N1 Bar London in Southwark

This is a fantastic place. Open very late, a good place to play pool. Perhaps a little on the loud side but the service is great and the staff fantastic. Great place.

There was a deal advertised on their website for an hour of pool with drinks and food which I was told they do not do when I asked about it on arrival, and I was met with a lot of attitude regarding it. They offered a discount before we played because of this which I thought was a nice gesture, but when we came to pay didn't honour it and acted as if it was never said. Wouldn't recommend going here, staff were rude and genuinely didn't listen to a word coming out of my mouth. Every time I spoke, even ordering a drink, it was met with a hostile response that had nothing to do with what I'd said - it also wasn't as if the music was loud / you couldn't hear. The pool tables are a bit too close together and the one I played on desperately needs to be re-carpeted.

Pros - it's open late, the security staff are friendly, no waiting for pool tables. Cons - it's generally a bit grubby, the pool tables are in poor condition, drinks are served in plastic cups. The pool tables are quite close together, the ping pong table is close to the pool table so ends up interrupting the game.

If you book they will make you wait, if there's a free table they make you wait, the staff are rude and it is very overpriced , they offered me a table for 15 minutes for £15..... save yourself the time, effort and money

Second time being at Number 1 bar and was as good as the first time. Always am enjoyable atmosphere at number 1 bar.

Supposed to be a sports bar that also screens F1.. we went to watch the Dutch GP, all screened were on football (supposed to start 3 hours later). Rude bartender who told us to go to elsewhere because he wanted to watch football

Staff were very rude and unhelpful. They didn't explain how to use or pay for the pool table properly at all. It was also too dark and music was very quiet. The place was basically empty.

Ok pool place. Tables are not in greatest shape but they are playable. They also have a table tennis table and a bunch of screens playing sport. The overall atmosphere is great, loud with lots of laughter. Location is great as well. Decor feels tired.

Booked a table for a group a week before and on arrival my table was given away to another group.

Massively overbooked for a game day, not worth trying

Horrible staff. How they treated us ruined my day. As soon as we arrived everything seemed nice, also the staff "friendly" up until it was time to check out. I was with my friend visiting from Mexico. I though it was a good idea to stop for a game of pool. The staff member clearly said that the cheapest amount to pay was £7.50 for 30 mins. That was the price and time we agreed on. We started setting up the table at 21:03 exactly, as I checked. Apparently the time on the machine started from 21:10. As I was checking the time, at 21:33 we were done with the pool game, and were giving the pool balls back. The staff member, that was also talking in spanish to my friend, said to us "you still have up to 21:40". As he told us, then we decided to try to play a bit more, quickly. Time was up, at 21:40 we stopped playing. We collected the balls, went at the desk,time to get the ID and cards back to us, it was 21:42. They charged £9.80. We knew the price they gave us earlier was £7.50, we wanted to understand why the difference. The issue was how they treated us meanwhile we wanted to understand why they charged us £2.30 extra. The lady at the desk kept saying "you don't understand. The machine calculates the time" Even the receipt had the time on it. It said our game started at 21:10, we were at the desk at 21:42. How can 2 minutes, used to clear up the table, be charged £2.30? The member of staff that did tell us to keep playing suddenly kept saying he did not want to talk to us. I payed, trying to make them understand that it was not a matter of money but more about understanding why the price was not the same as they said before we started playing. After I paid £9.80 the lady came out again shouting "You don't have to pay but never come back!" . The lady was not aware of the conversation we had at the desk before we started playing, so we tried to speak to the other staff member that knew about it, the same one that told us to "keep playing". That man started ignoring me and then telling us to leave. The experience there was lovely until those last moments with the staff. What disturbed me the most was not the £2.30 extra to pay. It could have been a service charge , a mistake or whatever. The treatment from them as if I was a piece of rubbish, trying to "ban me" from that place. After I paid and after trying to understad WHY that staff man told us to continue to play if he knew that the machine was going to charge us more. As we did say that we were willing to just spend £7.50 as we were under a budget. The place itself was not bad, the experience was ruined by how the staff handled the situation. They do not have to ban me as I won't be back there anyways if the staff is like that (which is a shame as the place itself is not bad). The discomfort that occurred to me was the unfairness and unprofessionalism from their side. I do not reccomend this place. I hope someone will make them understand they cannot treat costumers like that. Unfortunately a review is all I can do from my side, but I wouldn't have bothered writing so much for such a small episode if it didn't effect me personally. How they looked at me, tried to ignore me, saying to go away, them wanting me to leave and banning me. I've never been banned from anywhere, I was not being aggressive, I'm unhappy with my experience and hope this review can prepare future costumers that if they get overcharged (which apparently it occurs in this place as I read now other reviews) they should just pay and shut up. That's what the staff there wants from you.

