Nando's Edinburgh - Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh, City of

Visiting from abroad. I always enjoy Nandos when visiting the UK and I even travelled all the way from the City Center because this is a halal certified store. At the store I ordered my food at 19:50 and got my food at 20:22. The guy told me to wait a few times but waiting for more than half an hour shouldn’t be the case it wasn’t even that busy. Also it was way too cold in the store but then again it’s the ocean terminal. Asked for a refund and was happy to get it. He could have offered me something else or something easy while waiting. I just went away all hungry and mad. Very sad.

I have never left a bad review before and I feel awful that I have had to do this. I was really disappointed with the food and the service. The garlic bread was burnt, the chips were cold and the chicken was overcooked. We sent the garlic bread back and they brought it back again burnt. The burger was burnt and when we sent that back it came back overcooked and my son couldn't eat it. The staff didn't care and I was sick after my meal. Have some pride in the food you serve. I just can't believe it, over £70 wasted and our day was spoilt.

If there’s a Nando’s, I’m getting it. Did the Royal Yacht Britannia tour which came free through our hotel stay and was so happy to see a Nando’s at the terminal. You can never go wrong with the wings.

I visited this place in particular several times, as my family loved it. Truth to be said, I couldn't fall in love with this place nor food, on those several occasions I ordered, my food was yet spicy, even when I asked for none to be added. The place is always crowded, good for business but not for diners, as the music plays high tone to lower the noise pollution made by guests. Prices are high compared to the portions served. I know I will visit it more often, unfortunately I will be forced to 😄

Disappointing Experience at Nandu’s – Poor Service and Management We waited almost an hour for a simple order of half chicken, sides, and a veg pitta, despite the restaurant being far from busy. We had to ask twice about our food and even went to the counter to express how hungry we were—it almost felt like we were begging for food. The staff were working hard, but it was clear the place was poorly managed, with no manager visible during the delays. When the manager eventually appeared after we requested him, his apology seemed rehearsed and insincere. No offers of compensation or goodwill were made, which any decent restaurant would provide under these circumstances. Nandu’s is known for better standards, but this experience was far from it. Very disappointing.

Wow Nandos (Halal) with a view!!

Very disappointed with our nandos at ocean terminal. Me and my partner are regulars to nandos at fort Kinnaird or straiton, never an issue. We had a movie at the cinema so we decided for our date night we would get a nandos before never attending this nandos before assumed it would be the same. Firstly, we were sat at a table right in the middle with the sun beaming in our eyes when there were tables for 2 available and lots of them. Then our food took around 30 minutes to come but we could see it was ready after 15 and was just sat under the heated lamp for ages until the waiter came. Kitchen are clearly shouting for someone as there were a lot of plates but the boy who was the waiter was completely ditzy and walking around cleaning cutlery like there was nothing to do (cutlery was soaking after). At this point we were getting really frustrated with it. When the food arrived it was stone cold. The chicken was completely hard and dried out the knife would barely go through it, the chips well there was barely any chips on the plate and the garlic bread was the worst of all! It was so cold I could barely bite into it? I know places can have bad days especially on a Friday evening but if I had to pick I’d rather wait longer for better food than have food served so disgusting. Not one to complain usually and didn’t complain in the restaurant due to having a movie to see and not having enough time for them to remake it and probably still be the same. Think it’s time to hire more waitresses so the plates can be delivered to the table when they are acutally ready.

Best experience I had in life very gd service

I happened to be coming from Port of Leith distillery when I stumbled on your establishment, the kid inside me jumped out instantly as I was missing home. Placed an order from a very friendly gentleman and boy was the food not good 😊💯. The spice level was a bit disappointing compared with Nandos south Africa but the food was really good even better when I could get a glass of Spier Cabernet Sauvignon 💪🏿. I gotta mention Amy's service was great, I was not expecting that friendly and impeccable service at all. Thank you Amy and thank you Nandos Scotland.

Wouldn’t eat here if it was the last place on Earth. Once saw a manager take food out the bin and serve it to a customer. Yuck.

We regularly go to nanados of ocean terminal we never experienced any attitude from the staff but last Tuesday we had unprofessional behaviour from one of the managers the way she was speaking unceptable at all , one of the girl took our orders we had to repeat it for her about four times and after we recived the food we were short one the sides I went to ask her if that was a mistake she starting telling me if you want one more you need to go to the till and walk away, I tired to speak to her one more time just ignored me . Either I was right or wrong doesn't matter but attitude and behaviour was really disgusting.

Showed up at 2 pm with an almost empty restaurant. Had to ask to be seated. Ordered food, after 30 full minutes of waiting I asked the cashier to check on our food as it seemed to be taking a long time. Part of it sat under the heaters and most of it was nowhere to be found. I asked for a manager after being frustrated by their lack of caring only to be met with a manager who apparently didn’t care himself and simply said sorry. Luckily the food is usually fresh but portions for the price aren’t very good either.

