We took our son here for a birthday treat with family

I recently visited Nando's in Coventry, and while I have high expectations for this popular chain, my experience left me feeling somewhat underwhelmed. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lively and vibrant, which is always a plus. The colorful decor and upbeat music created an inviting environment for a casual meal. However, on the day I visited, the place was quite busy, and I found the noise level to be a bit overwhelming at times, making conversation difficult. Regarding service, it was a mixed bag. The staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived, and I appreciated their willingness to help with the menu. Unfortunately, we experienced a long wait for our food, which was a bit surprising for a fast-casual dining experience. When our meals finally arrived, they were generally enjoyable, but not without some hiccups. My chicken was cooked well and packed with flavor, but my friend's order was incorrect, which was disappointing. One highlight of the meal was the Peri-Peri sauce selection; it never disappoints! The variety allowed us to experiment with different heat levels, and we enjoyed trying out new flavors. The sides we ordered, especially the spicy rice and coleslaw, complemented the chicken well. In terms of value, Nando's generally offers decent prices for the quality of food. However, given the issues we faced with service and order accuracy, it didn't quite feel worth it this time. Overall, Nando's Coventry has the potential for a great dining experience with its delicious food and lively atmosphere. Nonetheless, the combination of slow service and an incorrect order detracted from the overall enjoyment. I hope to give it another chance in the future, but for now, I'll stick with a three-star rating.

Been here twice now. Very good standard of Nando's.

Family went for food and it was awful. The food was over cooked. When you pride yourself on chicken and it's over cooked there's a problem. Couple of the staff were laughing and joking whilst my mother and father in law waited over 40 mins to be served after we had been served. Wont be going back!!.

Place has gone downhill, senior staff are rude, younger staff could do with more training in customer services. And maybe the kitchen staff to cook properly

Very busy branch but staff are brilliant and food was out quick and most importantly tasted great.

I visited Nando's Showcase as part of Team dinner with office colleagues. 1. We booked the table prior to dinner while spending time at Tenpin bowling 🎳. 2. We got our table reserved, and ordered the food at our table for all 13 people in the QR scanned menu. 3. The staff are polite and friendly. Nice interior ambience 4. Food was served in no time while we were chit chatting

Been a few times. Nice Nandos, quick service, clean, easy to get to. Spot on! Garlic bread was very, very garlic-y.

Service was very fast, food was piping and staff were very friendly! If you want top tier service and customer care ask for Milli!!

It was a really nice experience. The service was done smilingly. The food was nicely prepared. It is indeed a great place to eat out.

Really compressed seatin plan for tables of 2, felt like i was out with the peeps to my left and right we were that close The OG burger was terrible this time, overcooked, chewy, tiny piece of chicken hidden in the bun. Pretty gutted tbh.

I've been to several Nando's (as you do) and this is the best I've been to. The food is always prompt, hot and fresh. The parking is free. They brought my 4 year old some colouring and crayons which was lovely. The only downside is that it can get so very hot in there on a warm day and there's no A/C (marked down a star for this as it was uncomfortable Friday evening). Thankfully the drinks are bottomless so you can cool down with those! I had a Fino pitta, peri chips and coleslaw. No regrets - it was awesome. Thanks Nando's!

£50 for two chicken butterfly meals, chicken very dry, didn't enjoy

Don't bother when it's busy. Food was standard Nandos but we got served warm glasses straight out of the glass wash and room temperature beer. When I politely mentioned it they did their best to sort it but that consisted of running glasses under ice water to cool them because they had run out. Same with the beer as the fridge wasn't big enough or restocked quickly enough. It's poor service without everything they need to provide a consistently good service. After I complained they had people constantly coming out from behind the bar to use the customer ice machine to cool glasses which was a completely ridiculous process. Desperately needs to get more fridges, get more glasses and manage it all properly.

I was really looking foreward to a nice dinner with my family to celebrate a recent event. I ended up getting a quarter chicken and chips for both myself and my son. Both me and my son agreed that the chips tasted like undercooked potatoes left out for days and the chicken tasted like what I would expect my 9 year old daughter to make. Feel cheated.

Food was very good. They different variety of spice levels you can pick it up. If you're a Indian you can go for more spicy as It's not that much. Don't miss the dessert here.

Don't go here past 7pm, it's absolute chaos. Waited over an hour for a meal.

I normally love coming to nandos but was left very unsatisfied by the recent visit. There was a long strand of hair found in my food, when i raised this with a member of staff, he was very ignorant. Upon leaving I spoke to the manager who again had an attitude of 'I'm not really interested'. Very disappointed with the food and overall attitude of staff working here. Won't be visiting here again.

