Nando's in West Berkshire

First time at Nando’s the ladies who served us was great explained everything and even helped with ordering via the app which was good. Food arrived in a timely manner and was second to none. Great food Great service Clean environment what more can you ask for .

Flynn was an absolute darling, great service, food was amazing!! Didnt have to wait long whatsoever. Definitely recommend and definitely would go back x

Great food as always , but STILL no hot drinks! Come on Nando’s you can do better. Not everybody wants a cold sugary drink on a cold winter’s night.

No hot drinks, reallu dissapointing. Poor menu, who goes out for a meal with no hot drinks available. Give it a miss Latte lovers.

It was the best experience due to service of all staff especially Alana who was very professional and friendly. I updated order 3 or 4 times she did not mind, was very helpful and understanding.

My Son and I went for lunch and ordered at the tills. We ordered from the children’s menu (pointed to it even) for him and the adults menu for me. I thought the price was expensive so I decided to check my receipt to find out that they charged me for an adults meal. I paid by gift card so was told I could have a £5 voucher emailed to me only (they owed me more than that). We then had to wait for 20 minutes for his ice cream to be served. Customer Service and staffing is not at it’s best in this place

Great food however the service is a lot to be desired. Food all over the floor that nobody cleaned and lots of people standing around when there was food waiting to be served. Also having staff who were off shift (I know this as the girl then went and changed into her uniform) sat at the tables with their own food making a massive mess doesn’t make the venue inviting for guests. A shame the service was lacking as the food was great (though the spicy rice had run out!)

Absolutely dreadful food and even worse service. Had to order on the app, took 20 minutes for our glasses to arrive for the soda machine. Food is mediocre, one of party was unwell when they got home. 2 of the fizzy drinks had run out. Definitely won’t be visiting again.

Popped in for a takeaway wanted a 1/2 chicken and two sides - salad and coleslaw- get informed no salad or coleslaw 😞 Wtf what sort of joint is this how do you run out of salad - not impressed

I placed an order through just eat this is the second time the food has arrived cold. This time food was missing from our order I rang Nandos and they were not a bit interested.considering we have visited this resident quite frequently this will be the last time.I cannot believe the food was missing and the salad was hotter than the corn on the cob and chips!

Being South African and remembering the great taste of flame grilled chicken from back in the day, my wife and I thought it would be a great idea to pop in for a Nando's meal. My greatness, what an awful meal. My chicken burger looked about half the size of a regular burger, the bun was so hard I almost tore a jaw ligament and the chicken was tasteless and probably microwaved. My wife had a chicken wrap, it was also rather small and not very tasty. On our way out, I noticed no flame grills behind the counter, I remember Nando's of old would always have the food cooked on the grills in site of the customer. Perhaps the food is now microwaved in the back. I would rather eat our chicken meals from the local kebab shop in future as it would be tastier and better value for money.

I am writing this review as I went to Nando’s in Dubai- Marina last month and I had THE best chicken with lemon&herbs ever.The food in Newbury Nando’s is absolutely different story( in bad way) have a taste and see. I am picking Alana here as she was the only person with smile on her face in whole restaurant and she was also very helpful when I had special request regarding to my daughter’s bun. Thank you

A nice Nando’s with the usual quick & efficient service. A great range of items for dietary requirements, including multiple vegetarian & vegan options. I tried the plant-based Rainbow bowl with added PERi-Plant strips & was very impressed - a decent sized portion, great flavours/textures & a delicious vegan-friendly meal.

Had lunch , food good , quick service what more could you want. Think always best to go when not busy that way food is always much better

Went here with the family as we have good memories of Nando's from many years ago. To say we were all disappointed is an understatement. Buns you cannot chew, chicken so tough I was struggling with even a knife to cut and drinks that were lukewarm. I mean who serves wine in a can and in a coke glass, seriously. Taste was mediocre at best. But dry and tough chicken. Poor.

Apparently, all Nando's restaurants no longer serve hot drinks, which is a disappointment. I don't like fizzy/cold drinks with my meal and it leaves you going somewhere else and paying again, just to get coffee! We looked forward to having a nice latte with our meal but this new policy of no hot drinks is puzzling...However, the food was very good and the service efficient. Not sure if I would return, due to the drinks issue though. You can get almost the same menu at a Harvester WITH hot drinks!