We played a billar game and we stop on time, maybe took 2 min. more to clean everything and just for those two minutes they charged us 3£ more. And they kicked us out only for telling them we were on time. This place is absolutely a scammed because we asked them before how much we got and told us wrong information for their advantage. And when we paid they didn't want to give us our tickets. Absolutely a horrible place.

Beware of the £10 entry fee when turning up to watch the euros. There is no mention of this charge on either the website or your booking confirmation. They just thrust a credit card machine at you when you arrive and tell you to pay. Come on, you are a sports bar, showing sport, why need to charge people £10 entry, it's the group stages of the euros, not the final of the world cup. We refused to pay and argued the point and were eventually let in anyway, so don't get caught out by this scam

Dreadful staff, can’t work out their own system when they mischarge you. They wanted to charge for an extra half hour because they couldn’t work out how to swap two tables over, when two groups had been playing on different tables to the ones they typed in the till.

This place is hands-down not worth a visit. The drinks are weak and after waiting over an hour for beef nachos, they arrived missing the beef and the guacamole. See attached picture of the £12.50 “nachos” that are really just cold tortilla chips, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, sour cream, and what tastes like ketchup mixed with mayonnaise. When we told the server, she inspected the “nachos” and said she’d order the beef and guacamole on the side. After over 45 minutes of waiting, that has yet to arrive. Another person in my party waited over an hour for a burger that somehow arrived cold and inedible. A server (?) happily carried her uneaten plate away after asking if she was finished. There are waaaay too many bars in London to justify visiting here.

Daylight robbery! Visited here for a quick drink and game of pool. The drinks were overpriced and distasteful. The game of pool for an hour was fun and we were told was £15 however when we finished and went to pay the lady stated it was £22.50 which had a £2.50 tip (For us to to and sort the pool table) and extra £3 because we had gone over an hour by a minute. We were never informed it was on a timer and there were no other customers following us. Absolute joke please avoid these scammers!

Really rubbish booking process. We came in and wanted to play pool. We were told we would get the next table but this wasn't the case. They deliberately didn't tell us they were booked up.... when tables came available others went on before us. Ended up leaving without playing Dissapointing as we are regulars her for food, drink and pool. Won't be returning

Only good in taking money! Threw us out in 5 mins after taking entry from us! I don’t remember his name but he was extremely rude! Won’t come at this place ever again!!! It says it’s open till 4am but then they throw us out at 2:30 or 3am. This place is pathetic! Don’t even try to go here.

We booked a booth to watch the Fury/Uzyk fight and had a great time. Edwin was especially helpful throughout the booking process. There were some hiccups in the food and drink availability due to the big event but the staff were extremely friendly and helpful doing their best to get things sorted. The atmosphere was fun and lively but not rowdy, with a great view of the screens.

The worst pool tables I’ve ever played on. The tables are all on a slope and are one foot away from every other table. They should be paying me to be there. Never again!

I really liked this bar! It’s a great place to play pool and make friends. And the music was pretty good. They also have a punching bag machine to test your strength. The bouncers were cool as well. The drinks are a little pricey but it is London. I paid $9.48 USD or about $7.50 Pounds for a Malibu and Coke. I will definitely be back when I’m in the area. I also like how they stay open all night during the weekdays.