Loved every bit today! It was my son’s birthday today and the Manager on duty, Alan and staff made sure my son was well pampered for his double digit birthday. They made sure he has his favourite chickpea wrap which has been taken off the menu this week.. he arranged it for my son.. and thn sang happy birthday with the desserts.. my son just loved every moment of it! Thank you Staff and d manager at Walsgrave Nandos to make it special for my son! Really means a lot! Keep up d amazing service u deliver everytime!

First nandos experience and the last. Food is average, , expensive, had to get own cutlery, napkins, sauces. Food came out suspiciously fast.

All the food took a long time to prepare waiting around 40 mins food came cold and it just didn’t Taste as a good as it usually does Chicken was so cold I asked for a replacement chicken it came out too late I was nearly done with the cold sides when the chicken came out it only the skin had flavour the rest was dry and flavourless chips didn’t taste fresh and it felt like it had been sitting there for ages before it came out Normally I’m always happy leaving but this time I wasn’t unfortunately and staff seemed too busy and weren’t making eye contact so I didn’t bother telling them again Also nobody came to check on how we got on with our food like normal.

The food was very cold and manger did not even come up to sort it out staff member said he get the Manger which she did not come to the table WHAT OUT IF YOU WANT COLD FOOD GO THERE

Garlic bread was a bit soggy but the periperi was good.

I've been to quite a few Nandos around the country & thought I'd try this one out. It was the standard affair, which I was v.pleased with. We were seated straight away & ordered the starter & mains with no hiccups ✨ The food was timely, hot and the salad was 👌🏿 + Free parking + No long waiting + Tasty 😋 food Special mention: Milli ✨✨

Food always good, and staff always friendly. The place could do with a bit of a refurb now getting a bit battered and drab.

Terrible experience on the 18/5/24 staff was in no hurry to satisfy the customers and was slouching around going on a slow walk a round while we waited 40 minutes our food. Bear in mind it’s not even busy.We seen our food being stacked upon and it came dry. Staff is very rude and not earger to help at all. Will not be coming back until these issues our sorted. Will be attending the Nandos in city centre until I hear good news!!

Great service, decent meals, and very polite staff. Only downside was the toilet....buzz kill. Otherwise, Nando's comes highly recommended 👌

Food good as always but 20 minutes late for pickup

Again, amazing food! We had to scan and join the queue but we were at our table within ten minutes. The food was gorgeous, and the atmosphere was buzzing as always. We did have the misfortune of the most ignorant server we have ever had there, more or less threw our plates down on the table and walked off. Even when we were walking to get our drinks he was strolling around at a snails pace not caring that people were trying to pass him by. Other than that, the food and everyone else were lovely as always.

Nandos has gotten so expensive! For the amount of food you get it certainly isn't conducive of the price. This branch was clean,staff we're friendly and service was quick

Can't beat a good nandos this one however was exceptional. I didn't have to wait the service was spot on and man I love a good bit of chicken. Also if you havnt tried the houmous and pitta started you really are missing out 😋😋😋

We are regulars here, we have been coming for years, but last Sunday evening was a big disappointment. I ordered my usual fino pitta, while eating it the texture didn't feel right. I opened it up and a piece of chicken (which actually looked like gammon) looked questionable. So I pushed it aside and checked the rest which looked fine and taste fine. Unfortunately, Monday early morning I became ill, and was ill for a further 5 days with food poisoning. So disappointed, and it has completely put me off from another nandos. PLEASE CHECK ALL FOOD IS COOKED BEFORE SERVING!

Venue was cold and my wrap was also cold as they do not grill the wraps which makes them come out cold with the amount of sauce that is inside them. Nandos this is common sense not to serve your customers cold food just pure laziness.

Turned up at 5pm on a Saturday night at Nando's Coventry Showcase. Not too busy. I could see 6 empty ready to go tables. 3x Large and 3x smaller. Staff said 20min wait!!! For what? We were first in the queue. No else around waiting

30min wait. Noisey. Miserable. Generic bland. Awful

Great staff, very friendly, very helpful, can't fault them. Especially Anita, always smiling and very attentive. Great member of staff!

I went here today with family. Food was great, service was quick as usual and the atmosphere was fine. As a regular Nando's goer, I do feel that the food is a little bit expensive though.

Very busy when we went but service and quality if food was fantastic.

Not quite what it was pre-covid. Ordering over the online app means you can't add notes like special requests now. Our table was near the door and people entered and exited continually and it was freezing every time the door opened. It was often held open or left open and it made me uncomfortable. I sound like I'm really complaining but would really suggest you sit far away from the door and go up to order your food with a staff member instead.

Staff were lovely, really enjoyed being there and we brought our own surprise birthday cake. Staff brought it out lite and then provided plates too. Very kind.

Love a good Nando's! The new chickpea wrap is so good, especially with the sweet chilli jam and pickled onion. So, food was great as usual and this is a big place so it was really nice. The staff are very helpful too.