Absolutely awful experience..Just order whole chicken with my friends they all ready eating waiting 45 min and no one bring my food shame on you no any stuff bring my foood . I asked for stuff speak to maneger he is no bother to tell maneger I will walk there speak on myself

Absolutely awful experience. Waiting for half an hour just for a small portion of food. Their service are actually the worst. No one cares about you when dining. And their price are not fair compared to other foods.

Lovely Nando’s on the 2nd floor of ocean terminal. Nando 10 wings for £12 is my favourite. Bottomless drinks too. Great view of the port and Royal Britannia Boat. Halal chicken is great.

I have traveled to Scotland today 02/05/24 for my brunch .. I went to ocean terminal branch. Three staff was there around 11.30 am. All look after me very well . Their hospitality is amazing.

Even without drinks or appetizers or dessert the price per person is around 15 GBP... This one is more like a restaurant than fast food... But Staff is only for bringing the order to the table. Everything else is up to you... So you have to order through the internet, bring napkins, forks etc Bring all the sauces... The taste is nice though

Awful....my first time visiting Nandos and it will be my last! Bread roll was stale, chicken breast was tiny and dry and although I ordered the extra hot option there was no flavour. Staff were lovely

Hardly give Nandos a full 5 stars, however the location and staff at this particular one are fabulous so I would come back in a heartbeat.

Henry was FANTASTIC! Everyone else sucked! Pablo said there was no list and then proceeded to add people to a list after we walked away. Henry came up and made the situation right. Pablo sucks and Henry needs a raise. None of the staff was running food and the window was overflowing with food as the kitchen was faster than the servers.

Went on a Saturday, just before cinema, place was very quiet , we sat for lunch, we ordered 1/2 chicken medium spiced with Peri Mac and cheese and chips , sharing platter butterfly chicken and boneless thighs with chips and Mac and cheese and garlic bread and we had chicken wings, chicken was a bit chargrilled black, looked good on the front but the back was burnt and butter and was a bit dry and chewy , not sure where the peri Mac cheese just tasted regular Mac and cheese, chips was good, the app was quick and easy and food was fast,

Disappointed been here before first couple of times they were amazing enjoyed it, however thes last 3 times I have been it just hasn’t been good. Slow service with drink glasses to be served taking 25 mins. Then waiting for food I mean I could see the food under the hot lamps but the staff seemed more interested to make their own food and go on their breaks, when I cane in I saw 4 4 waiters 2 mins later I see them all plating their own food and disappearing it was already busy before I came as wel.. I don’t have an issue i just mean like if there’s multiple orders waiting to be served why not just serve them and go for your breaks 5 mins later.

Very good service, and the manager offered free frozen yogurt as my child was been stubborn.

We were sat close to the order queuing table and could easily see the orders getting set up by the kitchen. We had ordered livers and chicken butterfly with fries. The livers were ready and sat there for a good 15mins and my wife noticed that. I called one if the servers over to check our on our order as it was 30 mins in and we were told it wasn't ready yet and the food on the counter wasn't ours. After another 5mins I asked another server and after checking inside the kitchen got us the same tray of food that was lying on the queuing station with luke warm livers and cold fries. When I complained he promptly agreed to refund the money :). I expressed my disappointment that it wasn't the money I was after but the food was cold. So he sent his manager to delay with us. She promptly replaced the fries but I was told livers would take another 15mins by when I could not be bothered. Just had the food and left. Not coming back to this Nandos for sure.

We arrived at opening time. We sat down, the waiter came over, brought us a menu, asked if we had any allergies, and left. We waited for 15 minutes before we got there and it turned out that you have to order with a QR code, but no one said that. Plus, apart from chicken, my menu consisted of sensible food. I don't eat chicken or pork. I will never go to a Nando's restaurant again!!! We didn't order, but left.

Gosh, compared to Nando's in London... this place was Amazing. Amazing employees, Amazing view and the food was sooo much better.

Shame on Nandos staff in Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh. Today just after 2pm, my 12 yr old daughter and her 13 yr old friend were verbally abused by a mentally imbalanced deranged customer TWICE and the staff ran away to the back and hid and ignored what was happening instead of trying to intervene and call security atleast. None of the staff helped at all. The man came up TWICE and intimated, threatened and verbally abused them, screamed in their faces, at 2 young girls and the staff were too CHICKEN to help them! Shame on Nandos. Didn't have the decent to call security and ensure they were safe. The situation could have escalated and became physical as this man was leaning in towards them and threatening them. His child fell over due to his own failure of being a loser of a dad, he wasn't paying attention to his child, his child injured themselves as they weren't being cared for and he decided to tak his failure and embarrassment out on the girls who were talking and laughing amongst themselves after not seeing each other for a year. How dare the man take his failure of being a dad out on the girls and the staff for failing to keep the girls safe by not calling security and instead they hide away in the kitchen. Absolutely disgusting and despicable, shame on the man and shame on the staff. And also to all the grown ups who sat and watched, if you're reading this post, you're just as bad as that vile man.