So, having ventured out to a restaurant for only the second time since lock-down we ended up at Nando’s for a take away to celebrate a birthday. The intention was to have a nice meal but that was where it started going wrong. Turning up at the allotted time we were told that our meal wasn’t ready and we had to wait in the corridor outside the restaurant. After about 10 minutes we received our order for 4 x people and took it home with great anticipation.Good News – Everything was there but the Bad News was that it was truly AWFUL. The Chicken was cooked (Just) but had no colour or crispness, in fact it reminded me of a microwave texture. The taste was somewhat there but after a few bites everyone decided to focus mainly on the sides, which were nice.The Chicken was AWFUL and the Sides were Nice. Not good for a Chicken Restaurant……After complaining to the Newbury Restaurant I have e-mailed Nando’s HQ as requested. 5+ times and counting over a period of 2 x weeks and we still have not had a response?!?!? £60 Wasted – Birthday Meal Ruined – Ignored by e-mail – Thanks Nando’s, this experience will be remembered by us always and it will be shared with others so they don’t get treated the same way.

The food was great as always, and we were offered our refills on our drinks which was good, and the man who sat us down was very friendly. I don’t understand how you cannot offer a children’s menu at the moment? I know it’s limited but you do the butterfly chicken and chips etc? We were told we had to order on our phones which didn’t work. We never got told that we could order at the counter, which we did in the end as both me and my husband couldn’t seem to order through our phones, this information would have been better us being told when we were sat down. However I did feel uncomfortable about the introduction of the table runners, especially hearing that they do not get changed after every sitting. Our child straight away started fiddling with it so we removed it from the table. I don’t understand how this soft furnishing has been sanctioned during covid to be on the tables, as I do not believe they can be fully sanitised between customers. My husband did discuss this with the manager who seemed very dismissive of our concerns. I don’t think I will be dining in again any time soon but I will prob still order a take aways.

We would like to say a massive thank you to Nandos Newbury for the great service yesterday. We did not realise that you had to order online so when we got there we ordered it straight away and expected a long wait.We were greeted by a very nice gentleman (we didn't get his name but we know he got married 9 days before lock down lol) He was very chatty and so kind. He pushed our order straight to the top of the list and got it ready within minutes.The service we got was amazing and we walked away very happy.Its a crazy world out there at the moment but people like him put a smile on peoples faces :)

Regularly attend this Nando’s and have had many take outs too. Food is always good and staff are pleasant. Clean toilets and have seen them deep cleaning the restaurant regularly.

Family of 5 ordered at 5.30pm. 2 meals arrived closely followed by another 2 meals, 1 was missing its side. After nearly 10 minutes l went to the counter to find out where the 5th meal was. It was still cooking. No apology. The missing side and the side for the missing chicken then arrived. A short apology was delivered with the missing chicken.Not impressed. Food was ok tho

Its our first anniversary so we thought why not have a Nando’s. We came in to restaurant today and there was only 4/5 people in there we got seated straight away, ordered our food and sat back down. After that a group of 8 woman walked in and ordered then a family of four after five minutes. They all managed to get served before us. when I finally got up 50 minutes later to ask what was going on I got nothing but a person with bad attitude telling me that they were waiting on chicken. I had no communication before hand or any correspondence to why I was actually waiting! Got a refund and left. Will not be visiting again. Don’t visit!

Good butterfly chicken (mu usual choice) however seemed to be topped with something rather hot that it had never been previously. Not an issue as I always remove the skin. Good serving of rice and salad and our usual refill soft drinks.

After waiting 55 minutes they managed to bring wrong food. Replaced it with burned wings. Horrible experience, stay away!

I went with my son who loves Nandos. We waited less than 15 minutes for our food to arrive. I really liked the fact that my 9yrs old son was treated like a guest not overlooked as children often are at the restaurants.

The food is always great but more importantly the service is always fantastic here! There's only been a small handful of occasions where food has been delayed and they've always been very upfront and apologetic. Don't forget if you work for the NHS you get money off as well!

