A great evening with fabulous food. A warm welcome awaited us as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. Beautiful cooked fish, freshly prepared with great hospitality. Thank you very much.

Best meal we've had in Sidmouth.

Great food. Squeezed us in on a busy Friday night. Staff were all lovely with great service and the food was delicious. Would recommend!

Lovely sea food restaurant. Small and cozy with good selection and reasonable price.

The servers were amazing and extremely accommodating, but unfortunately, the food was a huge letdown. I ordered the swordfish, which was cooked well but lacked flavor. My wife’s shrimp and scallop tacos were dreadful. From the taste, we suspect the shrimp was either frozen or just very old. Each taco had three shrimp and one scallop, and for £20 for two tacos, it definitely wasn’t worth the price. To make matters worse, they were out of ice due to a constantly malfunctioning ice machine. We were only informed after ordering our drinks, so we had to drink them at room temperature. I would definitely not recommend this place. While I want to give thanks to the two amazing servers who profusely apologised about the ice machine, the terrible food means I won’t be returning. Avoid at all costs.

Went for dinner with family. Service was OK, but food was slow to arrive. Steak was over cooked and fish platter was over priced for what it was. Nice, but nothing special for the price.

Great food and friendly staff. They were accommodating for a small child. I was recommended the scallop and shrimp skewers and they were awesome!

This is a marvelous seafood restaurant with excellent service. It looks diner style but don't be put off by it. The food is restaurant quality with the freshest local seafood and fish and the service is spot on. They actually ask you half way through if everything is alright!!!!! Sadly not something that is a standard as it should be in this country. Everything was perfect 👍🏻😊

Visiting a friend in Sidford she suggested we try Myca’s for lunch. A great spot friendly staff and beautiful food, we had the Seafood Misto ,mixed platter along with Monkfish tails wow, we will be back again to visit so we can have lunch here worth the 120 mile round trip !

The best cakes in Devon all made in house. Lovely staff too. Highly recommend!

Fab food, excellent service & very dog friendly!

A busy restaurant mostly focused on fish and shellfish, but also have some other staples including burgers and ribs. The ribs had a good amount of meat on. We had a family meet up and we weren't hassled for out table. The food was fresh, well presented and not all just standard options. My husband had the crab salad which had generous portions of both brown and white meat. I had the scallop and prawn tacos. A delicious mixture, if a little messy to eat. There were no wipes or water bowls offered and there is only one toilet. Thoroughly recommend

Our third visit to Myca's in Sidmouth, this time with two other couples. We had starters of whitebait and calamari, followed by Misto, Scallop & Prawn skewers or skate. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were accompanied by a very nice bottle of Picpoul. We were served by Mike, who was helpful and attentive as in our earlier visits. He adds to the enjoyment of the meal and helps to create a friendly atmosphere. Our visit was at lunchtime, so atmosphere is difficult to generate in daylight, but I would imagine that it would be very pleasant during the evening, so no doubt we will be visiting again soon! Great food, atmosphere, and service. Mike is just great, friendly, chatty and so efficient. The whole restaurant is amazing, 2nd visit in a week. Try the monkfish curry, yummy. Thank you to everyone.

Brilliant place highly recommend it

I ate at Myca’s with my husband this evening. This restaurant is a gem! We had calamari and whitebait to start and then Monkfish curry and Misto for main course. All of the food is obviously freshly and lovingly cooked with care. The aioli and tartare sauce are homemade too - and you can really taste the difference. We had a bottle of local white wine - Sandridge Barton, Dart Valley Reserve - which complemented the food brilliantly. A lovely easy drinking white wine. The front of house staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. If we lived locally, this would be a regular haunt of ours. So glad we came across this restaurant and I wish them well for the future. They deserve to go from strength to strength.

A very nice experience. We had a wonderful lunch. The food is really great. We had a salad with grilled halloumi, seafood misto and the Thai surf roll. It was well decorated. The service was great and overall worth the price.

Good selection with plenty of fresh fish options plus the standards. Wine menu good and not too pricey. Helpful and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

On a rather wet and dreary Sunday, we walked past Myca’s and thought we’d give it a try, as we fancied some seafood. It was very quiet when we went in, but only to our advantage, because half and hour later, the place was full. We could certainly see why…. I had the chowder, which was the best thing I’ve eaten this year, and my husband had the seafood linguine. They even brought some scallops for the side as they had run out of prawns. Absolutely delicious. The service was 10/10, and we couldn’t recommend more. Didn’t have enough room for dessert, but coffees were also excellent.

