Nando's in Oxford

Hygiene and segregation? We were initially placed into an section where ethnic minorities were the main demographic I asked to sit in the warmer brighter section of the restaurant Where there was plenty of space I saw one of the staff who is a team member pulling the hair of one of his colleagues twisting it around his finger and patting her bun. Our order was then ready and he immediately reached for the plates of food without washing his hands and I had to stop him. went to wash his hands but it was too late. I lost my confidence in the hygiene standards of the restaurant. The manager said that he would speak with the staff. Hopefully the team will learn better lessons. Apparently, hairnets are not required so please look out for hair your food if you go and ensure that they wash their hands!!

Great place to eat. Great food. Also amazing service from Richard, Hannah and Anthony they serve everyone with a smile and make sure that customers are satisfied with their food. Will definitely be coming back again!

I recently ordered from nandos George street through Deliveroo, and I am beyond disappointed with the service. I ordered my favorite treat—your salted caramel brownie—but it was missing from the delivery. This isn't just any brownie for me; it's my go-to indulgence, and not having it in my order was a real letdown. On top of that, I specifically asked for peri peri salt to be provided on the side in a sachet with my chips, but my instructions were ignored. I like to add the peri peri salt myself because you tend to add too much, and this time I couldn't enjoy my chips the way I prefer. When I opened the bag to find these items missing, it really brought down my mood, reminding me of a previous negative experience with my last order from George Street. I tried calling the restaurant multiple times to ensure my instructions were received and that nothing was missing, but no one bothered to answer the phone. I even reached out to Nandos customer service, asking them to contact the restaurant or pass along my message. Unfortunately, that request went ignored too. To make matters worse, the chips arrived a bit cold. While I understand that some heat loss is expected with delivery, the combination of missing items and my unaddressed concerns left me feeling overwhelmed and upset. I believe I deserve compensation for this poor experience. I've tried to get it right from my side, and this simple order ended up feeling like a frustrating ordeal.

Friendly but completely inept staff. Ridiculous delays in service just kept on stacking up. Totally cold chips, not good...

As my first time in Nando’s after a friend recommended it to me, I was really happy with their offerings and it’s so nice that you get as many refills of refreshments as you like.

Our server Alex was super friendly and vibrant. The customer service we received from the moment we walked in was amazing. Fast service and great food!

The staff just stare in to space, a few of them look half baked and my food was sat on the counter for ages so I after 20 mins I had to get my own food. Nando’s you really need to look at employing students who don’t smoke a bong before attending work. Toilets are a mess as well, worst Nando’s I have ever stepped foot in! Vile!

Ordered some food off Deliveroo and it came with a free bottle of hot sauce that had “enjoy” written on it. These people are doing gods work.

Honestly been a while since I have seen a host as warm and inviting as Alex! Food was delivered speedily, good atmosphere and like I said, excellent service!

AVOID! Recently visited this establishment to have a catch-up dinner with some pals. We all left dejected, disappointed and frankly upset. Firstly, lets start with the service. The staff were friendly however the food took an absolute age to arrive. This is not the Nandos service I have come to expect. We waited 45 minutes for one of my friends meals and it looked rather sub-par on arrival. Secondly, lets move onto the food. I myself had a kids meal. There was not enough substance on the plate to satisfy even a small toddler. I only had this because the cost of any other meal made me feel sick to my stomach. £15.10 for a main and 2 sides is an abysmal price, especially during the cozzie livs. In conclusion, I suggest AVOIDING this Nandos. Go somewhere else where the service is fast and the food is delicious and at a better price.

Friendly service. Was able to use more than half my gift card. Food was nice. Can fill your Coca-Cola in a machine and add ice.

The chicken platter is great, good range with keto options.could be my next considered dining spot.

It's a Nanos, so this review is relative to the average branch. It's got a better better atmosphere than their restaurants in London, and most large cities. Conveniently located for the coach station. Mostly chicken, but recently Nandos has added vegetarian and vegan.options.

Really irritated now. Past two orders from this resturant have both been messed up. Incorrect items. Missing items and Cold food.

Food was nice, but the service was slow. The cashier who took my order was not nice. No smile or greet from her even though I was greeting her and smiling.

We got there and server said 30 min wait but didn’t get seated for an hour ; if she would’ve been honest we might not have waited. The order also took exactly 35 min , such a long wait. I like food but service was bad

The food is regular to be honest but this Nando’s has THE most outstanding service we have ever experienced at any other place. It is genuinely so nice knowing you are in good hands here. Something went a bit wrong with our order tonight and the team there couldn’t help enough they went above and beyond and they do so every single time we visit. The environment is not clean. The food is not delicious. The atmosphere is like a country restaurant from a movie.