Beer isn’t great. Awful music ridiculously loud, can’t even have a conversation in there. But useable pool tables so we keep going back. Music when we arrived today was actually alright and not too loud, then all of a sudden they put their terrible playlist back on and turned it all the way up - we left shortly after.

I love going to play American pool or watch soccer games with my friends, very good service, music and a variety of liquors.

I am 33 years old and very much look so. I am visiting London to see friends and have been denied access to the facility for not having a physical ID despite having a passport photo and driver license photo. I've been called ignorant by an aggressive bouncer who is quite frankly awful. I recommend he is re trained in appropriate language to use to potential customers. My London friends are horrified.

Booked a table weeks in advance, got turned away as they had overbooked, half the beers (all the decent ones) had plastic cups on them as they had run out, food going past looked ropey, terrible standard of place within walking distance of London Bridge station…presume it’s only running off ignorance of how bad it is, don’t not recommend

I came here for the pool tables and bar. The drinks were good and at a standardised price. However, the overall quality of the building was quite poor. The door to the balcony fell off when someone opened it, which is a major risk to people's health. The pool tables are not great quality with no markings on the cloth, and the ques are mostly bent at the tip, which means sharing the best of bad options. When it comes to pricing, it's £15 per hour for a pool table, and they turn one of the lights off around 10 min before your time is up. After paying for 2 hours, I went to the bar and requested to close the table at the 2 hour mark only for them to not adhere to my request (which is a standard request). Once I went to the bar, they wanted to charge me £10 extra for the time going 20 min over. The bartender dismissed the situation completely and was pushing me to pay the extra for a mistake, which was not my fault. You'd think after spending around £90 within a couple of hours, they'd at least understand and let it slide, and yet they were not catering to this situation at all. Other than that one issue, the bar is fine, and it's a good place to play pool for an evening out. It's definitely much cheaper to pay per game in a regular pub or an actual pool club where the quality would be much better.

Decent place with nice music, pool table and sports on tv. Don’t go there and spend on card as there are scammers there who work at this location. Management are not on top of this situation and its an ongoing issue at this establishment.

I could not believe that Bar 1 do not have a GF menu available so I had chips ! I was also left to my own devices to look through all the menu allergens … I did not as lost my appetite by then 😕this is nearly 2024 come on bar 1 what is going on !! I have an autoimmune disease called coeliac ..surely a few meals available isn’t too much to ask ! It ruined our dining experience as we were rushing time then off to the theatre after .. I was so happy on arrival there was GF lager available and the staff and atmosphere was lovely .. what a shame .. in London of all places !! A very frustrated customer .

The pool tables are ok but not worth the hourly rate. The drinks are decent however this bar isnt accessible if you're disabled as there's stairs on entry and to the toilets.

Shocking experience. Arrived with optimism and left with a depressing experience of London hospitality. Was full when we arrived and took a table to wait until a pool table was free. No one else was waiting but each time we went to the bar to get a free table, it was taken by someone at the bar who had arrived moments before. Really poor experience especially for my disabled friend. Access was also very poor

Worst sports bar ever. Pack a coat. Pack a bose speaker. Pack an ipad or something to watch sports on. Their stream doesn't work. The volume is awful. Prison food. Felt like I was sat in a fridge. As atmospheric as a fart in a lift. Run down and should be shut down.

Great place for social events, especially if you're not ready for the night to end. Highly recommend taking a date here for a night cap. It is fairly priced and some of the best security i have encountered. Service is second to none

Didn't even get a reply to my email sent nearly a week ago - called up and was spoken to quite rudely saying they don't check emails by whoever answered. The place has lost out on £2k plus of business as I wanted to book out for a corporate event. Obviously doing so well in the current climate that they can afford to lose it! Oh well!

It’s alright as a place to play some pool but adding a 12.5% service charge to everything (drinks and pool) is a bit of a cheek. They’ve also crammed a couple too many tables in, as the proximity to the walls stop you from getting a full hit in sometimes. The above said, we go quite a lot because the location is fantastic and it isn’t pretentious.