Nando’s commonly is associated mainly with chicken but the vegetarian options are also just as great. I had the super green wrap in medium with peri salted chips and macho peas which tasted really good! The wrap was jam packed and just all round had a lovely taste! My partner had the sunset burger and agreed that his was brilliant. The service was really quick and the staff were lovely! Will definitely be coming back.

For a “fast food” chain I think the quality and customer service you get really does take some beating. Yes if you go at peak times it can be a bit noisy but that’s not the fault of the staff who always have a smile. Forget KFC if you want freshly prepared chicken with a great taste - this is the place to go.

My husband and I had lunch in Nandos Newbury. Cutleries were filthy so we complained to the staff. We washed our plates and cutleries. Extra hot sauce in not very hot as use to be. Never come back again.

Mmmm is this just expensive KFC? Don’t get me wrong the food was good but I just think it’s expensive for what is Great staff very professional and helpful

I think Nando's are one of the very few big-chain names...that actually could give chain restaurants a good name. Limited in what they actually offer on the menu (chicken and...well, chicken) they do what they do very well, serving up well cooked, tasty meals that are uncomplicated, and are value for money. I had the opportunity of eating at the very first Nando's store when it first opened in Johannesburg over thirty years ago, and can say that the quality and taste of what they were serving then has not really changed after all these years, even in the stores in different countries. You get what it says on the menu. Simple in its approach, unpretentious in its proposition, value in its offer. What more can you want?

Friendly staff, quick service and really tasty chicken. A really pleasant meal. No longer offer the piri piri gravy though, which is a shame!

We always order the grilled chicken with some sides. Prompt service, quick enough to keep my toddler patient ;) And tasty food.

I like Nandos as a brand and generally never have any issues with the service and quality of the food. However, with this Nandos I found it much better than anything i had tried previously. The chicken was so moist and flavoursome and the wings were tremendous.

Had a meal here between Christmas and New Years, it was a busy night but staff seemed to cope well and we were served our food about 10 minutes after ordering (although advised it may take longer).

Dropped in for lunch in a Thursday. Very quiet. Lots of spare tables. Shown to a table. The ordering system had to be explained to us, our first visit to an Nandos.

Our daughter chose this venue for her birthday celebration and generally it was fine. A table had been reserved and there was no rush from the staff to move the girls on. The food itself was pretty standard for Nandos and the service a bit slow and inattentive. That said, it was clearly very popular.

I rang at 15:00 to book a table for 7 people at 7, turned up at 7 and on a busy Friday we then had to wait 15/20 minutes for a table,

Your usual Nando's food in a nice restaurant and even though the place was quite busy, three plates of food arrived very quickly which was just what we needed!

A nice branch of Nando’s, with a clean, spacious interior & a good mix of stand-alone tables & booth seating. As always, the service was quick & our food was tasty & great value for money. Caters surprisingly well for vegetarian & vegan diners, with a number of meat/dairy-free options, including the delicious supergreen burger (when ordered without mayo). Overall, a great choice for a quick, well-priced, filling meal

This Nandos is convenient for eating before visiting the local Vue. Best to arrive early as by the time we left (7.00pm) there were queues waiting.

Because of its location in Newbury it is ideally situated at the entrance to the Vue cinema so to take in a movie and Nandos is a popular choice!! been here on numerous occasions and once you get to grips with the menu, which the staff do explain it to you if you haven't been before. The food is always lovely and hot and plenty of it for a reasonable price, you can choose how many sides you have, i have also on a number of occasions had the salads which if you are watching the waistline are very good. All in all the food is excellent, very good value meal!!!

Went in the evening and generally enjoyed it though slightly excessive air conditioning.Food generally good and washed down with some cold beers.Not that exciting but my daughter loved it.

We have been to Nando’s on a good few occasions but we felt that we wanted to give a special mention to Tinashe. As we arrived he came straight over and welcomed us, he then saw a queue and jumped on the till to serve us. We were eating in but wanted a takeaway for my son. He watched us to notice when we had finished our meal and then asked the chef to get the takeaway meal ready. Very impressed with the service. You did a great job and thank you.

