Nando's Leeds - The Light in Leeds

Run of the mill Nandos, except this one doesn't have pepper - imagine that - an entire restaurant with no pepper 🙃

The staff here are wonderful - really welcoming and friendly, offering all the help you could need with the menu. There’s some good seating too, and the booths along the side wall are spacious and comfortable for a number of people. Food was served in good time and wasn’t stingy with the portion size. It was a shame the hottest sauce options weren’t available in bottles for the table but at least everywhere was spotlessly clean. It was a cold day when we visited so it’s a nice touch that they’ve installed a hatch in the window for Deliveroo and similar drivers, preventing the front door being constantly opened! A good example in the chain and I’d happily return.

The best Nando’s in Leeds by far. No doubt.

First time going, and really impressed. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Got served our food within 10 tens each time. Pipping hot cooked well and overall really good. Would happily recommend.

Called in here today for lunch. The staff were very polite and friendly. I ordered a Mediterranean Salad and Chicken which was delicious. The chicken was very tender and tasty and the salad was of a generous portion and very fresh. The next time I'm in Leeds I will return and perhaps order something different from a wide choice on their menu. I will definitely recommend this place.

Came here through the week. Great food, fast service and very attentive staff. Toni was the member of staff dealing with us, she could not have been more helpful. Will be returning.

Pretty good as far as Nando’s go, hot and tasted freshly cooked. The manger served us and she was lovely.

This particular Nandos is the best in Leeds and it's majorly because they have great service. I have eaten with my family and friends 3 times at this Nandos restaurant and all 3 times, I was never disappointed by their service. They are welcoming, warm and understand what good service means to a customer. While I have had a very terrible experience with the Nandos restaurant at Trinity Leeds due to terrible service and rude attendants, the Nandos at The Light Leeds, is the only reason I would still consider dinning at Nandos again. Well done to the Nandos team of The Light Leeds. I am giving 4 stars because the toilet was not smelling fresh enough and the hand dryer did not work when I last visited. They seemed to be short-staffed on the day so that may be the reason. Other than that, great job by the kitchen staff and attendants. Well done to the Manager there too. Please go to this Nandos by all means, try to avoid the one in Trinity.

Nandos are usually consistent nationwide but a couple of chips were still frozen - all good otherwise though!

Second time hitting up Nandos in Leeds. The food always tasty, really good, there was nothing left on my plate. The service was 23 minutes to the main course as it was busy and it was overly uncomfortable and noisy due to parents of children allowing the children to run around dangerously and without restraint. The food great the staff good the guests not so good. Apart from that this is a super place but I'll avoid Saturdays and Sundays

Halal Nandos! Everything was exceptionally well

Came in on Sunday 13th when I was taking mi daughter to the Cinema and was greeted by Stuart. The last time I came in was around 3 months before with my brother in law. Stuart actually remembered me from the last time I came and even remembered some of the things we talked about. When it comes to customer service,you can't top that. What a genuinely top bloke and a credit to your company.If you have some kind of way you recognise service,I cannot endorse Stuart enough.Coming from a customer service background,I know how hard it can be to come across employees like this.Keep up the good work.Fabulous.

It is an excellent restaurant, all the dishes are available, the taste is delicious and there is no mistake, the service is fast and excellent, and the food is served in large quantities per person, enough for two people. It is worth eating in 👍🏻

Poor food poor service waited over 50 minutes for a butterfly burger then it came out with wrong order then waited another 20 minutes for my food and then didn't come with any chips won't be going there again.

Very good branch of Nandos with helpful, friendly staff. My daughter wanted a Birthday meal there and they accommodated special requests, stored, lit and brought out the cake and even sung happy birthday.

I had an amazing experience at the light Nando’s. Edie Fernandes made us feel very welcome he directed us too our table and pointed me in the direction of the toilets. Will definitely come back to this specific branch made my Nando’s experience a pleasant one.