Needed another person to help with service. The seafood platter was a complete ripoff, 27 quid for a load of dry over cooked deep fried fish, calamari and crab with dry tasteless chips. The whitebait was also overdone. A member of the party had a burger that came with all the toppings but it was ordered plain, it was taken back to the kitchen and just scraped off and given back. We did not pay for it. Overall, could have got a bag of calamari and a rustlers burger from Iceland and had a nicer lunch.

What a marvellous fish restaurant with a Cuban twist. When we arrived, it was empty, but I'd seen a sign saying "Swordfish", so we thought "why not". Well, there wasn't actually any swordfish, but my wife had the Crab Tacos, which were really tasty. I had the Scallop and Prawn skewers. These were also really excellent ! Finally, my wife had the Eton Mess and a hot chocolate, while I had the Chocolate Brownie. Heaven !! Our hostess was really nice and the place soon filled up. The atmosphere was great !! Very highly recommended !! So very glad we came in !!! We'll be back !!

I can not eat Wheat, Gluten, Dairy, or Soya. The staff are very knowledgeable. Stunning restaurant, fantastic food. Seafood was very fresh & delicious.

We all enjoyed a number of fish dishes and the service was excellent. Although the seating is not luxurious and the external appearance of the restaurant is not inspiring this should not put anyone off booking. Another aspect that was very pleasing was the fact that even in January the restaurant was open. We were so pleased that we rebooked, delighted to learn that the restaurant would be open on a Monday evening. The only criticism was that the puddings were not very attractive and we suspected that spray on cream was involved, not what should be served in Devon. However, the starters and the main courses were excellent. I would say that the chowder was outstanding

Had the Crab Tacos, absolutely fantastic great pudding too very friendly staff and a very clean and comfortable restaurant.

Visit here last night. The food was fabulous. I had the prawn and scallop skewers and my partner had the crab tacos. Both dishes were very well seasoned and were full of flavour. The staff are wonderful. Pleasant and helpful and very knowledgeable about the dishes. It was a really pleasant evening. I believe this is a fairly new venture so I wish them every success.

Amazing food. Extremely friendly staff. Can't fault anything. The atmosphere is also very good. There was a noisy table but, obviously, that's not the restaurant's staff's fault. They can't just go to the customers and tell them to keep it down (because they are bothering some "posh princess") . When it comes to the food, you can "taste" the love and passion putted in it by the Chef. The staff is very attentive and polite. You can also feel the team spirit when you see the respect that the owners have for the customers as well as for the staff. For sure a "MUST GO" place whenever you go to Sidmouth.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner here, staff were very friendly, good choice on both the main menu and specials, and the food was incredible! This restaurant is a real asset to the town! Will definitely be coming back again in the future!

Really worthy place this. Fish was superb, from Plymouth fish market. Ambience lovely, which is difficult to achieve seeing we were the only diners (must have been even better later on given the number of reserved tables). Service was effortlessly excellent. Natalie was delightful and so sincerely friendly (evidenced by a number who called in and greeted her by name, and vice versa). The decor was very pleasant without trying too hard. Still very fresh as the restaurant was opened in May 2023 by a Romanian chef and his wife, relocating from Plymouth. Their family dropped in and you got the sense of a very warm togetherness between all associated. And on to the food. Having just been to Santander last month, this stood up against anything we eat in the seafood capital of Spain. The nine Cajun spiced prawns were tenderly enveloped in the lightest of tempura batter and were plump to the bite. A substantial salmon steak was enjoyed by my wife while I had a mouth watering Misto of three grilled fish; sardines, mackeral and salmon. I was a little uncertain about the sardines when ordering, that they might have been too strong for just before bedtime. I needn't have worried. They were so succulent and with a mild flavour they turned out to be my favourite of closely contested talent show. All three were grilled perfectly, retaining freshness without being charred to resemble a biscuit. The unlimited chips were an unecessary enticement, though I did request just a small portion to accompany the remnants of the salmon. The chef evidently doesn't understand portion size as the bowl was overflowing with crisp but not gum cutting beauties. I felt honour bound to finish them off! This place will very quickly develop a richly deserved reputation. Visit it soon.

Rather slow service. We ordered two starter and two mains. After 30 minutes waiting we were presented with our main course, which was rather surprising as we hadn't had the starter. The quality of the food and cooking was good.We decided to forego the first course. We had an apology, the kitchen staff were blamed.No compensation was offered.BUT the biggest problem here is the noise, it was so loud we couldn't talk to each other. Once again we have the old problem of poor acoustics, hard floors and no soft furnishings to absorb the sounds of diners speaking louder and louder to be heard. Such a shame, but not an insurmountable problem.