Having visited this Nando’s several times before never really had an issue until the last few times. Tonight we ordered food they brought out the main course of 10 wing roulette as a starter then when we corrected the guy he apologised and stuck it back on the hot plate. He then presented the dried up chicken with my meal, I promptly refused the chicken the waiter was a bit gormless and didn’t seem to know what to do. I approached a manager who offered to exchange the meals as I pointed out mine would be cold by the time they had exchanged. She told us quote ‘ we are busy so the food is not as hot as normal ‘ a pretty rubbish answer for poor service and food. Standards should not drop just because it’s busy they control the flow of customers coming in. But then I guess the tolls wouldn’t ring quite so hard not happy it was the worst Nando’s we have had and she only asked if it was ok when she saw I had left half my meal.

We have taken the boys (12yrs and 15yrs) to Nandos a couple of times now and they love it there. The bottomless soft drinks (0 sugar) and frozen yogurt (0 fat) a particular favourite with them and us for having healthier options.

Been here with kids and work colleagues....its consistent and the staff are very good but I can't help feeling that it's a little overpriced

Hadn’t been for about 12 years last at Stratford east London restaurant. Can’t remember it being as average as tonight’s was. Not the best welcome little bit too take it or leave it.

Kids love it here, lots of choice, plenty of it. Food is ok, wouldn't go here for a special occasion but it's good value and you know what your getting.

I really really like Nandos, its normally my favorite place to eat out - BUT the Newbury restaurant, being my local Nandos, is so good! I have never had a disappointing experience and the staff are so friendly and always happy to help. The restaurant itself is always clean and is very spacious, with a great range of booths and table sizes!

From walking in the door to leaving the service couldn't have been better, the manager Stephen was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Food great! Will be back for sure.

Me and my fiance came here for lunch, both had vegetarian food which was lovely. Really enjoyed it, wasn't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Staff were also very friendly. Restaurant was tidy and clean

A quick family meal on a lazy Saturday evening. The food was good but predictable because it is essentially a fast food chicken restaurant.

Had a nice meal, however the service was much slower than usual. Normally would get asked if we would like dessert at the table but waited ages to no avail so gave up and left

I went here for a family meal. which, having not been in a Nando's for many years, was a bit of a challenge to work out all the options and then remember them all to order at the counter. It'll be better next time, now I understand the system and the options.Although it has a street frontage, the entrance is in the shopping centre, again not obvious on a first visit, but now I know. The décor plays to the Southern African theme in a variety of colourful ways. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was good and served at the table. We had the mains, each with two side dishes, which was quite substantial and then a dessert with ice cream. Nando's is famous for its peri peri chilli marinade and sauces which come in a variety of strengths from mild to hot hot hot.A limited range of wines and some unusual beers, I guess most of the people who dine there go for the soft drinks, where you can have free refills.

Some may not agree but in it's class, this is a great place to eat. It's quick, easy, reasonably priced and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Occasionally for the take away, you do find there are items missing but you can re-check before you leave and they will rectify it. My only complaint would be that the salad needs a little updating, green leaves, one or two pieces of tomato and cucumber is not really a salad. Otherwise, I can't complain!

For a fast food place, service is friendly and venue is nice. Food is always well cooked and hot. Good for a quick dinner after work.

Visited here many times before and every time same mistake is made the food is served very fast and cooked perfectly however the one thing that bugs me is how quick the staff are to pester you as to wether you have finished or not I had finished my meal and within seconds a staff member was asking if they could take our plates and seeing if there was anything else they could do for us rather than give us a few minutes to let the food go down I will say I'm confused about the reviews I've seen on here saying the place is disorganised as if anything they are very organised I recommend avoiding on weekends because of how busy it gets and is only a small restaurant

Came in just after 4pm, was very quiet with only 3 other tables being used. Despite this my order took over 15 minutes to arrive. The perinaise dip was missing so he had to go back & get one. I couldn't finish my meal so wanted a bag for half of my wrap to take with me. But no one had come to ask how my meal was or if I'd finished it. Staff were just chatting to themselves. Eventually the late shift staff started and a waitress came over and was very helpful. I will pop back in again, hopefully the service will be better

The service was very good and only a very short wait for the food. The chicken (plainish spice level) was just the right "heat". The atmosphere was not very good - the music was too loud and I did not like the style. A little expensive for what was provided.