By far the best Nandos I’ve been to and I’ve been coming to various over the last 15 years. I’d go out of my way to go to the Nandos at the Light because they’re always stocked up on menu options, the food is consistently tasty, sauces are plentiful and always topped up. The staff are definitely different to others I’ve experienced - super friendly and genuinely care about the customers. I’ll keep coming - thanks guys. (Ps the server for table 7 at approx 22:30 was great - fantastic attitude and superb service, credit to the company - didn’t get a name but short hair/bald and a big beard :) )

Staff are rude. The table was filthy when we sat at it, food was being brought out to God knows how many tables and it was the WRONG TABLE every time! Our food was brought to us twice! We never got our drinks we had to go and ask for them. The staff themselves seem like they couldn't be bothered to be there, the majority of them were rude and looked miserable. I was still eating and my partner had just finished a women came over and took the plate which in hospitality is a big no no if the rest of the party haven't finished. Food wasn't upto Nando's usual standard, garlic bread and chips cold, our sides were missing. The lady who I guess is the manager looked so stressed I actually felt sorry for her! She could not apologize enough to people for the mix up with their food. Its not her fault!

So I went there with my 2 kids, we order a whole chicken platter. the chips was old, and the chicken had a funny smell to it. The lady that brung us the food was not very nice and didn’t talk to us. we asked her to bring us some forks and knives and she brung it to us. She put the utensil on the table in a very very rude manner we wanted some extra plates but she walked away instantly without asking us if we needed anything else. Very unprofessional will not be back and would not recommend. ( it wasn’t busy as well) so I just don’t understand why she was so rude. Not happy!

Really weird service, felt really awkward especially from the older waitress who was working there at the time. Just really off putting and the food was also cold and just tasted wrong

The atmosphere was really good and the Staff were helpful, especially, Lillian was great, she helped in making this dinner amazing and unforgettable.

In my humble opinion I believe Nando's are one of the most consistent restaurants in terms of the quality of food and service. I think Nando's always offer great value for money compared to most other eateries. Excellent!!

The chicken is good, it is very spicy and tasty. The fries are good but the mashed potatoes were bland.

Great food great service everytime I go

I go to this Nandos every Monday, had a bad experience with the Macho peas being multi coloured and not tasting right. Dont usually complain but was a bit let down as only got the one side on that occasion and then couldnt eat it. Spoke to manager Arron the next time i was in and showed him a pic. He understood it was not the best service and actually gave me a gift voucher to use next time im in. Excellent service from Arron turned a not great situation into a good one. This shows why Nandos have great customer service. Thankyou Arron

We have just orders some chicken Wraps and chips and I must say for the past 10 years that we have had Nando’s! This must’ve been the worst meal of all time and just ridiculous just very unsure how or whoever is in charge of this site would let such Chicken wraps come out of the kitchen! * Food was extremely swimming in Sauce and the warps were so soggy that we couldn’t even hold it together. * ordered double chicken wraps and I can confidently confirm that it wasn’t even the single amount in the double that we paid for, we get this meal very regularly from different Nando's Site. * The chips were so burned and cold that was nearly possible to even chew never mind enjoying what we waited an hour for! * ordered a bottle of Diet Coke which was missing when the delivery arrived and super Disappointed with this site. Would definitely not Recommend this place at the light as it was a terrible experience and unfortunate for this place.

Second time I’ve come to this Nando’s and it’s honestly so good! Ordered the butterfly chicken, mash and fries and it was just perfect. The service was good they were able to grab the sauce that I can never find!

For food, I ordered 1/2 chicken leg. One plate was enough to fill my stomach, and I ordered fried rice and fries on the side. I was so full that I couldn't eat it all, but the meal exceeded my expectations. I think Koreans might think of oven chicken cooking. I chose the non-spicy level as the default, and brought two bottles of spicy and spicier sauces from the self-serve bar. There are a variety of sauces, so we recommend trying a variety of dishes. Drinks are refillable. I think it would be okay to have one and share :)

Urgh where do I start. When we arrived we were told it would be a 25 minute wait. We were then stood in a corner by the window for around 45-50 minutes until we chased it up with a waiter who just so happened to be 'just getting our table ready'. We ordered food and when it came we went to get cutlery only to find that there were no forks available. We complained about this to a staff member who strolled off with no urgency and started serving someone else! Forks were then brought out to the greeting area and staff started drying them off with towels before bringing them over to us about 5 minutes later as our food was going cold. We complained when a waitress asked if everything was OK and the manager came over and offered us ice cream later on. As we had plans for the evening at theatre we had no time to wait and didn't trust that wouldn't take am age to come either having been in the place for 90 minutes already for a 'quick service' chicken and chips so made a quick exit knowing we would not be retuning again.