At around 2 o clock - Saturday 13th of January my niece and her friend who are both under age and in primary school were dining in, a grown man's child fell, and he accused them of laughing at his child and proceeded to verbally abuse them (swearing, etc), while leaning into them. Keep in mind my niece and her friend are both underage and were verbally abused two times, once at the start for a few minutes and the later as he began to leave with his child. This whole time, the staff who are obviously cowards with no backbone stood and watched, then went to cowar away in the kitchen like little girls themselves, while they see underage girls being verbally abused and harrased, what type of staff does this chain employ? They should have the courage to at least step in and calm the man down / call security and/or the police, cowering away like scared dogs in the kitchen is pathetic, if you can't ensure the safety of your underage customers you should not be open. This is a shopping center where children come for to hang out, you have a responsibility to call security, or do something and ensure their security, not allow children to be put in danger. I am extremely disappointed, there was staff who were grown 'able bodied' "men" who had no reason to cowar away like frightened dogs, but instead chose to not intervene and at least calm the situation while security could arrive and do their job.

Big meals, easy to order via app at table, reasonably priced, clean, friendly staff

They are only selling the name here, the food quality is really bad and not worth half the price they are charging.

Went to Nandos with the family on Friday evening (15th Dec 2023 @9.30pm). Ordered two separate burgers and dessert for the children. Once received the burgers we hadn't been asked by the staff members of everything was ok - which it wasn't as one burgers was burnt and the other was a half empty burger and cold. Still not received the kids dessert; I asked the staff member when we will get the rest of our order. She mentions Its coming; however after waiting another 15 mins we had enough. Clearly messed up the order. I go back up again to cancel the rest of the order as not wanting to wait any longer and the staff member says you only asked 15 mins ago; correcting her I said I ordered all food together at the same time. Worst experience ever and very disappointing especially from Nandos!

The staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful, genuinely couldn't fault them. The food was overall lovely. My chips were undercooked, but the staff member I spoke to immediately apologised and got fresh ones which was great. The only real downside to this visit was that the restaurant itself was absolutely freezing. So wear lots of layers when you go here.

We were visiting Nando’s today, and we’re really disappointed with this experience. First of all the sauce we got was very salty, then they messed up our order, we also had a cold burger and chicken, the meat was practically falling off the bone into little pieces, the portions of food were super small. We ate here so many times but none off this happened, the side of broccoli only came with three pieces of it, plus the service was very poor. Needless to say this was our worst experience of Ocean Center at Edinburgh Nando’s of our life.

Never buy anything here again, so I got there like 5 minutes to there close time, and I asked if I could get something the girl show me few things they could make and I pick 2 chicken breast which is £8.45 and I got other two sides on my way going I noticed the bag is really lite like there’s nothing in the bag, I spend total of £14.45 and the bag is this lite , I decided to open the bag and I found just a chicken breast instead of 2 immediately turned back to show them maybe there’s a mistake only for them to claim that just a single chicken breast is 2 , just a single chicken breast for almost £9 never coming here again, worst have ever tired 👎

2/3 meals came quickly. Food was as expected, still nice to eat and enjoy however, one member of our party was waiting 30 minutes for our food to be delivered. We went on a friday so was busy however not busy enough to take 30 minutes. We were informed by the manager who profusly apologied and advised that a server had delivered the food to the wrong table. We then had to wait a further 20 minutes for the food to be delivered however by then we had places to be. The blonde girl on shift in the kitchen was lovely and very apologetic about the whole situation. She handled it perfectly and we got the meal with a brownie as well to compensate. Overall alright experience, would not come again on a Friday as the running staff were abysmal.

Very good veg and non veg options so can go there as a family to enjoy a nice meal.

I came to this restaurant and I asked for a table with a view they sat me by the window which did not necessarily have a view but the server was amazing think her name was sky?

Was there while visiting Edinburgh. Ordered chicken liver and chicken sandwich for my son. The buns it came with were 3 days old. Got our stomachs upset. Stay away.

We ordered the full platter which included barbecue peri peri chicken, loaded fries, humous, halloumi and frozen yogurt. The food was nice and I really enjoyed the barbecue flavour, the sides included loaded fries and halloumi as always were nice. The restaurant was clean and a lot quieter than our local ones, the young ladies working to serve us were also superb, and gave us two high chairs for the kids. The toilet facilities were also clean.