We came here for a treat after the cinema.Kids meal was ok although not the sauce that we asked for.The adult wrap was really terrible, barely any chicken and sweet potato wedges were cold, floppy and huge. The wings were borderline undercooked the skin stretchey and hard to eat. Gross. It's like the kids working in there didn't give a ****. Although we spent £50 of hard earned money. We didn't eat hardly any and went home and cooked our own. Shame.

Came in for a treat after visiting the cinema upstairs. Food was excellent, as usual for Nando's. However, we ordered two starters. One came very quickly, the other we had to chase. It eventually turned up moments before the main course.We had the sharing platter. This arrived on one plate. They did not provide separate plates for us to eat off, which made it a little awkward.

I've only been to this Nando's once and I have not been back since. They gave me a really rubbish piece of chicken and I had to complain.

I live for the sweet potato wedges but they were served all hard and dry as if they were microwaved.I sent them back and received a new plate that were exactly the same! Completely inedible and I'm gutted :(

Popped in for a takeaway and although the food was fine the service in this branch is so hit & miss. This visit it was a miss. Nobody at till to serve us for ages & the person who did was really struggling to process our order. Waited a long a long time for food despite it not being busy.

We used to like Nando's in Newbury, but our last two experiences were terrible. Orders take forever, the staff are unfriendly and when you make a complaint they are even more unhelpful. The food is also not what it used to be...when you ask for cheese it's a measly scrap of cheese, the pregos are chewy and they skimp on the amount of chicken in a wrap. Not sure what's going on, but we are sure they can do better!

We came here at lunch time on a Thursday and it was the quietest Nandos I've been too, it was amazing week day lunch times are the way forward! Had a yummy butterfly chicken and pineapple on top with a salad and chips! Yum yum yum!! Nandos rules!!

This place convinced me that I actually like chicken. I was never a fan but here I changed my mind. I had a burger with sides and my partner had chicken strips with sides. Totally try as many sides as you can (piri piri chips - lush). However, if you are not a spicy food lover then you better order mild version and take the least hot sauce - they are hot anyway :)

I had dinner here the other day.If you have been to a Nandos, this one is like the others - predictable. Food was good. Staff were great. Comfy seating with tasty food that you would like to hope is not quite as bad for you as many other chains.If you haven't been to Nandos, you should give it a try.

Not keen on very spicy food so chose the "plain" (not grilled with sauce) but still a little hot. I thought it quite expensive for what was provided. Was OK for occasional visit but would not want to eat there regularly.

Reasonable service, Mid price, consistent food. Service friendly. However I do wish the music wouldn't be played quite so loudly.

If you want posh chicken n chips then Cote Brasserie is the place to go but if it's an overload of fingerlickin' chicken, corn, salads and hot hot sauces then Nandos is the place. Fast service, tasty food and reasonably priced. Well situated for cinema goers and shoppers alike. Staff friendly and the place is clean and tidy.

Popped in around 4pm as it was nice & quiet. Waitress wasn't particularly happy and gave me a seat in a dark area, so I moved to one of my choice, never saw her again. Went for the boneless thighs with chips & corn and a pineapple ring. Everything perfect today, washed down with a couple of cokes. Will be going back soon as I've a free whole chicken on the loyalty card, got to love Nandos!

Went here for first time, chicken was dry, chips were cold and waitress would not listen to our complaint. Would never recommend anyone to go there. We will never go again.

The waitress was very nice and helpful, since it was my first time at Nando's. I chose medium peri-piri and it was right on spot...spicy but still able to taste the chicken flavour. You can also refill soft drinks without extra cost

I visited this restaurant for a birthday meal and as both my daughters are big fans of Nando's it was decided to visit the most local establishment.The service was very quick and the food of a very good standard, I couldn't fault the customer service as everybody that I dealt with were pleasant and helpful.The restaurant was clean and tidy and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the cost of the meal.