Food was delicious, there is a wide range of choices even for fussy eaters. Service was superb and the owners and waitress always had a smile on their faces. They came and greeted us on arrival and on exit too. Would highly recommend

A wonderful little find. We had arrived in Sidmouth around 8pm on a Sunday evening and tried 6 places for food. Turned away by all they had all stopped serving, on a bank holiday weekend!. After contemplating the Coop for sandwich’s we heard the chatter and soft music from Mycas. We were warmly welcomed with a lovely smile from Emily, a fabulous choice of fresh fish. I would definitely recommend this place the food and ambience is great and 5* for friendly service. Thankyou Emily for being so lovely and also giving our Dog a little treat too xxx

Came across this restaurant when trying to find somewhere that was still serving food at 9 pm. The food didn’t disappoint and my swordfish and calamari tasted fresh and really well cooked. Great seafood!

Lovely to have a proper restaurant in Sidmouth, beautiful food, friendly but rushed waitress. Make sure you book ! Only negative was sitting at a table between two tables with dogs (3 in total). If we'd had one of our own, it would not have been pleasant. Why do dog owners have to eat out with dogs attached, and why does a good restaurant allow them in. Rant over

Had the moules marinière (cooked to perfection - best in England we think) and grilled tuna. Such amazingly good food. Pleasant friendly service. Will definitely come again.

We are locals and have eaten twice at Myca's a superb new fish restaurant in Sidmouth. What an experience - great staff, very tasty food, and if I was going to complain, it was that I didn't have room for a pudding! We'll be back.

What a great place! We chanced a walk in and just managed to get in as it's very popular and always booked up. So glad they kindly squeezed us in, as the food was amazing!! Both my husband and I had a starter and main and all were delicious, served in good time and lovely and hot. Staff were all friendly and smiles and it was simply a lovely meal.

Just what we've always wished for in Sidmouth; a restaurant with a bistro atmosphere. Excellent service, unpretentious and delicious food, cooked to perfection. We couldn't fault a thing.

I hesitate to write this because I don't want to be negative about a new local business and Myca's has rave reviews under it's belt. We visited in the strength of these reviews. My trio of fish was very tasty and welll cooked. My husband had the chowder. It was served cold so we asked for it to be heated up slightly. The dish was bland to say the least and very watery with little evidence of fish, it looked like stringy bits of fish were in the dish but no chunky pieces like you would expect in a chowder. My husband could not finish it. We brought it to the attention of the waitress on paying, she bought out the manager/owner who argued that the dish had never received any negative comments before, which seemed a silly comment, we were dissatisfied, that should have been accepted. Then the chef came out defending his dish. Admitting it was just made so may not be the same standard as he said was usual. We had a conversation with 2 very defensive people, a simple apology would have sufficed. They wanted to charge full price for the barely touched 'chowder', we questioned this. The owner then stated that she would charge us half price as the cost of crab was high.. As we had seen little evidence of the presence of crab we found this amusing! My point is 2 fold, 1. We found the dish unpleasant, 2.the management engaged upon a very public and negative, defensive stance against myself and my husband, especially the 'chef'. As I have stated my dish was fine and we wish to support local business, but please, learn how to deal with your customers

On holiday and spotted a new restaurant read the reviews thought we would try this out. We were so.impressed, the service was absolutely brilliant and only surpassed by the food itself, I had the mitso my husband had the seafood platter my daughter had the tuna and her boyfriend had the seafood pasta all of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. It was a brilliant evening we felt that we had a really special evening we are here for another week so will definitely book again.

I love Sidmouth, but having promised my dad Fish & Chips on the beach after Church for Daddies day, I found every damn place CLOSED EARLY!!!! White Horse, Prospect, Dukes!!! Marine open but fully booked. So I popped into Myca’s on Fore Street as soon as they opened at 5, and got a table for 6pm… it was BLOODY LUSH! Simple seafood grill, nothing fancy, but everything was just so flavourful. Dad had battered Cod, mum Seafood Misto with the catch of the day. I had Asian prawn and scallop skewers which were perfectly cooked. We mopped our plates clean with bread Simple puddings also perfectly devine and reasonable (cheesecake, brownie, eaton (sic) mess with ice cream) Seems a family affair (I could be totally wrong though!) with mum out front, run off her feet. Dad cooking and bringing plates to the table. Daughters doing their puzzles by the counter. Fresh leaf tea, Decent glass of Ozzie white and a Plymouth G&T perfectly served. IMHO this is a local business to support. Looking forward to coming back.