Great bar to play pool in the middle of London Bridge

The place was smelling very bad. Went to the bar to order some cocktails while he was serving some beers. More people came to order after me. I asked for two cocktails and he said that’s the last thing he will do because it takes too long and he was alone. In my opinion that wasn’t fair because I was first than the other guys. After that my friends and I decided to leave and on my way out I saw the staff person just sitting and scrolling on his phone. Don’t hire rude people that doesn’t want to work. Instead, we went to salsa and we spend our money there lol

Great place to spend time with your friends. To be in London prices are cheap, food was great and service was good. Only down side, was the place was bit too crowded as there was limited space between pool tables and other games.

TLDR; Late-Night Entertainment Bar with Several Pool Tables and Friendly Staff. N1 Bar is an excellent choice for late-nights in London Bridge, as it remains open until 5am on select evenings. With a generous number of pool tables and a table tennis available. Additionally, the downstairs club offers a more lively energetic atmosphere. However, a few area of improve, the restroom facilities and speed of service could use some enhancements. Despite these minor drawbacks, the extended hours make it a popular destination for night owls in London Tow

Had booked a table to watch UFC, after arriving we had to stand about for almost an hour then told it would cost £10 per person to watch sport. We left at this point as this fee was not mentioned prior and staff seemed clueless, drinks were overpriced and didn’t like the vibe.

booked to play pool for 9-10pm, however after phoning to confirm the booking we were told that there were fully booked from 10-11. £15 to play pool and then terms and conditions say you have to spend £10-£15 per person. After turning up, we then found out we had to pay an extra £10 on top of everything for entry, so £35 to play pool for an hour? crazy

Great place to go. Upstairs has a pool hall Great prices on the menu and the hire of the tables. Downstairs has a nice little dance area with a DJ. Vip area. Also, there is a smoking place outside. Where you can sit. A really friendly place. I have been going there for a while.

Went in for a game of pool there was a 3hr wait even tho there was two empty tables. Drinks are pricey. Bar men are rude and if your from the LGBTQ family don't come they don't like us gays

Went there for the footy. Good atmosphere, paid £10 entry which included a drink. Plenty of screen.

Everything you'd expect from a pool/billiards bar in the city. Lots of noise, a younger, unscrupulous (but mostly harmless) looking crowd and tired decor. If you're fine with that, you might just enjoy yourself.

I went to N1 bar on Sunday night and I was very impressed by a bartender who was serving me, called Ren! She was such a lovely person to talk to and made me feel very welcomed! Definitely will be returning.

Went with a friend on Friday evening and it was pretty decent. The cost was £12 per hour or £6 for 30 mins. We didn't make a booking but we were able to play for around 1.5 hours quite comfortably. However as we didn't make a booking we did need to change tables once. The have a selection of American style pool tables as well as British style. The atmosphere was good and the staff were friendly for the most part. Music choice was also good as it helped increase the overall enjoyment. I would go again.

1 STAR IS NOT LOW ENOUGH! considering this is labeled as a sports bar it has much to be desired I went here on 22/10/22 to watch ufc 280, i looked it up before i went and made a reservation. When me and my brother got there we were charged £10 each for entrance (which is understandable to watch PPV sports event). When me and my brother got in we got a drink and managed to find a seat.. Straight away football was on when we got in meaning we were missing the beginning of the the fights.. As soon as the football finished UFC should have been played, However all we got was a screen pretty much telling us thrat the venue has not paid its subscription. This was disappointing enough however they only made it worse by giving no refund and not replying to emails when asking for a refund which contradicts what i was told when i left.. This is absolutely dismal conduct and i doubt i will ever show my face here again.. Expesive drinks, sticky floors, and incompetent management.

Went to watch the UFC after booking.. an hour of waiting after the PPV had started and management gave up, we ended up watching on our phones and ate what could only be described as microwaved Iceland snacks. The girl behind the bar was friendly and efficient, but not enough to garner a better review. Avoid this dump at all costs.

Paid £10 to enter and was told they were showing UFC 280 before I paid. Turns out they weren't and the quality of the screens were terrible. No refund was given despite lying. Avoid this place.