Staff are shockingly disinterested and rude. Restaurant was not busy at all and the team on duty almost couldn’t care less about what they were doing. Trudging up and down the restaurant occasionally stopping to lean and pick their nails or sigh as they glazed out the window. Meanwhile there’s food sitting on the pass and hair clinging to the ice machine. Wow. Will not bother coming back. Single waitresses whole body language made me uncomfortable every time she sauntered past, not bothering to even smile.

What a horrible experience! It takes forever to get a table, to get the food, ordering is a pain and the kitchen is a caos, they bring you the wrong order, just absolutely horrible, especially when you’re hungry… you should run away very far from this place…

Waited 30 minutes for half chicken with garlic bread and chips, also houmous and drizzle which was only 2 pitas without houmous. Please pay more attention on takeaway orders, other than that its all good.

Got a chicken sandwich. Prices here are higher than other local restaurants, for very substandard food. Bread was stale and chalky. Sides are decent, but super small quantities. Had the chocolate cake which was decently sized but very lacking in flavor. Service is on the slower side. The unlimited fountain drinks are well priced. Well located and ample seating area.

We, a table of three, arrived at 17:35 on a Tuesday and had ordered by 17:45. The venue was on the lower end of busy. However it certainly didn’t have the staff to cope, with only three people on. This had changed by 18:00 when a person who looked to be a manager and more chefs and staff arrived. This however made little difference, accept gave us a larger variety of people to complain too. We ordered ten chicken wings, with peri-salt chips and a corn on the cob, which my sister gives a 4/5. My Mother ordered the butterfly chicken, with peri-salt chips and cole slaw, which she rates 3/5. The reason for this mid-range ranking was that the chips were luke-warm, which we normally would have sent back if we hadn’t waited so long to receive, more on that in the next paragraph. I ordered the four crispy chicken thighs, with garlic bread and peri-salt chips which I give 4/5. The food overall was good. However it was the service which was poor. Being a Nando’s we are obviously expected to get our own cutlery and napkins and pour our own drinks, as we ordered the bottomless soft drinks. This is fine and standard. We were seated on a table which was dirty, with remnants of the last seating’s food still present. We asked for the table to be sprayed which the staff were happy to do. Ten minutes after ordering, with no appearance of any glasses for these drinks, I figured we would make more haste if I asked for the glasses. A further twenty minutes go by and no sign of the food. We pull over a member of staff to ask about its wear about to discover it hadn’t started cooking and had been missed. Having waited a while, the hangry-ness started setting in. A further fifteen minutes go by until our food is finally delivered. Our plates were cleared and we swiftly left having spent far more time in Nando’s than we had expected. Overall a sub-par experience and next time I’m in Oxford will be visiting the Nando’s in the Westgate shopping centre to see if they provide a more efficient and enjoyable experience. 🟦 Having ordered the meal through the Nando’s app American Express cards were accepted. However, I’m unsure if you order and pay at the till if they are accepted, but would be surprised if they were not.

Service was slow to start, had to go and ask for the bottle of wine. Otherwwise good after.

Worst Nando’s we’ve ever visited, staff were like robots, not one smile was given. Our food took over 30 mins to arrive, we had to ask for the drinks after 20 minutes. One of our family orders was cancelled twice without telling us, on the third attempt the order was wrong, took another 10 minutes of negotiation with a rude member of staff to eventually get a refund for one burger. We will not be returning

So I am used to the South african standard.. the food here is far too sweet.. the extra hot quarter chicken o ordered was really not up to nandos standard.. also.. the manager made an exception to remove the skin.. as this is not *the standard" what? Really?? Very disappointed.. nandos here not home away from home😔

First time visiting Oxford, and I'm really happy to find a Nandos near where we parked and enjoyed some chicken livers 😋 I know it's not for everyone, but it's really tasty.

Surprisingly poor visit to a Nando’s… maybe bad timing but the food took over half an hour to arrive, one dish was cold by that point, obviously been sat around a while. Ice cream machine broken but alternatives were provided. Wouldn’t rush back…

The service to sit down was fast and good, ordered on the app, and received food in about 35 minutes apart from my wrap, which took another 10 minutes. Food was hot and flavourful, Staff where helpfully and clean throughout.

Thank you for the lovely gentleman at the door who absolutely saved the day by letting my son use your toilet facilities. We will be back for dinner soon!

They take ages to bring the food

If you want to try the best chargrilled chicken of Nando's this is the must visit branch. I've been to several branches of Nando's in and out of UK, this is by far the branch which has the tastiest chicken and food- their portugese rolls and liver is superb too. Their staff/employees are very courteous and warm too. We enjoyed our dinner. Thank you so much!

Very delicious food but I ordered the dessert at 3:30 pm and arrived at 4:15 pm after my son insisted .And the location was not crowded at all.

Nandos is a very nice restaurant with delicious chicken. This one had lower prices than most restaurants in Oxford and wasn't very busy. We ordered whole grilled chicken shared 😋 it came really fast, and it was tasty. Staff is nice and friendly :)

The hospitality that Danish the manager gave us was immaculate. The restaurant was welcoming and clean, well looked after, and the food was great. Lovely dessert aswell!

