Nalu Coffee House in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

OMG!!! So glad we came across this little gem in Newquay, as we had to while away the morning whilst our car was in for a service at National Tyres & Autocare. We had a wonder down the hill toward Asda and a left turning toward the Main Street which took us to ‘NALU’ in Cliff Rd TR7 1SG named after a trip to Hawaii, meaning “surging wave” Alice and Laurel, (who are best friends and travelling companions) food & drink is soooo good with wholesome food, quality ingredients & that little bit of extra magic to elevate the flavours. Try it you won’t regret it! 👍🤗

A charming little cafe serving imaginative and beautifully presented dishes. The Maple french toast with banana is particularly good.

Really cute cafe with not much seating inside (there are some tables outside if the sun is shining)! Coffee was delicious and some of the best in Newquay. Food was tasty too!

Loved everything about this place, was a great discovery whilst here on holiday. It’s really well run and planned - from the great coffee and vegan breakfast options (tried them all!) to the lovely aesthetics of the space, the service, the chilled atmosphere. We would be in here all the time if we lived here.

Nice place, good food and good coffee. However expensive for the location and given the fact they didn’t serve us orange juices we ordered.

Arrived at the cafe for some early breakfast. Very quiet only my partner and myself inside when we arrived. Vibes on arrival where that they were not very interested in dealing with costumers so early. Ordered a breakfast wrap and Dragon Fruit Bircher Pot for my partner. Food was OK but my partner who is allergic to strawberries suspected there might be some in her dish. Asked the staff about it but they where unable to confirm the ingredients and did not seem bothered about this. Ingredients listed for the dish where overnight oats with dragon fruit, chia, blueberry compote, coconut yogurt, mango granola. Surely it should have been pretty simple to confirm 🤷‍♀️ Coffee was good but overall a strange breakfast experience.

The food here is tremendously delicious. A combination of flavours I didn't know I needed. I would definitely recommend this place.

If you're in Newquay, make sure you visit Nalu. I had the Beauty Bowl which was just delicious. There is a warm, friendly and intimate vibe created by the owner Alice and the staff. It was a real treat and I certainly want to return.

We stopped off at Newquay on our way home from beautiful Cornwall and popped into Nalu Coffee shop for breakfast. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the food was delicious, we can definately recommend the breakfast wrap and hot chocolate and it was great value for money. Nalu has plenty of seating outside, inside it has a style of it own with a boho vibe , loved it , thank you, we will definately be back 😊😊 x

This is a fantastic small coffee shop serving great food and brilliant service. I visited on my first time ever visiting Newquay and sampled the breakfast wrap, this was super tasty and filling. I spotted a poke bowl on the menu and had to go back for this, it was worth the trip, super fresh and super tasty. Just a side note that they also have a baby change even though they have one tiny toilet.

Amazing little spot with good options for allergies. The menu has rice bowls for people who are gluten free and their dragonfruit special is really nice. Very welcoming vibe with cute walk by window. Will be back!

An inventive menu ( both traditional and unusual) a bright appealing space, friendly and helpful staff and nearby parking, so many things make Nalu a great place to eat. I went for brunch with friends and it was sunny enough to eat outside- we could even see the sea. The coffee was extremely good and there was a great choice of smoothies as well. I was tempted by healthy yogurt and fruit but went for the breakfast bap with bacon, egg and hash brown. I’m so glad I did! It was well cooked and the egg had that great taste and golden yolk of a true free range one. The breakfast wrap looked wonderful and was pronounced delicious. The cafe had a cheerful feel, with a mixture of people picking up takeaway food or staying to eat. I’d definitely visit Nalu again and try some of the more unusual choices on their menu.

Just Wow ……. So on my early Sunday morning walk I crossed paths with this quite fabulous small independent, bohemian and adorable coffee shop. Alice the co-owner, has passion, talent and culinary skills to rival anywhere in the SW. a wonderful light breakfast offering. Lois , on the front of house was super attentive witty, Polite , and bang on point with her service - a breath of real Cornish fresh air , and the best coffee ever tasted . Only regret was it’s to early to devour one of the Poke bowls or Burritos being prepped for a very busy Sunday lunch for the surfers and locals, that have naturally made this place a Newquay mainstay already. Well done in your inaugural year. See you dreckly .

The food was amazing! We had a burrito and quesadilla and it tasted sooo good! As for the drinks, I can honestly say that my coffee was one of the best coffees I’ve had! Friendly staff and quick service. Nice chilled atmosphere and will be returning. Excellent prices too! Would definitely recommend for the perfect lunch!

Amazing finding on a short trip to Newquay. Looking for a coffee but ended to have an amazing breakfast. Everything very fresh, healthy and good options of home made food and cakes. Love the smoothies! Good decor and welcoming place. Very friendly staff.

Nalu is a new Hawaiian themed cafe in central Newquay. Good for takeaway or sit in. Beautiful decor. Interesting light meal menu. Quesadilla was delicious. Also excellent coffee. Staff were lovely.

We went for a coffee here on just its second day of business. The staff are lovely and the iced coffee we had was actually the best I've ever had! The décor is delightful, with some pictures by local artists and many very individual touches. They only have a few tables inside, but they do takeaways which you order via the serving window outside. It would be great if they could have some tables outside!
