NAM in Edinburgh, City of

Popped in last night as it was close to our hotel and we were starving. Never had Vietnamese food before and it didn’t disappoint. Food great service great and lovely quiet atmosphere. Will be back on the next visit!

My FAVOURITE restaurant in Edinburgh! Nam serve the freshest and most delicious Vietnamese food I have ever tasted! All their dishes are perfectly balanced and so flavorful! The service is amazing and everyone is so lovely and hospitable! Great value for money! If you’re in Edinburgh it is a must visit!

Brilliant spot with amazing food and most memorably, really kind and attentive staff. The fried spring rolls were really good, a little different from ones I’ve had but fantastic. While I’m not a massive of pho I could appreciate that it was brilliantly made, with a beautiful smell and broth taste, a little aniseedy. And the banh mi was fantastic and very generous - the meat was incredible, the sauces creamy; the only bit of feedback I’d give is that it was missing the acid I usually expect from the pickled vegetables. Thanks for a great dinner.

Have eaten at Nam on multiple occasions and never been disappointed. There is not a bad dish on the menu (and I’ve probably tried it all). The food is well presented and absolutely delicious and the quality of service matches the food.

It was my first time at NAM and definitely will be back. The food was great and the service very friendly. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and doesn't feel rushed. We loved the house special - lotus chicken.

We have been to Nam nany times now and love the freshly prepared vietnamese food and the friendly, attentive service. We've particularly enjoyed the fresh spring rolls, pho and pork caramel (and always a lemon grass mojito or two !)

Best seafood noodles in Scotland and even the UK

I took my friend here several times. The fresh spring rolls, deep fried spring rolls and fish cakes were very delicious. I loved beef and beef ball pho soup. The most delicious dish was the chicken rice wrapped in lotus leaves. The vegetarian version, tofu and rice wrapped in lotus leaves, was even better! The Vietnamese coffee is very good fun and delicious! Here serves the best Vietnamese food in Edinburgh.

Wonderful food, we stopped for a meal 40 minutes before closing, and Mehra accommodated us very well. Delicious chicken and shrimp pho, great garnishings and very fresh in terms of flavour. The caramelised pork belly with rice was very tender and delicious.

Amazing food and friendly service! We had the fish cakes and the fresh spring rolls as starters and the noodle salad and duck noodle soup for mains. Forgot to take pictures of the mains, but everything was fresh and the portions were massive, we even have leftovers to take away! Definitely recommend.

I was walking and I looked up and saw NAM. The food was delicious, the menu has unique dishes that I have only seen once in Canada . I had the Bun BBQ Pork, a lots of vegetables, the fish sauce wasn’t too sweet. I ate the whole thing and I felt great! Feels like home but a little better!

Lovely atmosphere and super friendly staff, with heartwarming dishes. The dipping sauces were excellent, and the slow braised pork belly in caramelised sauce melts in your mouth. The fried spring rolls are crunchy and very flavoursome. We'll definitely be back for more!

i’ve lived in edinburgh and london and between the two places this was one of the most delicious meals i’ve had out omg. i’m vegan i had the tofu pho (if you don’t eat meat then specify this because the default broth is meat based) and also tried the lotus leaf sticky rice and tofu. both were amazing. both the cocktails were also incredible (the lychee margarita and the lemongrass mojito). highly recommend

This place is so cute! I love Vietnamese food and saw this place and it had great reviews. It did not disappoint, the food was amazing and the service is was excellent. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the restaurant has such a comforting atmosphere with beautiful art. I recommend the friend spring rolls and noodle bowl! You should make a reservation.

Great if eating in but 1 hr for delivery meant hot food was no longer fresh when it arrived.

Fab restaurant, staff are super friendly and helpful in suggestions if needed. Food is super fresh and portions are huge! Had the beef noodle soup - delicious and the chicken with fried rice. Super tasty! Siracha on the table if needed and adds extra spice, over delicious. Best part super filling yet no bloated feeling after!

Opens at 5pm perfect for a meal before the Edinburgh Military Tattoo or any show in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Very delicious Vietnamese food. Compliments to the chef!

I have been eating regularly at Nam for 4 years or so now and it is my go to stop for divine food with simply amazing flavour. All the staff are so friendly and chatty and it’s just a must visit. Crispy rolls are better than those in Vietnam and the Pho 🍜 is a dish of deliciousness to savour. If you are lucky enough to be in Edinburgh go give it a go, you will love it

A hidden gem, hadn’t been before and definitely will be back. Food tastes so fresh and full of flavour. We shared the fresh spring rolls and had warm noodle salad with bbq pork and the ginger chicken with rice. Loads of food, no complaints on any of the food and we left nicely stuffed. The staff are really cheery and helpful, they know the dishes well if you’re unsure what to have.

