs knew, washed the prep area before handling the food and when it came was delicious!! Real care and attention by all.

Terrible! Food came last week which was cold! We’ve now placed an order online which was 1hour 20 mins ago and still nothing!! I’ve called the restaurant to be told they close in 2 mins and it’s an issue with Deliveroo and not us. DISGUSTING DONT BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME

Just very disappointed in the service in Newport, I've been to many Nando`s but this has by far been the worse.

Does not even deserve 1 star. Ordered a wrap and fries and a drink, took 20 minutes for someone to come to our table to say that the order is glitched in the system, I wanted a refund as it wasn’t really acceptable, waited 5 more mins for them to come to the table with the food in the hand. Before all of this, my friend who was with me got given a dirty glass as well and had to ask for a replacement, Certainly won’t be coming back to this restaurant

where do I began very slow service had to keep asking staff for stuff wait time for the food was ridiculous and they wasn't even busy chicken was very dry manager was not helpful didn't seem bothered staff just had no clue what tables where who's very very disappointed would definitely not recommend very over priced worst food place I've been to never left a restaurant feeling so hungry had to get food on my way home won't be back again . If your looking for better chicken honestly go to weatherspoons in cwmbran so much nicer and better quality food nothing else to say very very awful service and slow if there was option they would have zero stars

I have “tried” to go to this restaurant on several occasions but always get turned away even though there are loads of empty tables. They always say there is ridiculous wait time because they are understaffed or the kitchen is too busy. Make sure you book if you want to go.

I had so much fun at Nando's. It gave me that afro vibe with the interior and the subtle music. The staff were very pleasant and wanted to make sure we were okay. The food was really delicious and very filling! It was worth it. Very clean and cool environment. Great staff. Tasty meal. I'll visit again and again and again. Thank you Nando's!

Excellent service staff very friendly and welcoming

Couldn't fault anything from today's visit. The manager was so accommodating and did an excellent job to provide customer service. The restaurant was incredibly clean to my amazement, food was served quickly and cooked to perfection. Absolutely will return. Great job.

small menu. cosy place. food OK. reasonable price. Quick service. try their home made lasagne with garlic bread. Delicious! we visit few times a week. always busy, a tip - - they serve food until 1-30, so get there early!

Arrived to see at least 10 tables empty. We’re told to join the virtual queue even though at least half the restaurant was empty. Meanwhile click and collect orders were invited to sit inside in the warm whilst they waited for their ordered. What they should’ve done is allowed us stood out in the cold to sit at an empty table and explain there was a wait on food (as they prioritised takeaway) Once seated everything was as a normal Nando’s.

They wasted 40 minutes of our time and we couldn’t even get food…appalling!

Not bad but it's just chicken so hard to get wrong. Took a star off as you basically do everything yourself. Zero interaction with staff except for the person who brought it to the table without saying anything.

Disgusted that I had to ask 3 times for new cutlery as we were given dirty knives and forks twice. Food from the last users were still left on the knives which is appalling. Ive been to many, many resteraunts in South Wales pre and post-lockdown and I have never been given such grotesque cutlery, and you did it twice in one sitting. Apart from that, standard nandos food which you'll get at literally any nandos. We wont be returning here for sure. P.s. Cheers to the owner for only being lazy enough to answer good reviews. Sort your cutlery out, its disgusting.

Got to be honest, never really been a Nando's fan. But we promised a family member we'd take them there for a belated birthday. Food was decent, service was great and really nice to not have to wear masks and all that nonsense. Would probably visit again

Had a Lush meal here today staff are all lovely and the ordering on the app was easy and food came out fast. All round great place will be back. Quick tip ensure you have a nandos account in order to order the food on the app before you go