Really great atmosphere and super friendly service. I had a great experience with my friend and the food was great! Our only gripe was the wrap (The Great Imitator) wasn't served hot, was sadly a lukewarm first bite. But, I am really pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture of the plant-based Peri-Peri chicken – it was meaty and exceeded my expectations. I'd love to have it again if it's served hot next time :) The grains and butternut squash side also surprised me too, was very tasty. My favourite side of spicy rice also did not disappoint!

We were in town for Micky Flanagan and needed to eat and despite the huge choice in Leeds, when you want good no fuss food then Nandos was our pick and we weren't disappointed. It was very busy but we were seated after about 15>20 minutes . The chicken was spot on , staff nice , Will go again. No hesitation in recommending.

Very disappointed & not up to the standard of the brand. Staff were rude long waits expected. The place seemed in chaos & the atmosphere was ruined by a loud, badly played, out of tune piano next to the tables. We didn’t wait for the food..

Great service with friendly and attentive staff. The location of the restaurant is in a really nice area of the city and this branch caters and offers halal chicken. Only criticism is the garlic bread is more of a garlic bun and i found it to be too big and dry.

Was absolutely rammed at a time I thought it would be slower so food took a lot longer than usual (my fault). The service Lauren from was top-notch, apologised for the wait and made sure I was taken care of. Thank you so much.

I visited this shop, but I saw they treat customers well, but they didn't give respect to delivery guys they treat them like slave what a shame 😔.

This was a fantastic restaurant to dine in at, with the options clearly presented on menus at the counter and tables! The design gives a relaxed vibe, the counter is clear and the staff had strong service. Refillable drinks are available from the machine, offering a solid range that I enjoyed Fanta Zero and Coca Cola from. Quarter Chicken Breast with Peri-Peri seasoned chips was delicious, served at a comfortable and clean table!

First time ever trying a nando’s and can honestly say I've not been missing out on much, been to better chicken joints.

It's Nando, so never going to pretend it's an amazing culinary experience but the staff were really lovely, the food came quick. The staff are very much the asset here.

We ordered food to be delivered. We got hummus and a side of chips along with our mains and they forgot to bring both the hummus and the chips. Yet they packed the pitta bread and the sauce for the hummus. Disappointing service and when we called the restaurant, they said they would not deliver the missing items. Hadn’t had a Nando’s in a long time and was looking forward to it, but it was a disappointment.

it’s like my third time coming here because I’ve been quite hesitant about other peoples experiences that I’ve heard about Nando’s. Wanted to see how the experience would be anyways, I ordered a sunset burger and as soon as it arrived I gave it 2 bites to then realise the chicken was completely raw (pink) and I then realised there was a hair that I pulled out from the burger too. completely put me off. (Offered me a refund as an apology which I accepted) I’ve had 2 years in customer service so I know how the hospitality and catering environment is like, i observed every waitress there and 2 seemed to be stood in the corner having a casual conversation and there was only 1 poor girl just running around taking everyone’s orders. Felt quite bad as she was looking over at the other waitresses as an indication to help her. I also noticed that on pass, there was a lot of dishes just sat there getting cold and that made me mad to say that my sisters dish came completely cold too. I think Nando’s is way too overhyped and should improve on customer skills and overall.

Pleasant Good prompt service We didn't have to wait too long Only a minor snag is one waitress had a dirty T/shirt and Apron either she was the chef and came out to help? Otherwise Enjoyed the atmosphere Food delicious