Great food, super friendly staff and fast service what more could you ask for?

My partner and I visited this place and ordered two chicken fried rice dishes, each costing £15. We expected the portions to be small, but they were actually huge! We had a hard time finishing our meals, so we ended up taking the leftovers home, which was great. The taste was a bit on the dry side, though. Also, I was surprised to find mushrooms in the chicken fried rice since that's not something I'm used to. Just a heads-up—they do charge a service fee, which it would have been nice to know about before ordering.

Feels a bit cramped, so I hope they can expand. Food tasted great!

I had dinner here twice in one week with my girlfriend and the food was divine twice. The Banh-mi, fried spring rolls and the Pho (duck) were delicious. The service was also top notch. Highly recommended!

Absolute gem of a local restaurant, delicious food and lovely people

Been here a fewer times last two years, was very happy with their Pho at the beginning, but it really has gone downhill. Besides soup, noddles n beef, there were no more topping like the very basic bean sprouts, only spring onions. The soup’s quality has also gone downhill a bit. Doesn’t worth the price. It’s still a bowl of acceptable soup noodles in UK, as the standard of food in this country is generally so low.

The food is plentiful and delicious. I ate food with seafood, and there was a lot of variety in it.

The fresh spring rolls were tasty and the sauce that came with a great match (but the sauce with the fish sauce was sadly absent). We both had beef pho and the meat was tender, but unfortunately not rare, which I overheard that they can't do, this maybe doesn't need to be the case! The pho was tasty and had a rich beef stock taste, but not the tastiest I've had! Would come back again!

I'm a Vietnamese American whose immediate and extended family has owned restaurants, and I can't rave enough about this place. I popped by for dinner and had some of the best beef pho I have ever had in my life. The chef is absolutely *lovely*, the place feels cozy yet classy, and the service was attentive but didn't hover too much. And they even had Vietnamese beers available! Amazing! I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Vietnamese cuisine. Thanks so much to the folks at Nam for an excellent meal and memory. Eating at Nam made my trip to Edinburgh extra special.

The food is very, very delicious! We ordered BÁNH MÌ, crispy bread with juicy and delicious BBQ pork, refreshing and delicious without burden! Dessert coconut flavored ice cream, super rich and delicious! The boss is very nice and the transportation is convenient. I will definitely visit this store again next time👍🏻

Best Vietnamese restaurant in Edinburgh! Make sure to try the fresh spring rolls. My wife had the chicken and beef pho and I had the lotus chicken. Great friendly atmosphere. Also try the margaritas! Must bring our friends soon.

One of the best meals we had during our time in Scotland. The pho was so flavorful and hearty, the spring rolls were fresh and delicious, and the fried rice was our absolute favorite of the night. The staff went out of their way to accommodate for food allergies and our toddler’s tastes and were so kind. They do a great job with gluten free options, just make sure to double check when the food comes to the table since some of the sauces (peanut sauce specifically for our order) should be avoided for those with a gluten allergy.

This past Friday, I dined in at Nam and had a truly wonderful experience both with the food, that was amazing, and with the welcoming and lovely staff we interacted with. All in all i and my group had a lovely time and no doubt we will be back soon enough :)

Popped in after the lady in the sister cafe,recommended we should visit. So we did.. the food was OK, the spring rolls where a bit rubbery, the seafood fried rice didn't have much flavours. And it was a little expensive considering.

First visit to NAM and it was absolutely lovely. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cosy and was well decorated with paintings. We ordered the beef pho, the caramelised pork belly and two cocktails and they all came in large portions. The waiting staff were all so lovely and attentive to my needs. Absolutely top class meal. Thee best fish cakes I’ve ever had! I went with the Duck noodle soup as a main and did not disappoint, 10/10 and a must try. Finished with a Vietnamese drip coffee 👌🏻 Three of us dined, two courses each plus the aforementioned coffee, large pot of ginger tea and two soft drinks each all for under £100!!

What an absolute treat this was. Food was super tasty and delicious. I can't wait to head back for the next outing to try other dishes. I don't eat fish. However, it wasn't a problem as there were lots of other dishes for me to explore. I'd definitely recommend the Pho was yummy. Already planning next visit. We dined as four and all couldn't decide what to eat so we all ordered different mains and dug in. So glad we shared as we got to try more that way. Thank you to the Nam team. Il see you soon.