Awful food ....chicken raw and tough....manager not really interested....host on the door nice helpful guy...waited 30 min for seat....n 30 minutes for food which was awful....had a 5 month old baby with us his parents called a taxi when leaving n were told they had to wait outside even though it was a chilly night too cold for a baby...just an awful night

nandos atmosphere is a hit or miss to me but i really liked this one. TRY THE LOADED FRIES!!

Tasty chicken in a very clean restaurant. The music is slightly loud making it a bit difficult to talk and hear without raising your voice above normal. The staff are friendly, but not overly on point. We needed a high chair and I got it myself and no staff assisted. They asked us about our food right after serving it before we had even eaten any. They never came back to ask about dessert, so we went elsewhere. The bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner which would have made the overall experience a bit better, but overall it was pleasant. At the end of the day, you go to Nandos for some delicious, moist, flavourful chicken and that's what we got.

Came for a cheeky nandos post-gym, left very full and very happy. Blue light card isn't accepted, so if you're NHS, make sure you bring your badge. I got the chicken butterfly, and the new sharing plate.

Very friendly service and an airy and clean space. The food was a bit underwhelming - the chicken breast was very overcooked and the corn on the cob only slightly charred. The prices felt quite high, but it has been a while since I last went to Nandos, so that could just be general inflation. All in all, worth a visit if driving up the m6 and need a food break.

Good access for wheelchairs and good disabled facilities

We visited here after seeing the Barbie film so it was really busy. The virtual queuing worked really well. The young staff were so attentive despite how busy they were. The table was clean & the food delicious & once we were seated arrived really speedily. I was with my two 11 year old grandchildren & they loved it! Thank you.

First time. Food was OK didn't like that waitress doesn't take your food order, you can order off your phone. Beer was well expensive though, probably my biggest gripe. Must say though the stoff were excellent.

I visited nandos showcase in Coventry on the evening of 15/07/23. My partner and I wanted to grab some food before going to the cinema so arrived early knowing there would be a wait on tables as it was a Saturday night. We got there and spoke to a young guy on the door (no name badge so couldn’t tell you his name) - he told us it was a 40 minute wait on tables and to wait outside in the queue if we wanted a table. We were fine with this wait and went outside to wait. He didn’t take our name or any other details just asked us to wait outside, we thought this was odd as usually they take a name but nonetheless we thought maybe they had a different system in place as we hadn’t been to this nandos branch before. About 15 minutes later, it started to rain so we decided to wait inside the doorway. Whilst waiting inside we saw people scanning a qr code to be added to a virtual queue. My partner then went to speak to the guy on the door and asked of we were actually in the queue as we were told to just wait outside. The guy then got really defensive and said he had told us to scan the qr code which he didn’t and we didn’t even know was on the inside door as this nandos is not our local. After arguing with my partner, he then said he would stick us on the virtual queue manually which we appreciated. So we carried on waiting and about 15 minutes later, two girls walked in who he seemed to know well and they asked for a table and he told them he had a 40 minute wait as he had 65 tables waiting. They seemed to have a laugh about this and that they didn’t want to wait that long so he told them to go order their food and he will sort them out with a table. Baring in mind by this point we had been waiting 30-35 mins and there were other people who had been waiting longer than us, he sorted out these two girls who he knew with a table there and then. He realised we had just watched him do this and panicked and said he was sorting us out with a table right away, which he did. We weren’t fussed about waiting but we were annoyed with how we were not told about scanning the qr code and then how his friends were just sorted out with a table there and then. We saw him do the same for another person that he clearly knew. Once seated, we did have a lovely meal - the food was good, but no one came to check on us or even clear our plates whilst we finished our drinks. Staff seemed to just be walking around aimlessly despite it being really busy. I know its nandos but our local branch do really well to check on you even if the restaurant is really busy. We were left disappointed by the customer service but happy with our food.

Lovely friendly service - great with my 3 year old - and spacious dining room. My chicken and chips were spot on but my garlic bread was hard and stale, and the broccoli was quite over cooked and over-garlicked. Great option so close off the M6 though - far better than anything at a service station.

Went as a group of 5, the staff were rushed off their feet so we're not on the ball in terms of bringing drinks to the table, just seated you and left you to it. Although some of the items were off the menu (chicken thighs, butterfly chicken) The food was lovely and arrived warm, the chicken burger bun was hard but think this was due to the food being on the hot plate for a while before it was brought over. Towards the end of our visit there was a lovely member of the team who had 2 mins for a quick chat, to clear the plates and check everything was ok with the food.

We spent £100 in total but sadly chicken was extremely dry and needed a lot of the Nando’s sauce and make it more edible. When we were asked how our food was we all said that our chicken was extremely dry and even the garlic bread was like hard and tough once it had gone cold, we were only offered replacement food and no money back or discounts to come again. We were only offered replacement food but we’d already eaten too much and didn’t want to waste food. This was a shame as normally love Nando’s however I definitely do not recommend this restaurant location.