When cutting on waiting staff it's an indication of cheaper experience and why we left in the middle of it all. So they don't take any orders and you'll order your items online 🤔 🙄...what does visitors think of this country, they probably think the people are as cold as the weather, no? Just lazy and money hungry and did not appreciate the experience at all. So tourists who don't have a mobile number for Scotland are dragged to order whereby staff huff and puff because they were asked about their orders but obviously unsure how things are served here and clearly witnessed this 🙄 🤔. We paid and excused ourselves immediately, thank you but no 👎

" I need to clean table and be patience next time" staff is so arrogant.We were given table beside entrance and we wished to have table on sea site window.We didn't place order and waited to get one of table free on sea site side.fortunately we got one table free and I set down .There was two glass on the table and staff girl came and said " I need to clean table and be patience next time" .So wiered . You're here to serve not to teach patience to customers. Fake smiles from staff .so bad experience.leaving food on table like throwing to birds. Very Poor customer service.

My favourite Espedata was NOT available. Can't say anything about service as there was only 1 person to clean the tables and anyway we will never experience any customer services like middle east or Asian countries. Basically no customer service. However it is Halal

We managed to order food via QR code, it took waiter so long to bring food to the table, food quantity was kind of small, price/quality ratio not really high. The only really good thing was a unlimited glass refill option from the machine, it helped with keepijg the hunger away. Luckily I was able to go to local fish and chips provider and the day was just perfect!

Went to nandos today, taking the kids for the first time. Food was good, staff were great but the plates, glasses and cutlery were dirty. I went though the pile of side plates on the table all of them were dirty with old peri peri salt on the underside of the plates, dirtying the top. The glasses were dirty too. The food was good but I'll never go back to this nandos as it clearly has a hygiene issue.

Nando's. The home of posh KFC. The young PJ crew swear by it as the height of world cuisine. Chicken quite dry but, when smothered in various sauces and washed down with bottomless coke/fanta hybrid drinks,it helps to neutralises all sense that this was an actual living creature at some point in its life. The views from the table across the bay are amazing. We got the table with the view of the Vue cinema. EDIT: Just been to the toilet and you can see the ROYAL YACHT whilst washing your hands after having a wee! All bases covered. Thank you Nando's!

The atmosphere is better than a lot of other nando’s, the seating outside near the sea is wonderful. The food is exactly what you would expect from any Nando’s, comes quick, hot and really tasty. The service was mediocre I’d say because mostly you aren’t serviced, you service yourself, you’re expected to get up and get your own cutlery, fill up your own drinks and bring the sauces to yourself, also besides the fact that you order and pay online. So there wasn’t much interaction with staff.

We always go for peri peri chicken in West London area where we used to live so I can taste when it's fresh or not. This time, we thought we'll try this branch during our holiday, it tasted like the chicken was a day or 2 old and just reheated it on the grill with the spice level that you ordered. Because when you cut into pieces, there is like a slime string between the meat which usually does not happen on a freshly cooked meat. There you go. I really hope this is not the case at this restaurant. It was dry too. Anyway it didn't taste fresh. The rice was also not fresh as in there were so many dry grains in the portion. Again not how they usually served. There were lots of empty tables when we arrive and the girl pointed a table on her right by the entrance and said "is this table okay for you?" We'll, I think "where would you like to sit?" might be a good one when you are that quiet. I can understand if that was the only table available. Chips were good. Decoration could have been improved by removing those plants by the glass as they are blocking the amazing view if you were sitting at the tables right next to glass but you won't be able to enjoy the view fully plus the soil would be too close to the food, no?

Visited with family today, sitting area was disgusting, its not cleaned at all, sitting area was very messed. Spilled juice and food is everywhere. Asked thrice for cleaning but never enjoyed our meal because of disgusting atmosphere. Ordered had been made otherwise never dine in.

A nicer Nando’s than most. Food is your typical Nando’s however on my most recent visit, we did have a few issues. We were given 3 dirty glasses and one even had lipstick on it. Also the fizzy drinks were flat which was disappointing however the food was good. The loaded fries were pretty tasty

We had a quick bite to eat here, there was only one other table in use in the restaurant. The staff very quick to seat us with a view of the harbour which was nice. The food was enjoyable, typical Nando's - you know what you are getting. Service was very good, the staff were very friendly. Nice place to grab a spot of lunch albeit very quiet.

Everything was great the staff should monitor the unlimited soft drinks machine for ice spillage.

Usually the service is fine, as you would expect. When we last visited the staff were under pressure from their manager. Constant shouting from the kitchen. Was not a good atmosphere. Also when our food came it was over cooked.

Nando' s in England was our favorite place since 2012.We are in Edinburgh now and we had the same ambience and experience today. Special thanks to Nargis for taking care of us very well. Her energy level is amazing. Another tall person at the till, couldn't check his name, thank you so much. All the staff were polite and friendly. Food was amazing😍. Thank you all!