Just looking for a quick munch before we caught the train. We were the only people there at 11:45 am so tell me why it took over 30 mins to get two take away wraps no sides. sense of urgency And my wrap wasn’t closed properly so I couldn’t even eat it I am nandos biggest fan and couldn’t wait to take my friend there for his first time but this was sad

The taste is as great as other Nandos. But I felt the chicken thighs are smaller when compared to other outlets.

Chips is unacceptable soggy and oily. Quality does not match with price would not recommended

I had heard lots about Nando, so I was very excited to try it. however, in all honesty, it was very disappointing. The flavors were pretty bland, and overall it was quite expensive for the portions we were given. It was nothing terrible, but would not recommend or want to come again.

First time Nando customer and maybe the last! Service was poor...food was sitting on the shelf for nearly 15mins before we asked about it. Same happened to customers before and after us. Plus the Saka sauce is dreadful.

Saw a guy taking big drugs in the car park opposite. Nando's, however, provided addictive chicken and chips, but appears to be part of an at least local (UK wide?) conspiracy to eradicate garlic bread. There was no garlic bread. Witnessing hard drug use did not spoil our overall experience dining at Nando's although it did, and still does to some degree, work as an opener and/or closer to a review. Cyclists get in the way everywhere it seems but not around this particular Nando's.

This is the second time this nandos branch is closed and it’s advertised as open. Both instances no update on the door to let customers know.

Had a baffling experience at this branch. It doesn't really feel like a Nando's, more like a badly managed independent restaurant with logistics problems. I can't tell if they're being let down by head office, or if the manager and staff here don't know what they are doing. There's a massive queue to be seated, the staff seem really tense and get quite snappy and passive aggressive with you, the atmosphere is quite uptight. Nando's is 9/10 times a self-seating and laid back place so it just stands out like a sore thumb from other branches. Needs a team away day and rethink.

An exceptional location for an enjoyable and relaxed dinner. At a price for under £35 for two. Very enjoyable meal. Brilliant service from manager “Sal”. For a casual and very affordable meal .. speedily delivered .. friendly service ... this place takes some beating. Highly recommended.

Cannot express how professional the staff were during my visit last weekend. Everything was spot on, timeless and perfect.

Great food. Friendly staff. The only recommendation I would give is the welcome staff's communication wasn't fully clear and we were sitted quite later than it's expected and we missed 10 minutes of our event we were going to attend. Food was delicious and as we ordered.

Revisited this Nando's after 14 years! The food is still just as delicious, the service just as warm, and the interiors just as fresh, as my nostalgia serves me!

Never in my life have I seen so many ready plates remain under a heat lamp while the staff stand idly in front of them.

Chicken was completely overcooked—some parts had already turned black and inedible. Service wasn’t good either, maybe there were too many people that night, but I still definitely won’t come back again.

Ignorant staff, insist that it’s busy and can’t take order, force me to use the very difficult scan code and manually put in card details. Take more than half an hour for a easy chicken order

They were slow to serve my friends. The waiter seemed to have forgotten about our order. However, they have a good sitting space. Their food does taste good.

It's a really nice restaurant with friendly staff. I love their chicken tights and the plethora of sauces to select from. There are vegetarian options as well in the menu.

Lively and busy. Nice experience - happy to try a popular British chain restaurant. Each person has a different opinion, so the best thing to do is give it at least a try and see for yourself :)

Absolutely rubbish service. We ordered through the Nando's app which is why I am leaving a review here. My colleagues and I ordered to our office on site at the college providing the delivery address and location too a tee, this was ignored and common sense was non existent. The delivery driver decided to call my colleague from a Leeds based number which looked exactly like a scam call, and when they didn't answer decided to mark the order as delivered and leave it outside the gates of a busy open campus public college. This was obviously stolen almost immediately. When the helpline was rung to ask about our delivery we were told there was nothing they could do, we should have picked up the phone and we were welcome to place another order. Perhaps your policy should be updated to include that you take no responsibility for the lack of common sense from your delivery drivers as that is apparently a severely needed amendment.

Was turned away at the door as they couldn't seat our party of four, as they only had tables of five, thus we needed another person. I know it's a business, but turning away customers for being short one person is mad. The guy we spoke to us was very rude, and frankly couldn't be bothered. He turned away three other groups for the same reason, leaving tables empty, just in case a party of 5 came in.

Must be one of the worst Nando’s in the country. Tiny kitchen that couldn’t cope. One table actually left without food which they’d paid for! We waited forever for two adults and two kids meals. No toilet paper in the toilets either which is a nightmare with kids. Shouldn’t really be a restaurant

Food was lovely as usual but they somehow got the orders mixed up and put the spicy sides on with the non spicy chicken! Service was ok, atmosphere was a bit flat for a Friday evening.
